Imma have to look into it! I have been too busy with work to really get into anything new, but now knowing that they are adding canon EU material... I didnt understand that everything after the revelation would be canon. It'd be nice to see how the history and future of the universe evolves in this new light.

I'm still hopeful. I was worried about the franchise in Lucas' hands and I'm just as worried now, but... hopefully Disney simply hasn't released anything in the fear of people seeing something dumb they did and writing off the film. They've leaked very little so far, and most of what is leaked is fake. There's alot of ways this could go... As an avid and hopeful fan I will reserve judgement for episode VII...

But it still kind of miff's me that it's not gonna be released on May 4th... XD

Lucas was the sole creator even if he had others come in to make things later. It was his, and his alone, if you create something no one should complain about how you alter the thing you create. It's his choice, and I loved everything he did with it. THough I probably coulda done without the Force.

But you can see why. Also Lucas wrote the Episode 7 story so you can blame him. Really the problem was there was all this content and with the aging of the actors they would need to skip so much EU that it'd be impossible to keep up with what was going on with all the references to past events. So they started fresh. For future reference: The Tarkin book isn't EU... it is Canon :P

Yeah I can see why, of course. It's just a frustrating thing that everyone has to put up with. Like Lucas changing threepios age from 212 to about 32 in ANH. It just happens.

I'm not that big on the darksabers/lightsabers. We're still at the point where Jedi are still being hunted down as supposed traitors. The only ones who would have lightsabers (and actually knew how to use them in battle without chopping their hands off), would be Jedi in hiding. The Empire, once they noticed the darksabers/lightsabers would assume Jedi and attack or arrest.

My suggestion for replacement weapons would be something such as vibroswords.

While I'm not a huge fan of Tarkin getting involved, I can let it slide, partly as he won't actually be making an appearance in this. So just swap out the dark/lightsabers for something else and it'll be good.

Sep, Heat, I would like to create a character, however there would need to be three things required before I create a Character Sheet. While minor, they are serious.1. Approval to be a 2. To be upgraded and modified with the additional intelligence of a Protocol Droid and it's own personality complex3. Built and owned by someoneMostly in standby would be expected if so, and not 100% complete, efficient, or effective at this time. Still needs a part or two, tweaks, fixed joints, but all in all can do basic things. And is almost as fast as a B1 battle droid.

The only issue I have is that the droid would be a literal relic, it'd be thousands of years old. It'd be a surprise to actually find one, especially in decent enough condition to actually get it working, then modify it.

Also, a notice to everyone: Expect the IC at the earliest to be up tommorow, I will not close accepting characters unless we hit the magic number by then (8), but we are already well enough off that we can get it going.

Well darksabers in particular were never used by new republic jedi so far as I know. The only ones in existence would be family heirlooms from the attacks by the Sith empire and Mandalorians. Also, Darksabers aesthetically look and act differently than any lightsaber. One would not look at one and immediately think jedi. More likely they'd go 'what the heck is that!' Understanding your point though I guess she might have lost her Darksabers somewhere along the line, and further understanding that she wouldn't want to look like a jedi, I can understand no lightsabers. My point was that it wouldnt be associated with the jedi. As varied as lighsaberss were they didnt vary THAT much. I mean its black with a white aura, it sparks with white lightning and the hilt and blade are flat. The blade is even serrated! Serrated! Whats the point of a serrated plasma weapon, I wonder?

at this point in the lore the only one using a light saber in the empires name is Vader. It's safe to assume anyone else even other dark jedi would be assumed to be enemies of the empire and treated as one. Unique shape just makes it worse on you. Any time you draw that thing someone would be out there looking for you and it would be easy because it's unique.

Okay look. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting picked on for arguing a point to keep a weapon that has been very iconic to my star wars roleplays with this character. I've already agreed to change it. I don't need to keep getting bashed for it. Beyond the point that someone could say the same for any custom item in the star wars universe. I obviously am not too concerned about getting pursued. I have worked very hard on adapting this character to be in this roleplay, and just because I'm not picking apart every detail of all of your characters doesnt mean i should be made a target of. I'm an open person, as I have shown repeatedly. So please. I need to just be cut a little slack.
