With amazing GM approval and much discussion... my Doctor Doom-on-crack inspired character:
Name: Malefane Nihil Omnis
Race: Dearmadta (Forerunner race of the Humans)
Gender: Male
Age: ???
Height/Weight: 6'7"; 320lbs
Personality/InterestsNihil is a self-proclaimed god. He is calm and collected, possessing a great level of apathy towards all things. His is quite slow to anger, however, and when his ire is provoked, death is inevitable. He has no qualms about killing, for he makes a living out of it, and he does has no qualms about taking dominion. Nihil follows his whims, whether it is to destroy a world, rule over the world, or simply pass through. As such, he is a nihilist through and through with no true goals aside from what catches his fancy. He does, however, seek to create a Nihilverse (the complete eradication of the Omniverse), though he has much patience and an eternity to follow that path. Nihil also possesses great confidence in his own abilities and power, but he does not delude himself with arrogance. Nihil recognizes that he is still prone to die should he blind himself, but he also does not cast away the belief that he is a god-- he seeks to cure himself of "mortality."
Despite his apathy and patience, Nihil is prone to levels of cruelty that would even make devils and demons cringe. He's notorious for his distant and cold attitude during these events, when his whimsy drives him to amuse himself. Often times, these moments are not meant for amusement, but rather a display of power, to put "blasphemers" in their place or to "smite" those who he deems as petty or villainous-- an irony that is lost to him. Guided by his own whimsical nature, he often times finds a temporary goal to keep himself occupied and remains commited. However, he does not possess the ability to empathize with others and feels no connection with "mortals", believing them to be a mistake... a mistake he will rectify to ensure they are made in his own image. With no loyalties to bind him, Nihil is willing to do everything in his power to continue his course to surpass his current level, to become the All-Father of the Omniverse. Strangely, he can mimic "mortal" emotions despite not being able to feel them.
An intellectual of the highest caliber, he enjoys tinkering with objects and reverse engineering technologies that are new to him, no matter how archaic they may be to others. Interestingly, he speaks in the plural sense in regards to himself rather than the singular. As to why is unknown, but he never catches the strange syntax of his own words; either he truly is everything or he and the AI has become one.
AppearanceDetailsBody build: Athletic, slender
Hair: Waist length; brushed back with two white locks falling on either side of his face, reaching an inch past his chin
Hair color: Black with white stripes
Skin color: Alabaster, with grey-green tints
Eye/Iris color: There are no irises nor pupils, just white sclera
Notable Features: Nihil has notable black circles around his eyes and his veins around his eyes are visible and black. His eyelids, lips, and fingernails are also jet black. Nihil has pointed ears and has a surreal feminine beauty about him. Embedded into his forehead is a scarlet crystal in the shape of a diamond. Without his clothing, he is riddled with battle scars and mesh; wounds prior to the nanomachines that inhabit his body. Despite the picture, he does NOT have horns, NOR does he have wings.
Clothing DescriptionHead: MaskBody: White Battle Tunic;
Alternative Image (The front and back of the tunic's tabard are longer and reach towards the middle of the shins)
Arms: White BracersWaist: Grey Utility
BeltLegs: White pantsFeet: White
BootsBack: White
RobeEquipment--His equipment is primarily his clothing--
Void-Mask: The mask serves two primary purposes. The first is the ability to breathe within any hostile environment, such as a place with little to no atmosphere or underwater (these being primary examples). The second purpose is for him to filter out harmful airs, such as poison or fungal spores (another set of examples).
Null-Bracers: These bracers also serve two functions; the first providing heat to his hands and forearms, consistently keeping them at a comfortable temperature. The second purpose are for hand-to-hand combat, mostly used as an aegis against swords, axes, and any other melee weapon; these bracers absorb the impact of most melee weapons (although weapons made of raw energy, like a lightsaber, are capable of cutting through). The bracers are made from a light steel, consisting of carbon and titanium, primarily. The padding beneath them are made from a special fabric used to store and distribute heat to the wearer.
His overall clothing, however, serve no other purpose than to keep him comfortable in any temperature. His clothing is designed from special fabrics that keep him at a constant 72 degrees (Fahrenheit) simply by using his body temperature as a form of constant. The clothing will regularly monitor the body temperature of the wearer and shift itself accordingly, whether the body temperature of the wearer changes (such as when there is a bacterial infection).
Utility Belt: The Utility Belt holds three holsters-- one for the Annihilator model-DE0, one for the sonic screwdriver, and one for the Voidsaber. The utility belt also has a pouch that stores food capsules. Near the back, seven Reaper Grenades are held. There are at least two other pouches that are used for miscellaneous objects; he also possesses an Obsidian Credit (an Omniversal card that holds an unlimited supply of Credits), which he had killed a Higher Power (an acknowledged Super Race that rules a portion of the Omniverse) to attain... before he destroyed the world.
Artificial Intelligence- Genesis: The AI he possesses was infused into his cerebral cortex during his moments of death as a part of a Super Soldier experiment. The AI was meant to use the corpse as a vessel and jumpstart the bodily functions, all the while destroying the Original Personality. However, Genesis revived Nihil, in which the two agreed to co-exist. The AI increased Nihil's intelligence by providing stored information. Genesis also used 25% of its capacity to keep the cybernetic implants active (which was heavily augmented by the heightened electromagnetic energy that was stored within Nihil). Though Genesis had a personality of its own, it had long since faded into nothingness during Rampancy. It is theorized that Genesis may have become one with Nihil's personality, their whimsy being a result of the psychological fusion.
Cybernetic Implants: While Nihil remained dead on the operating table for the macabre Super Soldier Project, most of his body was destroyed. The bones in his arms and legs were replaced by cybernetic substitutes, each linked to the spine wherein lay a receiver for Genesis. His skin was intact by a thread, which was enough for the nanomachines to literally rebuild the missing patches of skin and reconnect them to the bones at the cybernetic hands (coincidentally rebuilding the nerve tissue). Due to the cybernetic implants, he is heavier than his appearance portrays.
Sonic Screwdriver: A favored tool of Nihil's. It is a very versatile tool, capable of using sonic waves to vibrate an object into opening, detonating, and so on. The item has many setting and frequencies, all of which serve a unique purpose. However, it is not strong enough to cause extensive damage to organic beings, although unconsciousness from being blasted by a high frequency of sonic waves is known to happen. The sonic screwdriver does not work on wood.
Weapon(s) Voidsaber: A
black -bladed lightsaber found only in a certain universe. Nihil discovered it amongst his travels through the Omniverse. When activated, it greedily eats at the light surrounding it and its wielder; as well, its activation has a higher pitch and it seems as though it is constantly letting out a high pitched screech. Nihil, upon studying the weapon and its power source through reverse-engineering, understands the origins and make of the weapon.
Reaper Grenades x7: Specialized grenades that contain fungal spores to a bioengineered race. Those who breathe in the spores rot from the inside out, their physiology shifting to something alien, and becoming a part of a hivemind. They will appear as tall, serpentine monsters of fungal origins, with long tongues dripping with acid and an insatiable bloodlust, their skin black scales. Their skulls would elongate and their eyes will becoming milky white beads. They would also possess prehensile tails that could cut through stone. The grenades and the spores were created by Nihil, whose electronic signature harmonizes the Reapers into a hivemind, responding to the vibrations and fluctuations of his electromagnetic field.
Annihilator model DE0: Annihilator model "Dark Energy 0" is a .500 caliber, long-barreled handgun that siphons Dark Energy from the Omniverse and concentrates it into a single beam when fired, capable of dealing massive damage. It has a powerful kick, enough to break a person's entire arm from the tip of their trigger finger to their shoulder if they do not have the required strength and resiliency to use it. This gun was designed and crafted by Nihil and is the latest Annihilator model created during his vast aeons of life.
Talents and Abilities
Nihil was no ordinary Dearmadta, having been born with innate gifts alien to his people. Before the cybernetic implants thrust upon him, he had two primary abilities over electricity and magnetism, making him a force to be reckoned with.
Electrokinesis: Nihil is capable of generating and manipulating electricity. This power is the primary source of his claims of godhood. His power ranges from static to lightning bolts, and it does not have to be just from his body as he can bring down a large ion beam from the atmosphere. This power can overload electronics or simply boot them on, as well as bring some people back to life within a reasonable amount of time (as in, he can use this power as a defibrillator).
Magnetism: Often confused for telekinesis, Nihil can attract and repulse anything with a strong magnetic field (commonly metals). Interestingly, he can bend and shatter metals so long as they have a strong enough magnetic field. He can also break down metals into pseudo-dust motes.
Electromagnetic Aura: Due to the AI implant, his powers manifest into an aura surrounding him. His electromagnetic field boosted in power due to the increase of brainwave activity caused by the AI, allowing it to manifest in electrical currents that visibly run up and down his body. Though he does not have complete control over the electromagnetic field, he can consciously increase and decrease his field in a calm state. However, should he ever be angered, the potency and range of his field increases to limits not even he can control, making him a living EMP. Coincidentally, he is capable of magnetizing whatever his field touches, allowing his power over Magnetism a much wider range; in conjunction to this, he is capable of giving anything a strong electrical charge, making him far more deadlier should he use a bolt of lightning against those caught within his field.
Nihil became a powerful sorcerer during his imprisonment within the Twilight Zone. Forced to survive in an alien dimension, his journey through the harsh environment led him to a sacred place whereupon a giant otherworldly stone block with ancient cuneiform writings revealed to him the secrets of all living things: the Magicks of Life. Due to his enhanced intelligence caused by the AI implant, he was the only non-worlder to read the ancient texts... and he practiced the Arts to the utmost perfection. He knows much of the fundamentals of magic, capable of using basic spells and powerful Dispels. A master in all four schools of magic, Nihil specializes in Aeromancy and Geomancy, his most powerful and proficient forms of magic.
Aeromancy: Possessing great mastery in Wind and Air magic, he can cast spells allowing him to generate air into a place that is a complete vacuum. He can purify toxic atmosphere or poison it himself. He possesses weather-altering and weather-generating spells, as well as harnessing the energies of atmospheres himself, allowing him other ways to generate electricity. Like many Grandmasters of Aeromancy, he can manipulate the wind into all-cutting blades, with and without foci. Even more dangerous, Nihil is capable of taking away the wind and air.
--This represents the breath that is given to all living things.
Geomancy: Nihil became innovative with Earth magic. In this innovation, he is considered a SSS (triple-S) Class Criminal throughout the Omniverse. He can use motes of dust to kill any and all living things, control flora and plant life, manipulate tectonic plates, pressurize the very earth itself into molten lava and bend it to his will, bend and manipulate metals, and control the very source of gravitation himself. As such, he is notorious for destroying at least six planets in a single universe simultaneously due to the gravitation sub-magic. Frighteningly enough, it is rumored by those monitoring his activities that he can even use diamond dust to annihilate an entire species.
--This represents the flesh that gives all life form.
Sangromancy:The power over blood is a godly thing... Nihil can use blood as a magical conduit, whether it is his or someone else's, allowing him access to do powerful things. He can open portals to another world or bring forth a dead, long-forgotten god into a world under his control. He can use blood as an alternative power-source to use other available schools of magic should he bleed himself dry of his own magical reserves, surrendering moments of his own life as a price. However... he is not simply restricted to these things. He can manipulate blood within a vessel, whether living or dead, and treat it like a puppet. Nihil can rend living and dead things asunder by removing the blood violently. Nihil rarely uses this magic, but he sees it as a useful tool to progress his plans and particularly uses it in interrogations. Not only can he control one's body (but not the mind) and end one's life, but he can cause the blood flow to simply cease or to make it all rush to a single point and cause either mild or catastrophic damage (mild = knock out; catastrophic = making someone's heart explode).
--This represents life in its entirety.
Necromancy: Nihil's use of necromancy is a terrifying thing. From simple reanimation of a skeletal framework to being able to fully restore a corpse to life, he can act as either a catalysmic force or a miraculous messiah. However, his abilities in necromancy do not stop there. He can leech one's life and add it to his own, turn them into rotten husks with a touch, and rend a soul from its vessel and apply it elsewhere. He can raise vast legions of undead, wrench control of a corpse from another, and even create newer monstrosities bred from corpses. His power with necromancy is awe-inspiring and rightfully ranks him as a god.
--This represents the end of life.
Alchemy: Though not truly a school of magic, Nihil is well versed in the art. This is his most dangerous aspect in the magical field, for through alchemy... he can create life. Knowing and understanding the depths of it core research, he had created a fleet and he had created a Philosopher Stone. Combining the scientific research and the magic he had learned, in conjunction with his natural abilities, life was merely the milestone. He can created new elements, such as new gasses and metals, that are alien elsewhere. Alchemy is considered the Core of Life Magic due to its association with gods and creation.
--This represents the building blocks of life.
Enhanced Strength and Resilience: Stronger than a human at their peak, yet not quite Superhuman, Nihil is capable of landing powerful blows that could shatter chunks out of stone and dent powerful steel. In conjunction, his body is tougher than an Olympian-level fighter, allowing him to take powerful hits even if he flies through a giant steel wall.
Enhanced Speed and Reflexes: Much like his enhanced strength, Nihil can outrun an Olympian-level track-athlete and move faster than an Olympian-level boxer. Though not as fast as someone with Superhuman speed, Nihil is still able to land a series of hits before they could register on a normal person. When on the defensive, he is quick to defend himself, having swift reflexes that seem preternatural... almost precognitive (however, this is not the case). Due to this augmentation, though, his metabolism increased at five-times the normal speed of someone naturally born with a fast metabolism.
Accelerated Healing Factor: Nihil's natural healing process has been accelerated by nanomachines, allowing him to heal four-times faster than a normal human. Though not instantaneous, he can heal at an alarming rate; should he suffer from a wound that would take a month to heal, it would heal within a week (or if it would take a year to heal, it would only take three months). He is unable to regenerate missing body parts, but he's also unable to scar. The nanomachines, however, run off his electrical energies, making them susceptible to overloading temporarily when large quantities of water (enough to drench him) is applied to his person. The nanomachines shut down for three hours before rebooting, giving many a window of opportunity to permanently kill him. So long as he still has his heart or brain, and all of his vital organs, and does not suffer from extensive damage, he can revive within three days so long as the nanomachines were active during his death. The removal of any of his vital organs would prove fatal, since he is unable to regenerate.
Darkvision: Nihil is capable of seeing in pitch darkness, his vision classified under "nightvision", able to see up to 300ft.
Translator: Due to the AI implant, Nihil can understand and speak any language; it is theorized that it's perhap the massive jump in his intelligence and not simply the AI itself translating and speaking.
Otherworldly Intelligence: Though a natural born genius, even for his own people, Nihil was imbued with an AI that rapidly accelerated his thinking process. Through this, his intelligence increased dramatically, to levels so far beyond the norm that his intelligence reached new dimensions. He can create unique and alien weaponry simply by theory, using the proper tools and resources available. Due to his intelligence, he created a single Star Destroyer on his own, as well as creating a Philosopher Stone (which serves as the core of ship with a small chunk of it being embedded into his forehead). The weapons' system and artillery are also of his own creation and design. Nihil particularly enjoys tinkering with and understanding technology, which increases his already vast intelligence, little by little.
Eidetic Memory: Nihil possesses a photographic memory, capable of remembering everything he sees and hears with great, picture-esque detail. This is used in conjunction with his Ortherworldly Intelligence and tactical mindset, allowing him to adapt and quickly overwhelm his opponents who seek to get into his way.
Expert Tactician and Strategist: Nihil is an expert tactician and strategist due to his military experience. Before his "ascension to godhood", Nihil was simply formidable to most enemies by predicting the outcome of battles by thinking about the terrain (or the absence of ), the estimated numbers, and other military strategies that could prove detrimental to him. Due to his adaptability and will to live, he could quickly fill in the cracks of his strategies to ensure victory. However, he had lost many battles and has learned from them. These losses had made him a very, very dangerous man.
Philosopher Stone: Embedded into his forehead is the Philosopher Stone. This is perhaps the most dangerous aspect of Nihil, for not only does he possess a Philosopher Stone, but he had created one. The Stone grants Nihil eternal life and eternal youth; though it does not grant him true immortality. The Philosopher Stone also provides him with a massive power boost, as well as allowing him to cast spells more often and to perform much more with such spells, big and small. The Stone is the true source of his god-like power. To note, his Star Destroyer is telepathically linked to him due to the ship's core being of the same stone embedded within his forehead.
Weapon Mastery: Due to his time in a military academy at a young age, Nihil was raised into a warrior whose proficiency lied within melee weapons. He was trained to use polearms, blades, and blunt weaponry. He has mastered the art of martial combat.
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Though formidable with swords and staves, Nihil excelled in hand-to-hand combat. Though not quite as deadly with his hands as he was with a blade, he was still considered talented. Were he of a greater build, his hand-to-hand prowess would prove far superior as his current state. He has lost many hand-to-hand fights, but these in turned made him a dangerous foe, for he has learned the errors he made.
Expert Marksman: As a part of his military training, Nihil learned how to use bows, crossbows, and various guns, ranging from peashooters to "cannons". He is accurate with a gun, but his precision was lacking. He favors a blade far more than either guns and bare fists.
History
The Dearmadta are the Forerunner race for humankind, their technological advances proving far superior to that of any Super Predator. The first species to evolve and attain such advanced technology, they served their domain with a stern, yet merciful fist. Conducting research and experiments, the Dearmadta also served as Forerunners of various other races and first discovered what is now termed as a "Multiverse". Aeons later, they discovered and mapped the "Omniverse." In the midst of all of this, they served as protectors of lesser races and species. They protected many from Super Predators, war-like races and species hellbent on destroying other civilizations to prevent threats. These Super Predators were hunted to extinction.
At least, until the ascension of the Sharnaathi, a warrior race of serpentine humanoid whose mastery of magic and advanced technology pushed the Dearmadta, pitting them in a war over the universe that would last for seven millenia... and give birth to a powerful entity known as Malefane Nihil Omnis.
Nihil was born during the Astral Dominion War, a time of uneasiness and death. He was born with ochre-colored eyes. Like all children born during the war, they were taken away from their parents to serve as future soldiers. By martial law, children were to be educated in the Black Temple and given strict martial training until they reach the age of fourteen; infants were to be nursed by the War Priestesses until the age of four, which was the age in which a child was to receive their education and training. Nihil grew up alone, ostracized for his unique powers over electricity and magnetism; this garnered attention from the War Priests, the Ministery of Science, and the Emperor himself. Given special privileges by the Black Temple, he was tutored on his powers privately by the scientists, in which they rewarded him with toys by the end of their sessions. Nihil often played with his toys until he got curious with how they worked. Not knowing he was being monitored, he began to take it apart and showed great interest in the parts he removed. He had a firm understanding of every working and eventually put it all back together again.
Intrigued by his intelligence, the Ministry of Science conducted more experiments. At the age of six, he showed to have had an IQ of over 350, which was unheard of for any child. The average adult had an IQ of 200 and the average adult with a genius intellect had an IQ of 300. With an IQ surpassing an adult, the scientists and the Emperor took even greater interest in the child. He underwent rigorous training until the age of fourteen, whereupon he was given the rank of lieutenant and given his own squad. He had shown great leadership and won many skirmishes against the Sharnaathi. Eventually, he was given more difficult missions, and on one fateful day, age seventeen, he lost his first battle, losing half of his squad and suffering from severe wounds. He lost against a Sharnaathi Blood Priest by the name of Ahnk Mordreth, a powerful sorcerer and a powerful supporter of the war. Given a month of recuperation, he was sent back into battle with a new squad. He eventually found Ahnk Mordreth and called for a Sacred Duel. Agreeing, Mordreth fought Nihil a second time, only to fall at the tip of the young lieutenant's vibroblade. Angered, Mordreth's legions attacked the small squad. Nihil ended up the lone survivor, killing hundreds of the legion until the arrival of the Dearmadta army. After the evacuation, Nihil cursed the Sharnaathi for breaking the Code of War and chastised himself for being so naive. To him, that was his second loss.
However, Nihil was given a promotion and honors, becoming a Captain of his own fleet with a vast contingent of soldiers under his command. Nihil once more conquered the Sharnaathi until his skirmish with Roc Lynx, the commanding leader and God-King of the Sharnaathi. They fought with their fleets until Roc demanded that their leader come out of the Star Destroyer and fight him one-on-one. The planet of Amarath, the Dearmadta home planet, was used as a hostage. Knowing it was a trap, Nihil left the ship wearing a specialized suit that allowed him to breathe in space. Awaiting upon the edge of the ship, at the nose of the Star Destroyer, was Roc Lynx. Nihil fought with even footing against the warlord, only until Nihil overwhelmed the man and was assaulted by plasma rifles from the hidden Sharnaathi warriors. Blasted and torn to shreds, Nihil drifted off into the void. His Star Destroyer and crew, too, were annihilated.
Hours later, a nearby Dearmadta ship found the floating corpse and recovered him, taking him back to Amarath. The Ministery of Science took the corpse and prepared it for Project Genesis. They replaced the missing bones and muscle tissue with cybernetic prosthetics with the dual purpose of giving substance for the skin cell restoration and for enhancing the body's physical capabilities. The nanomachines for the skin cell restoration, also known as cellular replication, were administered during the cybernetic replacements. Very powerful doses of morphine was administered to thin the coagulated blood and to make room for fresh blood. When the skin grew over the cybernetic prosthetics, they opened Nihil's skull and implanted the AI, dubbed Genesis, and connected the wiring to the electrical synapses of the cerebral cortex. After placing the cap of the skull back on, using medical glue, staples, and dissolvable medical thread, they attempted to use a powerful defribillator. However, by the time the super-powered defribillator arrive into the medical room, Nihil's eyes opened. His eyes were surrounded by black veins and his skin, due to being dead, was a greyish-green. He howled in phantom pain, unaware of the numbness of the morphine. The doctors and scientists fled the chamber, for everything within the operating room began to short-circuit.
When he eventually stopped screaming, three hours later, the scientists returned to the room to check to see his status. They were shaken by the turn of events. Upon visiting the room, they saw that he was asleep, breathing faintly. The nanomachines had performed their job and healed the Nihil's skull, though his body ran with smoke and electricity. The nanomachines had been overworked and seemed damaged... their full capacity would be cut in half by the power surge that had plagued the room amidst the three hours of screaming.
When Nihil awakened from a three week coma, he seemed fully aware of his surroundings. He had spoken to Genesis in his long sleep and he had a firm grasp of the events that had transpired. When he arose, he felt heavy. The cybernetics. He took another week of recuperation before demanding to return to the battlefield, his attitude shifting to something more ferocious. When he returned to war, he dealt powerful blows to the Sharnaathi forces, turning the tides of battle swiftly. In the midst of this, he had built weapons; weapons unheard of and frightening. He used these weapons to decimate the Sharnaathi, forcing them back to their homeworld. Once there, he called for Roc Lynx, demanding a Sacred Duel. To ensure this, he used their planet as a hostage and swore to leave it unharmed should he be the victor. Agreeing, the two fought until Nihil dismembered the Sharnaathi God-King, leaving him alive for only a moment. After his cries of agony, and fully aware of the sword at his throat, Roc Lynx laughed and said:
"You are Sharnaathi now. You are God. Your name... no, you're title... Malefane! God of Anarchy! Kingslayer! Malefane... in our tongue, it means "Harbinger," the highest honor to the greatest warrior. No mercy. Cruelty. Yes, you know Sharnaathi. You are Sharnaathi!"
With that, Nihil killed the god-king and fled the planet of Shaarnath... and destroyed it.
Upon returning home, Nihil was put under arrest and was sentenced to a fate far more cruel than the lies and betrayal of the Sharnaathi.
Banishment to the Twilight Zone.
Too dangerous to keep alive and a potential threat, Malefane Nihil was cast into a dimension that should never have been found; a place that was impossible to exist. Once cast into the Twilight Zone, he could not leave. Nihil saw, high above, the black hole threatening to eat the otherworldly place. The atmosphere was thin, the ground was torn asunder and the earth levitated in a gravitational stasis. It was a desolate wasteland of black sand and cold air. Nihil, not wanting to die in the place he arrived, ventured the empty place, guided only by the light being devoured by the black hole (which he knew would reach this otherworldly planet in another two million years). Given only a few rations and a few flasks of water to make his stay in the Twilight Zone a little less unpleasant--or, in his eyes, worse--Nihil became starved and thirsty after only a few days.
Near death, he eventually found a black shrine. Stumbling and hoping there was food and drink, Nihil made his way in. He found nothing except a giant blue-stone block. Nearing rage, Genesis told him what the block said. Confused, he looked at the block. There were secrets on how to make food and water out of nothing. He experimented for several hours, practicing the precise instructions written on the stone. Growing frustrated with having no results, he tried a final time. His rage, his despair, and his pain gave birth to the first fizzle of his magical talents, for he had summoned rain fall and a strange, alien creature that looked slightly edible to a starving man. The creature was large enough to sate his hunger and the rainfall filled his flasks much to his glee. When he finished, he read the stone once more with a clear and elated mind. He winced when he saw the numbers, in ancient cuneiform of an alien race. He had cast a level 100 spell in the third tier of spellcraft. There were one-thousand level spells per tier, meaning there were four-thousand spells to learn alone upon the stone. He had skipped so many, many steps. Genesis encouraged him to try to learn the magic, as a means to escape the Twilight Zone. Agreeing, Nihil began to teach himself magic.
It took him six years to master the Arts on the cuneiform, and on the last epithet of the stone block, he saw a lever. He pulled the lever, and the stone slate barely a sixteenth-of-an-inch away, slid under the other tiles, revealing a box full of scrolls. He studied them and tucked them away, only keeping one of them out. Nihil knew it was a map and he knew that it would lead him to a place that would teach him more magic. Nihil underwent his own pilgrimage to find purpose, to find hope, and to escape this Hell known as the Twilight Zone. During his venture, he encountered many strange things that would drive a man mad, fighting and slaughtering them to survive. In the midst of his travels, Genesis underwent rapid moodswings and nearly endangered both Nihil and itself.
It took a year to discover the next shrine. There, he learned more. After mastering the magic there, he continued on for another two years to find the next shrine. In their isolation, Genesis grew quiet and Nihil grew more calm and empty. Eventually, Nihil discovered the fourth shine after ten years of wandering the wasteland and studied the stone block there. He mastered it, as well, and ventured off to find the fifth and final shrine. When he arrived, fifty years later and ancient, Nihil read the stone's content. It was different, but he began to learn. It took sixteen years to master Alchemy, for finding the materials took him a long while and the shrine was deprived of most of them; yet he had quick witted responses to such absences as he was struck with brilliant ideas. In the end, he discovered the stone's final secret: the Philosopher Stone. It was a mystery, an enigma for the ages, but after learning much from the stone and having the patience to learn, he theorized greatly of how to make one. Littered about this shrine were skeletons of various races and species; all of whom were failures of learning the craft. Nihil denied death many times. Near the end of his life, however, weakened and nearly without energy, he gave his life's work the final ingredient from his wild theory. His blood.
As an act of Divine Province, the grounds that were within his bowl liquified and then swiftly solidified into a crystal the size of his palm. Nihil touched the crystal and it rippled. Amused, he ripped off a small chunk of it and placed it atop his forehead, which latched on and gave him energy. He began to feel stronger, younger... he felt like he was given a final chance to live once more. Nihil placed the crystal into his worn pouch and ventured away from the shrine, seeking a way to finally leave the Twilight Zone.
Regaining his youth and strength, Nihil continued to search for a way out. He eventually found a dead city a hundred years later, wherein resided the remaining residence of the Twilight Zone. He discovered that the necropolis possessed inbreds and there was a lord who resided over them, dubbing himself God. Nihil learned his name by happenstance: Mordrick Savoc. Mordrick resided in the Tower of Naught, wherein he resided happily. Upon learning of Nihil, he personally paid him a visit. They both fought, for Mordrick sensed his power and deemed the man a threat. Nihil nearly died in their encounter, but he used his own lightning bolt, staggering the god-like entity and used a spell to rend the man's soul from his body, devouring it himself. He had learned much of the man, of his past, and eventually came to understand the futility of leaving. Enraged, he leveled the necropolis and its hideous inhabitants with a geomantic spell, using gravity to crush it and then bringing forth the molten earth below the otherworldly planet to erase its existence.
A thought, however, came to him. He would force his way out. He had the knowledge, the power... and a powersource far more efficient than any known element from his own universe and from the next. He spent aeons building a star destroyer, creating the material from the black sand, using his magic and natural powers in conjunction. When he finished the ship, he went to a particular, specialized room he had built for his most prized possession: the Philosopher Stone. When all was said and done, the planet shook vigorously, violently. Desperation took him and he ran to the bridge, demanding the ship to fly away swiftly. Then, him and the ship plummeted towards the black hole, which had grew far faster than he had calculated. At the last minute, the hyperdrive he had designed drove them through a Dimensional rift, avoiding the gravitational destruction of the black hole the moment the ship had touched the Event Horizon.
After destroying his homeworld as an act of vengance, Nihil went about his days conquering planets as a space pirate, destroying them when they served him no more use. As time dragged on, he was hailed as a god. He took away those he deemed faithful and eventually changed, taking the title of God and Malefane with great pride. He toppled many civilizations, had served as both a kind and cruel leader, depending on his mood upon his visits. He had conquered universes and multiverses alike, destroying them as quickly as he had ruled them. In the end, he grew weary of the play. Nihil grew weary of existing. Malefane Nihil Omnis sought to change the Omniverse into his image, prophecising the Nihilverse, whereupon he'll create a new Omniverse in his own image, for people to know his pain and suffering. To assist in this prophecy, he began to increase his power with rigorous training and adopting meditation as a form of rest and relaxation. He experimented with his theories and began to dabble in creating life. When he succeeded, he was thus truly seen as God before all his servants and slaves.
Not a one dared to challenge him.
He eventually found himself reaching the Crossroad, where he felt with his entirety the flux of cosmic energy. The Crossroad, he reasoned, was the beginning of the end. Rather than send his legions of Reapers and Priests to conquer the planet, as he usually did, he thought it most prudent that he conquer the Crossroads with his own hands. After all, he would need to be the center of it all...
SD-Harbinger: The Star Destroyer Harbinger is far more than a mere ship. The outside of the warship possesses highly advanced alien weaponry, capable of using the entire Verse as a weapon. It is clad with 48 artillery cannons, 144 turrets, and one Ultima Cannon (which draws in Anti-Matter and Anti-Magic particles). It holds up to 500,000 ships and is crewed by Reapers, Priests, droids, newly created life forms, and slaves. The inside of the ship is as large as an Earth-sized planet and holds an idyllic scene the closer one gets to the bridge. The bridge is terraformed and is commanded only by Nihil, who controls the ship via telepathy with the core. The core of the ship provides the vast energy required for the ship to fly and allow it to enter Lightspeed. Nihil considers the Harbinger as a true star destroyer and is the only object in existence that he values. The ship is also able to rend apart Space-Time, allowing Nihil to visit newer Verses to conquer and destroy, as well as possess cryo-chambers and teleportation pads which can send anyone to anywhere on the ship or to a particular place on a nearby planet. The core of the ship is semi-sentient and is dominated by Nihil's will.
