The King is lazy, long live the President and Vice-President.

GM: Dutchbag, Russia; Does the stats, Asia save Japan, the Americas, Africa, Britain and the stats.
Co-GM: MagnificentOne, Britain; Does Europe save Britain and Japan

Hello and welcome to World in Revolution; 1900. The date is January 1st, 1900, and the Boxer Rebellion rages on, the Ch'ing Dynasty is on the verge of collapse, and with it years of influence from Western nations. You, the player, must now take the reigns of a nation and lead it through this turbulent and troubling time. Although the Boxer Rebellion and other events in Asia will be a big part of the early stages, it is not the only focus of the game, and any nation is up for grabs.

Rules and Procedures

Orders are those things you send your GM every week to control your nation. Regular orders can concern anything, war orders are military movements. The amount of orders your nation has will be revealed when the thread goes live. Whoever you have to send orders to will be written down, too. Orders are sent to the GM via private message with the title formatted as; 'WiR - Nation Name - Year'. Example (and this is a heavily simplified version):

WiR - Belgium - 1900

Order One (nf): Increase the level of factories.
Order Two: Perform naval exercises off the coast.
Order Three: Build a railway from Ghent to Antwerp.
Order Four: Spread Belgian influence in the Congo further east.

There is also the National Focus, which is an order than will succeed, but not spectacularly. Can be used on anything except military movements.

After your orders have been sent, I will roll on them. The roll decides how well your order does.

The deadline will always be Wednesday 12PM Amsterdam Time unless I explicitly say otherwise. Your orders will get a -1 every half an hour you're late.

Statistics

National Statistics, also called "Stats", are the main thing that keeps World in Revolution moving along. They are mostly all automated and kept in a Microsoft Excel Document, but they are quite complex. But for you, the player, it is rather simple since you don't have to do anything with it. Freeloaders Let us take a look at Russia to display how they work:

The Russian Empire

Player: Dutchbag

It's signup time, go knock yourself out. I request that you write down a list of at least three nations down. We'll start picking right after. China is unplayable.

1) The Emirate of Afghanistan

I doubt people will be scrambling to be Afghanistan, and I don't have time at the moment to be doing research on any other country during the period. However, my (very much not wanted) reserves are:

2) Argentina (I know nothing about it other than the little I just read on Wikipedia)
3) Ottoman Empire (resuscitation? More like resurrection)

I set up a chatroom for discussion of WiR: 1900 when the last GM was going to run it. Might as well keep that around, at the very least in lieu of anything else.

That's the problem. A lot of us can't use it. Chatzy works for pretty much everyone.

Chatzy can only fit half of the population at any given time and doesn't support PM'ing. Just pull on my sleeve if you can't access coldfront, I'll help. I recognise Nex' good intentions, but for the sake of clarity: the Chatzy is not an official arm of this game. Go to #RPG_1900 on coldfront for the official chat.
