The year is 1944. The alien menace known as the Neuroi has swept across continental Europe, leaving almost everything from Ostmark to the Gallian coast a scorched wasteland.

Sitting across the water lies Britannia, considered the key foothold in the battle to see Europe freed from this grave threat.

There’s just one problem. The Neuroi are almost impervious to conventional weaponry, with anything less powerful than naval artillery often failing to even scratch their skins.

However, it was soon discovered that there was something that would be effective: Witches. Young girls born aloft by the magic they channel through the engines of devices known as “Striker Units” who had the ability to take on the Neuroi in the air, and even destroy them.

This discovery led to the formation of the Joint Fighter Wings; units of Witches drawn from across the world banded together to fight the Neuroi.

While the story of the 501st’s key role in the liberation of Gallia from their base in the Strait of Dover is probably the most well known, they are far from the only JFW in Britannia.

The Needles Battery, on the Isle of Wight. This old Victorian coastal defence fort now stands as the home of the 514th Joint Fighter Wing, tasked with defending the country against Neuroi incursions from the Hive sitting over Cherbourg and the Channel Islands.
So yeah, it’s my attempt at running a Strike Witches RP. However, given my inexperience at being a GM I’m going to be making this mostly a player-driven RP, at least outside of the combat.
DA RULEZ

  • No Drama. I cannot stress this enough. We’re here to have fun, not to spend page after page arguing with each other over trivial matters.

  • No Godmodding. This should be a given. This also includes ghosting and the like.

  • Keep it PG-13. I know there’s some pretty… sketchy moments in the anime, but let’s try to keep it clean. If the yuri goes beyond a kiss, slam the door or fade to black.

  • Remember, this is Casual, not Free or Advanced. I’m not expecting massive great walls of text in every post, but I do expect coherent English. Preferably at least a paragraph of it.

Magical Ability:
Keiko's inherent magic is called Super Eyesight, which not only improves her dynamic vision but also allows her to look into the distance, much like Sakamoto Mio's Magic Eye. With this ability, she is capable of shooting down even a flying bullet.

Animal Familiar:
Ezo Red Fox

Personality:
Keiko is generally a friendly person who typically wants to be social. She often the peace talker of the group, wanting to resolve conflict between her friends than start it. This, combined with her great sense of patience, makes her very easy to get along with. However there is, of course, a more hidden side of Keiko, one that nobody really sees unless they're very very close to her or she is somehow down two bottles of vodka. Hidden beneath her friendly, calm, patient persona is someone who wants to be loud and blunt. Someone who just wants to say what's on her mind and is just angry at the absurd world she is forced to live in. However nobody comforts the comforter so it just sits there and builds up....

Bio/History:
When her witch powers manifested very early in her life at age twelve, her parents immediately sent her off to Fuso's National Naval Academy. Her whole family line had never had a witch before, thus her parents wanted her to be the most successful witch possible, regardless of what Keiko wanted. Never the less, upon graduation, she was appointed as a Pilot Officer and assigned to the Army's 1st Fighter Squadron, under the command of Wing Commander Etou Toshiko. In this squad, where exceedingly excellent Witches were sent to, she exhibited great skill and strength in their early operations, though it did not last for long. Only after two years of service, she was officially discharged from the Army's 1st Fighter Squadron on accounts of insubordination. Keiko had stopped a superior officer from administering punishment to a fellow insubordinate witch and in turn received her punishment times ten.

From then on, Keiko drifted from one logistics squadron to another until she was around 14 when the war broke out. She was sent in as one of the very first Witches from Fuso to fight in Africa with allied forces. There she got her first taste of real combat, and her witness her first death as well. Her squadron had received poor information of enemy forces and accidentally flew into a particularly well defended section of Neuroi lines. Out of the ten witches that flew in, only four and three quarters made it out. She stayed with her wounded friend who had lost one of her legs all through the night until she passed away from blood loss. Her heart sank even more once they returned to base to find what was left of the battalion of soldiers sent in to fight on the ground.

Rows upon rows of dead men, covered in blankets. A single medic picking through them to get their names. That day changed her, as it did everybody. She promised to herself and her fallen comrades to never forget them. With that mindset, she soon acquired her now beloved Leica II camera and began to document everything she saw.

Now she has been placed into the 514th Joint Fighter Wing, hopefully for good. While the Fuso higher ups don't exactly look favorably on this Witch, the allied command would not let her talent go to waste and felt her skills were best suited for defending the Western Front.

To get a stimulus going, here's my unfinished GMPC:

Weapon:

Magical Ability: As a Night Witch, Jenny has the ability to generate a Magical Radar antenna, allowing her to detect Neuroi at long ranges.

Animal Familiar: Eastern Grey Squirrel

Personality: The simplest way of putting it is that Jenny’s shy. She’s soft-spoken, slightly introverted and tends to avoid contact when she can. In some ways, it’s probably fitting that she’s a Night Witch, since that way she gets a lot of time to herself, and she seems to be a lot more comfortable sending messages to other patrolling NWs than actually talking to people.
