Okay. Let's let the GM decide what should be done to Whitney...

Wow, I feel like I'm in Roman times now.

I'll take care of Whitney and have her hide right now and later say she's not capable of handling the challenges and just join with the rest of the City, I suppose.

Also post coming later today.

To add my two cents: I agree that this situation would be ideal for killing off Whitney. For both dramatic and circumstantial reasons. I'd figure that all of her belongings would just fizzle out of existence with her death, leaving no dilemma regarding her Pokémon.

Edit: Whoops, missed your post, GS. It's in your hands, of course.

I'm glad Kane decided not to attack Ba'al. I'd hate to have to shoot him and break his electrolarynx. Then he wouldn't be able to talk to anyone.

Yeah, it sure is a good thing that didn’t happen.

Seriously though, attacking anyone would be far too risky. Others would get involved, and you’d end up killing him armed with that laser gun. Unarmed and alone though… I don't know, Ba'al doesn't really seem like the type for hand to hand combat.

If he had his monomolecular blade it would be

More seriously, while he prefers to avoid that sort of thing, he's probably picked it up at some point. And the Goa'uld itself gives Ba'al strength beyond that of a normal human. I'm not sure if it'd be enough to beat Kane, but it wouldn't be an easy fight.

So... Even though it's already been decided that Whitney will live, I'd still like to put my two cents out as well.

Considering the circumstances and the possibility of character development, I'd actually prefer it that Whitney would die. Not only does this make far more sense considering the fact a giant legendary dragon is spewing evil gas everywhere, it would also have a far bigger impact on Felt, Vash and probably a couple of other characters who I can't be bothered to remember and would make for a far more interesting story/future plot points. I mean, sure, the GM decides in the end, but I'm still putting this out here :P.

Killing a character because the person left the RP would be assholish, and I don't agree with a motivation of 'CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT', given that people have known the character for all of... maybe an hour or two. It'd be forced and ridiculous.

Plus killing characters like that is slamming the door in the player's face in case they ever decide to rejoin. Doing that because it gives people a chance to write ANGSTANGSTANGST is wrong. :/

The reason I'm not killing off Whitney is because if her player ever decides to return and use her, she'll be able to do so, yes. Generally player characters are only killed if they request it or if their players perform badly enough to warrant the "falling rock" situation. At least for me.

While I'm on the side that says that killing a character off when they left is a dick move, that doesn't mean I'm on the side that says that killing off characters to provide development is downright bad. A lot of memorable characters and moments stemmed from someone dying. Though I do get why people get pissed off with killing people off just to provide development. I've seen a lot of Linkara's reviews.

Thing is, this isn't the time or place to off someone. Besides, we already killed off someone in this arc so let the development stem from that.

And thus Sorin totally failed to buff Saber or even Archer, because spur-of-the-moment buffs that feel creepy as fuck because he's mostly linked to Black mana. Not that they honestly need it. XD

Could consider the action to take place simultaneously with their attacks. Board-wide buffs are actually where most of Sorin's White alignment comes from, gameplay-wise. Lifelink as an ability is shared by Black and White.

I know, I know; both of them have a life obsession. Black pays it a lot, White makes it a lot. And lifelink can show up anywhere at all. But still, the point is more one of 'Sorin is a creepy bastard and both of them resist magic', combined with the spell itself being a quick thing. Saber's magic immune unless she wants to be affected, Archer can ignore things cast so hastily and still reduces the effects of bigger stuff. Even if it WASN'T so quick, spreading it amongst so many people would dilute the effect. Also, they really don't need physical buffs with their weaponry. XD

Basically, I'm saying that Magic Resistance and Sorin being an untrusted vampire sociopath mean Archer and Saber are unlikely to be buffed.

Then it diverges into M:tG gameplay stuff.

Well, it's only a +1/+0 buff; really the Lifelink is the greater benefit. It's important to remember that just because Sorin cast a spell quickly and over a wide area doesn't mean that it's a weak spell. He's been practicing magic for over six-thousand years, a touch longer than Archer's been at it. Do what thou wilt, though, it's up to you if you want the buff I guess.

Seems like something less than Sanctified Charge, so I doubt it. Plus, except in one very specific case, it operates on a link between casting time and power; an Instant would be resisted more. <.<
