Okay, I was just hoping for like a minimum time period but that is fine. And yeah I agree. It is easier to use on that already existed rather than cover all of their history. What kind of tech level btw pre bronze age?
Tech level will be at bronze age, all civilisations will have access to bronze spears etc. Depending on how people want to do this, new technologies could be developed (eg iron working), and new units unlocked.

Hmm... Carthage was claimed-- seems that we'll be using a few of the superpowers, eh? This is coming together very 'Civilisation' esque xDSo we take a real world nation and culture, choosig a famous/iconic leaderPut it into an alternative history and whipe out their tech/cultureAnd play it ourselves-
Yep, pretty much :D Although of course you can make your civilisation's culture the same as in real life if you want to. In fact, it would probably be best to, though I don't mind if you make up a new religion or something.

I'd like to do a portion of the German Holy Roman Empire. Not the entire thing of course, that would be way too much. but a few territories would be awesome. possible? Maybe?
Yep, that's fine. I would suggest the area around Vienna, as that was an important city for that empire in our timeline. We'll have to all have a vote on how many territories can be claimed at the start.

Helmuth von Moltke in charge of Germany.
Sure. Although you may have to compete with the Holy Roman Empire for space (lebensraum) ...

Its late night and now I have to go play civ. Thanks OP.Where on the 'complete-sandbox ---> number crunching/stat hell' scale are you expecting to set up camp?
Well, I'm not sure. I want people to be able to be free as possible, but I also have an idea for trade routes and civilisation traits (which I will explain soon, to see if people like it). I would say about the middle.

We don't remember our timeline, but do we realize we aren't back in Kansas anymore, Dorothy? Will all empty land be filled with NPC-nations or just citystates where their capitols and other big cities would locate. What about barbarian tribes?
City states would start off with just one or two territories, and would expand about one space per IC page from there. Therefore, there will be a large number of empty spaces for people to expand into. As for barbarian tribes, I hadn't really considered that, but I think they will be necessary to keep it from being too easy to expand. How do people want to do this?
