Hi everyone, dropping in here to see if you all have room for another roleplayer. I see the character list is somewhat lengthy so I'd understand if one more is too many.

A little about myself: I also have about 5-6 years of MMORPG experience, so I was naturally drawn towards SAO. I only recently discovered SAO and was hooked immediately after watching a few episode clips on Youtube. I watched the anime series in a weird sequence, starting from the GGO story arc then starting from Episode 1/Season 1, but I find that ending on the conclusion of the ALO arc was a satisfying end for me personally.

About my posting availability: I have some time during evenings to post, otherwise I'm busy during the day. If you guys are willing and able to have me aboard I'll get started planning out my character. :)

The character list is a bad indication, since a number are not active any longer, and some are people's 2nd/3rd characters

Anyway, you are welcome aboard, go ahead and make a character

Thanks! I'll get started very soon. Also wondering, about how much time has passed in the RP world since the beginning? Just a bit of detail I'd like to add to my character's bio.

The first floor boss has a labyrinth which is 20 floors-well areas we shall say, but still in floor one. So all players are still on the first floor. The first floor has not been cleared yet.

Approx. 15 days have passed since the beginning. Most players should be level 7-10, but no higher yet (unless discussed with myself and Ninja)

Ok, I want to get a post up, but don't want it to seem pointless and involving no one which is how most of my posts work out these days and it sucks. So who wants to come to my blacksmith shop?

Original:

Name in Real Life: Natsuki Kawaguchi

In Name Game: Natsumi

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Looks:

Short Bio:
Natsuki is an avid fan of the MMORPG genre and has immersed herself in various virtual worlds. Since her early teen years, Natsuki has almost completely shut herself off from the outside world, using what little free time she has to maintain top grades in school but sacrificing any resemblance of a social life. In the virtual world, Natsuki has made a name for herself as a skilled and ruthless PVPer. Despite the large number of in-game enemies she had made over the years, Natsuki slowly formed a small, closely-knit group of online friends who shared her interests in PVP, moving together as one guild across various MMOs.

When news of the first ever VRMMORPG, Sword Art Online, appeared, Natsuki and her group of friends were ecstatic at the chance at being chosen as one of the 1000 beta testers for the new game. Unfortunately, neither Natsuki or her friends were able to enter the beta testing phase due to the overwhelming number eager beta tester applicants. Despite their disappointment, they all resolved to be first in line to obtain a copy of SAO as soon as full release of the game arrived and recreate their guild in this new world. As SAO's release date approached, Natsuki and her guildmates hunted online for as much information as they could from the game's beta testers to prepare themselves for the game's full launch date.

On the launch date of Sword Art Online and the conclusion of the beta testing phase, due to a strange twist of fate causing her alarm clock to go off an entire hour than expected, Natsuki was the only one in her guild to successfully obtain a copy of the game as well as the NerveGear device. Although her friends were deeply disappointed at once again missing the chance to experience SAO for themselves, Natsuki promised them that she would reform their guild ingame as soon in preparation for their arrival when the game eventually opened up to more players.

Armed with what little available intel she and her friends had managed to gather online from SAO's beta testers, the moment she activated her NerveGear and appeared in the breathtakingly-realistic Town of Beginnings of Sword Art Online, Natsuki wasted no time in making her way directly to the game's best training areas for beginning players. The full-body immersion of the game was difficult for her to get accustomed to at first, but within minutes she was expertly cutting down wild boars and other low-level monsters like it was second nature. However, with the large number of new players entering the game, the low-level training areas quickly became flooded and the monsters scarce. As a veteran PVPer in other MMORPGS, it was simply standard procedure to kill off players who were competing for a leveling area with whatever means available. The defeated player's avatar simply disappeared into an explosion of blue polygons as she moved to the next monster without even a second thought. As all players inside Sword Art Online were forcibly teleported to the game's starting city and found themselves trapped within a twisted death game by the game's creator, Natuski's memory of her first kill would come back to haunt her repeatedly and without mercy.

Personality:
In the real world, Natsuki's outwardly quiet and reserved appearance makes it difficult to determine whether she has an actual personality. She rarely speaks unless directly spoken to, and even then, she tends to answer with one-word replies or possibly a short sentence at most. Inwardly, she is constantly calculating and formulating PVP tactics in whatever MMORPG she is currently involved with. In the virtual world, there is no trace of her real-world personality. While immersed in the virtual world, Natsuki is bold, fearless, and ruthless when dealing with her ingame foes. She tends to stick to a "big picture" view of situations, seeing PVP battles in terms of opposing forces instead of individual players and boss battles in terms of numbers and probabilities. The virtual Natsuki also has a tendency to be incredibly stubborn when faced with seemingly impossible odds when she has her mind set on a goal - she is perfectly willing to fail a task 99 times in a row if there is even a statistical 1% chance of success.

Skills:
Cooking - The effectiveness with which a player can combine ingredients to create varieties of food, some of which can have medicinal properties. Higher level of skill allows the cooking of higher-ranked foods.
Tools Appraisal - The ability to identify the Maker, Style, Damage Level/Defense Level, Name, Enchantments and Durability of a weapon. Higher levels give more information.
Searching - The ability to find players in Hiding. Higher level of skill allows you to find players/monsters hiding.
Hiding - Allows for a person to disappear. Only works on targets that use visual tracking.
Acrobatics - Determines a player's jumping height and the ability to perform aerial maneuvers. Bottom level is the natural jumping height for the Player.
Sprint (Passive & Sword Skill) - This skill is both an activatable burst of speed, and a passive increase in the player's effectiveness at dodging strikes.

After Natsuki's first player-kill, she was forced to live in hiding to avoid any and all contact with players and lived within the wilderness due to her permanently-orange Color Cursor, only sneaking into the nearest town nightly to sleep at an inn in safety. As a result, most of her non-combat skill set is centered on self-sufficiency and survival in the wild, as well as hunting/evasion.

Katana Skills:
Tsujikaze - (1-hit strike) - "Whirlwind" A straight, long-ranged strike.
Tsumujiguruma - (1-hit area strike) - An omnidirectional 360-degree whirling spin.
Fell Crescent - (1-hit strike) - A high-class charge-type sword skill that delivers a downward blow and covers a distance of 4 meters in 0.4 seconds.
Ukifune - (1-hit strike) - Knocks the opponent high into the air.

Combat Skills:
Parry - The ability to use an attack to block an opposing strike. Maximum level makes it possible to destroy an item currently at less than half of the maximum durability; anything with a durability above that will not be damaged.
Battle Healing - Recover low amounts of HP over time during battle. It can be leveled up by constantly getting one's HP into the red zone.

Character Stats:
Level: 9
HP: 1650 (base)
Strength: 24
Agility: 10

Preferred weapon and Armor: Katana, Cloth armor

Natsuki has a preference for unusual character stat builds in the MMOs she plays. Her philosophy behind the stat distribution for her "Natsumi" character is an evasive, long-range, heavy-damage melee fighter that relies on the Acrobatics and Sprint skills to compensate for her lack of protective armor.
PS: I didn't realize how horribad the forum's formatting interface is to work with until I started writing this post. Please bear with me while I fix it up.

Haha, I've gotten use to the forums formatting myself, but yes, it is horrid to work with. I see no issues with your CS, but Ninja see's things I miss. Still, I'm happy to accept!

AWESOME!! ANOTHER NERD!

But, I didn't know we where allowed Katana skills right off the bat. If we are still on floor 1, it is near-impossible that anyone has mastered 1-handed curved sword to be able to unlock Katana skills.

I haven't read it all, since I haven't had the time to yet, but one thing I quickly saw.

After Natsuki's first player-kill, she was forced to live in hiding until her Color Cursor returned to a green color

It has been stated, by the author, that player killing makes a player PERMANENTLY have an orange cursor color. That is that they instantly become a "red" player.

Edit:
Yeah ... people wanted katanas .... so we were lenient on that part

While mostly we are following the series, some aspects are not totally the same. This makes it a little but original. So Latana skills are avaloable. Just a bit of variety

Nobody ever sees a ninja, but a ninja sees everything.... Thanks for catching that mistake about the Color Cursor. I replaced that sentence with this:

After Natsuki's first player-kill, she was forced to live in hiding to avoid any and all contact with players and lived within the wilderness due to her permanently-orange Color Cursor, only sneaking into the nearest town nightly to sleep at an inn in safety. I actually had to re-read the SAO wiki page on the Color Cursor a couple of times to see that even a single player-kill caused a permanent orange icon. Personally I think that's a very weird rule for any MMO but what's canon is canon.

The reason I thought that player-kills caused temporary orange status was that at the time I was re-watching the episode where Kirito and Silica are ambushed by Rosalia, Kirito says something along the lines of "I'm a solo player, I don't care about having an orange cursor for a few days". This whole time I thought that he was basically saying that he was only sparing Rosalia's life to honor the wishes of the guild leader character (who wanted her jailed, not slain), not because he was too afraid to kill someone. So I guess thanks for indirectly clearing up that wrong idea too. :)

Assaulting a green player gives you orange for a couple of days, but actually killing them gives you orange for life. Why hurt and kill have the same colours I don't know. Leaves you wondering if they got that orange accidentally flailing their sword about, or if they gave someone a steel enema.

You are the GM, so .... you should be able to

Also, I think you should of worded it as, Killing = red or orange for life
Sounds like you are saying killing a red/orange gives you a life lol
Also, harming people is included in the stealing and such right?
