So, just to be sure, the combat suit looks different for each person? Can I use something like http://www.deviantart.com/art/Armour-200846621 for jackal?

Also, in terms of the training room, will there be any objects to use in there? Jackal will be useless if there's nothing to blow up.

It's just a suit to be worn into the arena. It's skin-tight. It probably won't look like a suit of armor. Much of it has kevlar, has padding in certain places, and not as much reinforcement where the joints are.

And to answer your question

1). It won't look like that. Everyone who got a different looking suit either actually either needed one because of their power, or they customized it. But the school won't let you walk into the bitch in battle armor. Jackalyn would just get a standard suit.

2). Yes, everyone will get resources to use their powers.

Ah, but I believe there have been specific changes to each suit depending on the powers of the individual? Jackalyn would need the extra armour if she's going to be making things explode, otherwise the shrapnel will tear her into little bite-sized pieces if she messes up. And she's probably going to mess up a lot. A helmet would be nice too (I notice that someone had a gas mask or similar?) to avoid any brain damage.

It's not -meant- to be horrifically overpowered, it's meant to stop Jackalyn from getting killed by her own power. If the suit's covered the entire body and involves a helmet then it'll be okay, but from what I see it's a bit more like a wetsuit than some proper armour.
