This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to create a character from a different reality or parallel universe? I have an idea for one but he wouldn't have any knowledge of the future of this reality due to the fact that it was well...alternate.

Second question. Would it be possible to use a character from a different Rp but with a different back story? I was thinking of using an alien hero from a different Rp I'm in but giving him a different back story while letting him keep the same abilities.

Third and final question. Would you allow an alien villain?

Thank you taking the time to look at this. :)

Aliens are not common knowledge in this setting, and no known sapient aliens have appeared on earth.

As for the alternate reality thing, what did you have in mind?

Drat. There goes idea number one xD Time to rethink this. xD

I was thinking of having the last two surviving super humans from a parallel universe arrive on earth. One is a hero by the name of Viralex who has immense super human strength and endurance but is somewhat young and is still learning what his limits are. He is the last surviving hero of his world but despite that, he tries to keep a positive outlook on life and stay humble which is pretty difficult considering what he has seen. He never had a chance to train with anyone and as such is unsure of how to manage his powers.

The Villain I was thinking of introducing is another super human who goes by the name "Strikon." He has the ability to fire extremely powerful energy blasts from his hands and eyes and has a high IQ. High enough to create machines that assisted the villains of his world. What I was thinking was that after the heroes and villains of the alternate world pretty much wiped each other out. Strikon had a thirst for conquest and using his Intelligence creates a device that would allow him to spy on and travel to alternate realities. Viralex managed to find out about the Strikon's plans and the two engaged in a battle that destroyed the machine but the destruction of the machine created an energy wave that transported the two of them to the reality the Rp is based in.

Here's a character, he's kind of a low-level, easily beaten villain who gets redeemed. I banged this out pretty quickly, let me know if there's anything I need to change.

Name: Aaron McPherson / Knight Errant

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: He is a tall and skinny young man with curly hair. His face is odd and not particularly attractive, and has a few cut marks from street fights. When out adventuring, he wears an armored vest and a set of motorcycle gear, and keeps the visor on his helmet closed to conceal his identity. His casual clothes usually consist blue jeans and jacket, both of which are often stained or torn.

Personality: Aaron is laid-back, he doesn't care much for rules or formalities. He has a good sense of humor, and loves to make small talk with just about anyone. He is usually friendly towards strangers, but is quick to anger and prone to rash actions. He tries to do the right thing, but rarely thinks about the consequences of his actions, and is prone to compromising his morals for pragmatic reasons. He has a long history of being on the wrong side of the law, something that troubles him when he stops and thinks about it. Aaron never did well in school, and is ignorant about many basic facts, though he has been known to display flashes of cunning at times.

Skills: Life on the streets has given him some practical experience in hand to hand combat. He is nowhere near expert level, and his brawling style has many flaws, but it is nonetheless effective.

Abilities: Aaron possesses an enchanted shield, a relic that has been passed down through his family for generations. The shield is able to generate forcefields, whose power and versatility is proportional to the moral character of the wielder. Aaron isn't the most upstanding guy, so for now it's limited to stopping conventional weapons and increasing the impact of blows from his shield. In the hands of a righteous person, it would also be capable of projecting the shield far enough to protect others or push objects a few dozen feet away. A person completely lacking in character would find the shield singularly useless.

Equipment: Aaron has his shield. It has a way of magically returning to him if separated, though this takes several hours and could be prevented with other magic. He also has a motorcycle for transportation, and a revolver for self defense.

Brief Backstory: Many generations ago, Aaron's ancestors were entrusted with a blessed shield. They were to be it's guardians, passing it down to the eldest male child and using for heroic purposes. This worked well enough for a few centuries, until Aaron's grandfather was killed in World War 2 before he had the chance to tell his son about the family secret. Aaron's father grew up in one of the poorest parts of Greenfield and without a positive male role-model, eventually becoming involved in organized crime. He was not a good parent to Aaron, who struggled in school and also ran into trouble with the law. Unlike his father, Aaron was troubled by his criminal record, but couldn't see any other way to survive. He dropped out of school and subsisted on a combination of minimum wage jobs, welfare, and petty crimes for several years. He stayed away from his father, ignoring him to avoid getting deeply involved with criminal elements.

One day, his mother contacted him, telling him that his father had mysteriously disappeared, and asking for his help finding him. Aaron searched his father's belongings and found the shield. He learned about its powers when it saved him from getting shot by a mysterious assailant who was waiting for him on his way out of the house. After a few more tests, Aaron became convinced of it's wondrous abilities. He adopted a vigilante persona to aid him in his investigation, and robbed a major drug dealer to get the cash to support himself for a while. The increase in superhuman activity has lead to many opportunities for a man with skills like his and a willingness to break the law, and Aaron will find it tempting to resist all of them, especially if they can help his investigation. As good as this could be for his bank account, Aaron worries about the citizens of the city, and hopes to shield at least some of them from the ensuing chaos.

@Whirlwind: Alright, I'm a bit unsure of her power to be honest. Exactly how effective is it? To what extent do her other abilities work?

The pheromone control? It just makes people like her and be drawn to her. She can't force others to do something against their will if they don't want to do something. Kind of like hypnotism I guess. And the endurance means she can take hits and keep coming, although when blood loss is involved she weak just like any other human. And the agility is basically for dodging bullets and attacks. I promise in a fight she will get injured, but it will probably not be an injury that takes months to recover from.

@Chev: Sorry, I don't think I want to involve that kind of AU, it might be confusing.

@tanderbolt: Accepted.

@UnendingEmpire: Accepted.

@Whirlwind: Alright, that seems like it can be resisted then. And I hardly expect people to go taking injuries that leave their character out of the RP for months. ^^; Accepted.

Name: Dr. Heinrich Geldmar, AKA Professor Primate
Age: 115, current body: 70
Gender: Male
Appearance: Professor Primate is a silverback gorilla with a number of surgical scars around his head. Injections of the Super-Soldier serum have also given him increased musculature and highly advanced motor skills.
Personality: While Professor Primate fulfills many of the criteria for a mad scientist, he also has strict ethical standards.
Skills: He's a neurosurgeon who has, over the course of decades, branched out to other scientific fields. His knowledge of human neurology, engineering, and Weird Science is unmatched.
Abilities: He's a gorilla. A gorilla injected with a super soldier serum that makes him faster than a typical human. He's also the kind of maniac who can perform a brain transplant on himself.
Equipment: Tenure at Berlin University.
Brief Backstory: Heinrich Geldmar was an experimental neurosurgeon working for the Third Reich in World War 2. Not by choice, naturally- but it's pretty hard to avoid working for someone with a gun trained on you constantly. When American soldiers stormed the lab, he was offered amnesty for the war crimes he was forced to commit if he and his colleagues would help the US Army's Weird Science division with the development of a super-soldier serum to counteract the Nazi "Ubermensch" program. Sick of experimenting on humans, the US army gave them a steady supply of gorillas for testing. However, 80% of the chemicals used in the serum's development turned out to be insanely toxic, and those that weren't were so radioactive their mere existence is now banned by at least six articles of the Geneva Convention. This led to an obvious result: most of the scientists that worked for the program were dying of cancer. However, between the fevered madness brought on by his impending death, his skill as a neurosurgeon, and that unique brand of crazy that seems to permeate all German scientists, Heinrich came up with a solution. All that needed to happen was to gather the materials. Luckily, Bonzo the circus ape had shown promise as a subject, surviving the horrid injections. However, he was spectacularly dumb and choked when he tried to swallow a toilet paper roll. This gave Heinrich what he needed, and in the dark of night, storm clouds rolling outside as if to cheer him on, he began his work. That night, with a faithful brain transplant, he was no longer the withering Dr. Heinrich Geldman, Nazi Neurosurgeon. With his transfer into the strong gorilla body, he was reborn as... PROFESSOR PRIMATE!

Name: MAX
Age: 50
Gender: Male
Appearance: "I AM MAX. I CAN NOT BE STOPPED. ONLY INCONVENIENCED."
Personality: MAX is secure in the knowledge that he is the most advanced machine that 1965 has to offer. Devoid of emotion, he seeks to destroy malfunctioning technology, machines that might be used for war, and the vile criminals known as "Commies." He is still bound to the three laws, but he is really good at finding loopholes.
Skills: Despite his outdated technology, MAX has a fundamental understanding of most scientific principles as understood at the time of his creation. While his knowledge pool lacks more recent discoveries, he knows essentially every bit of minutia of every scientific and biological principle available as of his last update in November 1965.
Abilities: MAX is a machine built for one thing: To survive the certainly impending Nuclear Holocaust during the Cold War. To this end, he is constructed entirely of the superalloy Aegium. This then-experimental alloy is incredibly hard to make, its components are incredibly expensive, and most of the supply available during the 20th century went into the construction of this 6-foot-tall robot. Because of his creator's paranoia, MAX is also equipped with a forcefield that prevents incorporeal travel, and the parts of him involved with programming and personality are shielded by alloys that interfere with magic. This renders him, essentially, indestructible- atomic bombs could not harm him. However, invulnerability and enhanced robot strength are the full extent of his abilities, and he can not be modified- to do so would require disassembling him, and it's pretty hard to get through Aegium.
Equipment: Nothing of note.
Brief Backstory: MAX was created during the Cold War by an insane scientist. Not "They stood there and mocked me! THE WHOLE WORLD MOCKED ME!" insane. "Ants live in my skin, government microchips in my cornflakes" insane. Though his assertions on the coming apocalypse seemed to change by the hour ("The shapeshifting reptilian aliens in the houses of power will rise up and bombard the earth with radiation!" "Communist ghosts will possess our machines!" "An army of Wizard Hitler Clones will march against us!"), he was certain the world would be ending very soon. To this end, he created MAX. MAX thought at an unmatched speed of 2.5 Megabytes per second. MAX was named because he was, at the time, the absolute maximum of technology. Granted, that was in 1965. He was built to survive any of the delusional scientist's theoretical apocalypses, then share his expansive knowledge of science with the survivors. Of course, the apocalypse never came, and MAX was left in storage. In 1980, however, he was awakened by a lightning strike. Not recognizing any of the strange technology, he came to the conclusion that all of it was either 1) Communist Trickery or 2) Alien War Machines. This has led to... unfortunate repercussions as the indestructible MAX rampages across the world, destroying advanced technology. Though it is easy enough to capture him, reprogramming him would be impossible- the technology you'd need is either in museums or phased out of production completely.

Name: Alice Pitch, Recall

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Appearance: Alice is small and slight, she isn’t physically intimidating in the slightest. She keeps herself in shape though, and her toned form is evidence enough of that. She wears her dark hair long, but restricts it to a pony tail when in costume, keeping it out of the way. Her costume is a white cat-suit, with blue thigh-high boots, and blue gloves, though these can be removed swiftly if required. She always wears gloves in civilian clothing, afraid of accidentally using her powers and learning things she doesn’t wish to. She masks her face with a simple domino mask, held in place with spirit gum.

Personality: Alice believes she can save everyone, and if she hasn’t then she’s doing something wrong. She’s very hard on herself, and obsessive in her mission to save the world. She won’t listen to the idea that something might be too hard, and it has pushed her close to the edge on more than one occasion. The advantage means she trains non-stop, and spends most of the rest of her time studying her opponents, aided by her own abilities. It’s exceedingly unhealthy, she might be in peak human condition, but unless there’s a villain in action, she rarely leaves her apartment or the dojo. As such, she has almost no social life, sure she talks to other heroes, but she has no friends in her civilian life.

Skills: Aided by her abilities, Alice is an expert in a wide variety of martial arts, she also has a wide knowledge of first aid and basic medical procedures, she has expanded these, but rarely has the opportunity to use anything more advanced, not being a qualified doctor. She is adept at analysing an opponent’s fighting style, and uses this to her advantage in combat situations.

Abilities: Recall has a perfect memory, not pretty good, not eidetic, perfect. She remembers everything in perfect detail, the colour of your shoes, the shadows beneath your eyes, the hair slightly out of place on your forehead, all of it is stored away for later use. In addition to this, she has advanced computational abilities, being able to perceive and process information at a greater rate than normal humans.

That is all nothing compared to her final ability. Recall can read memories from people’s minds. Not from a distance, she needs physical contact, but once that is achieved she can draw memories and experiences from another’s mind, allowing her to acquire skills and knowledge at a rapid rate. This is uncomfortable for the ‘donor’, but not necessarily dangerous. She has used this to rapidly expand her fighting skills, though to her chagrin this was by no means instant. She knew how to perform the moves, but to do so easily, to do so effectively still takes just as much practice as it does for any other martial artist, she just doesn't need someone demonstrating it to her first.

She can also use this ability to wipe the memories from people’s minds, or place others there. This requires a great deal more concentration, and it helps if the victim is willing. Primarily she does this selectively, and only when requested to, removing traumatic experiences from the minds of those who cannot deal with them. She could even in theory completely remove all memory and all experience from someone’s mind and replace them with another set, or simply leave them a vegetable, although she has never tried this, and likely never will. It would also require a great deal of concentration and focus, and would be nigh impossible to achieve in combat or a stressful situation (with permission of the player/GM). She cannot alter her own memory, and she has no idea if eventually she will run out of room, and what might happen to her if that is the case.

Equipment: In her apartment Alice has a not insignificant array of computers, each one worth thousands of dollars, and all dedicated to collecting and collating information on any threats to peace and justice. When she is not at home she usually takes her laptop with her, complete with a live satellite uplink to her apartment so she can access everything even when she’s on an assignment for the IFJ.

Other than that, she’ll only rarely carry equipment when she goes out in costume, and that is only what her analysis of the opponent has told her will be necessary.

Brief Backstory: Alice has not had a pleasant life, but it is because of this perhaps, that she has an obsessive need to make everything right in the world. Bullied in school, she had little to fall back on, her mother dead and her father in a wheelchair, and she was a loner even before the advent of her abilities. She found an escape from the pain, and was committed to a psychiatric unit when it was discovered she was self-harming, but to an extent that may well have caused irreparable damage.

It’s hard to track how exactly she fell from this painful, pathetic life into becoming a respected hero and one of the youngest members of the IFJ. Her abilities manifested when she was thirteen, and before long she was released from the unit, allowed back into normal society, no longer a danger to herself, or so it appeared. Instead she had replaced one outlet with another, and she became a vigilante. Patrolling the streets of Greenfield. It didn’t work, she was still just a girl, and in her first attempt to fight crime was left with a broken arm. Things would have been worse if a nearby hero hadn’t taken notice and stepped in, only managing to make her promise to stay out of trouble if he trained her to be a hero.

That hero did so, and introduced her to the IFJ at the tender age of sixteen. Though Orbit came under severe criticism for his actions, those heroes who actually met and spoke to Recall soon came to sympathise with him.

  • Name: Ran Hoshigane/Mithril

  • Age: 20

  • Gender: Female

  • Appearance: "Ready and armed!~"

  • Personality: Possessing a special exuberance seen in people half her age, Ran is a girl with lots of energy to spare. A person who enjoys being physical, she learns better by doing than by sitting around. Enthusiastic and peppy, she does her best to cheer people up and bring positive energy to wherever she goes. Though easily excitable and rarely ever shy, she has a stubborn side concerning ideals such as fair play, honesty, and morals. Though ditzy, she is quite a bit sharper than she lets on and makes good use of her rather active imagination to get creative in all matters.

  • Skills: Ran is rather good at cooking, drawing, and physical activities such as martial arts. She also has excellent hand eye coordination due to these activities and can speed-read. She's also rather good with electrical and mechanical appliances considering her power.

  • Abilities: Ran is an Esper, or a person with heightened brain activities in certain areas. In her case, she gains schematics of various blackbox technologies that flashes into her head, allowing her an almost impossible affinity for creating inventions that is unable to recreated by all but similar geniuses. In Ran's case, she created biomechanical machines that she has dubbed Variable ARMs though she can also create various other futuristic gadgets and macguyver components together given enough time if not in her Suit.

  • Equipment: Ran has access to the Variable Suit and its many attachments, the Variable ARMs (Armored Self Mechanisms). The Variable Suit is a skintight body armor that protects somewhat from small arms and steel blades while augmenting speed, strength, and reaction time above the regular human limit somewhat. Its true ability though is the ARMs, which can only be activated when connected to the Suit (unless certain failsafes are unlocked for certain people). This allows Ran to access several arm and leg attachments that either boost raw power and strength (Berserker), speed and reaction time (Shinobi), short term healing abilities (Medic) or give her long range capabilities (Arbalest ARMs). She's working on more at the moment for future applications of specific response situations. The downside to her versatile arsenal is that nothing can be worn over the Variable Suit and thus makes her rather squishy by anything that can plow through the defenses it has.

  • Brief Backstory: Ran grew up as a third generation Japanese American in city of San Francisco, where she lived a rather ordinary life up until her junior year in high school, when she developed her Esper power [Blackbox]. Since then, she's been targeted by various people who wants to misuse that ability tucked away in her head and got so fed up with their attempts at brain-hijacking that she created the Variable ARMs to fight them off. One thing led to another and now she is a heroine fighting for Love and Justice.

Is it bothering you in terms of magic etc? If thats the case I can simply put in something about not being able to use it or something? Or maybe brief contact only allows her access to the memories for a short amount of time?

Also in terms of muscle memory (martial arts etc.) She still needs to train, though how to do it is there she isn't perfect right off, though I didn't really explain that, I shall amend it.

Amended, its in the second paragraph of abilities, if that was the issue of course, if its something else I can always affect that?
