Hello! And welcome to my interest check traveler! Now I know your probably thinking 'Hmm I wonder what this RP is all about' well I'm here to tell you exactly that!

The RP will take place in a very post apocalyptic earth and I mean very as in the post part that being its a very long time after the world has ended and civilization is started to sink its teeth back into the world. The basic premise is living in a old west town but in the future where we got laser revolvers, makeshift homes, barley operational recycled cyber augmentations, steam trains that run on plasma, bar fights with robots and so much more! I've been working on this world for quite a while now and have quite a few things in that'll attract those of you that like sci-fi and those of you that like the old west. Also there will be a sense of magic to it but not true magic, more along the lines of radiation type magic.

This is just a basic run down but there's tons of stuff to this and I've been dying to give this a whirl in RP so if your interested just show some interest please.

Radiation type magic? That I would like to hear more about. Also, what sort of mood are we hoping for? Is it more akin to Fallout or are we talking about shiny metal suits beneath tattered leather dusters and personal shielding systems? Are we just the frontier folk, forging a new world, on behalf of the giant mega-cities were people escaped the apocalypse?

The feel will be like fallout but a little more up-beat. There won't be any super advanced technology on your average joe such as force fields or death rays but there might be laser guns and metal armour although the armour will probably never be big and bulky like power armour. Also most of the technology is make-shift from older technology like a laser rifle could be made from microwave from before humanity fell.

As for your question on us being frontier folk the answer would be no. The existing 'cities' are still very small even after so many years due to the unforgivingness of the wasteland that humans now find themselves in and most humanity is to scattered to even make an attempt at building a city. The biggest towns population would be somewhere around 800 people so seeing a full blooded human while walking is fairly unlikely. Now onto the cool part about the magic.

Now so far I have two uses for the radiation type magic. The first is a cult of people whom live in a single building way off in the very middle of a wide open plain who are very secretive and most are said to be evil. They all got their power from a single person who had exposure to a unprecedented amount of radiation which allowed them special capabilities that defy some laws of the universe. This person was very powerful and formed the cult from her own followers that sought refuge from the wastes with her. She would give a fraction of her power to certain individuals who in turn gave a fraction of their power to other individual and so on and so forth. That was close to the fall of humanity and now most knowledge about them is a mystery and myth. The second form of the radiation magic I have so far are essentially were-wolf/wolf-man type creatures. This has a bigger affect on average people as the people with this disease are more often than not slaves for rich people and corporations. The disease was originally created when a small dog also survived a unprecedented amount of radiation that lead it to become more intelligent and give the gift/curse of making those who come in contact with its blood people of the wolves. This dog had never been caught and is thought to have died out but legends still say its still around and kicking. Now the disease doesn't work in the standard way of lycanthropy, this happens in stages. In the first week or so the persons canines begin to lengthen and their body hair begins growing out more, in the second week they begin to have more muscle growth and even begin to have a tail stub that is incapable of movement as the brain doesn't have any pathways to get signals to the tail yet. The second stage is the last of the standard slavery stages and is typically used as manual labourers. At the third stage which happens in the fourth week the person begin to radically change into a more bipedal wolf like form growing a snout, functioning tail, claws on hands and feet, incased height and senses and looses the ability to speak properly and use the more human like part of their brain such as facial recognition and such. Along with this third stage werewolves are usually hunted down once they get to this point as under normal circumstances the owner of said person would not want a mindless and ruthless beast running around. Now there is a fourth stage but like many things this is just a legend as no one has seen a werewolf after the third stage but supposedly far off in the irradiated forests to the south there is a pack of these fourth stage werewolves. Fourth stage werewolves have now become more animal than man in appearance as they now resemble a six foot tall wolf human hair but their minds have found a balance between the canine hunting capabilities and the humans intelligence and processing capabilities. It is unknown wether or not they know about their past or if that was wiped out during the third stage. There is a cure for the werewolf process but it is a costly process and could also kill said person. Silver, the highest equivalent of currency on the planet currently can be administered in small doses to absorb the special radiation of the werewolf curse and effectively cure a person of the curse or in smaller doses keep them in the first or second form for slavery purposes. Now alternatively it can be used as an effective weapon against werewolves as a single bullet can force the body of the werewolf to collapse in on the mass of its once human body.

Thats about all I got so far for the radiation magic.

I'm not sure if you can have lasers or technology without some cities. You'd need at least some form of manufacturing base for any technology beyond revolvers and lever action rifles. Maybe some small "cities" of a few thousands of people? Or perhaps all the technology from before is all that there is left and there is no making more? Then you could treat them almost like magical items. Thus, instead of cities you could have "Barter Town" like from Mad Max's Thunderdome. (Chant with me now... Two men enter. One man leaves!)

xD the idea of the small cities is actually pretty good. Maybe I will add some but for the weapons most would be uniquely made by its owner or looted of a persons body so it wouldn't be common to see the same weapon but I guess there should be some mass produced weapons.

Such craftsmanship is quite possible for firearms. During the Wild West there were a number of such gunsmiths that had near legendary reputations. Even today, small companies create incredible variants on mass produced firearms. Just check out the Beowulf .50 caliber M4 rifle.

When I meant manufacturing base I was referring to near-future style weapons like lasers or rather, more likely "plasma". Circuit boards require etching tanks, essentially large vats of acid to work on sheets of silicon (glass) glazed in copper. Microchips are even more insane, with billions of tiny transistors pressed into an incredibly unbelievably small form factor.

Hmm good point. The idea of have places able to produce the microchips and things of the more advanced nature would probably be better come to think of it.

I am interested in this RP. For a time period, how about 500 years after the apocalypse. The plasma or laser technology could be produced in one mini-city that is based around a research center. The people who are there would be scientists who survived after the fall and started their own society. They create this technology to further advancement for life, possibly terraforming Earth to previous conditions. This would most likely be the society where the super rich people live. There are corrupt members of their society who sell/barter this technology to the highest bidders. The ones the technology is sold to would be part of the wild west town (~800 people). Then there would be the single building occupied by the cult who used radiation magic. This magic would be very elementalish and consumed the energy of the people using it. The last "society" would be the far off forest with the stage four werewolves. Since they have the traits of wolves and humans they would consider themselves superior creatures.

The mini-city: This would be in the middle of valley. There's the research center, occupied by scientists, surrounded by fortresses and castles, occupied by the rich people. The houses would be powered by the research center since it produces energy and technology. They would be guarded by the third stage slave werewolves. Second stage werewolves would be the farmers and laborers.

The "western" town: This would be on the plain south of the valley. Arid environment. The town would be based on the barter system. No real law system here. People here would raid tribes that existed around the land for food, goods, etc. I don't have much lore to go for this area. Feel free to elaborate.

The cult: The tower for the cult is in the mountains. The leader would most likely be at the top using his/her magic to power the tower and distributing it to others. Hierarchical system: leader > "family" > elites > specialists > fodder. The leader would have mastered their powers over the last 500 years, can basically do anything. Family would be the first ones to be given the radiation magic. They are very knowledgable and are also the leader's personal guard. Elites would be highly trained in all fields of the radiation powers. Specialists would master one aspect of the powers. fodder would have basic knowledge of one to all of the radiation powers and are, well, fodder, laborers, and servants. (This is my favorite aspect so far and I would most likely create a character in this area of the RP)

Werewolf society: Exist in a forest on the opposite side of the plain from the mountains. They believe they are superior to humans and rivals of the cult. Having lived in secret for so long they have had much time to plan and form a small army. Their time to strike is near. With their knowledge they have created weapons and armor suited for their strength and agility. Because of the radiation in their blood, the weapons and armor would be endowed with special enhancements (example: wearable wolverine like claws can poison, or armor resists energy attacks, etc.).

Ok guys!! Here is the setting of this RP :D

It would be set on a giant island, mountains would surround the edge of the island. The center valley would be a giant desert, say the size of Western US (west coast to Wyoming/mid-texas), with a forest in the northeast. The names in parenthesis are just ideas for the names of the areas, feel free to come up with better ones. I will also write a post detailing the powers of the cult, but basically they would be similar, but not the same, to mutations from X-Men (teleportation, telekinesis, shooting energy, etc.).

The mini-city (Trinish): Northwestern area of the vast desert built around an oasis. The oasis is there because of the river that flows from the mountains into the forest. It would be a highly organized "cowboy" town. City-hall, bank, (small) research center, court, and lots of saloons. This city would be inhabited by descendants of the rich and powerful. They would use second stage werewolves as farmers ands laborers. Third stage werewolves would be the guards and "military" of the city. The people here would be more technologically advanced than the rest of the island, using more energy type weapons and defense than the Western town.

The classic Western town (Los Muerto): This would be on the plain in the southeast. Arid environment. The town would be based on the barter system. No real law system here. People here would raid tribes that existed around the land for food, goods, etc. They would also band together to raid caravans going from the mini-city to the forest. Weapons would be similar to weapons we have today, with personal modifications of course. Some of the more powerful people would have hybrid energy-material weapons because of raiding plus modifications.

The cult (Infinitus): Live in the mountains to the southwest in a fortress set up like a saloon. Basically a city inside the walls. The "bar" would be a row of buildings where people trained, ate, etc. The leader would most likely be in the back at the top using his/her magic to power the city while also distributing it to others. Hierarchical system: leader > "family" > elites > specialists > fodder. The leader would have mastered his/her powers over the last 500 years, can basically do anything. Family would be the ones first given the radiation magic. They are very knowledgable and the leader's personal guard. Elites would be highly trained in all fields of the radiation powers. Specialists would master one power, with basic control of other powers. Fodder would have basic knowledge of one to all of the radiation powers and are, well, fodder, laborers, and servants.

Werewolf society (The Great Forest): Exist in the forest on the northeastern part of the "country." The forest is the only area rich in natural resources. Many times people from other areas come to take these resources. The werewolves have become meta-gaurdians of the forest and wish to protect the natural balance of things. They have primitive traps set up, and their radiation has given them the ability to connect to nature. For example, they can feel when an outside threat enters the forest.
