Dead cruiser, Gowi and Ded pretty much summed up my feelings on this as well. This game has been active since 2007ish, I dont think you have to worry about a powerset ruining this game.

Fair enough, I just wanted to make sure that I was dealing with a half-reasonable group, here. I'll try to get a CS up when I have better access to a computer.

Oh hey! If this is the same guy who did the Ultimate DC game then I'm down for something with original characters. I don't usually recycle characters from past games, so I'm gonna take a bit to come up with something new. I was thinking maybe plant based mutating abilities. Is that taken?

Oh, thank ye gods this rp is sill alive. You guys were literally my only reason for signing up to the new guild (i've taken the bulk of my rping down to iwakuroleplay.com during the hiatus)

submitting my old character sheet now ^_^

Character you have created: Francois Bianchi
Alias: Legion/Blink

Character Alignment: Walking the Line (though likely to lean on the villainous side)

Identity: Secret

Character Personality: Francois is a pragmatist on the best of days and a ruthless manipulator on the worst. He cares little for anyone or anything besides his own ambitions, though he knows how to pretend that he does. Having discovered his powers and how to utilize them gave him a thrill he couldn't imagine when he compared himself to normal humans, but he world is full of many super powered individuals, and he was far from being the most powerful. He despises the fact that so many supers out there completely outclass him and, feeling that he has mastered his current abilities to their fullest extent, is now on the lookout for any ways possible to either break the ceiling he's hit on his current power, or acquire new and more powerful abilities with which to increase his status. Ultimately, he seeks power simply for power's sake, and will most likely continue to do so as long as there are those who stand above him. As a result he considers himself neither a hero nor a villain.

Uniform/costume: While Fancois does not feel his power is flashy enough that it requires he put on a disguise whenever he uses it, he does have a costume he can put on when he feels discretion is not the best route but wants to keep his identity secret. The costume is composed of a featureless, oval, white porcelain mask with eye slits cut out (he uses red coloured contacts to replace his glasses), a sleeveless, white, skin-tight shirt with a black circle in the middle of the back (he has a white jacket with two black stripes running down the left side of the chest for colder temperatures), and white track pants. He also wears black savate shoes with no socks on and fingerless black gloves. These two accessories are chosen so as to help him in close quarters combat, while only minimally hampering usage of his ability (he can simply kick off the slippers if he needs to use his power through his foot, for example).

His weapons of choice are two black Canne de Combat sticks (often shortened down to cannes) that can be joined together at the pommels in order to make a quarterstaff. when separated the two cannes can be horizontally sheathed in holsters hanging at the small of his back.

Origin Info/Details: Francois is born to a French mother and an Italian father, named after his maternal grandfather Francois Dubois. For most of his life he was a mostly unassuming youth. He was always intelligent, allowing him to pass highschool with above average grades, and was charismatic enough to be held in high opinion by most of his peers, but throughout his life Francois found it difficult to connect to other people. He didn't know if it was because he found his parents to be distant with him as he was growing up or if his above average intellect isolated him from others his age (whom he often considered woefully immature), but Francois never felt he truly had what others consider 'friends'. Oh, he had people he socialized and went out with, even some whose company he genuinely preferred over others', but he never felt he could really depend or rely on anyone but himself, he didn't ever understand what others meant when they said that they could trust someone else with their greatest secrets or weaknesses. This, of course, also extended to his romantic relationships and, beyond a few girlfriends in highschool, he found the dynamics of interacting with a significant other to be too bothersome to ever really invest any effort into them, resulting in short relationships and eventually his decision to ignore the opposite sex altogether. ultimately Francois felt himself to be a solitary man and, surprisingly, was completely alright with that. Not only did he feel incapable of truly connecting to others, he felt no need to do so either. He was the only person he needed to trust, and social interaction was a nice diversion or source of entertainment when he as bored.

He likely would have continued to live a normal, content, unassuming life, emotionally isolated from everything around him while maintaining appearances for practicality's sake. He would have, were it not for a twist of fate that occurred shortly after his 19th birthday. It was during a family vacation in Rome where Francois and his parents were visiting relatives of his father's when the young man came across the most interesting of scenes one night.

While taking a stroll outside in order to get a break from the rowdiness of his Italian relatives and their jubilation, Francois found himself wandering into a art of town that was strangely deserted, seeming completely lifeless. Lifeless, save for the sounds of a battle of some sort taking place nearby. His curiosity getting the better of him, Francois directed himself towards the sounds of the clash, navigating the unfamiliar streets as best he could while trying to void getting lost. Before he could actually arrive on the scene of the battle, however, one of the likely combatants came to him instead. The sounds of the clash had quieted down for a few moments, making Francois believe he may have missed the fight, until a man clad in white and gold turned the corner in front of him. At least, Francois deduced that he SHOULD have been clad in white and gold, were it not for the red stains that covered his person, including one particularly dark red blot that was spreading from his side. Francois had heard of superheroes and the like running around of course, who hadn't? But this was his first time seeing one in person, and it was clear the man was gravely injured. The man looked surprised to see that Francois was even there, most likely due to the deserted state of the city block, but seemed to see a chance in Francois. He held out a small black orb he had been holding, an archaic glyph engraved on it, and told Francis to take the stone and run as far away from the place as he could, to give it up only when agents bearing the mark of the Vatican came looking for it.

Not exactly thinking, somewhat overwhelmed by the sudden development, Francois complied with the man's demand (most likely his dying request) and took the orb in his hand. When he did, however, the orb suddenly started glowing, becoming an intense ball of light in his hands that made him shield his eyes. When the flash subsided, the orb was gone and the glyph previously engraved on it was displayed prominently on the back of Francois' right hand in an ethereal glow. The white clad man in front of him gave Francois a horrified look and, deciding this was all too much to handle, Francois ran away as fast as he could, sprinting back the way he came and not stopping until he'd regained his relatives' house. Inside, he headed straight for the guest room he had been given without acknowledging any of his family members.

He looked at his right hand again but found that the glyph had disappeared. for a moment he felt a sense of relief, but was quickly hit with a massive wave of vertigo and stumbled forward, loosing his balance and falling to the floor, loosing consciousness quickly after. However, his rest was not a peaceful one, as throughout the night he was visited by ghostly apparitions and terrifying shadows in his dreams.

When he woke up the next morning, he could not remember what he had dreamt, recalling only vague images and obscure moments. Inexplicably, however, he did possess new knowledge he didn't have the night before. Suddenly, without understanding how, he knew what power he had been given the day before, and how to use it. He held out his right hand and, out of thin air, appeared a naked, exact duplicate of himself. Suddenly he felt a 'connection' in his mind, everything his duplicate saw, heard, and though, all was suddenly shared with him, and he knew that the duplicate also possessed all of his thoughts, memories and knowledge. The shock to his senses was too great and he was overcome by a wave of nausea before the sudden doubling of the information his mind had to process at once. He had to close his eyes and try to calm himself to stop from vomiting. Once he was calm he began to realize that processing all the information wasn't as hard as it should be. for his conscious mind, the experience was new and nauseating, but his brain was handling the task perfectly in term of actual processing. No, not his brain, his 'brains', 'their' brains. He realized that he was connected to his other self standing before him like computers networked together. Slowly, he opened his eyes and looked at his replication, his features and expressions mirroring his perfectly, both of the boys smiling devilishly and speaking in unity the power that they had been given; 'Legion'.

Francois erased his duplicate and got to work seeing what else he could duplicate, testing the limits of his power. Never had he felt so alive. This power gave him a rush he had never even dreamed about before. Now he was something different, now he was special, now he lived above the droning, boring peers that he had to force himself to be around previously. He had now a taste of power, and he wanted more.

After experimenting with his powers initially in his room, Francois calmed himself down and decided that it was best to be discrete of his abilities, at least for the moment. He didn't use the Power of Legion anymore for the remainder of the vacation and the men from the Vatican that the hero clad in white spoke of never made their appearance.

Hero Type (Select one): Mystic/Supernatural

Power Level (Select one below): B. City Level

Powers (Be Specific):
Francois' ability is as follows, he has the power of 'Legion', that is; he has the ability to be many.

To be more specific, he has the ability to copy himself as well as things he touches indefinitely. What makes him different from the standard copy hero is that, should he and one of his doppelgangers stand side by side, neither of them is the 'real' one. Each one of his copies would be just as much 'him' as the rest, and even if you killed the original, it would not erase the copies, only by eliminating every single one of 'him' that exists could you actually kill him. He and his copies' brains are also linked in a wireless cerebral network, so everything that one knows and sees, the rest know and see as well (however, the network connection can be interrupted, either by displacing one Francois far enough away from the others that their brain waves can't reach one another, or by finding out the exact electromagnetic signal they use to link up wirelessly and disrupting it).

The beauty of his ability is that, while he can only extend the power of legion to himself and things he touches, once he has made something else legion, he can chose which copy becomes the 'real' one, and can delete excess copies at his leisure.

An example of this is; say that someone is about to shoot him with a gun, he could create a copy of himself standing directly to his left and, in the same instant the copy is created, delete his 'original' body that was standing in the bullet's path, (making it look like he teleported a short distance to dodge the bullet to the untrained eye). Or, in the example that he is about to get hit with a much slower projectile by comparison like a missile; he could put his hand directly in the missile's trajectory and set his power to activate the moment it makes contact with his palm, creating a duplicate behind him while erasing the one in front of him, (making it appear as if he teleported the missile behind him as it continues its trajectory).

It is impossible for him to extend the power of legion over living animals larger than a large dog (so of course impossible for him to affect other people) and still difficult for him to replicate whole living organisms that are smaller than such, requiring maintained contact with the thing he wants to replicate for about 15 seconds. He can, however, replicate PARTS of living things with less difficulty. That catch is though that they have to be full parts as understood by the human mind.

For example, while he can replicate/erase himself and moderately sized inanimate objects nearly instantaneously, if he were to catch an opponent's fist in his hand, he woudl have to hold onto it for 5 seconds if he wanted to replicate the person's fingers, making them appear somewhere else, leaving him capable of erasing the ones still attached to that opponent's hand. He woudl need to hold on for 10 seconds if he wanted to replicate/erase the whole hand. However, holding on for 7 seconds would not allow him to replicate/erase all the fingers and 'part of the palm' because that would not be the 'whole hand' as understood by the human mind. He's also incapable of affecting bones or internal organs without affecting the flesh around them unless he is capable of directly touching said internal structure (say, via open wound)

There is also a limit to how big an inanimate object can be before he also needs to maintain contact with it for several seconds before being able to extend his power over it. A small car or an empty dumpster, for example, would take about 5 seconds of maintained contact. Larger cars like pick up truck or a full dumpster would require 10 seconds, and something like a tank would take somewhere around 25 seconds. Anything bigger (like, say, a house or other building) is beyond his abilities. The size of the object also determines how many copies can be made in quick succession. Objects requiring maintained contact can usually only be replicated one (two at best) at a time. The copies themselves can also only be created within a 3 Meter radius of either the original or any other existing copy (so no catching a grenade thrown at him and then 'teleporting' it back to the guy who threw it from 20 feet away, not instantaneously anyways).

Besides his Power of Legion, Francois has no other special traits. His body isn't super strong or super fast by any means (though, yes, he can use his ability to quickly displace himself from one location to another through usage of his ability), he can still die from anything that would kill a regular human, and he of course has no flight or any secondary super power. The only thing one could consider a super-trait is that, when there are several of him nearby, their networked brains can process information much faster than normal. The more of him at work (thus the more brains networked together), the greater his intelligence. However, one should also note that this is limited entirely to his processing abilities, meaning he can resolve problems more quickly and look at a problem from more than one perspective at a time, but any problem that is beyond his ability to solve by himself, were he given an unlimited amount of time (for example, a math equation that only engineers at MIT would have been taught the formulas needed to solve it) would still remain beyond his means (so, no matter how much he can increase his 'intellect' he is still ultimately limited by his 'knowledge').

Attributes:

Strength Level: Normal Human

Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human

Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human

Agility: Normal Human

Intelligence: Average (by default but can be increased by networking multiple of his brains together)

Fighting Skill: Trained

Resources: Minimal (I imagine this is what one would describe the resources available to the average college-aged young man)

Weaknesses: see the powers section

Supporting Characters: he has a mother and father in france but besides that, no.

New thing for me, I've gone ahead and made a genuinely nice character.
I'm a little unsure about the power level, I may have made him too strong (I've put him in the 'world' power level, which is where I want him, but he might be too strong, though the weaknesses section does hopefully account for that), but we'll see.

I also now see that many people have chosen Mystics, I have a different concept that I can use if that is a problem.

Character you have created: William Viridian
Alias: Manticore

Speech Color (Actually say what you're using, don't go "Like this", or what not): Light green

Character Alignment: Hero

Identity: Secret

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she believes in, how they handle situations):

William lacked any sort of unusual challenges or traumatic situations growing up; the most difficult thing he had to do was moving house as a child. In that regard, he was fairly lucky. He grew up in the United Kingdom, and was relatively carefree for much of his life. Nothing dramatic happened to change this attitude, though; he simply started caring about school. Will is very ambitious and driven, rarely doing the best or scoring the highest, but always close and among the best, and at least a bit envious. He tends to be reclusive, shying away from interactions unless he knows he won't be seen as strange for interacting; initiating conversation with a new person is hard, but helping someone who clearly needs it, or making a presentation that he has been told to, is not. Even before his pact was made, William was generally sympathetic towards his friends, and especially now attempts to help whoever he can. In a strange blend of naivety and realism, he acknowledges that the world is not fair, but at the same time strives to fix this, despite the general impossibility of the task.

Always plays as the medic types in video games, is a Paladin in D&D, and Scyther is his favourite pokemon, confusingly.

Uniform/costume:

When actively going out to fight with his abilities, Will can sheath himself in a layer of barriers that, while not providing the same protection as his normal walls of force, function as mirrors to anyone looking at him. It is worth noting that these barriers can be seen through by him.

Origin Info/Details:

He is currently in Lost Haven City, while taking a gap year from studying Aerospace Engineering at the Imperial College of London. In New Haven, he is using his gap year to work as a part time assistant for maths and physics courses in a few different schools in the area, as part of a programme ran by New Haven University.

Will has always been slightly magically attuned, however, this never manifested as the ability to, for example, shoot fire or transform into animals. He can't cast spells. Instead, he could sense and communicate with spirits and minor deities, and derive small amounts of power from them. For the longest time, these spirits had been deprived of ways to interact with the mortal world, as only recently did people with his ability begin to appear. As such, they had as much to learn from him as he did from them. William ended up communicating regularly with a small group of these beings, befriending the entities and trading knowledge about his world in return for knowledge about their realm, which he studiously recorded. One in particular that he became the most attuned to, was a spirit that named itself either 'Champion' or 'Shield', and represented the tendency for (some members of some) sapient races to act selflessly in the defence of others. This attunement manifested in Will being able to sense the emotions of people around him and to conjure defensive shields. As time passed, he stopped deriving any powers from other spirits, until eventually the spirit and the mortal were able to enter into a 'pact'. The pact allowed Will to take a much larger of the spirit's power, in return for certain restrictions. Their goals were already aligned, and to a degree their personalities were starting to blend, making this a mutually beneficial arrangement. This resulted in a semi-permanent binding of the spirit to Will and vice-versa. Will could still commune with other spirits, but no attunement at all would occur unless he separated himself from the spirit, who had taken to calling himself Aegis. The restrictions and powers are all detailed below in the weaknesses and abilities sections respectively.

After the battle with the trilobite demon, Will was able to trace the cult that summoned it by the magical signatures the summoning left. With this significant lead, he began to hunt down and eliminate branches of the cult. With teleportation, a versatile set of powers and back-up from friends, he destroyed roughly a quarter of the cult; however the upper echelons are relatively untouched, and rather than stopping their only-vaguely-understood plan, they have been galvanised into more rapid action. The brutal nature of the cult's activities, combined with Will having to go days without sleep to hound them, led to him fighting more and more in anger. This came to peak in a mission 8 days after the trilobite; where he destroyed a business being used as a front, killing large numbers of cultists but also dozens of uninitiated, innocent new recruits. As soon as he returned to safety, Aegis and Will split, his anger and killing of innocents was unnacceptable to Aegis, while Will could not work with a spirit that gave no leeway for exhaustion and desperation.

It was only a few hours before Will chose a new spirit to merge with; forgoing the slow process with Aegis. This time Will was more jaded and angry, and terrified of what the cult might do. Manticore, a spirit naming itself after the mythological beast, could sympathise with this, as it was a spirit of revenge, heroic violence and ruthlessness- at least, in its own opinion.

Hero Type (Select one):
Mystic

Power Level (Select one below):

C. World Level (Ex. Flash, Superman)

Powers (Be Specific):

Will, as Manticore, has the choice to fully activate his powers and turn into a more powerful form. This takes roughly 15 seconds, spending more than an ~hour in this form causes him to become fatigued exponentially. He must rest outside of this form for at least half the time he spent in it to fully recupertate.

Powers when not in Manticore form-

  • Minor super strength (specified below).

  • Night vision, wide spectrum EM vision (can be 'tuned', letting him see radio or microwave communication, or infrared heat, etc, overlaid on visible light), electroreception, ability to detect emotions in a wide (i.e. city block) area around him, and echolocation.

  • Minor healing factor, allows healing from a stab or bullet wound in ~10 minutes, ~30 if in a vital region.

  • Ability to secrete extremely powerful corrosive acids or bases from pores on hands.

  • Can breath fire, altering between a plasma-cutter like flame extending about a foot from his face, to a flamethrower fit to roast the front of a house. Either of these extremes will tire Will out quickly, a solid minute of breathing fire would use up his capability for roughly an hour.

  • Massive heat resistance, anything less than a lavabath is only a problem for his clothes, significant poison, venom, irritant, sedative, general toxin, radiation and pathogen resistance.

  • Minor resistance to injury via durable skin and bones, effectively always wearing a full-body kevlar suit, while his bones take ~5 times the stress to break.

  • Minor enhanced reflexes (specified below).

  • Identical boosts to memory and intelligence as before.

  • Not so much a power as an alteration, but Will now possess two small boney horns at the crown of his head, these grow during transformation, and are quite well covered by his top-heavy curls.

  • As Manticore:

  • Major super strength (specified below), durability (can safely run through gunfire; a tank cannon, train or moderate explosion would be equivalent to being punched hard as a human), reflexes (specified below), healing factor (wound equivalent to a gunshot on a human would heal in roughly half a minute, 2 minutes in a vital region) and toxin/EM/pathogen resistance.

  • Major increase to how long he can breath fire, and minor increase to maximum temperature and range.

  • Ability to breath smokescreens, could comfortably release enough to match a smoke grenade every few minutes. Gas can be corrosive, choking or an irritant if desired. The gas is heavier than air, and quite difficult to blow away, is effective at blocking all wavelengths of light, has minimal affect on echolocation and little impact on fires.

  • Strength allows him to jump clear over buildings as high as 5 stories, and is generally tough enough that his terminal velocity isn't fast enough to wound him, at least on earth

  • Horns grow to a foot in length, tapering and curving slighty from ~5cm wide at the base to a sharp point. Will grows from 5,11 to 6,3 experiences rapid, visible muscle growth, teeth become sharper and canines enlarge, pupils dilate, facial features become sharper, ears become pointed, his skin takes on a greyish tone and, if he's especially exerting his power, illusory wings on flame appear at his back.

  • Can sprint at 120kmph for up to 10 minutes, or run at 80 for 2 hours.

  • Can punch holes in concrete walls and sheet metal

  • Until recently, Will was attuned to the spirit Aegis, and his powers were the following:
His first, and most minor power, is the ability to passively sense the emotions of those around him. This doesn't function to make him experience these emotions, but essentially lets him know the state of everyone within a few hundred metres at all times. If he focuses, he can extend this range to a specific area or person. The primary function of this is to let him find people in need of help.

He has a selection of powers that let him protect or heal people directly. He projects an aura of healing around him at all times (30m radius sphere), this does not mean that anyone with a wound within this area automatically is healed, but rather, if he entered a section of a battlefield or a disaster, nearby wounded would stop bleeding out and toxins would be massively slowed or stopped so long as he remains. He effectively can stabilise wounded within this aura, and heal minor wounds. He can heal people to a much greater extent and much more rapidly if he can make contact with them, being capable of stitching together flesh, re-setting and mending bones, expunging illness and poison (but not malfunctions native to the body, i.e. genetic diseases or tumours) and even fixing brain damage (though not necessarily restoring memories). He has the ability to isolate as many as ten individuals if there is great need, causing them to temporarily be placed in a pocket dimension where they are in perfect stasis. He can keep as many as ten people in this space for as long as ~ten minutes. Though various magical or technological or otherwise means do exist to remove a person from this stasis, in most cases it allows him to take someone out of harms way- may they be a hostage or an innocent bystander- for a short while. This power will not work on anyone hostile towards him, and people entered into stasis can leave whenever they wish, regardless of Will's desire.

William can conjure up barriers of energy, which can have grey, blue or silver colouration (the colours have no significance, however). These can take on any shape he desires, though more complex shapes require more concentration. The barriers are entirely non-flexible, they do not bend or yield before the break, and they are stationary (relative to the core of the earth); they either absorb the damage being thrown their way or they shatter, fading to faintly glowing dust. The more he wants to summon and the bigger he wants to make the barriers, the more effort is required. In general, the maximum that he can do with these, while still being strong enough to move around and use other powers, would be to make enough barrier to cover four reasonably sized houses. If he was okay with having to contribute nothing else, he could probably cover a tower block, but would effectively be incapacitated while doing so. These barriers can be conjured anywhere that he either has a line of sight upon, or anywhere that is within 15m of him. He cannot summon barriers inside living beings. Directly in front of them while they are travelling at speed is perfectly acceptable, however. He can stop attacks as powerful as a tank cannon, but generally not more than once, though bullets or speeding cars can be blocked more comfortably without him becoming overwhelmed. Telekinetic (but not telepathic) attacks are blocked by these barriers, attempting to attack something behind the barrier will instead cause you to attack the barrier, and it must first be broken.

His only offensive power that isn't less-than-lethal, is the ability to summon a swarm of 'shards'; diamond-shaped ~12cm long objects. These manifest in the air around him, as few as one or as many as 120. He can accelerate them to great speeds, though normally he won't have reason to move them faster than a bullet. He can let them fly around him and direct their path, though once they are outside of his healing aura, he can't control their velocity, and as they are not acted upon by gravity, they will continue to fly until they impact against something or leave the atmosphere, at which point they disintegrate. They are extremely hard, sharp and dense. He very rarely uses this power, for obvious reasons.

For transport, William can create 'gates' to any location he can clearly visualise, though looking at a photo is generally less risky than using his memory. With full concentration, a gate takes half an our of uninterrupted work to create- this is not a tactical power- and functions as a two-way portal. Larger gates are harder to create. He can also create permanent gates, though this takes great familiarity with both ends of the gate, and multiple hours of work. Closing these permanent gates is also nearly as time consuming as making them. The non-permanent gates last for a third of the time he spent creating them, and can be closed at will. These non-permanent gates can also be made in as little as a minute if they are being used to travel to somewhere he can extend his ability to sense emotions to, though gates made by this method last only for a second or two.

Will can attempt to mentally 'dominate' hostiles within his healing aura, though in general, anything above baseline human- whether magical or superpowered- will be resistant to this, any actual telepath will be able to easily block him out and protect others from him. He can affect multiple in-range hostiles at once, and if successful, he can inspire incapacitating levels of fear and panic.
Finally, with eye contact, Will can either calm people or reduce them to a gibbering wreck. This is harder to resist than the mental domination, though again, most superpowered individuals will have a chance at resisting this, plus sunglasses (or visors or smoke or darkness et cetera) entirely block it.

    Other more minor powers-
Enhanced reaction speeds and intelligence, improved general health, can generate a barrier coating that serves as a mirror (and not as a shield) around him, to disguise himself when active (this mirror is a magical effect, it doesn't block light coming in to Will, so light still hits his eyes, but just stops it bouncing back more than a few inches from him, so light from him doesn't reach anything else).

Attributes (Select one at each category):

    Strength Level:
    Will- 10, tons
    Manticore- 90 tons

    Speed/Reaction Timing Level:
    Will- 20 MPH
    Manticore- 80 MPH

    Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort:
    Will- 2
    Manticore- 5

    Agility:
    Will- 5X,
    Manticore- 5x

    Training: Untrained

    Resources: Minimal

    Weaknesses:

Only has normal defence against mental attacks i.e. telepathy, no defence against incorporeal foes (aside from outrunning them and hoping he can grab a hostage they care about before they catch up), rapid fatiguing in Manticore form after an hour of activity, stands out very visibly in terms of magical signatures.

Supporting Characters (Does your character have a significant other? A mother? Friend? Who are they, what do they have to do with your character?):

While William did have a old friends and was dating before moving, for all practical purposes those people can't be supporting characters, so he is quite limited in this regard. However, there are some.

    Connor Cobbler-
Friend, maybe a criminal? Frequently acquires new and expensive items while being very vague about his job, and Will distinctly remembers getting one of his friends arrested. Still reliable, in his own way.

    Jonathon Mautner-
Leader of a local Synagogue; known via Will's D&D group and various charity events. Useful for connections, plays a more than decent Barbarian and cooks well.

    Luke Stitch-
Roommate, friend, frequently confided in (Luke is the only one who knows Will's other identity, Will is the only one who knows that Luke can't ride a bike).

    Mahakali Guneta-
Known via the programme through which Will is a TA. Studies Chemical Engineering, not much else to say.

    Cedric Agyeman-
Ghanan medical student, part of a group of four (including Will) magically attuned or capable people who managed to locate each other. They small group has only detected one other similar group in the city (though there are many other magically capable individuals), and as such take it upon themselves to try and combat astral or magical threats to the city, or mortal threats to the various spirits that reside in the area. The essentially try to ease any friction between mortals and spirits in 'their' area.

Disjointed thoughts floated about, colliding and combining; the back of Will's mind was allowed free reign over the figurative front while he slept.
A white light cut through the hazy chaos of the dream, quickly pushing away everything else and snapping into focus. The light came from a lightbulb, attached to nothing and held in a hand- Will then realised he was looking at Cedric.

'...Why are you projecting here? Something important, right?'

'I don't tend to invade dreams without a good reason, so yes.'

'You don't need to be so curt, do you know how tired I am? I'm literally asleep.' muttered Will.

'Everyone is but me. Anyway, we've not much time, and you'll be the most useful for this. Wake up, I'll explain.'

'Sure.' Will raised a hand to say goodbye, as the world fell away from them, and he found himself back in his bed. He had hoped for a moment to collect himself, but his phone was already ringing.

    'Okay, explain now please.'

'Remember two weeks back, when we detected a load of Hate spirits drifting into the area, and we managed to seal them to that painting in Gary's apartment? Yeah, he's been burgled, and I can feel the seal weakening.'

'Ah. That's- yeah. If we can locate it, I can gate in and get it back- plus I can justice the guys who took it and the rest of his stuff, if they're there. Any idea why it is weakening? Do you think they just damaged the painting, or is it deliberate, or did we just seal it poorly?'

'I think a bit of all three. If they get out, we'll have a set of misanthropic spirits running around in the city with hosts to let them cast from, as they'll likely immediately possess the criminals.'

'Mmm, and if it is being weakened in part intentionally, from the outside, then they have at least one magically attuned person. No matter what happens, that guy will be a threat when possessed.'

With nothing more left to say, Cedric merely nodded in reply, accompanying the head motion with the words 'I'm nodding', to account for the fact that they were calling each other. 'Considering you know the item you're looking for, and helped give it the astral signature it has, you should be able to get there immediately, right? Good luck.'

'Yeah. Hopefully before the spirits get out, take control of random people nearby and start killing people.'

With that, Will hung up, moving quickly to put on some shoes before walking to an empty stretch of wall. He reached out for the signature of the binding painting, and found it, and started to trace an archway on the wall.

New thing for me, I've gone ahead and made a genuinely nice character.I'm a little unsure about the power level, I may have made him too strong (I've put him in the 'world' power level, which is where I want him, but he might be too strong, though the weaknesses section does hopefully account for that), but we'll see.I also now see that many people have chosen Mystics, I have a different concept that I can use if that is a problem.Character you have created: William ViridianAlias: AegisSpeech

    Approved.

Though just one question. When you say New Haven, do you mean Lost Haven, or are you referring to another city?

    Character You Have Created
    Joey Marino

    Alias
    The Borrower

    Speech Color
    N/A

    Character Alignment
Villain, subject to change when there are enough villains.

    Identity
    Secret

    Character Personality
Joey is a prime example of the result of bad things happening to a good person. He is a good person at heart, feeling responsible for each of his crimes, and actively avoiding killing when it is possible. In fact, all of his crimes are robbery-based -- he has no desire for vengeance, power, or even bloodlust that many other villains do. However, he has a use for money, and there is little he would not do for enough of it. Although he dislikes killing, if it becomes a question of kill-or-be-killed, Joey would not hesitate to end a life. At face-value, he is a warm person, which he hides completely as The Borrower. He is extremely anxious at times, which takes the form of nightmares and panic attacks.

    Uniform/costume

The Borrower's energy blasts take on a blue-ish color, which he has modeled his costume off. The darker colors are designed to attract solar energy to charge himself with, whereas the blue areas are made of fire-retardant kevlar. His boots are shock resistant, allowing him to escape large falls unscathed. However, his costume lacks any hand protection, as his hands need to be uncovered for his powers to work.

If it wasn't for the anxiety disorder, Joey would be considered quite the catch. He was a track star in high school, and is a strict vegetarian. He trains at a local gym a few times a week, and tries staying at a peak-physical condition. He has a tattoo of the Pisces symbol over his heart, and has very light scars on his palms. His mask hides a very identifiable scar on his forehead he gained during his second robbery.

    Origin Info/Details
Joey was born in Brooksdale, an unassuming neighborhood in Lost Vale, to an unassuming family, The Marinos. Joey went through school with average grades, landing a scholarship in high school for track. Unbeknownst to him, this was when his powers began to evolve. Joey noticed that he never ran especially faster than his competitors, but they would always have difficulty keeping up when they neared him. Later on, he would realise that he was sapping their kinetic energy. Joey would continue to keep his powers hidden for the rest of his life, While learning how to control them in secret. Shortly after enrolling in a local college, Joey met Maria Ramirez. The two were an inseparable couple, with plans of becoming engaged. However, Joey and Maria's relationship would not reach this point. Nearly a year ago, Joey had been driving out of state with Maria on a roadtrip, when they had a near-fatal accident. Joey left unscathed, but Maria was sent into a coma. When they had reached the hospital, Joey was told that the chance of her living was less than 1%, and the fees to keep her alive in the hospital were staggering. Stricken with guilt, Joey turned to crime to fund her maintenance, hoping to eventually find a way to revive her.

    Powers

    Active Energy Absorption
Joey can absorb any type of energy through his palms, almost instantly. By touching a car, he can absorb the electric energy in it's battery, or immediately stop it by absorbing the kinetic energy. He can absorb electric energy by touching power boxes, electric appliances, or even electric-based metahumans. In terms of thermal energy, he can take the thermal energy from living things, as well as from fires and heaters.

    Passive Energy Absorption
Joey does not need to be touching a target to absorb it's energy, but it is much faster when he is. Joey can absorb energy in high doses without realising it, such as bullets fired at him not retaining enough kinetic energy to pierce his skin, or absorbing the electricity from nearby cellphones in use.

    Active Energy Expulsion
Energy that Joey absorbs can be shot out from his palms, in the form of blasts or waves. The energy is a unique combination of whatever he has absorbed, taking the form of blue-ish concussive energy that strikes targets in a physical manner, without burning or shocking them. He can charge these blasts, making them grow in size and strength, and increase in recoil. If Joey charges a blast too much, the recoil can damage him.

    Passive Energy Expulsion
Joey's stored energy can be released without firing his concussive blasts. This energy is emitted without using his palms, and is used to fuel fires, overload machinery, and accelerate his own kinetic energy.

    Weaknesses

    Emotionally Unstable
Joey's response to his girlfriend being in a coma was not to learn a lesson about letting go, but to become a violent criminal with the hopes of reviving her with magic or superscience. This is not a mark of a completely sane person. His anxiety attacks range in intensity from being uncomfortable, to having full-fledged flashbacks and leaving heists halfway through, in complete terror. He is set off with reminders or mentions of his girlfriend. Additionally, telepaths can easily sense his inner depression and anxiety. If Joey was to ever take an evaluation, he would almost immediately be diagnosed with Panic Disorder.

    Overcharge
If Joey charges one of his blasts too much, he can hurt himself. Although this usually takes the form of knockback, or stunning recoil, Joey has the capability to potentially break, or even blow off his arms by overcharging an attack.

    Empathy
Joey has a strong sense of right and wrong, and if situations had been different, the capability to be a great hero. The moments of hesitation he has to kill or injure others can be faults in his crimes.

    Supporting Characters

    Maria Ramirez
Joey's longtime girlfriend, put into a coma nearly a year ago. His crime pays off her medical bills, which he plans on continuing to pay until he can find a way of reviving her.

    "I will never leave you."
Joey cradled Maria's head in his arms, patting her on the back, muffling her sobbing. She had spent the afternoon being scolded by her parents for dating out of her race, with her father promising infidelity and abandonment by Joey. She had practically been disowned for being with him, and he knew this -- It wasn't fear of him leaving that made her cry, but the resentment she received from her family. They had been together for years, though, and this wasn't likely to change. After a few minutes of his consolation, she raised her head from his chest, wiping her tears, and sighing deeply. They stared at each other in the dark, illuminated by the moon, and smiled.
"Don't leave me in this hospital to die, Joey." She whispered into his ear.

Joey woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for air. Another nightmare. He stared at his ceiling for a moment, letting his pulse slow. This was the third nightmare that week. He listened to the quiet tick-tock of his clock, before rolling to his side to check the time. 4:33 AM. The hospital would be opened to visitors in a half-hour. Joey tiredly pulled himself out of bed, letting his feet hit the cold hardwood floor. Pulling a dirty shirt out of his hamper, he wiped the remaining sweat from his forehead. He got dressed quickly, throwing on a hoodie and some jeans. Stepping into the bathroom, he examined himself in the mirror of his medicine cabinet. He looked, unsurprisingly, tired. Opening his medicine cabinet, he twisted open a small orange bottle, tossing two red pills into his mouth. He crushed them up with his teeth, staring into the mirror.

Joey sat in the waiting room, absentmindedly flipping through a home improvement magazine. He strained to read so early in the morning, underneath the fluorescent lights of the hospital. As his name was called, he slowly shuffled to her room. She looked the same as ever, with all of the tubes and wires and machines hooked up to her. It used to be too much for him to handle, but not anymore. He sat by her side, holding on to her hand. He would normally talk to her about his day, whispering into her ear, in the hopes she could hear him. But now, no words would come. He was still too shaken up from his dream. He brushed some of the hair out of her face, dabbing here and there with a napkin to clean her eyes. When it was time for him to leave, he got up, rubbing his face, as if he was waking up. Before stepping out, he whispered to her, the same phrase he had recited countless times.
    "I will never leave you."

@Dead Cruiser: This article might provide some interesting options for a character with psychic powers.

@NMS: When I decide to reveal Raptor's main antagonist, would you prefer me making an application for him?

I wouldn't think so since your antagonist would be your dedicated NPC, no?

Hope everyone liked my first Huxley bit. Any comments, thoughts?

Also I am totally guilty about the Newhaven thing.

The one dilemma I had was whether I wanted to write in the antagonist's perspective or just have it unfold in the Raptor's perspective. Either way, if I don't put up an application, I would definitely put up something within the application for the Raptor (similar to what I did to Zac's girlfriend).

And on your first post, I thought it was fine. To be honest, I'm super excited for this to get started again. I was kind of disappointed that the site went down during Winter Break.

Edit: Also, will we be using the chat room that we used before Roleplayer Guild went down?

Finally came up with a look. When I say Swamp Thing based plant manipulation, I mean he can spawn plants of any kind so long as there's soil/dirt around for something to grow in. His suit makes his body completely made of plant DNA and he can mold and shape his plant self into basic shapes of weapons or armor. He can also create vines from the suit and stretch his arms [all of this is basically Swamp Thing ish, just with a larger weakness to needing soil around his general area for larger plant assaults]. Basically he becomes an adapting plant man. I call him Wildvine...

Working on the rest of his CS now...

Ded, no need to fill out a sheet for the antagonist. As far as the chat...good question. That is something I was going to look into tomorrow.
