Welcome to Circle City. This circular hub of a dueling city has many a feature and location for aspiring Duelists and veterans alike, but perhaps its most notable feature is the local Duel Academy. It's run fairly similar to others; classes are divided up into Slifer Red, Ra Yellow, and Obelisk Blue depending on the duelist's skill. And of course, near the end of every semester, a school-wide tournament is held. All students are welcome to participate.

But that's small news compared to what's been going on for the last six years. See, six years ago marks the beginning of what's being called the Spirit World Collision. What this has caused is an increase in Duel Spirit population in the "real" world, and by effect, more and more duelists have been receiving Spirit Partners. In addition to this, the Spirit World Collision is making Duel Spirits "solid", visible and tangible to people who aren't even partners with the Spirit in question, in essence making them almost a full-blown part of this world. The Duel Spirits in question claim that their own world has been seeing more adverse effects (most notably the complete and utter distortion of time, space, and history), but what's causing it remains unknown, effectively meaning any way of making it stop is also unknown. It's also unknown if it will have any further effects on our world beyond an increase in Duel Spirit population, though there are mixed theories about what could happen next.

For what it's worth, you're a student at Circle City's Duel Academy, and you have a Spirit Partner. And, whether you need the extra credit offered to the winner, you're trying to win a bet, or you signed up just for fun, you're entered in this semester's tournament. This, however, is just the onset of much greater things to come...

Now then, there are a lot of things I need to say, so here goes.

Name: Akio Muzuki-Franklin (double citizenship)

Age: 21

Deck Type: Pure Koa'ki Meiru

Spirit Partner: None.

Ace Card: Koa'ki Meiru Maximus and Koa'ki Meiru Valafar

Frequent Cards: Koa'ki Meiru Urnight, Iron Core Transport Station, Core Blaster, Diamond Core of Koa'ki Meiru, Koa'ki Meiru Boulder and Core Overclock.

Personality: Surly and antisocial, Akio looks like your typical nerd, only without the affable awkwardness or the endearing passion for his hobbies the typical nerd might show. He claims to be interested in biology, physics and informatics, though he's supremely reserved about this. His usual attitude toward other people, both students and professors, is mostly of annoyed indifference with a tinge of superiority, and he acts as if he feels he's the only sane man in a world of idiots.

Bio: Child of mixed American-Japanese parentage, raised in Circle City, as far as everyone knows, Akio led a pretty normal life for a normal kid in Circle City. Rumor is that he wasn't always the antisocial jerk he is today, leading some students to speculate that he was actually brain damaged in an accident, although no one has the smallest clue about what this accident was, or if it even happened. In any case, he went through High School never socializing with anyone, but his good grades made most professors ignore his unsociableness and abrasive personality. After graduating, he inexplicably took an internship at the Duel Academy of Circle City, where he works as an assistant to the professors, despite not having studied there. He's not exactly loved, but most students, except a few, are creeped out enough by him to avoid making jokes to his face. Not that they show this kind of care when he's not around, though: some of the nastiest jokes in the academy are about him.
[More to be revealed during the course of the story]

Anything we missed:

We're full up at the moment, but there's a chance one of our guys won't show up. If he doesn't swing by before Wednesday, have a CS ready for just in case :)
Actually, since I'm having two characters, 7 beats 6 any day. Please do not make me regret this (not that I think that'd be an issue)

I look forward to it.

Don't forget to do the Custom Cards section too :)

EDIT: In other news, the banlist has seen a small update. I've just listed what cards are exempted from the soft limit is all.

Name: Michelle Kine

Age: 16

Deck Type: Fairy

Spirit Partner: Freya, Spirit of Victory

Ace Card: Splendid Venus

Personality: She is bright and cheerful, and can usually be seen with a smile on her face. She will easily strike up a conversation with someone if she feels like it, and attempts to make friends with that person if possible. Dueling is her sole passion, and she spends her free time researching various bits and pieces of information about it. If you get on her bad side, though, with the only sign being when she pushes her glasses up for seemingly no reason, well... let's say she can hold quite the grudge. She sometimes tends to skip instead of walk, which is a sign that she is quite a bit more cheerful than usual. She can be a bit naive, which may lead to her downfall at times, but it usually doesn't bother her. Currently her goal is to become a Pro Duelist. She understands how hard it will be to become one, and puts that understanding into actual hard work.

Bio: Michelle was only 6 years old when she discovered Duel Monsters. She was fascinated by how the monsters looked, and how people used Spell and Trap cards to save themselves or increase their power. She saved her money and always got her cards the first chance she got, eventually making a deck of her own. Of course, being 6 years old, her deck was constructed out of random cards she thought was just cool, so her deck clashed with itself and caused her to lose just about every single Duel she had with her Dueling friends. Still, she was having fun, and that was what really mattered to her when she Dueled.

One day, she found a card on the ground. Not wanting it to go to waste, she picked it up and continued on her way. When she get home, she swore she could hear a voice, but dismissed it as part of her imagination. Then Freya, Spirit of Victory appeared in front of her, startling Michelle quite a bit. After Michelle calmed down, Freya explained how she had been discarded by another Duelist, who had believed that she was weak and worthless. She had been at that spot for days, until Michelle came along and saved her from a life of loneliness and suffering. Since then, they have become close friends and completely inseparable.

Over the years, Michelle's deck improved, and she was able to actually win some, if not most, of her Duels. She even went as far as to enter a Junior Tournament, and she ended up in 3rd place out of 9 other Duelists. Then the Spirit World Collision happened, causing Freya to become solid and visible to everyone. Naturally the news spread like wildfire, from both admiration to nasty rumors that usually died out. Michelle and Freya did their best to pay the event no mind, though, and lived on as they normally did. During this time, she was already enrolled in Circle City's Duel Academy, learning about Dueling.

Scarifar said Gellenduo x 3

Please fix in accordance with the soft limit.
Scarifar said I'd put some here, but apparently yugiohcardmaker has malware on it, and I don't want to risk my computer getting infected. So, I will put them in when that clears.

Some people get warnings, some don't. J-Max (YCM member) said at one point he kept getting malware warnings, but there've been no reports of actual malware happening on the site.

In other news, here's two characters to enjoy :) I'll also drop in an NPC from time to time, but only when the plot demands it.

@UnendingEmpire whoops didn't notice that. It is now edited. I'll put in the custom cards when I get the chance.

EDIT: Got the custom cards in. I also added a "Divine Punishment", a "Zeradias, Herald of Heaven", and a "Ring of Magnetism" to the deck.

Hey Unending. It is awesome that your doing another yugioh RP. I might as well join, if I am able. If not, I will be on my way, but since I took the last hour looking through my hundreds of decks for something to use, I thought I would atleast show my deck/custom cards. And don't worry, I know your going to add at least 3 of the cards to the ban list.

Gotta wonder about Intervention. It's practically a Shi En for spells, which would be detrimental to some decks (including those I've hit in the banlist)

I'll also be scrapping Aura and Carmilla (I'm so good at making up my mind :P) in place of two other character. I'll also be looking over the new archetypes (by which I mean the ones I said "don't use these at all") and could potentially be allowing - in approximate order of likelihood - Necloths, Spirit Beasts, Burning Abyss, and Hermit Youkai. I can't figure out DD for the life of me, so I'm conveniently ignoring them ^_^

EDIT: Banlist updated. Now supports Necloth and Spirit Beast

EDIT2: Sorry Var, but we're already full up. If you'd shown up before Scarifar I'd probably say "fuckit", but Scar already got my "fuckit" +1 to membership ^_^;
If we reach a point where new players are needed/a good idea, I'll be sure you're the first person I contact though. Although we also have one other player...if he doesn't report in by Wednesday, you can take his spot. Get a CS ready for in case that happens.
(though that deck would have been rejected on sight regardless)

Yay for fuckits! Also, I was gonna make it like Secret Village of the Spellcasters, but then I thought, "That's too op to be anything but a field spell, and I've already got the field spell slot taken" , so I tried to nerf it. Intervention still has weaknesses, of course, like Zombie world or those DNA trap cards. And let's not forget that a fairy needs to be on the field, or else it's just a waste of space.

In regards to Burning Abyss and Necloths... Yeah, the former became Tier 1 instantly with just three main deck monsters and Dante, and are pretty much designed to never lose advantage. The latter... Can instantly summon Ritual!Trishula, and get a free Shooting Star Dragon, thanks to the effect of one of their spells.

Don't know enough about the other two, though Spirit Beasts don't seem broken, from my testing. Potentially annoying, but nothing devastating. Though I guess I should note that their Contact Fusion mechanic lets the Fusions split up to avoid Bottomless and stuff. But that's balanced out by the main deck guys only getting 1 special summon each per turn. So... Yeah.

But you've also got some powerful search shenanigans going on too, so it'd be rarer for you not to have one.
I'll be watching how it operates early-game, and if it comes down to it, I may have to ask you to remove it down the line for balance's sake.

EDIT: Yeah, now I remember why I wasn't permitting Necloths. Right-o Not-Gishkis, back to the "nope" list for ya!

Fair enough. I'll try not to make it too op. Chances are, I may not even get to use it in some duels.

Name: Takuya Tatsunagi

Age: 20

Deck Type: Spellbook/Prophecy

Spirit Partner: Strength of Prophecy (he calls her Sophie)

Ace Card: Prophecy Destroyer

Frequent Cards: Prophecy Destroyer, Reaper of Prophecy, Stoic of Prophecy, Spell Book spells.

Personality: Takuya is a fun loving guy. He has always enjoyed dueling and really any game out there. Most days you can find him in his fathers card shop helping out or playing in tournaments. He's proud to wear the Sleifer Red color and enjoying his time at Duel Academy. There are some things that make Takuya not as fun to be around. like when someone starts trash talking his family of starts cheating in a duel.
Things usually go well for him and the one time things didn't go well was because he was in a bit of a depressed mood after getting some terrible news. But thanks to his friends which he values highly he was able to pull himself out of his funk and keep looking onward. Takuya actually dreams od dueling professionally and then owning his fathers card shop.

Bio: Takuya grew up just south of the Duel Academy in the apartment above his fathers card shop. Growing up he was surrounded by the games and cards and so when he got old enough his father gave him is first card, Spellbook of Fate. After a few months of searching and working to pay his dad off Takuya had a deck and even started playing in tournaments. by the time he was 16 Takuya had lost his mother in a car accident. It took months but his friends finally got him to pickup the game and in the final turns of the game just when he was starting to get happier he drew Strength of Prophecy and the card began to glow and shine with a brilliant light, before he knew it Takuya was standing side by side with one of his favorite monsters.
Nowadays Takuya and his spirit partner whom he calls Sophie spend practically all their time together and his old friends even get along with her. While Takuya is in class Sophie usually spends her time helping in the card shop though her advise is a bit radical at times and based on personal opinion rather than gameplay.

Yeah, they're pretty nasty. Looks like I got the weakest deck of all :P
Damn, had I known, I'd have used something a bit scarier, like the Hazy Flame, Gishki or Laval.

Oh well. It's a RP, we just gotta worry about making it epic.
