reaping is an annual event that takes place in every district before each Hunger Games, where the tributes of the upcoming Games are chosen. Each district's escort randomly chooses the name of one male and one female tribute from two separate glass balls. Those picked are then the official tributes for the upcoming Games. To be qualified for a reaping, one must be twelve years old.
The District 12 reapings for the 75th Hunger Games
potential-tribute's name is entered into the reaping one time. The entries are cumulative, so when a possible tribute is thirteen, their name is added one more time. This continues until age 18, when a potential-tribute's name is entered 7 times, or more if they apply for tesserae.
Each age group is contained in roped-off areas in the town square, waiting for someone to be picked. The reapings take place at different times in different districts, so that Capitol citizens can watch them all live on television. Many members of the public, who show little to no sympathy for the potential tributes, often place bets on who will be chosen. Unless someone is already on their deathbed, they receive the death penalty for not attending their district's reaping.
The District 12 reaping takes place in the center of town that is called Hall of Justice. On 74th Hunger Games, escort of District 12, Effie Trinket picked Primrose Everdeen as a "Tribute Girl" and Peeta Mellark as a "Tribute Boy".
The Twist
This games will have three twists. .
Twist 1
The first twist will be that there will be a random spot switch everyday; two random tributes will take the place where the other was standing, sitting, or laying in (or whatever other position they were in). This will occur at 7:00 AM everyday (excluding Sunday; see below).
Twist 2
The second twist is that each tribute has THREE lives. When they die the first two times, they will be reincarnated and will teleport back to their original plate in the cornucopia. The last time, the third, they will be dead; and will not be reincarnated.
Twist 3
The third and final twist is that every week, on Sunday at 7:00 AM, instead of switching, the tributes will all get teleported to a room with no doors, and they will all be immune from getting hurt or dying, so no one will try to kill anybody. They will then vote from the dead tributes OF THAT PAST WEEK who should come back; but they will come back with only one life; not three.
