Well I wouldn't make the actual thread into a webcomic for multiple reasons. There are lots of characters and they can depart or leave the story at any time creating narrative confusion. The plot is not set as it is contingent on the players so that'd be another difficulty. And the time the rp is set in along with the characters involved would leave a lot of readers confused because the intial events haven't been thoroughly explained in the IC and a fair bit of the characters have unconventional origins that would be difficult to relate to readers. A prequel webcomic featuring the actual origins of the major heroes and villains that explains how the world changed would be the best direction to go to in my opinion. And yes I do like big teams of heroes.
Well yes we would have to change the story around a bit because role playing is fairly different from novels and comics. Kind of like how you can't have an exact copy of story when you adapt into a movie since cinema is very different books. I would keep the characters and their stories and just try and work them into the comic's universe and figure out what to leave in and what to leave out. Also a prequel is not necessary since there are plenty of comics that use very short stories inside their issues to tell the back story of the characters. I am writing a superhero book right now and I have tons of heroes in this one universe and they are already established, I reference their pasts or hint at it throughout the story without using flashbacks or writing a story detailing it.
