Once Sonic finally answered him, Zhang nodded. "I was recently given the name 'Zhang Sanfeng, though you can just call me 'Zhang'.' he said and then everything began to change once the spider-like being appeared. What stood before the whole group now was an intricate maze. Things were getting weirder by the second. Zhang decided to use his Aura Sight again and began to look through the walls to see what else lay ahead of them. He might be able to see an exit of some sort.

"Okay, I haven't been saying anything because this is crazy. . . " Bat Man stated. "But I've done a self-check diagnostic with my sensors over and over again and every time I did so, it came out the same way, I'm not hallucinating, there's nothing wrong with my brain. . . " Bruce spoke behind them. "I don't know why the speakers didn't mention me, but I can only assume they knew I would be here, otherwise, I doubt I would be here. . . in my Earth it should be 2014." He stated. . . Also wow, 1972? That's when I was born. I guess that makes me a baby." He spoke to the Medic. "Okay, just call me Bat Man."

Stern paused when the medic gave his answer to the year. 1972? Impossible! That was near the beginning of recorded history, from before the dark age of technology! He was about to give answer to this, when he heard a voice. Scans indicated into was projected by some sort of vox communication. As the walls began to change, Stern loudly exclaimed "What witchcraft is this?!" When the spider thing appeared and changed into the many armed behemoth, there was only one thing Stern knew it could be; a daemonic servant of the chaos god, Tzeentch. He armed himself, and braced for combat with the thing, before it vanished and the room shifted. When the floor finally settled, some kind of servitor floated up from the floor and answered his question of the year. Impossible! M600? The gods of chaos had survived so long?! No, it must be a trick of M'Kachen.

Suddenly, another figure appeared out of nowhere from the shadows. Stern determined that the figure was some sort of man, dressed as a xenos, who claimed to be from M2. Stern turned to the two of them, awestruck. "Humans from the age of terra." he said awestruck. They even referred to holy terra by its ancient title of Earth. If this was a Tzeentchian trick, it was quite convincing. "Then you must be my long lost ancestors then. You have my pardons. Since you appear to use Gregorian dating, I am from the year 40999, the cusp of the 42nd millennium." Turning to the whole group, he declared, "Very well then. Humans, Xenos, it appears we are at an impasse here. I will work to help return us to our homes. For now. Let us push on."

A scream is heard from the wall as a slot opens up and the Engineer slides out, hitting the floor with a "oof!" The small little bot says "ahhhhh! There you are! Now we can truly begin. Well, I don't mean to say you are neccesary, engineer. But it would be less fun without the whole party." The slot that the engineer fell out of slides closed, and the bot goes on "So, Here's the drill. This maze is two miles thick around a clearing about, oh, a mile in diameter. If you reach the middle, and meet my demends, you can go home. Sounds simple, right? Well, there are catches involved. Much like this one!" A blood-curdling roar is heard from around a corner, and a huge hulking humanoid beast that towers over even Stern lumbers toward them from the shadows. "I'll let you all decide if you want to be eaten or not. But if you just die this would have all been for nothing! Remember you're entertaining me, that should do nicely to motivate you." He laughs maniacally as the bot morphs into a tiny robotic spider no bigger than a golf ball and crawls up the wall.

At the sight of the towering creature, Karkat's eyes blulged out and he stopped mid scentence with Terezi. "Okay! Nevermind!!" he shouted before making his way to the center of the others saying "out of the goddamn way, leader control center coming though," shouting even louder at the group, "Hey, listen you collective troop of bulgesuckers! Unless you want be converted into shit by the resident titan here, I suggest you listen to me and we run the fuck out of here!"

Medic was about to say something to Stern, until he heard a familiar sound, followed by a distinct crackling. "Ah, I am fully charged!" Medic exclaimed happily. He stopped healing the giant and pointed the medigun at his own face, breathing in deeply. "Ha, ha haaa, Oktoberfest!!!" Medic said as he breathed outward. He loved the feeling of doing that, especially when his medigun was fully charged. He was going to do it again, but then the Engineer appeared, which surprised Medic. He didn't think anyone he recognized would come. "Hello, Engineer," Medic said happily, still slightly high from his medigun.

He then noticed the other giant headed straight for them. His high soon evaporated after the spider creature told them to run, and began to heal Stern once more. "We can fight. My Ubercharge is ready," Medic said to him. Without another word, Medic deployed his Ubercharge, making Brent glow red and granting Brent full invincibility to all harm. Brent's weapons also looked as if he was slightly discharging electricity, which was the kritz effect of Medic's medigun, giving him triple the strength.

Zhang immediately charged aura to his paws at the sight of the giant creature. But once the grey-skinned one shouted about running away, he stood in place until the last second. His aura flowed back into his body, charging it and allow him to move as a blur of motion. On his way he grabbed Karkat, hoisted the troll over his shoulder in a swift motion and continued to run.

Terezi noticed Karkat had taken off, unsurprising to her. Though, as she gripped onto her cane, she elaborated onto why Karkat had fled, the two trolls knew nothing of how their companions fought. Karkat knew what kind of disaster this could spell, after all, a lack of cohesion in the team was what lead to so many deaths among their former teammates. Terezi scowled, but firmly held her place, if only to judge what would happen next. Karkat wouldn't like it, but Karkat wasn't leader anymore. She pulled open her cane, revealing the sharp blades within it, which she quickly held onto like swords. She doubted she would actually fight, but it was better to be prepared.

Karkat ran quickly, trying not to get attacked by the giant lumbering in the shadows. The troll had gotten someways before he was picked up. Karkat flailed a bit before coming to the realization that it was Zhang that had him. "What the...!" he began to say before realizing the quickness they were moving. Suddenly he had to look back, only to wonder if Terezi was at least following too.

A wall was in the way of the escape, unfortunately. The beast is revealed to have one huge eyeball take up most of it's face, and a huge grinning mouth full of hundreds of razor sharp teeth. It's at least nine and a half feet tall and has huge arms ended in in larger hands that are pointed at the fingers in wicked claws. It starts to talk in a voice very similar to fingernails being scraped across a chalkboard "No where to run. Nowhere to hide!" It starts to grind it's teeth together in anticipation of a meal, the veins in its eye bulging out. "I'M GOING TO ENJOY RIPPING THE BONES FROM YOUR INSIDES!" it however, just keeps lumbering closer, as if that's all it could do.

Seeing the massive beast in front of him, Engineer whipped out his Sentry Gun. "Sentry comin' right up!" He shouted as the Gun built in front of his eyes. The Gun was only a small one at the moment, but it was starting to push back the beast. Engi ducked as he started to hit the gun. He didn't have enough metal to upgrade it, but it was helping. "Medic! What in the name of Sam Hill is going on here, and who are these people?!"

As the massive behemoth began to stride forward, Stern readied himself for battle. He had fought against daemons far larger then him before, but this was unlike anything he had ever seen. Still, he was a space marine, and space marines knew no fear. The very concept had been conditioned out of him through both genetic and post-hypnotic programming. He watched as two of the xenos attempted to flee with a pathetic futility. There was nowhere to run. "Stand and fight cowards!" he called to them. "You bring shame upon your houses!" Where was a commissar lord when you needed one? Suddenly, a sense of strength filled his body. It seemed to come from the strange device the medic from the age of terra was using. Turning to the behemoth, he spat in the face of its threat. Adding on to the strength of his already massive body, and the boost of the archeotech device, Stern used his psychic powers to add extra force to his arms; a technique the codex astartes referred to as "hammerhands". Stern charged forward, firing his storm bolter as he went, screaming "FOR THE EMPEROR! MAY WE DIE IN GLORY!" He leaped forward, and brought the full force of his force halberd, channeling both physical and psycic destructive energies, down upon the creature.

Medic laughed maniacally as he followed Stern, in order to maintain his Ubercharge on him. Even the Heavy wasn't this strong. When Engineer asked what was going on, Medic responded using his practically trademarked sentence: "I HAVE NO IDEA!" All he knew was that he was having fun, and that dissecting the giant creature they were fighting would be very fun once the fight was over.

Batman shook his head. . . oh well. . . He took an EMP puse detonator from his utility belt and slipped it on his forefinger, and pointed it at the machine creature, with his other hand he pressed onto the ring, and there was a clicking sound made, as it fired what looked like electricity, although it wasn't. . . it would render any electrical equipment on the creature impossible to work with, effectively shutting it down, if it worked.

The creature roars, but the moment stern's halberd touches it the beast.... ripples like liquid then turns into a pile of dust, about knee height. A laugh is heard from the shadows of the ceiling, but it's source is not visible. The maze groans and the walls start to change, making the way out of the dead end behind them now. "Do you like my minions? Very useful in psychological testing. I now know which of you are warriors by heart, not that it was pretty obvious before. Karkat, while running was noble, you would rather not get split from the group in this maze. As you can see, it changes quite often." The voice of the Intelligence boomed within their heads, making him impossible to ignore. "Now, best to move on. Those things don't stay like that for long." As if to prove his point, the pile of ashes quivers and shakes a little, the creature's face already reforming.
