Name: Ravina Curstrut

Why you are in Boros Legion: Ravina decided to join the Legion partly because of her father, mostly because she believes in the righteous priority of the greater good when it comes to upholding the law.

Magic abilities (if any): Ravina does not possess any inherent abilities; however, she does wield a magical, fiery chain that wraps tightly around her left arm.

Personality: Ravina is a person that almost firmly believes in the justice of the law and greater good. She follows almost any order to the letter, and is so utterly ruthless that she will not hesitate to endanger innocent lives in her quest to bring down the corrupt monsters that plague Ravnica’s higher tiers and underbellies. Although renegade in her methods, Ravina treats anyone under or equal with a sort of rugged, concealed kindness, leans towards darker humor when joking around with colleagues, and has a brusque, short way of speaking as a result of her brutally efficient manner. Despite her gruff edges, she bestows rough mercies more-so than she’d like to admit, or show to her superiors. On top of that, she is fully aware of the corruption and power trips of the “cream of the crop”, and utterly despises their abuse of their position. While she is not one to stupidly disobey orders outright, anything that shows to be even slightly inessential to the main objective, such as reducing property and civilian casualties as much as possible, becomes secondary by a long shot. Her flame-hardened drive and unwavering commitment to her reigning philosophy make her a great and terrible figure in the lives of those she crosses, whether friend or foe.

Appearance: Unlike other Boros Legion Commandos, Ravina wears a fairly plain, steel combat armor with no intricate carvings or metalwork to its design. She was the last among many recruits to get her armor, and all the smithies had left was a simple, inordinate set; the woman did not complain, as appearances and strut means little to her. Her skin is of a deep earthy color while her dark ebony hair, tied in neat, tight dreadlocks, is pulled back into a clean ponytail. She dons a basic steel sword at the right side of her hip, for when things get up close and ugly. Much about Ravina’s appearance seems very plain and uninteresting, until one settles their eyes on her left side: a gray iron chain snakes intimidatingly around her left arm, and demonizing her overall aura. The accessory unsettles all who see it, but particularly disturbs the heart strings of those who know the story behind it.

Other: Ravina possesses no innate magical abilities; her chain is the only hint of supernatural influence.

Race: Ogre

Guild: Orzhov, Previously a Part of Rakdos

Why you are in Orzhov: Neil is a huge fan of money and is talented in assassination. Him and the Orzhov are a match made in heaven. He used to work for the Rakdos, accepting odd jobs that mostly entailed beating the tar out of people. However, he was offered a few Orzhov contracts and found the work, and the pay, much more to his liking.

Magic abilities (if any): Not quite a magical ability, but Neil seems to get along with rats. Exceedingly so. In fact, he is often being followed by a small band of rats who feed off of his kills and remove evidence. They are also known for having many highly toxic diseases. It's a convenient relationship that benefits both of them.

Otherwise, Neil has an enchanted lantern that allows him to collect the souls of those he can't catch alive, or more accurately chooses not to. He can control the brightness of the lantern, and can use the surprisingly pure light to blind foes and repel creatures of pure black, but is otherwise harmless. All of the souls he collects go straight to the Orzhov themselves.

Is wealth a super power? He has money. He's a wealthy and single bachelor. Ladies?

Personality: Neil is a greedy son of a gun. He'll work for anyone if they have the scratch, and unfortunately the Orzhov are the guild with the most cash of all. He is cool and confident, and despite the gruesome work he does he always seems to be enjoying himself. It is difficult to earn Neil's respect. You either need a heavy purse, or a seedy reputation. Neil particularly dislikes self righteousness, the Selesnya, Azorious, and Boros guilds in particular. He finds these guilds to be obnoxious, and despite himself whenever he is given a contract to collect the heads of someone from these guilds he takes perverse pleasure in hunting them down.

Just gunna say, and sorry to shit on your character man, but Orcs aren't native to Ravnica and are almost exclusively Red aligned...and thematically the Orzhov wouldn't have an assassin. They deal with money, not blood.

I just realized that the card I totally jacked this art from is an ogre and not an orc. I will fix that.

Also there are examples of the Orzhov sending out hits on people's heads. Cards like Slum Reaper demonstrate this. And even if he isn't hired by the orzhov itself, I'm sure you could reasonably expect some kingpin to have grudges and a lot of disposable income.

Why you are in Izzet:Deciding that other guilds were too simple for him and he was too smart for them, Obaron joined the Izzet as he was among his own his own in terms of intelligence. When he first joined Izzet, he was elected to be one of the Izzet mages modified by Simic mages. He got off light, as several of the other mages were left as nothing but slimes, or mindless babbling fools.

Magic abilities (if any):Counterspell, Fireball, Lightning Strike, Similar spells.

Personality:Obaron is an egotist, feeling that regular humans are too simple for his intelligence. But while he may seem rotten to the core, he has a heart of gold, albeit a very, very small one. When he was younger, he found two baby goblins abandoned in the alleyway near the entrance of the Izzet guild. Picking them up, he named them Rizz and Razz, taking care for and raising them to be mages like him in the Izzet guild.

Appearance:Obaron wears the garb of a regular izzet mage, albeit a bit modified due to being a mutant. On the left side of his face, where a normal eye would be, he instead has two eyes side by side, each covered by headgear. On the right side of his head, he has one normal eye.
Other:He has two adopted goblin children named Rizz and Razz.

(Sidenote: I did take a bit of creative freedom here, but only acted as possible as ravnican universe lore would allow, and since Izzet works for new magical developments and Simic works as bioengineers, it would be possible for them to work together as scientists. Also this is a little barren, if needed I can spruce it up.)

Slum reaper seems more like they are literally collecting souls of the unguilded. Not going out to kill. Besides the Reaper is something they can explicitly control and not a sentient being.

So what I'm gathering is that you don't want me to play as a Orzhov Assassin? Is that it? I don't think it's completely out of the question that such a thing would exist, but you're offering contention so I don't know.

It's up to the GM dude, I'm just giving my opinion on the flavor of the guild you picked. If he were a debt collector that roughed up guys, it'd make more sense for Orzhov.

I say let him be an Orzhov assassin, because some people just can't pay the bills, if you know what I mean.
