So, I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, and with some free time on my hands, I figured I'd see if others could be interested. We'll be playing as a new Joint wing, number yet to be determined, so you can be from any of the nations. So, any takers?

Well, I tried running one of these and it collapsed.

So I'm game to try again.

So, any plans for characters? Just thought it would be interesting to see what kind of team we'd have. I was thinking of a Karlsland Night Witch, maybe.

Will there be land witches?

I think it comes Down to what we want most. It could be interesting. Very interesting. I'll take it into consideration. Having joint operations between air and land could lead to some great scenarios.

Very interested in playing. I have both strike and land witch concepts I can use and would be happy to pursue either way. I'm leaning towards land witches though.

Sky: Bomber witch, either Liberion or Britannian, but with plenty of machineguns to be of some use in a dogfight. Alternatively, a Fuso cadet recently joining the war, but with high magic potential when she can control it.

Land: Either very veteran Karlsland witch with a prototype Tiger II striker, or a rookie Orussian witch in a T34-85 or a KV-2.

If this does come to pass I'll dig out the Britannian Night Witch I tried to use before.

I'm really starting to like the idea of a mixed team... We could be protecting a convoy or something. Could be interesting.

Okay, so thinking it through, 4 could theoritically be enough. 2 ground witches and 2 air, one night, one ground attack. And I just found my ground attack plane/weapon combo. Its a mean one. Big, heavy and very powerful. The BK 7,5, 75mm air-to-ground auto cannon. Might be too big, though it was carried on a conventional air craft, and could be mounted on a Stukka.

I thought Ju 87s carried the smaller BK 37 cannon for tank-hunting?

There was a single model that carried the BK 7,5. But they were mostly mounted on the Henschel Hs 129 B-3, which will be the base for my Striker unit, if I go with that. Might be too big, as they weighed 1200 kilo.

Okay, my mistake, it was the Ju 88, not the 87, which could carry a BK 7,5.

Yeah, and I think the canon precedent is that only Night Witches used Strikers based on twin-engined aircraft before the Jet Striker came along.

Well, might scale down to a regular JU 87 G then. Though, the idea of having a huge gun just sounds so tempting... I really should go back to my idea of a night witch...

Although that said that might just be because they were using real-life Nightfighter types. So it might be bollocks to say that only NWs used twin-engined Strikers purely because we've never seen anything else.

Well, whatever the case, I think I finaly came to a conclusion about my character. Suomus ground attack witch. Though she can also operate at night, as long as she has a night witch to help her. As for armament, the Lahti L-39 for ground targets, and for night missions, the 39/44 full auto. Its a 20mm anti tank rifle, so it should do some damage. All I really need now is a good Picture...
I also found a good Liberion Night witch, with the Catalina as a base for her striker, though that is a naval plane, so it would be out of place. I just really like her design... Might keep her in reserve for a naval based JFW. Here she is:

I think the Striker in that image is a Hellcat. Larger planes like the Catalina tended to actually exist.

Sorry, I'm nitpicking too much again. >.<

Yeah that's a hellcat. Which, to be fair, was I think one of the first night fighter/attacker aircraft used by the US navy. Also used by the Marines (I think). so I don't see it being totally unlikely.

Sorry, not up to date with my US aircrafts. I made the connection as she was shown with a Catalina in the background in a nother Picture.
