You have fallen for pitfall 1 in writing, throwing all the best ideas in immediately. When the stakes are always high you can never get the feeling of progress, and important areas like character development are abandoned in the long run. The other pitfall you stumbled into was sudden introduction. As Wyvern said, without introduction things just seem too disjointed and seem as if you threw them in for entertainment. Maybe that is ok for a movie, which only runs for an hour, but for anything that runs longer subtle hints need to be dropped, starting off minor, to something like spreading rumors before blowing into a proper plot device. Perhaps making this argument against Blitzkreig invasion would have better than logic.

Now, let us take a look at Ark. He introduced a Dark Elf. Say, that Dark Elf seems suspicious! By golly he's an agent of the Empire, who was threatening the Gnoll Tribe to defeat them and make it easier to take over Estermere!

Now through that, I've connected him to the Empire and to the War that is brewing, which say, would give him a motivation to fight the enemy. Because they were jackasses to the Tribe.

... Whiiich I'm gonna do.

I actually thought for a handful of seconds that the elven hunter that got the poor gnoll was Corinne, and he has the wrong perception of her being heartless because she might have been just as pissed about wasting an arrow, but didn't want to kill anything not game, or that she couldn't sell, so even wounding an innocent individual, even if he was beast-like, would kind of suck.
Would be an interesting link to make, but ah, it's covered already I see...
WHERE ARE MY BEARINGS.

Also, Wyvern, why hast thou sent my lover away... <<

Well you are also STILL IN THE VILLAGE. So really couldn't be you. Though the Elf that was captured, could certainly be a pal of yours.

Say what ever happened to Aramil? I was -sure- he was in the bar...

Still in the village yes, but if I'm not mistaken, the forest is where this happened, yes?
Was it very recent? I'm presuming now, but... It could have been from days earlier or summin'. >>
Still. Still still. Aramil? WHO IS ARAMIL. <<

AND WHERE IS PUCKSY.

For the sake of stuff, I'd say it was recent. Also it was out past the forests and into the Gnollish Plains.

Aramil is an Elf Ranger you occasionally see during the hunts in the forest. Nice guy, nice guy. He generally uses a bow and hatchet.

And Benjamin is simply doing tasks!

He isn't kidnapped/turned evil/something that breaks Corinne's heart JUST YET.

Ugh. Once more, my character will fade into being 'background'. Mid-pubescent necromancers have little to do with politics.

Have you ever heard of the SPANISH INQUISITION!? ... Expect a missive for your Trial concerning Heresy.

As the Tribunal is quite, quite, quite, yes.

I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition!

Wait, are you planning to put Liesel on the rack? A bunch of elderly priests, tieing fourteen-year-old female 'heretic' to a rack sounds a little bit... have you ever read Lolita by Vladmir Nabokov.

Torture isn't for eliciting confession, and typically wasn't used often. Really it was used to get information, and make sure the truth was being told.

Don't worry you can represent yourself at trial as per Real Inquisition Tribunals. (Either by getting Witnesses to Testify for you.) Or ruining the character of the other witnesses.

And no, I haven't. I should.

And she'll get tortured.... ONLY IF SHE DOESN'T REVEAL THE TRUTH!

Yeah. Everyone seems to be under the impression Inquisitors didn't care whether you told the truth or lied - you died either way. I don't think it's true. I blame Monty Python.

Ruining character, you say? Mehehe...

Oh no, you really shouldn't. Don't get me wrong, it's masterfully written and it comes from a perspective rarely seen, but Vlad is that bloody descriptive, and I've got a rather... strong imagination. I wish I could unsee.

You can't torture me, I'll just summon the ghosts of past heretics.

Whose truth would that be? We only see the world as we believe it, people don't take no for an answer when they have the power to change it

The best way to prove innocence is to make spirits dance like puppets. At least you're honest!

Sad as I am to say this, I am considering leaving the RP. I'm not doing exactly an amazing job with the storyline, and my players are more committed to this RP than I am. I even have two co-GMs that are doing a way better job at GMing than I am. Also, my parents are concerned about how much time I spend on roleplaying; it eats up a lot of 'reality' time. It's up to you guys if you want to set up a reboot, because I'm not doing it. All these character developments are too valuable to break. Therefore, when I'm gone, I place full trust in IncredibleBee and Professor_Wyvern to govern this RP. You are free to do whatever the hell you want with the RP.

Anyone want to stop me? Before it's too late?

I'm not gonna stop you from leaving but I will say this:

No one is the perfect gm. Everyone needs some help from time to time. If you think that the story you are doing isn't being executed well then talk to your co gms. They are there to help you with planning and can help get the stress off your back in moments like these. What you choose to do is on you. Your co gms will help you out however way they can. Tell them your plans and they can help you come up with ways to introduce it. I won't stop you from leaving and I know my words aren't the best to hear but that's all I got.

If you want to give up, then go.
If you want to get better, work harder.
If you want help, ask for it.
