2034 - The first interstellar human exploration ship leaves Sol.
2040 - First contact with an Alien race.
2118 - The Alliance is officially formed, as dozens of alien races join.
2119 - The Alliance enters a golden age of science, exploration and understanding.
2185- The Alliance makes first contact with The Thresh Empire.
2187 - War breaks out as diplomacy fails.
2192 - Earth is under siege.


This is a Space-Combat RP with a very heroic tone to it. With the rise of more Space Sim games, like Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen, I got this idea of an RP where we play as ship Captains. You choose your ship type, flesh it out with crew, weaponry, and all that sort of stuff. We also need one Admiral, to command the Fleet, mostly directing where the next battle will be. The Admiral will also be the Co-GM of sorts.

The very rough version of this story is that Humanity finally started to explore space, setting up colonies, and making alliances with various alien species. Very Star-Trek-esque beginning. Until Humanity met a race that could not be reasoned with, war broke out and the Alliance that the humans established is so far losing the war. Our RP starts several years into the war, with the enemy currently invading one of the cornerstones of the Alliance, the Sol System. This is where we push them back.

You can change your sheet as much as you want before the IC opens, as long as you tell us in the OOC!
When the IC Starts, you can change stuff on your ship, just ask the Admiral, or the GM, and the changes will take effect in the time between Operations!

Updated the character sheet.
Loki, please add an appearance to Admiral Gralius, and an age. As for the Away Mission, an Away Mission is whenever the Captain of the ship leaves the ship to go to a hostile or unknown world. Typical Away Mission equipment includes a personal defense weapon, a scanner, perhaps a specific set of protective clothing, etc.

So, I have a quick question about weaponry... Are we going with Star Wars, rock-throwing ranges.. or are we going with something more realistic, in the tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of kilometers, for collumated energy weapons (beam/ray weapons, such as lasers and particle weapons)? I know that our GM has said we're going with a bit more cinematic, but when you look at things like RoboCross, Harlock: Space Pirate, and so on, they include those kinds of ranges. Either way is fine, but I have some designs that may need their ranges adjusted.

Kinetics get rock throwing range, about a couple hundred kilometers. Energy Weapons get about twice that range.
I'd say the longest ranged weapons in the Alliance would go up to 2 thousand kilometers or something.

So, a bit of a mix between cinematic and realistic, leaning on the cinematic rock throwing side.

EDIT:
Updated the Ship sheet with a size thing. Loki, could you add the size of the ship in your sheet? Length is fine. Sorry, but since you're the first person to make a sheet, yours is what I'm using to fix what's missing.
Almost chuckled at a 75 crew DN, should really update the catalog with typical crew sizes

ANNOUNCEMENT:
You can make as many edits as you want to your character sheet until we start the IC. When we launch the IC, you can ask me, or the Admiral, for changes to your ship. Like more guns, different shuttles, etc. When we finish a mission and go into dock, the changes will be made to your ship then.

Away Mission Equipment: If it is absolutely necessary to take part on an away mission Calter always wears a powered armor for maximizing his own survival chances (think a combination of the Marine armor from Star Craft with some parts taken from the Enclave Power Armor of Fallout II).

He carries with him what is technically a mix of a portable rail gun and a sniper rifle - what it loses in it's firing speed it makes up greatly with it's stopping power. The gun has an effective range of nearly four miles, but reloading the weapon and preparing for another shot can take up to a minute at a time.

Appearance: Max Calter stands just above 6 feet. He has quite wide shoulders and surprisingly muscular arms. He's quite handsome - and possesses a bit effeminate facial features, his eyes are dark green. A small scar runs from the left side of his mouth down to his chin. Calter keeps his hair mostly cut short, but he has few longer locks of hair that usually cover his left eye.

Quick-Bio: Maximilien Calter had always been a sharp kid - despite his size he had always preferred to get back at anyone foolish enough to bully him with his wits rather than fists. Be it from his days at school, or the military academies Calter has been a bit of a renegade. Despite his loyalty and rather good service record the man has been demoted back to captain twice due to his rather unorthodox - though effective - tactics.

1 x heavy caliber railgun for taking down heavier targets - mounted atop of the ship in a manner similar to a tank turret.

Other: The Fenris is much less a ship than a relatively fast moving weapons platform designed for precise, quick and devastating strikes instead of prolonged combat. The Fenris has a very advanced stealth device and full radar jamming capabilities.

Yeah, take a look at the opening post. Your character is under the Roster, meaning he's accepted. Keep an eye on the OP every once in a while, I'll be updating it with various stuff from time to time.
