Okay I think you're a bit confused (or else its me, because half of this lingo is confusing the shit out of me. I can't understand all these statistics. If you said "the spell is to create a barrier of fire around enemies", then that would be simpler then sending me a complicated link with D&D stats on it. They aren't exactly descriptive when it comes to some things, especially the actual process of casting the spell or what happens when you do it).

Basically, I've asked that whoever uses magic to keep it in basic levels (unless you're somebody with Gandalf like powers, which is okay seeing as how his magic is pretty vague). It also depends on classes. For example, you chose a "Warlock". Well, what kind of magic would be most suitable for yor needs as a warlock? Are you a warlock who specializes in using fire spells (Fireball, Flame Breath, Burning-spray)? Are you a Warlock who knows the inner workings of controlling plant life (Manipulating vines/branches to grab your foes, using leaves to overpower and disarm foes, forcing plants to fire poisonous bulbs at foes)?

If you give me an exact and simplistic name for the types of magic you may want to use (you're only allowed to know two types), then I can help you out more. Right now though, I have no clue what you're talking about.

Personally, as a custom warlock... I could see the following possibilities...

Evoking Hellfire... "Breath-weapons", Blasts, Rays, Orbs, Bolts Barriers and weapon-shaped manifestations of it.
Transmutation of Oneself... like strength, quickness, claws, wings, scales, elemental/poison resistances and faster healing/recovery.
Evoking Areas of Darkness... (coupled with cold perhaps) and have the ability to see through it.
Conjuration... creation of poisons and summoning (at your own risk).
Divination... such as using another's senses, scrying, object reading and aura detection.
Abjurations... such as circles of protection, shields, barriers, dispelling, protection of one's mind.
Enchantments... such as charms, despair, fear, commands, suggestions, geas/quests and domination.
Necromancy... with regards to inflicting life disruption, fatigue, exhaustion, weakening, wracking pain and curses.
Illusions... invisibility, disguises, images of monsters and other false sensory information

I'm working on an illusionist myself- I'd really appreciate it if you left off that last one. I have plans for it. ^^;

Okay, I'm just gonna ask: please stop bringing up necromancy. I've explained that in Garrn, you'll get a one way ticket to hell if you even study or look it up in a BOOK.

Well...in D&D...... (yeah)... the power of true illusionist, can involve mimicking the effects of almost any conjuration or evocation spell to a high degree of partial reality using extradimensional energy. Their illusion spells would likely be easier to cast, last longer, be more difficult to pierce, be more resistant to dispelling, and a prestige class could be "homebrewed" to make them resistant to the use of other spells like true seeing, revelation and illusion purge... perhaps by succeeding at an opposed caster level check.

And besides, even "illusionists" (in D&D) aren't limited to using just illusions.... and probably won't be on Garrn either.

Exactly, but that's D&D. This is an entirely seperate entity living on its own. It borrows occasionally from D&D, but for the most part I think I've done a good job at making this original. No fault of yours, but in the history of Garrn, there's been rules set in place so that any practice of dark magic is prohibited and punishable by death.

You'll see how that ties in with the plot once we get things moving along.

Yeah, sorry I think having the different looks on the same subject (one from an RP viewpoint and the other from a D&D viewpoint) made it difficult, but now the air is hopefully clear ^^

As this RP picks up... might I suggest the players link the names of their characters as they appear in IC posts, to their OOC descriptions on this website (using the "permalink") or any other website they might have.

I know it would make it easier for me to keep track of characters as they die and get replaced... or as new characters are added throughout the story.... especially if people start running multiple characters or make themselves a part of other RPs on this site.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Also, if you Axe off your character, maybe edit the post their sheet is in with the words "DECEASED" at the top. Same goes for if they leave the party.

I'm also planning on introducing a Draenei Mage/Healer of some kind, and a Fungon who will be showing up later in the story (after they get the main quest)

Coolness. This crossover stuff will make things interesting.

I have also homebrewed D&D 3.5 versions of Moogles and Pandaren if you want to include them as well. Heh.
