THE LEGENDARY BANTHA FODDERS! EPISODE XIII
Looking for one more player!
100 years have passed since the Rebel Alliance ousted the Empire from its rule over the galaxy. They did a pretty terrible job at preventing imperial loyalists from becoming a major threat again. Everyone must've partied so hard on Endor, that the hangover left them ill equipped to handle the harsh realities of intergalactic policy making. Wars between the two forces raged on until the rebels were decimated, taking with them what little jedi remained.
This new imperial governance did its homework; learned from its predecessors. Their reign is far more carefully guised under a manipulated script for peace than ever before - almost to the point where public opinion is no less different than the ideology of the rebels, minus the "Yub Nub." The empire moves in secret crusade, destroying every piece of Jedi history it can find. Every artifact they discover puts the ancient order of the light that much closer toward permanent extinction... But there is one that remains, one item that contains its entire legacy - and it's headed straight to Tatooine!
Plot: Our characters are indentured to Mahuva the Hutt, criminal warlord and ruler of Bestine. An unexpected discovery brings forth new opportunity, one that will unite us under one common goal: Screwing up as little as possible.
This is the legend of the Bantha Fodders!
Our aim is to make this a fun Star Wars adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously. The overarching plot will make for serious moments, but the general focus will be on the antics of our band of degenerates.
We are currently accepting one person that will join us on this whacky adventure. I won't leave a cs sheet. You decide how you want to present your character to us, and if there's more than one entry, we'll all (myself, El Taco Taco, Danko, and FernStone) vote the best one.
Notes:
- There aren't any jedi
- There is no Rebel Alliance
- Our characters are not natural killers gifted in combat.
- To have a connection with our group, your character must in someway be indebted to Mahuva.
- High Casual (more for quality and substance than post length)
- We're a fun bunch.
- Mahuva the Hutt is purple
- Check out the 1x1 Interest Check this spawned from to get a general sense of where we're taking this.
- A Map of Tatooine for reference
The Cast
Height: 5'6"
Skin Color: Blueish Green
Name: Onru
Age: 23
Race: Mon Calamari
Equipment:
Goggles: Every Mon Cal on Tattoine should have one; best way to keep sand out our shiners. Modified It with built-in zoom capabilities and has transitional lenses. Comes with several different modes too like thermal and night-vision. I'm trying to install a 'see-through' x-ray mode on it as well...you know - for science. The ladies? Oh yeah, they love it. I mean, they never personally told me that. You can just tell with that look in their eye and that laugh they share with their friends. That's a fashionable Mon Cal is what they're probably saying. Trust me - I know these things.
Portable Tractor Beam: Fastened in several pieces around my right arm, this magnificent invention of mine is powered by the powerpack I'm always wearing. Being able to move the more heavier parts without breaking a sweat makes shop work a breeze - until I accidentally crank up the repulsor coils and throw a landspeeder turbine through the wall.
Generator Pack: It looks heavy because of how blocky it is, but that's just the metal casing I welded from a Corellian ship plate. Its surprisingly light! Anyways, the anti-grav core and repulsor coils are tucked deep in the center - that stuffs for the portable tractor beam unit installed on my gauntlet. There was a lot of space left over so I made compartments to put random stuff in. Inflatable camping kit. Food. Tools. Toiletries. Socks. I practically live out of this thing!
Blaster pistol: I'm pretty dangerous with this. Let's just say I've had my fair share of fire fights with this bad boy. What's the model you ask? U-uh...don't know. Why do you care? You have some kind of blaster fetish! Ew! Look, all you have to know is that when you pull this thing here, bad things come out of this end here - like this.*KATURR!* Oh no! Oh, no! Are you okay? Uh, sorry about that! What? Hey it's not my fault! I told you I was dangerous with this thing!
DUM3-A55: Me and DUM3-A55 go way back. He was in bad shape when I found him at Mos Taike. Some schmuck mechanic messed with his wiring real bad. The little droid went on a throwing-spree around town before I managed to disable him. That's right, a throwing-spree. Pit droids like DUM3 are deceptively strong. They're about a meter tall, but they can carry and throw objects many times their size - like a moisture farmer, or a pack of rodian brats. At least no one got hurt. Badly. I take him with me on the job, most of the time. DUM3-A55 fits perfectly over the backside of my powerpack when compressed into a small disk shape. He can actually be pretty useful when he isn't breaking things, or off terrorizing children. I'd like to think he means well - I don't know droidspeak, so I can't be 100 percent sure. I mean hasn't killed me in my sleep yet, so that's a good sign, right?
Skills/Flaws Self taught mechanic, tinkerer, repairer and engineer. Expert haggler. Terrible swimmer. Indecisive. Shoots first, thinks about it sometime later. And as you witnessed, horrid with a blaster ("It wasn't my fault!")
Basic Info: I don't remember anything about Dac. Mom always said it was the opposite of Tattoine; "More water, less sand." *Shivers* I don't think I could ever live on a planet like that. Tattoine is all I've ever known. We fled our homeworld because the Empire was using it for target practice - again that's mom talking. Yeah, mom talks about a lot of things; anything really, except dad. He didn't come with us when we left, and mom never said why. Whatever the reason was, it wasn't enough to keep her from moving on. She's happily married now to a Quarren named Kessek. I'd like to say that I'm happy for her, but that broom face is the reason why I'm indentured to Mahuva Hutt.
*spits*
That tentacled trick pimped me out as the best service mechanic, the kind that - for better or worse - can fix anything; landspeeder, swoop bike, psychotic droid, etc. Kessek was a scrap salesman with a lot of clientele, and through his word-of-mouth my reputation grew. Word eventually reached Mahuva's filthy ear holes. He invited me over to his palace in Bestine, did the whole song and dance about women and credits, and living a lavish lifestyle. Then Mahuva brought out women who did a whole song and dance, while men showered them in credits. Then Mahuva introduced me to one of his lady friends. She was beautiful...that, that was a good night.
*Quietly smiles* ... Wanna see a picture of her?
Forever Amore
*sighs* the one that got away...
Anyways, it didn't take much to reel me in - I just wish I knew what I was actually getting into. The Boonta Eve Classic was coming up and Mahuva wanted me to sabotage other pod racers, and supe up the one he was going to bet major stacks on. Moral compass aside, it seemed an easy enough. Took a bit of sneaking around, but I got the job done.
At least I thought I did.
Turns out that my Huttese isn't so great. I misheard one name for another and, well... On the upside, the underdog from Aleen Minor became the first ever Aleena to win the Boonta Eve - and it was all thanks to me! The downside of course was that he wasn't who Mahuva bet on. I suddenly realized just how dangerous hutts could be. He threatened to kill me and my mom. I asked if he could just kill Kessek, but I never get what I want. I ended up going for another option - if you want to call it that - and chose to live out a lifetime contract as Mahuva's indentured. If I'm not fixing up his cronies' swoop bikes and landspeeders, I'm taking whatever job I can to buy this contract off. Yup, I'm well on my way. Only got 10,111,013.44 credits to go! ... *sigh*
Ivaadi Ziveri
Vi for short, Formerly known as Ivaadiz'iveri
Age: Around 20, she's not entirely sure
Race: Twi'lek
Skills: Moving Silently, Hiding, Getting Into Small Spaces, Quick Learner, Intelligence, Good Memory, Seduction to Get What She Wants (Kuri'au), Flexibility, Acrobatics, Dancing, Acting, Good Liar, Antagonising and Annoying Other People
Weaknesses: Short and Sharp Temper, Very Blunt (which can often cause offense) and Almost Always Speaks Her Mind, Lack of Physical Strength (seriously carrying vaguely heavy things is not something she'll ever be able to do), Lightweight When it Comes to Drinking, Her Cooking is Practically Poisonous, She May Learn Fast but it Doesn't Mean She'll Be Good At What She Learns, Agoraphobia, Not Got the Best People Skills, Rude, Not Very Friendly, Argumentative and Annoying and Antagonising, Untrusting
Equipment: She doesn't really have anything... Well apart from her clothes
Appearance: Standing at around 5'3" Ivaadi is on the shorter side of the spectrum. She has the body of a typical twi'lek, slender and with obvious curves. She is quite attractive and often wears tight clothes to enhance this fact. Vi's skin is a deep, slightly pinkish red with no markings and little variation in shade over her body. Her eyes are a light purple, quite a dull and pale colour. Her lekku are nothing spectacular, of about an average length and normal shape. She has a natural grace about her when she walks, moving about silently with ease and most of her movements being pleasing enough to watch.
Personality: Ivaadi has mastered the art of being neither seen nor heard, often just blending into the shadows. She tries to act as emotionless and plain as possible, not wanting to make an impression on anyone personality wise. She has learned the hard way that showing any spirit or rebellion will only end badly for her. She is quite good at acting, pretending to be something she is not, but even so she has a sharp temper that will often get the better of her. When this happens her fiery and often rebellious spirit shines through. She is definitely not one to give in and is incredibly stubborn to the point of stupidity. Even so she intelligent and often knows where to draw the line. Well, most of the time. She has quite a sharp tongue and not afraid to speak her, quite liking to use sarcasm and offend others, though only to those she knows are her equal. Often her self-preservation instinct will kick in when around one superior to her, especially the Hutt who technically owns her, and she will just remain silent. She is not above using the attractive appearance she has to seduce others, using it to further her own goals or get something she wants. Even with this slightly flirty characteristic, common among Twi'lek, she has never actually been attracted to someone herself. Vi is tough, not one to break easily, and used to physical violence. She is unlikely to show any of the more 'vulnerable' emotions and even less likely to trust others enough to tell them much about her, or how she feels. A lot of her outside personality, though, is wall she built up to protect herself from beatings given to the more rebellious and outspoken slaves. Above all Vi will always look out for herself first, others second.
History: Ivaadi was born on Ryloth to Tolian Twi'lek, a sub-race commonly with orange skin. Her parents were of the Sesk'nablin, the labourer caste, and as a result the family live in poverty. It was often customary for the first daughter of poor families to be sold, Vassij'ra, and her family was no exception. Vi was sold at quite a young age, at around six or seven which is much younger than most, and fetched quite a hefty sum due to her rare skin colour (something that she has grown to hate). Before she was sold on by the slave traders she was put through certain training for a few years, mostly in dancing and other forms of entertainment. She was first sold to a Sith and upon his untimely death passed on to another Sith. After these two she was bought by Mavuah the Hutt. She is one of the luckier slaves, though, as she was bought more as a kind of status symbol than as a dancer/for entertainment. Even so she is a still a slave in pretty bad conditions, with no freedom.
Random Facts: Her red skin colour is caused by a genetic mutation, something akin to albinism in humans, and is rare making her more valuable than most Twi'lek (which is really quite a disadvantage). She likes to offend people in Rylothian/Twi'leki and also has a tendency to say certain words in her native language. Her favourite colour is dark brown or grey, she doesn't like the colour red. She hates having her name shortened to anything but Vi (especially to Iva, though she won't say why)

Appearance:
Name: Reeko Solman
Age: 25
Race: Human (Born in Bestine)
Skills: Piloting, Reeko has managed to become a talented pilot and can pull of fairly complex manoeuvres (mainly to save his own skin), he can pilot most light and medium ships. Physically fit, can run very quickly. Good at lying and cheating, can usually talk his way out of trouble and convince others that he’s something he isn’t. Thievery, Reeko has stolen many things in his life and has a knack for getting away with it.
Equipment: Blaster pistol, blaster carbine and various tools and other gadgets in his utility belt (e.g. smoke grenades and flashbangs).
“The Viper”, a light freighter Reeko won in a game of Sabacc in which he cheated. He gave it the name of a type of snake he had been told about by an off-world merchant as he had been told they were fierce and he thought it sounded better than “The Magdalene” as it had been called previously. It is barely spaceworthy and threatens to fall to pieces every time it leave or enters an atmosphere or tries to land. It was previously a trade vessel turned smuggler ship, the smuggler fell on hard times and the condition of the ship suffered as a result. Reeko has barely been able to keep it running since the day he won it.
The Viper
History: Reeko was born in Bestine, his father was a small time merchant with a stall in one of the bazaars in the city. He had four brothers, three older and one younger, and all wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps and be merchants. That was not what Reeko wanted however, he wanted to be a hero like the ones in the stories that were told in hushed voices about the Rebel Alliance and the ragtag men and women who overthrew an evil empire. From a young age Reeko would often be in trouble for trying to do heroic deeds which usually ended in either damaged property or him getting beaten up by other kids. His parents despaired at his wild streak, they wanted him to settle down and behave like his brothers but nothing they did seemed to make a difference. Eventually he was sent to work on his uncle’s (father’s brother) moisture farm near Mos Eisley, his parents thought the hard work would help discipline him and set him straight.
The only thing that the relocation did was introduce him to the cesspit that was Mos Eisley. Reeko fell in with a group of street kids in Mos Eisley and began taking part in petty criminal activities, all the while acting as if he was a revolutionary fighter, making a stand against the evil empire and their agents. In reality he was just another street rat who stole from merchant stalls when the owners were distracted. As he grew up the criminal activities he took part in matured as well, theft turned to robbery and his dreams of being a hero began to wane, he was more interested in being a famous outlaw now. Unfortunately for him he came to a realisation when he became involved in his first serious violent confrontation, he was a coward. He hated fights and he managed to hide himself away until it was over, only making an appearance after hostilities were over to join in the glory of the victors.
When Reeko turned 18 he witnessed a bounty hunter capturing a man in one of Mos Eisley’s notorious cantinas. He was so impressed by the man that he dropped his ambitions of being a famous outlaw and instead decided he was going to be a famous bounty hunter. He teamed up with a few other would-be bounty hunters and signed on to capture a bandit and killer who had fled into the desert and set up a lair in a cave. The young men all went out together full of bravado and confidence but when the found the man it turned out that they were in over their heads, the bandit was a seasoned killer and they had no idea what they were doing. As the others died around him, Reeko hid behind a rocky outcrop in terror. He knew he would have to do something but he was barely able to prevent himself from soiling his trousers. Eventually he closed his eyes tight and stuck his carbine over the rock and opened fire wildly, in a stroke of pure luck one of the shots managed to catch a thermal detonator at the belt of one of his dead colleagues. The resulting explosion caused the cave to collapse and one of the falling rocks knocked the bandit out cold. After several minutes Reeko eventually managed to open his eyes and peer out at the collapsed cave and the unconscious man, he didn’t waste any time and tied the man up tightly and left the rest of his colleagues behind to cash the bounty in on his own.
Reeko carried out a number of other jobs on Tatooine, usually with groups of other new bounty hunters who he would eventually betray or abandon to reap the entire reward himself. Eventually he decided to take a break from bounty hunting in case people started to wonder why he was always going out in groups and returning on his own so he decided to try his hand at Sabacc, he quickly learned how to cheat and moved from cantina to cantina to get as much as he could. Eventually he won a battered old freighter ship, he intended to put together some money to repair some of the vital components and then sell it for an inflated price to one of the ignorant moisture farmers or miners. He took on one more bounty hunting job, this time it was put out by Mahuva the Hutt and offered a good amount for some traitor that had conned the Hutt out of money, the best part was that the Hutt was offering an advance of the reward to any men who signed up with his own men as part of a posse of sorts. Signing up with them Reeko intended to use his usual tactics, hide and let the others do the work after which he would betray them and take the whole bounty for himself. Unfortunately this time the bounty overpowered the men he was with and he was left alone, when he realised his situation he immediately surrendered to the man and begged for his life. The traitor found him so pathetic that he spared his life and basically told him to get out of his sight, Reeko was happy to oblige.
Mahuva the Hutt was furious and demanded that Reeko return the advance he had been given, unfortunately Reeko had already spent it on his dilapidated freighter ship. Making his excuses to the Hutt he went to his ship and escaped off planet, leaving his debt behind. He spent the next few years conning and cheating his way across the galaxy, unfortunately eventually his past came back to haunt him. A Hutt debt collector managed to ambush him in Cloud City on Bespin and took him and his ship back to Tatooine where his debt still waited for him, now with a large amount of interest. Having no credits to his name he was forced at gunpoint to sign on as a worker and general thug for Mahuva the Hutt in order to work off his debt.
Misc: Reeko is unbelievably lucky, he always unwittingly manages to find his way out of even the most ridiculously dangerous situations.

”If you like your humanoids flexible, svelte, enthusiastic, and in multiple shades of red, then the most beautiful people in the galaxy are on Zeltros.” – Ruudi Buundaz
Aelyn Krael; All Guts, No Glory
Age: Twenty Six
Race: Zeltron
Birthplace: ISD Acheron, an Imperial-II Class Star Destroyer
Languages: Basic, Droidspeak, Conversational Huttese
Racial Bonuses: Pheromone Production, Empathy, Increased Metabolism, Second Liver
Skills: Machine Intuition, Slicing, Repair, Demolitions, Handling Mykail, Gambling, Drinking, Snappy Oneliners, Cooking, Mathematics.
Equipment: Hydrospanner, Sabacc Deck, Remote, Flask.
Born to Imperial Senior Captain Chantin Krael and Wing Commander Valora Waji, Aelyn and her twin Mykail spent most of their early childhood moving from ships and station, never staying in one location for more than a few years at a time. Aelyn’s natural aptitude for machines manifested at a young age, landing her in trouble numerous times as she compulsively disassembled and upgraded whatever droids, computers, or weapons she could get her hands on. The twins were educated on post, Aelyn the clear academic of the two.
A series of skirmishes in the Outer Rim lead to the deaths of her parents. In accordance with their wishes, Aelyn and Mykail were put on a civilian transport to Zeltros to stay with their grandparents. Their transport caught a bad case of pirates. Sixteen and en route to the Spice Mines of Kessel, the twins instead elected to throw in with the Terracus Raiders. This, surprisingly, worked.
Four years later, the Raiders met their end at the hands of the inaccurately named Liberators. The Krael twins managed a daring escape to Nar Shaddaa using a hydrospanner, a malfunctioning protocol droid, and a series of well-timed explosions. Things got dicey quick; between Aelyn’s gambling habit and Mykail’s predilection for saying exactly the wrong thing to the wrong people, the twins were soon up to their eyeballs in debt. Within two years, Aelyn and her brother were on the run again, looking for someone Big and Powerful to hide behind.
That Big and Powerful someone ended up being the extremely purple Mahuva the Hutt, an old contact from their time with the Raiders. He ever so generously agreed to buy out their debt… with a moderate interest rate of 23%. With no other options, the twins agreed, and found themselves in the employ of the Hutt.
“All Zeltrons are obsessed with romance. When they cannot love, they fight. Both are sports to them.” – Lumiya
Mykailos Krael; No Rest for the Wicked
Race: Zeltron
Birthplace: ISD Acheron, an Imperial-II Class Star Destroyer
Languages: Basic, curses in twelve other languages.
Racial Bonuses: Pheromone Production, Empathy, Increased Metabolism, Second Liver
Skills: Dirty Fighting, Ruthlessness, Intimidate, Strategy, Marksman, Navigation, Enhanced Memory, Athleticism, Interrogation, Lie Detection.
Equipment: Imperial Heavy Repeater, Grappling gun, Personal energy shield, Comlink Implant.
Mykail’s childhood was spent in constant flux. The son of two highly decorated Imperial sailors, he and his twin Aelyn found themselves moving almost yearly. Extremely empathetic, even by Zeltron standards, Mykail found the emotional load of the thousands of new people he encountered year after year to be exhausting. The overstimulation made him prone to intense migraines, and consequently extremely irritable.
After the death of his parents, Mykail and Aelyn were put on a transport to Zeltros to live with extended family. Waylaid by pirates, the twins managed to bargain a spot on their crew to avoid being sold into slavery. Mykail had trained on blaster rifles and studied military strategy in his earlier years—as a Terracus Raider, he had the opportunity to put his education to good use. The comradery of the Raiders was powerful enough to drown out the empathetic drain of killing and thieving, and he flourished as he never had before.
Things went to hell when the Raiders were crushed at the hands of the Liberators. Numb with all the death, Mykail was never quite sure how they made it out alive. Nar Shaddaa was an overwhelming place, and Mykail found himself pissing off several dangerous people almost on the daily. Eventually, between his picking fights with better armed mercs and Aelyn’s gambling habit, the pair had to run for it.
With entirely too many mercs on their tails, Mykail and Aelyn ran for Tatooine in a fit of desperation. They bargained with Mahuva the Hutt, an old contact from their days with the Raiders. He ever so generously agreed to buy out their debt… with a moderate interest rate of 23%. With nowhere else to go, the twins agreed. Aelyn was set up in a workshop and a spare rifle shoved in Mykail's hands. Now, he does Mahuva's dirty work, wringing credits out of defaulters and getting answers with judicious use of violence.
