Since the collapse of the Republic the galaxy has fragmented into numerous states. Major military and economic hubworlds have claimed vast reaches of space, and while a full-scale galactic war has not broken out tensions are high. The current major powers within the galaxy are:

The Republic of Kuat, an oligarchic-corporatist state dominated by the Kuati Noble Families and the massive Kuat Drive Yards corporation.

The Corellia-Duro League, an authoritarian state under the control of the Corellian Diktat that rules over the entirety of the Corellian Sector and heavily taxes the Corellian Run trade route.

The Federation of Dac, centered around the world of Dac (often called Mon Calamari), a Representative Democracy that is the dominant power in the galactic north.

The Fondor Empire, a militaristic dictatorship that controls the galactic south portion of the Core.

The Rim Alliance, centered around the planet Sullust, is a loose coalition of worlds in the galactic south, most prominently Sullust, Sluis Van, and Thyferra.

The Chiss Ascendancy, an isolationist nation within the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. They remain relatively unchanged from their political status a thousand years ago, having barely had diplomatic relations with the Republic before it collapsed, and conducts no diplomacy with the new galactic states.

Dozens of other states exist, some only singular planets or systems, others spanning as much as a sector, but those six are the dominant forces with the economy and military to wage war on a galactic scale. It should be noted that the formation of these states began before the Republic truly collapsed as Republic power gradually slipped through the fingers of the senate and to the powerful worlds.

The Jedi Order has fragmented into numerous splinter orders, too many to count. The Order had been breaking apart before the downfall of the Republic, differing philosophical and political opinions the wedges that the collapse of the Republic drove in. These are the major philosophical divisions, however there are numerous others throughout the galaxy.

The Watcher Philosophy holds that the Jedi should protect and serve the people of the galaxy at behest of their own consciences, beholden only to the people of the galaxy and a Council of Masters, without the repression of the Traditionalist. They are most akin to the reformed New Jedi Order of Luke Skywalker. Their Orders are known simply as the Jedi Watchers, and are the most moderate of the New Orders.

The Guardians hold that their place is on the battlefield, not simply defending but actively seeking out injustice and evil throughout the galaxy, particularly the corrupting influence of the Dark Side. They are most akin to Kyp Durron's more aggressive branch of the New Jedi Order. They are known simply as the Jedi Guardians, taking a name from the Warrior-Jedi of ancient times.

The Conciliators hold that the Jedi is anywhere but the battlefield, holding that for a Jedi to take up a weapon and use the Force in combat is directly contrary to the Jedi way, and that their place should be healing and bringing peace to the galaxy through words rather than a blade. They are known as the Jedi Consulars, following the style of the Guardians.

The Leaders hold that the Jedi must take an active role in the galaxy, not simply serving but directly guiding the course of events. The Leaders have split into two factions - the Jedi Lords, who hold that their place is as direct rulers of the galaxy, and the Jedi Guides, who hold that their place is as a separate but equal arm of the government alongside a Senate and Court.

The Monks believe that the Jedi involving themselves in affairs of the galaxy is foolish, believing that their only priority should be meditation and study on the Force, all else is transitory. The Jedi who espouse these beliefs have no special name, only known as the Jedi Monks.

The Traditionalists hold that the Jedi should return to their ancient ways before the Jedi Purge, returning to only recruiting young children and a highly stoic, ascetic lifestyle with emotion and attachment heavily discouraged. The people of the galaxy know them as the Old Jedi.

The Independents believe that a Jedi Order is a fundamentally flawed concept, and structuring the Force and its wielders into a neat hierarchy is foolish, the only Order there should be is a Master and his or her Students, with each Student eventually going his or her own way and eventually becoming a Master and taking on students. The Jedi who follow this way have become known as the Knights Errant.

The Theocrats believe that knowledge of the Force and the way of the Light should be spread throughout the cosmos, and that ultimately the path to a peaceful, unified galaxy lies through all beings understanding and following the ways of the Light. There are two major sects of the Priests - those called the Jedi Mystics believe in the Force as it is known, an energy field that binds together all beings, and their religious aspects resemble Animism, while those known as the Jedi Priests believe that the Light and Dark Side are intelligent entities, one good, one evil.

Your character is present at a Grand Conclave, representatives from most of the New Orders and Galactic States gathered on Graveyard Station to attempt to stop the outbreak of war. The Jedi also have some additional concerns, sensing the Dark Side stirring in the Rim.

Affiliation: Jedi- Order of the Grey: The Order of the Grey was founded during the time of the Old Republic after the war with the Sith Empire by former Jedi Master Zar'kun Je'and. Having spent time as both a Jedi and member of the Sith Order, he came to regard the Force as nothing more than grey that the two Orders gave colors to. They believe that emotion is good and necessary, but allowing things lie anger and hate to consume you is the bad, but still a human mistake. Here is their code:

OPTIONAL BACK STORY: Jason Je'and is the descendant of the first Grey Zar'kun Je'and, born to the parents Steven and Stella Je'and, both of the Order of the Grey as well. The Order of the Grey was fortunate to avoid the great Jedi Purge during the Rise of the Empire by disappearing into unknown parts of space, areas that the Empire would never explore. His parents, both Masters within the Order, his father the First of the Order, had been trained by Steven's father, Argon, who was trained by his father Hunter, all the way back to Zar'kun. Through this method of training and teaching, the Order of the Grey's tenants were preserved by the same family that had begun it. As he grew up, his father ran him through numerous exercises and training scenarios that were far more rigorous than anything the other trainees had to endure. He endured this for fifteen years, starting from when he turned six.

They forged him into a lethal weapon and peace keeping negotiator, but often times he would prefer to let his actions speak louder than his words. Diplomats who would arrive with the intent to kill the other party would often find their assassins dead or in an infirmary for treatment if he oversaw negotiations, Jason unwilling to allow deciet to dictate the setting of the meeting. As he grew in power, he became wiser with each and every mission and peace talk, whether real or fake, learning the ins and outs of not just combat with lightsabers and blasters, but verbal combat, many of which he'd have never learned with continued training with his father. Because he saw diplomatic missions so often, part of his training was in a diverse number of languages, including Shyriiwook and it's variations, Sulustan, and Twi'lek. He attempted to learn Sand People, but they were often ones for talking before shooting at people.

For four years, he trained other members of the Order of the Grey in between diplomatic and combat missions for it to prove he was worthy of being the First, missions that taught him that not only was there a need for brawn, but compassion and caring, for those outside his order. Many of the worlds he helped to achieve peace he would return to help the poor and needy, taking his apprentices with him to teach them how compassion can change both the violent and the peaceful for the better. Six months prior to the meeting, he succeeded her father as the First and now comes to represent their galactic interests.

Other: Force Fire and Phase Walking are ancient Force techniques that the Force using members of the Je'and have studied and mastered over generations. Phase Walking was only recently mastered within the last two. Also, it should be noted that there is a Bounty Hunting branch of the Je'and family, currently headed by Jason's cousin Jace. Zar'kun had two sons, Jerus and Terrance, who walked different paths in life.

Force Fire- Operates similar to Force Lightning, but with more of a flame thrower appearance and gives the ability to use fire based abilities like fireballs.

Phase Walk-Force ability that allows someone to bend space and time to phase from one place to another in seconds. Distance limit of five miles and extremely weakening after use.

Appearance: Elona looks more like a Spacer, than she does a Jedi. But a well-dressed spacer at that. Her appearance is to blend in, and become the crowd and wearing a robe just does not help with that. That said, she has an assortment of clothing to help blending into all sorts of crowds, whether they be a dirty cantina, or a high-flying soiree, she had what she needs.

While she does have a scar going across the left side of her face, she tends to keep it hidden from view usually with help from whatever means she has available, that said a good scar can sometimes make or break a certain types of disguise, so she keeps it out of necessity.

Abilities: Elona is no warrior barely having had any training with the use of a Lightsaber, instead when it comes to a situations that requires the use of force, she is more than likely to use her hands and feet, over a blade. Considering the abundance of blasters in the galaxy, Elona has learned, albeit with great difficulty how to deflect blaster bolts with her bare hands this in theory could be extended to block a lightsaber but that is something she has no intentions of trying anytime soon.

Other than the most basic of force powers, Elona’s experience with the force more or less ends there. That said, thanks to the Force she is a natural when it comes to many things, she just doesn’t really that it’s the force that allows her to do any of what she considers to be considerably skilled at. One could say she has an approximate amount of skills in many things,

Possessions: Elona only owns two things, her Yellow bladed Lightsaber, and the ship she travels on. The fact that her ship is full of many things does not count towards the amount of things she has.

Personality: Even as a Jedi, a Watchmen at that, Elona goes out of her way to avoid using the Force. Believing that a Jedi is not made by their ability to command the mystical and unknown, but by their actions. While she is no stranger to the finer intricacies of combat, she is of the opinion that starting a fight without exhausting every possible solution is a weakness to one's self. Being a Jedi allows her to help anyone who requires it, but that does not mean she must flaunt her affiliation around willy nilly, a Jedi’s true strength comes from people not seeing her as a Jedi, but a person.

That said, Elona unknowingly puts on a facade of happiness and hope, so that others needn't see her in her at her weakest. Just a simple smile can brighten someone's day, and if that keeps her past hidden away from those who simply did not need to know, then so be it. She would continue to fight the good fight, even if the light at the end of the tunnel had a nary a brightness to it. She would do what needed to be done.

OPTIONAL BACKSTORY: Born on the Outer-Rim trade planet of Eriadu, Elona found herself living a plentiful life in a Galaxy that was slowly, but ever so surely falling apart at the seams. While her wealthy-endowed family was holding many a party, millions died across the galaxy because the infrastructure to support them was simply not there any more. Of course Elona didn’t know this, she had not reason to know it anyways, and why would she? She was nothing more than a spoilt little rich kid, who got everything she ever needed.

That was up until the part where her life fell apart, when her father’s ship building company decided it didn’t want to make anymore money. Suddenly everything she had held for granted was just gone, and there nothing she could do. Gone were the days of lavish parties, the fine silks and other such fabrics, and replaced by a crippling debt, that saw the family torn apart.

Elona’s father, Gregoire, felt that he had but no other option than to do whatever was necessary for the survival of his family. This would have worked out, had it not been for the small fact the people he worked with happened to be criminals. The kind of criminals who changed the terms at every corner, undercutting any chance for him to make any amount of reasonable credits. They simply didn’t care for him, other than the fact Gregoire made their organization money.

Eventually, Gregoire’s crippling debts claimed his life, and left the Rhays family with no one to lead them. For Elona, this meant only one thing for her. She was picked up by her late fathers ‘associates’ and would go on to spend the next seven years of her life, as a slave to a not exactly prominent Hutt Lord. The events of those seven years, is something she doesn’t talk to anyone about, and for good reason.

Her freedom was granted simply by the fact her owner died of some manner of aliment, she never understood Hutt’s to understand what was wrong with him, other than something was wrong with him. Her freedom was guaranteed by writ of the Hutt, while the rest of his stock was resold, she was was given her life back. For what little good that was to her at that point, so she did the only thing she could think of, get as far away from the hell hole that was Nar Shaddaa as fast as possible. Hitching a ride the first freighter she could find, she soon enough found her self on Coruscant, a planet she had only visited a few times before.

For a time she got by, one meal at a time, unsure of there would ever to a next one. Coruscant was hardly the jewel of the Galaxy has she had remembered it as, now it was a world of broken dreams. Which made it a rather fitting place for her to live, in a twisted ironic kind of sense. However, it might of been the only thing that saved her, Even when she had nothing, she wasn’t one to let others be bullied into submission, she stood up for the little guy when no one else would.

if she hadn’t had this kind of attitude, then it’s very possible she would have never figured out she was a force sensitive. She had always been good at what she did, a side effect of having the force, But her ‘awakening’ was hardly a pleasant one, she found out about having the force by accidentally ripping a man into two pieces. Like anyone else in her position she was nothing but horrified by what she had done. Never before had she killed someone, and the fact the deed was done by the force made everything all the more worse.

But, because of her awakened nature, she was now a beacon. A beacon that said ‘here I am, also I did bad things’. But Coruscant wasn’t exactly a hive of Jedi, as it once was, and it wasn’t until some months later than a Jedi travelled to the planet, and felt her commanding presence on the planet. Feeling the need to put closure to the calling, he searched for Elona, who was now little more than a broken mess and took her away to somewhere safe, or at least safer than Coruscant at any rate.

He spent many days healing the young Elona, the Force was many things, but it wasn’t a cure-all. Elona had demons of her own to confront, no amount of contact with the force would change that. But, the Jedi sensed that with enough care and attention, Elona could be molded into a fine example of a Jedi.

After some time, Elona awoke to find herself somewhere unfamiliar, yet she didn’t fear for her self, in fact she felt calm, as if where ever she was simply asked her to be. It was quiet, and that above all else, scared her the most. She was used to hearing the voices others, the sound of a city going day by day, now all she could hear was the soothing sound of a water fountain, and a couple of birds flying around outside.

The Jedi introduced himself as Watchmen Edgard, a member of a rather pro-active Jedi sect, that went out of it’s way to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, and see no harm brought to the masses. It didn’t take her long to realise this was a sales pitch, and not just a statement. While Edgard offered her a way out, she knew that accepting his offer of training was the only real option she had.

And so Edgard trained his new apprentice in the ways of the force, a fast learner she was not. At first brash and always willing to bring out the fists, or use a commanding posture, he soon enought taught her that a Jedi’s greatest strength was when someone saw them as just another person, not a Jedi. Coupled with the fact that her training was done more or less completely in the field, she had a bank of experience to fall back upon, which she put to good use.

But Edgard was only one man, he didn’t have the resources he had during his training, and he dared not bring Elona to the Council, for fear they’d cast her out for the darkness she harboured within her. As such her training was flawed, to a certain definition. It was hard to teach someone how to use a lightsaber, when you only had the one, and considered drawing the weapon a failure. Instead he taught her to rely on not just the force, but herself.

A Jedi wasn’t made simply because they could use the force, and carried a blade of contained plasma. No, a Jedi was made by the good they did to the galaxy, and she was taught to hold that lesson close.

Elona didn’t encounter a second Jedi until some years into her training, by this point no more a mere apprentice. The encounter could of went better, Edgard was accused of harbouring a dark-sider away from the Jedi, Elona didn’t understand it, while she felt at peace with her actions, the rather brutal murder of the thug some years back on Coruscant, was still something that held her back, and someone fluent in the force would mistakenly believe her a dark-sider than a Jedi.

Edgard was forced to bring Elona before the Council, what little remained of the Watchmen Council, could see the wisdom in what he had tried to do, but ultimately didn’t believe that she was a worthy cause, the taint of the dark was too far along with her, that they felt no other choice but to imprison Elona, for both her own safety and that of the rest of the Galaxy.

Needless to say, Elona was not best pleased by this decision, she had been tried and sentenced without ever had the chance to defend herself, and now she found herself trapped in a place that thought itself a people for good.

Edgard knew one thing, if the Council got their own way, then Elona would eventually fall to the dark side, and that would have only proved their points. He couldn’t allow that, not only was Elona a friend, she deserved a chance to redeem herself. Not to himself, she had severed under his wing for years, he already trusted her with his life, no he needed Elona to prove to herself and the Watchmen that she was no pawn of the darkness, but that she was a servant of the light, just like himself and the rest of the Watchmen.

In the dead of the night, he snuck into where Elona was being held until such a time as a more permanent means of containment could be arranged, and freed he her from the shackles that dampened her force powers. But he would not leave with her, instead he handed her his lightsabre and told her simply to go forth and do good. He would have to stay and face judgement for what he had just done, and accepted that.

Taking his ship, as instructed she escaped away from the planet that the Watchmen called home, and sped off as far away as possible. But for the first time in years, she wasn’t lost, nor without a cause. She knew exactly what had to do, bring light to a dark galaxy. And so she did, travelling from planet to planet, she used her powers for good, but not openly. The galaxy was a volatile place, and while some people needed the hope that the Jedi were still out there helping. More people just needed to know that someone was helping.

While she knew that her actions alone would never amount to much, she simply didn’t care. If she inspired hope in just one person, and that one person went on to do great things, then she had already succeeded. Of course she could never really prove that, since she didn’t have the option of looking into the future, but that wasn’t the point.

And then the call came, for all Jedi to come. She didn’t needed to think twice about it, soon as she knew where to go, just punched in the hyperspace coordinates and was off.
