You realize how heavy a deer is? Not to mention, if they ended up with a buck or large doe, they would end up likely leaving a good portion out to rot without the right storage or way to haul. Abbie could turn most of it into jerky (and yes, she knows how to do that. :p She was Eden's handy woman when it came to everything, from cooking-though other then Jerky, she sucks at it- to fixing anything from cars to plumbing and housing.) but that would take time which is risky out in the open. she would need to start a fire, find a grill or something to clean then cook the strips after she cut them which since they aren't frozen takes longer. These are part of the problems she knows which is why she's not shot one, despite seeing many juicy ones around. :p

30-300Kg as adults assuming you're talking about males. I doubt Allison or Abbie will want to target those 900lb monsters bucks with a 140lb dog (Yes, Rottweilers get that big). I also never mentioned what kind of game they'd be going after. Diesel might be able to take on a smaller doe, but honestly deer probably wouldn't ever been Allison's target animal. She'd focus more on things like Pheasants, Turkey, rabbits, maybe smaller wild pigs, and maybe even bow fishing depending on the time of the year and if she's willing to attempt. Stuff that she CAN carry back and eat that night. They save scavenging and natural food they come across for long term stuff.

Tony is their survivalist, he can start a fire with a bottle of water (Yes you can do that). I have a feeling they'd get along best with Abbie way better in terms of things in common. Allison being an engineering major (fixes cars and stuff) and Tony having someone who really knows their shit in terms of survival (she's going to blow his mind with the hobo stove). Brick is pretty hesitant with everyone in terms of trust. I'm sure once he warms up to people everyone will be getting a look at some of his talents since I haven't gone into detail about what he does besides break bones for them (he does have other things up his sleeve, 2 mysterious 4 u).

I plan to make the most intimidating member of the trio a great cook, or find the least intimidating thing possible that's actually useful in a zombie apocalypse, and make him be good at that.

I see the beginning of a long friendship between everyone, actually. I can only wonder how everyone will react when Allison announces she is pregnant.

That is, unless Aweena decides my characters no longer tickle his willy and he makes a volcano that spews magma zombies appear beneath one (or two, or all) of my characters. :P

Alone yes Abbie hunted small prey. From bluejays to turkeys, to pigs and fish, even pigeons and rodents like squirrels, opossums, raccoons, and rats. When you’re hungry you stop caring about where your meat comes from. Which I wonder if small game can become slightly scarce because they aren’t the only ones who are hunting it, but then again human population has dwindled down enough and undead, unless the animal’s bleeding or dying, don’t attack them. I figured since it was more subjected to humans, the virus doesn’t have much reason to alter its host line yet if at all. Besides, it’s slightly simpler and allows a secure, realistic food source to a degree.

Though to be honest, Abbie’s use to hunting for a larger group of people other herself, and in addition she’s also from a haven twice, so she normally tends to get the bigger game while hunting with a group as she can preserve it easily and for longer time before she has to gain more. Not to mention it feeds everyone. Eden Haven, her original haven, was a rundown version of what Chico or Reno would’ve been. It depended solely on everyone working together and on low hours of sleep, especially Abs who showed a good talent of making things work against all odds, giving her very flexible sleep hours between the rare 6 to barely 4 which she fixed everything there. So anything above 6 is a dream for her to have. She never volunteered for being the handy woman, just assigned when she ended up fixing a few things around Eden. Due to its isolation, the undead never knew they were there even with trucks. It’s literally miles, and miles of open land in google maps and it is not even where the original Eden town was.

Since we’re going after smaller game, I might have Abbie nail a rabbit with her knife skills. Namely I’ve got creative and luck based thing in mind with that which could be rather nice conversation starting for everyone. Even possible if asked, Abbie could teach someone else how to accurately and properly throw a knife which might help having her tag along.

I would imagine you could, it’s mostly using the sunlight and magnify it to focus on a key spot to heat up, but winter fire starting would be hell due to less light. At least, that is the only way I can think of. You can’t really pour it on and expect it to start, unless you’ve got some key items and ingredients to create a chemical reaction.

And I agree with finding things they have in common. Abbie, unexpectedly, is all over the board with them when it comes to talent and knowledge though she’s still iffy on foraging. Before Eden was slaughtered, Kurtis had only taught her a little and aimed on increasing it when he got back. Sadly didn’t happen so Abbie’s confidence in what is safe to eat in the woods, besides the obvious game, is very lacking sadly. Maybe in exchange for her showing how she made it (yes, she made it herself, she’s a hands on chick) and allowing him to use the hobo stove any time during their travel he could show her the proper way to forage? A mutual exchange which benefit them both. As for Allie, Abbie will likely enjoy talking shop about cars, etc. Though I will admit, I’m not a big car frantic so while Abbie will know what she’s talking about, I will not. Which means it might take me some time to research the stuff. XD As for Brick, I guess he’s going to be someone who will need some work.

If you like mysteries, I could consider restarting the Eden plotline all over again. Namely it never got off the ground due to some problems and Guildfall, I think, which could be fun. Including Abbie, Kurtis, and his crew. Though that means I would have to bring back Kurtis, Remmy, Cash, and Jose into the fold.

I plan to make the most intimidating member of the trio a great cook, or find the least intimidating thing possible that's actually useful in a zombie apocalypse, and make him be good at that.

Good, cause Abbie can’t cook anything besides simple and crude basics. Cooking meat and veggies is one thing, preparing a dish and making it taste good is very much another. Kathrine, her girlfriend, often enjoyed giving her grief over that while survivors often tried to avoid her being the week’s cook and shifted her to other tasks. As for Allie, Abbie was around when Winni was pregnant (Simon’s child btw) so if she displays any morning sickness then likely Abbie will notice this rather quickly and remember Winni’s own experience with it. So brace for a conformation really soon if Abbie notices Allie’s morning sickness. Though part of Abs would be very excited and worried.

However, I aim for Abbie to some point create a Haven of her own in a way. So Allie’s baby, later on, might be a key motivation to push Abbie into that plotline and hopefully slowly take up the mantle of leadership one day. Or rather, have it happen without anyone realizing it. Once they get attached to each other of course.

Namely at some point Abbie’s character role will end when she becomes a bit, bad ass survivor, an elite leader of her own Haven. Most people assume this is a natural thing but I can see her reaching it if given reason and even challenges along the way, weaving a lovely story of survival and conflict in different greys.

That is, unless Aweena decides my characters no longer tickle his willy and he makes a volcano that spews magma zombies appear beneath one (or two, or all) of my characters. :P

I doubt that. She's easily attached to everyone's characters. Once anyone one puts in a vote or other suggestions other then Salt Lake, then I will begin on that post.

@Aweena and Zombie:

Again, big question- Is either of the farmers (or your new one, Aweena) or Coltrane sticking with Abbie? Mainly it affects my intro post to whether I decided to do a small NPC group, or rather have her separated from who is with her. I'm thinking, Jazzy, if you don't mind me using those discovered fresh zombies as remains of Abbie's last group? It might be rather nice twist to discover there might be an owner to the supplies they had gathered and create some fun with that, mainly with the idea of finders/keepers. :P Just a thought. Not sure if I want to use it yet or not. Though a 3th or 4th member would be roaming around due to a nice little conflict to deal with outside the normal, random bandit or undead scenerio. Also, it would be a first in this rp for me.

I'm not dead, or kidnapped as a hostage of IS as some of you might have feared. Currently spending some time with my girlfriend until Sunday and so I've not had much of a chance to post, but to answer Fallen's question - Coltrane can stick with Abbie. Would make the most sense.

I'm going to start up somewhere between Chico and Reno haven. Probably in a super precarious position and/or doing something ridiculously dangerous for no apparent reason... True Cassie style.Gonna start writing it now while I watch the world series and drink delicious beer.

I missed this. You know, Cassie could run into Abbie and Coltrane in Salt Lake City? I wouldn't mind and if I remember right, the pair might've met or missed it by a few moments. Either way I know Kurtis, his sentinels already heard numerous stories about Kurtis's past, would've given an accurate description as well as know about Eden's location. Though no one knows its current condition but Abbie.

@Zombie: Alrighty then. Thanks Zombie, likely I'll start off with Abbie being separated from Coltrane while supply hunting and trying to figure out where the man's went. Aweena, what about you?

@Jazzy: careful what you wish for... I think it can all be worked into my post and should work well. >:}

Well, that was a complete waste of the entire squadron of helicopters and drones I tasked to find you... who apparently are not very good at their jobs. One would think that was the first place they'd have looked. Guess I'll just have to re task them to find Aweena... she could be anywhere in that vast white wasteland she calls Canada.

Also, what kind of crazy deer are you all hunting that are 900lbs? An elk? When I hear "deer" I assume either a whitetail (most common deer in the States) or mule deer, which I would straight up murder for food in an apocalypse.
Even the big bruiser bucks weigh like max 300lbs, half that when you gut them, and half that again for actual edible meaty bits. That's like 75lbs of meat for the biggest one you could possibly find. Realistically I would say, if you know how to properly skin and quarter a deer and didn't ruin some of the meat with whatever you shot it with, you'd get like 30-40lbs of meat. Wouldn't even think twice shooting one.

Still you need to include the additional weigh we are still carrying alongside the deer though as I said, and admit, I've not researched this. Mostly I'm just taking what ever knowledge you all bestow on me until I can establish it as fact. Lazy, I know but still.

There's other things to consider as well. The time and effort to preserve, salt and cook the meat is at least a long process and in this world you likely can't batten down without some safety measures. Without that, that meat won't last long without spoiling and then its not able to be eaten without making someone ill. At least that's what I think. So even with the deer weight being lowered, it still might not be a good idea unless you make a safe spot before hand to prepare the meat. Besides, hauling that deer around is rather tiring over long distances before you can cut into it without a zombie trying to chew your face off. XD You have to give me that at least FF.

I have no qualms against Salt Lake City as a starting point, though damn, you know that Temple is going to have to be defiled. I'm more curious about how long they've made camp there, or if they're just passing through.

Either way, since my character's group is hunting the Pirate Crew, where you start makes no difference. I'll be starting within a reasonable distance, not close enough to come upon them immediately, but not far enough to be more than a couple days off.

Not sure what the status is of the Pirate Crew, but if they've had camp a while this might not be a problem at all. Hunting any big game wouldn't be a big problem if you're a haven or set camp a few days. From the looks of the old IC, I can tell they did quite a bit of roaming, but just throwing it out there that the hunting might respond more to if they're travelling.

I intended for Abbie to have been traveling for the last few months, namely since winter ended and spring began back to Eden. Considering she once drove two days straight, and yes that’s sadly possible with 4 hours once for rest, from Eden to Kansas then I think it’s safer to assume she’s not rushing this trip. However she would be continually on the move with the others though from time to time they would set up camp for a few days. The building tent site would an example of one, which I’m going come up with a backstory to that and put it in Abbie’s post. Though currently, I need to converse with at least Zombie in pm to determined Abbie’s and Coltrane’s memories are in sync. XD

If Brick, Allie, and Tony make camp at some point for a few days then we could end up hunting a deer then? What do you say Jazzy? Can we, please, I want to see Allie and Abbie show off their archery skills! As for the Pirate Crew, I’m not sure who was a part of that small event as it was before I joined and back in one of the other versions of Apoc. You’ll need to ask FreeFaller and Aweena, maybe even Prome, for details about it. At least a summary. I don’t think it’s even known if Abbie’s connected to them, though she has met Simon once for a short and uneventful time.

Sorry...excited, a little to much. *sits sugar hyped self down*

I accept these terms and conditions as long as Brick can go with them, because if not Brick and Tony would probably end up killing each other over a bet they made playing poker and I want to have Brick help out in some way (and be out badass-ed by two girls who are about half his weight each) while Tony and Manu (if he sticks with them) are fapping around building a camp (or something, assuming Tony doesnt kill him with his axe out of a fit of drunken annoyance induced rage first. Come to think of it everyone's in danger of that).

Again, I'm flexible and just about anything you come up with I'll be all for. They'll kill it and all three of them will be dragging it back and then Tony will be like 'wtf are we gonna do with this' and probably will end up hitting someone with a piece of meat. I'm going to come up with a bunch of funny moments over the duration of the RP. Probably the most notable being where they come across a whole stash of weapons and ammo in some back country house and a truck with a really high lift kit or something and then praise the redneck gods for their blessing.

Your bodies best be getting ready.

If you want to take any of the Farmers, you can. I can see Toby deciding he can't let Abbie go off on her own, and so he accompanies her (only to brutally die later on 'cause that's how Aweena rolls). If you want, I can bring him back and write for him? I do miss writing my failed attempts at romance between him and Sam.

Other than Toby, I think everyone else is planted. I decided Sam, Aurora and Chuck went off to recover Danielle*; Winifred's still living in Chico with Lacy, waiting to pop out that baby; and Darius is still working at the hospital, also living with Win and Lacy. Toby's the only one who doesn't have to stay and, truthfully, he wouldn't if he knew Abbie was leaving the group.

*= I have a plot coming up later involving Sam, Aurora and Chuck. Those three I don't want to move.

Well, if it's IC then by all means it should happen and I've got no whims about Toby wanting to go along. Hell, Abbie could be sour about it and despite her reasoning, he stubbornly came along.

As for why Abbie left, I'm going to have it where she was snooping into Danielle's disappearance and got into some deep trouble up until a few months earlier. A few times she had several close and mysterious encounters which made it impossible to ignore they were likely hit attempts. These ranged from purposely leaving her behind on salvage missions (which luckily another group brought her back or Coltrane could've when he noticed she wasn't with them), minor 'muggings', and the last one was when someone had taken a pot shot at her. Naturally it only nicked her but she was laid up for a week while it healed at Darius, and Aurora's mute, orders.

Around about 4 months ago Abbie decided to leave the haven. Namely out of fear but also because of Kurtis, so for about the first two months she bartered, created, worked and gathered the gear she has now. In addition she chartered a ride with about 2-3 folks heading to Colorado Springs haven which would've left soon. (Last time I knew there was a lot of zombies outside the haven gate due to traffic in and out)

So during this time Toby and Coltrane could've learned Abbie's real reason to leave and accompanied her. The chartered group, who I'll name San (Asian woman), Keith (missing), and Hank (guy with the gun), and they traveled along until they got to Salt Lake City.

Toby, Coltrane and Abbie went salvaging in town while the other 3 had set up camp a few days ago.

Keith had been feeling slightly sick, hiding it well, over the last week but since he's not turned they didn't think anything of it. So 2 days ago while they were watching for the salvage group, Keith turns, attacks the other two killing them, then wanders off. Hence is why Jazzy's group finds them like they do.

So Toby, Coltrane and Abbie have spent 2-5 days exploring and searching the town for supplies together which to be honest, it's a large place to search as well as walk. Abbie's got her stuff stashed in the apartment buildings at the 7-11's side because carrying all that stuff at once is rather tiring for her and slows her down. While they are salvaging, Abbie ends up being separated from the group (which would give both Aweena and Zombie time until they could post again) after she tried to escape a zombie by crawling over a fence into a yard. I'll likely start the rp there. After a while she runs into Keith, larger and bulkier, who was infected, and I'll have him chasing Abbie in her post which the others can rescue her. If they want. XD Then we all can go looking for Coltrane and Toby until the Players can post in the IC.

Left 4 Dead has some off the best things in it I swear.

I'm coming up with more Brick insults, and interaction ideas between the group of five (my characters, Manu and Abbie). I get a feelimg this is going to be rediculously fun to write once it really gets going. Most creative zombie kill will have to become a thing.

Example of impending sarcasm and affectionate hatred for one another:

Also, the People of Apocalyptica page has been edited with the final character sheets. Eleven in total. I will start planning each and every single one of their gruesome deaths. You're all welcome.
