Klaus felt her coming from over a mile away and he opened his eyes and looked her direction, smiling at her compliment. "Ah, but you do as well, love." He said, winking at her as he stood up to greet her. He sat back down on the bench beside Cassie. "You look beautiful, Cassandra." He said, letting her name roll of his tongue, making it sound exotic. He smiled when she began naming off suggestions. "Strolling and dancing sounds nice." He said, smiling as he stood up and offered out his hand to the young woman. "Shall we carry this night on, madam?" He said playfully, bowing just slightly towards her.

She really did look extravagant in the dress she was wearing. Black always seemed to look good on her in the simplest way, but she'd look beautiful in just about anything as well.

- - -

She couldn't help but laugh when he grabbed her hand and led her out of her apartment and to the tour. It wasn't far from where they were at currently. It had just started when they arrived. The tour was interesting and she learned things she hadn't really knew about New Orleans before, but then again she was still fairly new to the area. She still knew a lot about history. She knew with Damon though she'd learn a lot more.

When the tour was over, she sat beside Damon, stretching her legs out in front of her. "It was nice, I certainly learned things I never knew before." She said, shrugging with a smile. "How about with you? Though I imagine with you being around for what, forever? You'd know a lot." She said playfully, nudging him.

Cassandra smiled and when his hand was offered to her, she accepted it. He was so charming, she couldn't deny that anymore. Charming, smart, handsome, charismatic... not to mention passionate and dangerous. He was like a drug, and Cassie knew how very dangerous it could be to admit what she was feeling. It was like the old Klaus had softened, as if he had become almost human.

She looked over him and she steered him away from the cars and towards the main street. "So, Klaus, what's changed?" She asked him, finally, and she adjusted her purse on her arm.

"You, once upon a time, were the most vicious and ruthless creature on earth. A recluse whom seemed almost mythical." She explained, "And now you're not the same. Still a tad reclusive and very mistrusting, but you... I can see it in you anyway.. and I can see that you're more human... more of a man than a monster. I just want to know what changed you... because a change of this size means that whatever changed you means something to you."

She knew from experience... the reason she reawakened the first time was because she lost the person she loved most. She tightened her grip on his arm slightly. "I know I keep asking, but this new you, this... open minded you, its intriguing."

--

Damon chuckled at her jokes, and he leaned back. "I am only 176 thank you." He said beforw looking to her. "And a loy has changed since I was last here, I can say that much." He said. He then leaned back. "Now, you could ask me just about anything about Mystic Falls, Virginia, and I can tell you."

He sighed a bit, his mind haf been wandering there the whole week he had been gone, but right now he knew there was no reason to return. Besides, he promised Anya they would go to the carnival with her.

"So, where are you from originally, Anya?"

Klaus was a little taken aback by her question. What could he say? He couldn't possibly tell him he had a child living with Rebekah now, no one could know she was still alive. They had to stage her death just for her to survive and his sister took her way out of town. Sighing, he looked ahead as they walked. He cleared his throat and didn't look at her. It was still hard for him to talk about, he wanted to tell her the truth but he didn't know if he could trust her, not yet anyways. There were people around, there were always people around.

"Hayley and I had a daughter together, she died shortly after her birth." Klaus said. He had told what happened so many times, it came real easy to him now. He looked down at Cassie. "A few months ago it happened, we never got a chance to name her." He said, shrugging slightly. "I saw her briefly, before she passed." He said and looked down now as they walked. Hayley took it harder then I did, obviously, but we both got through it. We won't ever completely get over it, there will always be a missing piece, and it doesn't get easier, but.." He shrugged."

- - -

Anya laughed at him. "Only 176, huh?" She asked, rolling her eyes. "Maybe I shouldn't be hanging around such an old man." She said, joking with him as playfully nudged him. When he asked where she was from, she sighed. "Austin, Texas." She said with a small shrug. "No where too fancy." She said. "I was adopted, so the reason why I never knew what I really was, until recently. My I consider my adopted mother like a real mother to me, and I love her just as much as anyone would love their real mother." She told him.

"Anyways, enough of the sob stories, the carnival should be starting soon and last I remembered, you owe me a date there." She told him and stood up, offering out her hand. "Let's go, big shot." She joked.

Cassie listened as Klaus spoke, and she fell silent. "Forgive me, I had no idea." She said, but she still looked to him. "But that's not what changed you. I am an intuitive woman, by nature and by blood, as much impact as that may have had on you, your wall came down before then. Something tells me you met someone that challenged you in a way you never expected. If you don't want to talk about it, I get it. Ending up broken hearted is one of the most traumatic things anyone like us can go through." She said, seeing a flyer for the carnival again, and she looked to him.

"Change in topic though, let's go be human. Skip the stroll and the dancing, let's go to this carnival thing. Plenty of games and rides, and food of both sorts." She said, taking hold of hos hand and walking slightly in front of him and turning to face him. "Let loose, forget all the vampire, werewolf, and witch stuff right?"

She smiled, reminding herself this was how shewould repay him, and perhaps she would get to see more of the man behind the monster. "Come on, I think I know where its at."

--

Damon chuckled at her remark. "Right, jab an age joke at me. Unlike woman vampires, I will tell you my age all day." He said to her, and he allowed her to pull him up. After he paid for their stuff, he draped an arm around her as they headed in the direction of the carnival. He placed a kiss to the side of her head.

It reminded him so much of when he was human. Long days were what he had now, especially since sleep didn't always help him. He liked this gentle reminder though, and he enjoyed this stuff.

He lived a lot of human things. Dancing, dates, parties, and the like. He looked to Anya, "So whst do you want to hit first?"

Klaus looked away from him once more. His eyes glazed over as he thought of recent memories, ones he didn't want to bring up, but she was persistent. Just as he was about to tell her, she changed the subject and he found himself relieved. "The carnival?" He asked her with a raised brow. It had been a couple decades since she went to one of those, but she looked like she really wanted to go so he just smiled at her and nodded. "Let's go then, forget all the supernatural stuff." He said to her and grabbed her hand, "I do know where it's at, love." He said and led her to the bright lights and to where the crowd of people were heading too.

After paying for two tickets and an armband they'd use to get on the rides, he led her inside towards the middle of the carnival. "Where would you like to go first? I'm not afraid of costers or heights, so I'm up for whatever you are up for." He said, hugging her closer to him. He savored this moment, it did feel nice to get away and just forget the real world for a little bed. He was starting to lose himself again, but this young woman was helping him find himself.. his human self.

- - -

Anya laughed at his comment. "I can't help it, you put yourself in the situation." She joked back as they headed to the carnival. The bright lights were beautiful against the dark night sky. She hardly noticed when Damon asked what she wanted to do first then she finally replied. "Let's go to the Ring of Fire, unless you're too scared." She said, looking towards him with raised brows. She pointed towards a plain round circle, a car that would fit 15 people was going in circles, at one point it stopped at the top and stayed there for a minute or two before going back down and up again, staying in a complete circle.

Screams came from there and there was already a line building up. She grabbed his hand and dragged him to the line where they stood, waiting to get on. It didn't take too long before she was showing her armband and getting in a seat, waiting to be strapped and secured in, waiting for Damon to get beside her.

Cassie laughed at Klaus when he spoke. "Klaus? Not afraid of anything? What a shocker!" She laughed, "Just picking fun at you." She said before taking some cotton candy from a cart and placing a dollar down, and she picked a bit and popped it in her mouth before offered some to Klaus.

"Straight colored sugar. Bad for your teeth, good for your soul." She said before she looked up and stopped. "A ferris wheel? Oh my god, I haven't been on one of these in ages. Come on." She said, practically dragging him into the line. In the next line over she saw Damon and Anya, but she didn't bother to acknowledge them.

She looked to Klaus again. "So, where were you before New Orleans? I have been in the area off and on for about a decade, gone off on some other adventures?" She asked.

--

Damon looked to Anya after they got into the line for the Ring of Fire. "I'm not scared. So longas you ddon't get motion sickness, I think we'll be alright." He teased her. The line was fairly long, and as they stood there, he looked around, his eye catching an odd site. Klaus, and Cassie, and they were acting... they were acting human. It was peculiar, but Damon shrugged a bit.

"So, after this want to hit the Haunted House? The Hall of Illusions? Get in line and ride it again?" He asked, and he kept his arm draped over her.

"This carnival is a lot bigger than the last few I have been to." He said.

Klaus rolled his eyes at her witty comment. "Sometimes I wonder why you didn't take up being a comedian." He joked with her as he took the cotton candy. "Sweet aren't really my thing, but then again I've never had this stuff." He said, looking at it curiously. "Because my teeth rotting is the worst thing that could happen to me." He said, putting a ball of the sweet cotton in his mouth. It melted almost instantly. It was good, still not exactly up his alley, but it would be fine. He couldn't help but give her a small smile as she led him to the ferris wheel. It had been ages since he had been on one himself.

As they waited in line, he looked over to where the screams were coming. The Ring of Fire. It looked.. interesting, but that's not what caught his eyes. He noticed Damon Salvatore and the witch girl beside him as they waited in line. He looked back towards Cassie and in almost no time, they were getting on the cart. "It's been awhile since I've been on one of these." He finally said as they waited for all the carts to be filled up before starting.

- - -

Anya rolled her eyes and nudged his chest. "I don't get sick, ever." She said, holding her hand up mockingly at him. "Hm. The Haunted House.. sounds interesting, though I'm not sure what there could possibly be for me to be afraid of now. I know most things already exist." She said, glancing at him out of the corner of her eyes. "They don't seem to be all that evil." She shrugged as it was time for them to get on. She hadn't noticed Cassie and Klaus close to them, she was only focused on Damon.

The carnie secured the pair in their seats and the cage closed in on them. Music blared all around them, something upbeat and what sounded like rock music. The ride started, going back and forth real slow before going in fast circles. At one point they were suspended from the air, upside down. A couple minutes later, the ride went in more circles before finishing its round and stopping.

Anya got out when they were released, she got out and waited on Damon. "So what'd you think?" She asked with a broad grin.

Cassie shot a glance over to Klaus when they got in the cart. They had moved up slightly to fill s couple more, so now their conversation actually felt private. "I know what you mean. I want to say it's been since the seventies I have been on one." She said to him, her eyes moving first before her head did. She looked off to the side as the ride began actually moving, and she smiled.

"You know Klaus, for a hybrid and a vampire, I have to say we're kinda getting this whole human thing." She said, turning back to face him. It was weird, the closest she had been to someone else uad been right here, right now, at least this was true for the while. She couldn't honestly recall the last time, but it was nice.

After a moment, the ride stopped at the top, andshe looked out to the horizon to see the sunwas setting. "Some things, no matter how old you are or how many times you see them, always hold real beauty." She said, the smile that had been twitching at her lips finally revealing itself, "WWouldn't you say so?"

--

Damon chuckled after they were let on the ride. Well, at least she really didn't get motion sickness. He was very grateful for that, and once they were let off the ride, he pretended to think of an answer for her. "I liked it. Could jave gone a little longer, but it's a carnival, got to keep you coming back somehow, right?"

He chuckled, looking about before seeing another ride that he just never understood. It was ultimately a carousel, but it went faster and a couple of times went backwards. He offen found himself wondering if they just made stuff like that so people would lose the last thing they ate.

"What about that one over there, or did you want to try a few games?" He asked, pointing to ttthe ride he never understood.

The ride had a romantic setting to it, no wonder why this was the most popular ride for couples. It had stopped them at the top, like it always did. In the distance, the sun was setting, it could barely be seen now, lighting the sky up in shades of pink and purple and orange. It was quite beautiful. He stole a glance at Cassie and noted she was more beautiful then the setting sun. Feelings began to stir inside him, feelings he hadn't been to familiar with, not in awhile at least. Not really since Caroline. Sure he liked Cammie, but in now way he felt towards the other blonde that held his heart in Mystic Falls.

He glanced back towards the setting sun when she began to turn her head. He smirked at his comment. "I agree." He said, his voice soft and not like him. He looked back over at Cassie and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Like you, for example." He said and leaned in, giving her a short and soft kiss on the lips before pulling back just slightly, smiling at her. "Me too." He joked with his signature smirk on his face.

- - -

Anya rolled her eyes, but laughed softly. "You're so right, Mr. Salvatore." She said. She glanced at the ride he was pointing out and just looking at it made her feel a little queasy. "I never liked those, probably the only ride I'd get sick on." She said and she grinned at him when he suggested games. "Oh, Damon, you wouldn't want to go against me. I'm a professional at carnival games." She said, holding her arms up like a champion would do. "You don't want to go against this." She said, pointing two of her fingers at herself.

"But.. I guess if you have that much confidence in yourself.. we can certainly try." She said, her tone innocent and sweet as she put her hands behind her back and fluttered her eyeslashes at him.

Cassie felt his lips brush against hers and she kissed back, but pulled away when he did and regained her composure. She knew how dangerous it was to feel something more than simple physical attraction, but... they had kissed. Even sex was as personal as a kiss was. She allowed the thought to die in her mind before they began moving again and soon they were let off the ride and she began walking withKlaus.

"So, now what? More rides? Games? Food?" She asked. "I picked the ferris wheel, so now to be fair, its your turn." She said. She sighed, taking off her heels and holding them by the straps as she walked on the dirt and asphalt. It felt oddly human to do, and she even stopped and waited for Klaus.

"Well?" She asked.

--

Damon chuckled. "At least you admit to getting sick on that one. Seriously, I wonder if it was a contest to see who could make the ride where the most peopke would throw up on." He said, and he just smirked at her display.

"Alright, big guns, pick a game." He said to her before he looked at the prizes they had. Huge stuffed animals, dinky little things. And the kids playing, he thought were cute. He looked down to her, being just slightly taller. "Ready?"

Klaus chuckled when she told him it was his turn to pick now. "Well, I'm not too keen on the games. They have those things rigged so you spend a bunch of money for a prize when you shouldn't have too. Easy games, though. Shouldn't be that hard." He said with raised brows. "I am actually quite.. hungry." He said to her with a smirk. "Maybe we should find some dinner? I hadn't had anything since this morning." He said, already scouting the area they were in for possible food.

He watched as she took her shoes off and smiled. "You're really getting this mortal thing down, aren't you?" He asked, sliding his hand in her own.

- - -

Anya laughed whimsically at his comment. "You know, I wouldn't doubt it at all." She said, looking back over at the ride before biting her lip and looking away from it. She looked up at him when he told her to pick a game. She looked at the different booths set up and found a fortune telling booth, she stared at it amusingly. "Let's go get my fortune read." She said. Maybe it'll humor her. She looked over at Damon and gently tugged his hand as she led him to the booth. There were a couple of people in front of them, so she'd have to wait.

"Do you believe in this type of stuff?" She asked him curiously.

His words echoed in her mind. She felt an eerie ring in her ears, like deja vu. She shook the feeling, trying her hardest not to remember if or when she had heard those words before. Then she felt warmth in her hand, and she looked down to see Klaus' hand in her own. "Looks like you're catching onto it too." She said.

She forgot the world for a moment. It was nice, but she couldn't let herself do this... she couldn't allow herself to fall in love. Especially with Klaus.

She looked up and spotted a couple ahead of them and she let go of his hand. "You got breakfast, I'll go get dinner." She said, walking off towards the couple and compelling them to come with her.

--

Damon pooled to Anya when she said something about getting her fortu e read and he was silent for a while. Then she asked him... and he thought a moment how to explain his answer.

"For the longest time I didn't, but now I do." He said. "If they're real, and you'll know, I would heed it... because everytime someone I have met has a sense like that... its right. It's what made me believe in this stuff." He admitted.

Soon iy was Anya's turn and he looked to her. "You ready for this?"

Klaus chuckled when she said he was catching on to it as well. "I've had decades, decades, and decades of practice to get it down." He said, smiling. It felt nice to just walk with her on the boardwalk, hand in hand, it really did feel almost human. He smirked when she said she'd get dinner and went to a couple just ahead of them. He watched closely as she compelled the two of them and brought them back to where Klaus was. It was darker where they were out and besides them and the couple, there was no one in sight. "Let's dig in." He said teasingly as he let his fangs out, his eyes changing, sinking his teeth into his victim.

He drank for a couple minutes, filling up, then licked the wound and healed it with his own blood, compelling both people to forget what happened and to carry on. He watched as they talked away and traced his thumb on his bottom lip to make sure there was no blood left behind. "Shall we find another ride? Or are you up for some games?" He asked her.

- - -

Anya stared at Damon curiously when he spoke. She wasn't sure if she believed in this stuff or not, she never really seen a gypsy. Before she knew it, her turn had came and when Damon asked if she was ready, she rolled her eyes. "Damon, I'm a powerful, out of control witch who has people coming after me for my powers, I think I can take on a fortune teller." She said before disappearing through the curtain, leaving him behind. She wished he could be there, but it wasn't allowed. She sat down on the pillow in front of a woman with a turban on and a dress made of different colors and designs. In front of them was a stack of tarot cards, a crystal ball, and a lit candle. Anya decided to get just the crystal ball. She handed the gypsy woman her money and smiled.

The gypsy got to work. Anya watched curiously as the ball began to smoke up. Some special effects this lady had here. "I see a man in your future, tall, handsome, but dangerous with a dangerous past." Anya looked at the woman. Could she mean Damon? He was all of those things. "You two will be happy, you will be the one who will change him." That made Anya beam inside. Could she be the one to change Damon? "You will join him at a dance in a town called Mystic Falls in Virginia." The gypsy said. How did this woman know where he came from? A dance? "It is there you will meet your fate. Your powers will become too strong.. you won't be able to control yourself and it'll get a hold of you.." The gypsy said, trailing off, her voice growing sad. "What?" Anya spoke up, lifting her head. What fate? "That is all, my dear." The gypsy said, motioning for Anya to leave.

The young witch got up and nodded, thanking the gypsy as she walked out back to Damon, quickly recomposing herself. She couldn't tell him what she was told. "See? Told you it was a fraud." She said, walking off to a nearby game, a dart throwing game.

Cassie finished up her dinner, healing and compelling in a similar fashion Klaus had and she wiped the excess blood from her face and looked to him. Why him? The most dangerous creature she could feel atteacted to, she was, but no one would get her to admit it. No one.

She gave a smirk and took his arm after slipping her shoes back on. "Let's see if we find one we like." She told him, and as they walked by she saw a fortune telling booth. A hand came onto her arm before they approached it.

"Ma'am, will you help me? That woman down there keeps stealing all my business for fortune telling. Will you sit through a session with me?" She asked her, and Cassie looked to Klaus.

"Sure." She said before she spoke to Klaus. "I won't be long. Find us a game."

She enyered the booth and could smell the sage burning before she saw the candles lit and a book open on the table before a crystal ball. She was a practicing witch it seemed, one that traveled with the carnival, and using very mild grade spells. "Please sit."

Cassie nodded and the woman took her hands, her eyes glazing over as she spoke. "A great darkness looms in you, awaiting to resurface. Your heart is the trigger, and an unexpected trip away from here for a ball will cause major problems. Those you try to protect, you feel you are failing, and the one your heart yearns for will break it unknowingly."

Cassie took her hands away before laying out some money and walking out. She found Klaus easily and put on a smile. "So, this is what you've picked?"

--

Damon looked to Anya when she came out and he nodded. "Alright, if you say so. Maybe she wasn't real then. Not like real real, but like fortune telling real." He said to her before looking as Cassie came out of a booth not far down as they walked past it looking for games. The woman came out and looked to Damon.

"Sir, would you like to have your fortune read?" she asked and he looked to Anya.

"You know what, not today ma'am, thanks for the offer though." He said to her and she nodded as they headed over to a ring game. Get the ring on the bottle, well rings on bottles. He paid the game runner and handed Anya the rings before his phone rang. It was... Shrieff Forbes?

"I will be right back. I have to take this." He said to her, walking off a bit. "Yes, Liz?"

"Damon, the Founder's Ball is coming up, and it would be great if you could come. Seeing as though Carol is gone and the other Founding Families are looking a little grim." she said, a sigh coming past his lips.

"Alright. I will head that way tomorrow." He said, looking over to Anya.

"Oh, and Klaus has been invited back as well. So play nicely." She said before hanging up andhe sighed before heading back over to Anyawith a smile. He would tell her in a bit.

Klaus smiled when she said they could find a game they liked. They were walking where the games were set up when a hang grabbed onto Cassie's. He smiled and nodded as she went to get her fortune read. He wasn't sure how he felt about those type of things, but he wasn't sure of a lot of things these days. Sighing, he went to find them a game, heading towards one set up with balloons on a wall, in order to win you had to pop five balloons with a dart, and that was for a medium price, for a big prize you would have to pop ten. He scanned the stuffed animals on the top shelf and smiled when he saw one that looked like a wolf.

He waited for Cassie before starting, smiling towards her. "Yes, I'm pretty good at dart throwing, thanks." He said and gave the carnie his money before he was handed five darts, which he would get back for another five. When he positioned himself and became focused, he started throwing the darts at a fast pace, hitting every balloon it came in contact with. Impressed, the carnie asked Klaus which big prize he wanted and picking the wolf, he got it down and handed it to him, which Klaus then handed to Cassie. "I though you'd see the humor in this." He said, his lips in a tight smile as he kept himself from busting out in laughter.

His pocket vibrated and Klaus took out his phone, seeing it was Caroline. Why was she calling him? "Excuse me, love." He said before walking a few feet from Cassie and answering. "Yes?" He asked, his voice smooth and collected. "It's me. My mom is making me call you to let you know the Founders' Ball is coming up and she wants you to come." Caroline said, clearly not too thrilled about being the one to ask him. "I'm not a founding family, though." Klaus said, a little confused. "Yeah, well talk to my mom about it. I don't know. Just come, okay?" She said before hanging up. He had to admit, it felt nice hearing her voice again, but he went back to Cassie at the game. "What are you're plans for the weekend, love?" He asked her.

- - -

Anya smiled at Damon as he denied the offer by the fortune teller. They headed to a ring toss game, each getting a few rings to toss and try to make. Anya was about to go when Damon had a phone call. She nodded and watched as he walked off, wondering what that was about. She looked back to the carney to let him know she was ready and started to toss the rings. Out of five, she made four, which wasn't too bad. She paid for one more round, this time becoming more focused. She threw the rings and this time made every one on the same bottle, she wasn't sure how she had done it, had she accidentally used magic then, too? She really needed to learn to control herself.

The carney handed her a stuffed penguin, she thanked him before walking over to Damon who just got off the phone. "Look what I won." She said with a wide grin, handing the penguin to him. "It's usually traditional the guy wins for the girl, but oh well, this is for you." She said, reaching up to give him a peck on the cheek.

Cassie smiled as he handed her the large stuffed wolf and she chuckled. "I do. But it's just too adorable, thank you." She said to him, placing a chaste kiss to his cheek before he walked off taking a call. It might have been wrong what she was doing, but she tuned in her hearing and listened.

Oh no... the woman calling him mentioned a ball. Thay clairvoyant was good. When Klaus came back over, Cassie had set her wolf on the counter for a game where you threw rings on moving rubber decks. She paid for a few rings and threw them, making them effortlessly onto the ducks.

"This weekend? Well, you know the usual, hit the library, call a few informants, find out what I can about these hunters." She said, and the woman handed her the prize she picked out. It was a large stuffed snake and she handed it to Klaus. "Why, did you have something in mind?"

-

Damon looked to Anya and accepted the penguin with a smile. He looked around and headed over to a basketball game where a large teddy bear was a prize, and he paid the runner before he looked back to Anya. He dribbled the ball a couple of times before shooting and making it in.

"So, Anya, how would you feel about making a trip with me this weekend? Cassie and Klaus may be heading that way too, so we won't be alone, but I just got a call to go back home. Being part of one of the founding families in Mystic Falls gives me certain responsibilities I guess." He said, and after pointing to the large stuffed bear and handing it to Anya.

"The founder's ball is kind of a big deal. And if you need a dress, I am sure one of the girls will go shopping with you." He said to her.

Klaus chuckled when she told him her plans for the weekend. "Well, cancel all your plans. You will be joining me as my date for Mystic Falls Founders ball." He said as he followed her to a new game and watched as she made the rings on the ducks perfectly. He pressed his mouth into an amused smirk as she handed him a snake. "I don't get it." He joked, holding the snake up, but brought Cassie close to him and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I'll cherish it." He said, holding the snake close to him as they walked onward.

"What do you say?" He asked, taking her from the carnival and to the beach where the moon was up and the stars shone brightly. It was beautiful out here, and he enjoyed it. They strolled on the sand, the waves by them lapping against the rocks, making a soothing sound.

Anya smiled when he led her to a basketball game. She watched as he made every basket and smiled softly when he handed her a large teddy bear. "You must have played basketball in one of those many decades you've been alive, maybe in some school you were in?" She said playfully as she held the bear close. The carnival crowd was starting to die down as the night grew on and Anya felt herself grow tired as well, and hungry. A low growl came from the pit of her stomach, but she put it aside as she listened to his offer.

"That actually sounds.. wonderful. I need a weekend away and I'm looking forward to seeing this Mystic Falls you talk about." She said to him as she placed her hand in his. "Now, I'm feeling some funnel cake, always my favorite part of carnivals, fairs, or anything that has funnel cakes." She said as she easily found a cart which sold the powdery cakes. She ordered herself one and paid for it, taking it from the man. "Let's sit down." She said as she went to find a small round table. She sat the chair in one seat and sat down in another free seat, biting into the powdery pastry.

Cassie looked to Klaus when he asked her if she would go with. She thought about it. It would seem awfully weird if she didn't go, but she actually took the fortune teller seriously. Perhaps she could change whatever the woman saw though. "I'll go with you, have to do a bit of shopping, but there's a place or two in Richmond that sells glorious dresses. Suppose I could make a day of it when we get there." She said before she looked out to the water.

"Suppose I should head home then. Pack my things so I'm ready. I, and believe me I am surprised I am even saying this, had a fun, human, time." She chuckled. "A vampire and a hybrid having a good time like humans, still a little warped to me."

She placed a kiss on his cheek before she backed up and flashed off. When she got home, she set the stuffed wolf on her bed and pulled out a suitcase and began packing her things for the trip before she looked to the books she had checked out.

"I suppose we shall see how well I do." She muttered to herself.

Damon was glad she agreed to come back with him, qnd he even bought himself a funnel cake and ate with her. It was pure sigar, but it was good. He almost wished he had been human to enjoy it. He missed being human, as little as he admitted it.

He smiled to her thougj. It jad been so long since he felt so in touch with his humanity, it was one of his on and off the rails problems. He was unpredictable most of the time, but he was warming. And at an alarming rate. Like with...

He hadn't thought of Elena in a while, but Anya had done a good job of making him forget. She had been the reason he left in the first place and now he was returning. With Anya... this would be an interesting return trip.

"Excellent, maybe you could take Anya with you?" He asked curiously, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. She did care for the witch girl, he could see it. He chuckled at her next comment. "I had a grand human time with you as well, Cassandra." He said, her name just rolling off his tongue once more. He was a little surprised at the simple kiss on the cheek, but it still made him smile, and then she was gone. Sighing as the smile stayed on his face, he went back home where Elijah was waiting on him at the door. Looking towards him, then back at the snake, Klaus gave him a 'don't ask' look before he went to his room, placing the snake on a nearby chair.

He stripped down to just his jeans when Elijah came in the room to speak to him. "You're growing quite fond of this girl, brother." He said, walking over to pick the stuffed snake up. "It doesn't concern you, Elijah." Klaus said, her face going into a dangerous snarl. "It does after everything that has occurred, and I know how you are, Niklaus." Elijah said to him, his voice calm and collected. "I'm fine." Klaus said, his voice not so calm. "Very well." Elijah said before leaving Klaus for bed. Sighing, Klaus laid down and stared up at the ceiling, thinking of his night with Cassie as he drifted to sleep.

The young witch was a little surprised when Damon ordered himself a funnel cake. "I thought vampire were always on a strict blood diet?" She asked jokingly. She finished up her funnel cake and wiped her mouth and hands as she threw the paper plate away. "I hate to cut this short, but I'm super tired." She said, stifling in a yawn as she walked back over to Damon. "I'm sure you've got a lot of stuff yourself to do before we leave tomorrow." She told him and leaned down to give him a gentle and soft kiss on the lips. "I'll see you tomorrow." She said softly before grabbing her teddy bear and turning on her heels, walking back to her apartment.

When she was inside, she changed into a pair of plaid pajama pants and a black camisole. She placed the teddy bear on her couch and smiled as she stared at it. After drinking a glass of water and brushing her teeth, she let her hair down and brushed through it before retiring to bed, eager to see what the weekend could be like. She'd have to pack in the morning, right now she didn't feel like she had the energy too. Soon enough, Anya drifted to sleep.

The next morning, Cassie arrived at Mikealson manor early in the morning, and she looked ready for something... that was certain. Her hair was up in a ponytail, the natural waves showing threw. Her frame was covered in a white sundress thay cinched at her waist with a black belt and a black leather jacket topped it all off. Her black peep toes kicked her off, and Rebekah came out just as Cassie was heading in.

"Wow, Cassie. You look... what are you doing here?" Rebekah asked.

"I am accompanying Klaus to Mystic Falls for some sort of ball."she answered, and Rebekah looked at her.

"I bet you are excited. Getting to meet the famous Caroline." She sarcastically remarked.

"Who is Caroline?" Cassie asked, and Rebekah gave a look.

"Well since you two are getting close, I suppose you have a right to know. She's a newbie vampire that he fancies, or fancied. He has become quite taken with you, so I think it's past tense " she said. "Anyway, have fun, be careful, and be wary, Mystic Falls is another epicenter for supernaturals."

Cassie watched as Rebekah left and she shook her head, heading up to Klaus's room . "Klaus, are you ready?"
