Oh damn, I wish I discovered this earlier! Is it too late to make a character sheet?

According to the GM, he hasn't closed the RP yet. So, go ahead make a character.

Alright, I'm gonna read the whole thread first and then try and come up with something that matches the incredible quality of everything I've seen here so far, holy crap.

Biscuits' character is accepted. Please move all accepted characters to the CS thread.

I have half-returned from my work-spree. I do not work the rest of this day or tomorrow, but I open the store (4 AM) for the remainder of the week, and have a double on Friday. My schedule should even out to normal Saturday.

In any case, it appears most of you have not caught up posting anyway.

I had a college interview this morning, with a woman from a very prestigious school who ended up never showing up to our ordained meeting place. That's frustrating.

I was entered in some very prestigious universities at one point. In my experience, the better the rep, the more bullshit they pull and can do so 'cause of the name they carry.

I feel a bit guilty, because as it turned out one of the research lab's freezers exploded so she was on damage control. She showed up after a bit and the interview went fine. So, yeah...

Oh man, don't fret. I used to have interviewers and advisors push off meetings and interviews to go out with colleagues. They're always trying to press their careers; sometimes they don't actually try to achieve in their present job. It makes sense for them, but it can really put a damper on students that are just their "next step" in the chain.

I think she was actually a recent graduate, working toward her Ph.D. She was actually very respectful and chill.

I have no problems with this, though I suspect Shila wouldn't be in charge anymore. Which is probably best for all involved. :P

Some delays from my side caused the collab to take a bit long then expected, but Arch and I are actively working on it.
We should have it up either tonight, or tomorrow.

If Amon's "big reveal" hadn't been such a disappointment, I could agree with you. Instead, I'm going with the Red Lotus being the best.

I'm just waiting on everyone to get caught up so I can introduce Lien and the Swamp.

Because I prefer my evil to be chaotic, destructive, cruel and unwarranted, I will boldly say Vaatu is my favorite Avatar villain. Fueled by a primal, natural desire and nothing else, he embodied what many shows attempt to and fail at. However, in comparing Amon and Zaheer (and/or Red Lotus), I would have to side with Amon. I dislike the spiritualistic capabilities of Zaheer, and despite my highly-rebellious nature, I'm far from an anarchist. I didn't agree with him, I didn't follow his logic and, as someone whom normally roots for and sympathizes with the villains, I felt no remorse for Zaheer. At that, the Red Lotus pissed me off for several reasons, first and foremost being that no one aside from Zaheer even adhered to its principles. Unalaq was using the Red Lotus, and at that acted without the assistance of others. Ming and Ghazan were criminals, not really seeing true anarchy as much as they were merely siding with whomever offered them redemption/freedom. P'Li was in love with Zaheer. But, the characters are never embellished on after that. You don't get to 'feel' their motives or understand why or truly comprehend their depth as characters; they're all just benders with a unique bending style and a desire to dissolve world order. Amon was far different. With Amon, there was depth and a definite plot and it introduced us to the setting and the new politics and the new aspects of being an Avatar. It also showed us the innovative new ways bending can be used as people adapt to it in harsh,. harsh circumstances. Not to mention, I'm a larger fan of smaller plots that don't involve world domination/destruction/revolution/alteration. The ending to the first season had a powerful sense of catharsis and just made the setting the darker version of Avatar that it is.

Needless to say, Season One of Legend of Korra is my favorite by far. I believe its writing is definitely the best and its the most down to Earth.

Haven't actually watched any season beyond season 1 of Korra. Every season with Aang, of course, but nothing after season 1 of Korra.

I gotta say, I think unalaq is my favorite villain. Zaheer woke up one day in prison and was an air bending master so that just peeved me. Amon...yea his revelation was underwhelming. That and I like mind games, unalaq was crafty and manipulative.

For me, personally, I like my villains to have depth. Vaatu and Unalaq both had one-track minds with one, too-simple desire. Amon was amazing because while he had a simple goal, the topic was very complex. As a result, his methods ended up being morally wrong while the results could have been very right. It was a moral grey area that I found fascinating. It was ruined for me by the pettiness of the explanation for why he felt as he did. His dad abused him through forcing his brother and him to be perfect benders, so his solution was to get rid of bending. It was... boring, and as a result it was a huge letdown.

Once I moved in with my grandma, I got some huge doses of spiritual teachings and learned a lot about other cultures. One of the things that really drew me to A;TLA was the distinctly spiritual nature of it all. I think that's part of why I actually really enjoyed Zaheer and the Red Lotus.

Rtron, when it comes to Book 2, you really didn't miss much as far as the characters themselves go. They all kind of became caricatures of themselves which is why I feel like season two kind of sucked, but Book 3 really fixed all of that. The characters got a much-needed dose of development that they weren't able to really get in season 2, and after the first half where it was kind of just... fluffy and a little boring, the second half got dark and interesting and kind of awesome. For me, the last half of season three was so good that I consider it my favorite season even if the first half was just okay.
