Name: Felix 'Lighting Strike' Cral
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Sometimes ending a fight is as simple as falling to the groundPersonality: Like his electrical name sake, Felix enjoys these paths of least resistance. Easy going and worry free to the point of being called 'Aloof' or 'fool headed' by some. Few slights are harsh enough cause him grief, few troubles to damning to be simple shrugged off. The type to be walking along a town road as the sky begins to pour rain and the extent of his reaction being 'well, guess I'll need to dry clothes off later', and not so much as walk quicker to be free of the weather. Easy to smile, glad to laugh, and difficult to frustrate, that is Felix in a nut shell. Even on a hunt he tends to be fairly bright eyed and relaxed, only gritting his teeth in serious determination once the foe is before him and as soon as battle is finished he is once again a smiling fool.
There are a few things that do get under his skin of course, the biggest of which is simple seeing what he calls 'unfairness'. Not justice mind you, though he does prefer to see the two go hand in hand. He will often go a great length to see fair solutions to problems, even if sometimes they are not technically legal. His most outstanding example of this is mentioned in his equipment section.
Brief Back-story: Felix was raised by a less than ideal father, a minor member in large cities chapter of the thieves guild. He used his son, gifted with the strength of a budding dragonslayer, as leverage to gain power and jobs within the organization. Basically hiring the superhumanly strong boy out as something of an attack dog in cases where muscle was needed, or a scapegoat when a distraction was needed. While Felix meet a good deal of kind people among the thieves guild, his father was not one of them and the bad often far outweighed the good. It wasn't till his father got overly cocky, or perhaps angered the wrong guild members and set up to fail, Felix was never sure which, that they were both captured by the law. Felix's father, for his myriad of violent crimes is in prison to this day while the young boy was looked on with pity and mercy.
At the time he was barely 10 and had been kept so in the dark by his father that he didn't even know what a dragon slayer was. The captain of the guard took responsibility for the boy, all but legally adopting him. He educated the lad, taking time to repair the sociological damage done to him, and also taught him to defend himself. The old battle ax of a city guard undertook a long and length endeavor that likely helped shape felix's obsession of 'fairness', that being undoing or making reparations for a great deal of the crimes he was involved in. 'Boy or no, you did innocent people wrong, and that must be undone to the best of your ability' he always said.
From there he embarked as a budding dragonslayer, exploring the world and further developing his sense of self and personal code of ethics. He was not his blood father, nor was he his adoptive father, and determined to do exactly what he feels is right and fair. A perfect example of this lies with the origins of his weapon.
Felix doesn't hide the fact that he stole the spear from a lord of a town early in his dragon hunting career when the man denied him his pay for his services and further investigation showed him that man was less and honorable and did much to squeeze wealth from the people in his town. He snuck in to the mans treasure and stole a great deal of gold to be given to the people and took the finely crafted, possible magically reinforced spear from the man. He still occasionally gets a bounty hunter on his tail, hired by the still bitter lord.
Abilities: As all dragon slayers are, he his mighty strong compared to a normal human, though in most sense of it he is about average as far as the slayers come, save for one aspect. Even by dragon slayer standards the strength in his legs exceptional. He has yet to meet another slayer his equal in that regard. He can bound high into the air with great precision and ease. It is part of his signature fighting style, able to engage low flying foes by surprise and help force them to the ground or to plunge down on beast from above for deadly blows, hence the name he has gained for himself. he has a seemingly supernatural accuracy for his massive bounds.
Equipment: He wears fairly bland, if rather well kept, light armor. He prefers the lighter types, while heavy armor does not hinder him on the ground it tends to throw off his center of balance during his jumps, and when one is throwing themselves into the air to either intercept a giant monster or land on it, having control of ones orientation is rather important. To help make of for the lack of heavier armor he has a rather sturdy shield, normally kept on his back. He keeps a pair one handed swords on his left hip, weapons he prefers to use on human normal human foes as to not accidentally kill humans with his dargon hunting implement. He is not really all the good with swords, but can overcome them most normal human foes with his superiors strength, but the handicap it provides keeps in line with his sense of fairness.
His weapon for dangerous beasts is his great spear 'Felstar'. A spear ludicrous size the blade of the weapon is about the length and width of most bastard swords. Where the blade ends there is a large cross guard about a foot in length on each side, the ends of which stop at sharpen points good for punching through armor or shields if need be. The shaft of the spear is made of a steel bar that is about 6 feet in length. A hoop is at the butt of the spear where a rope of a chain can be fastened. It is possible enchanted, though Felix stole the weapon and has no idea to access any enchantments that may be present.
