Jinx turns bright red. "Pinky?!" Her fingertips begin to spark bright pink again, but she relaxes and they calm back down. "That sounds great," she says through clenched teeth. "I would love to." She then turns on her heel and storms away, heading toward her quarters. She needed to be alone for a little bit. Just too much stress on her for the first day. She hadn't meant for her powers to go off like that; it just happens. It all ties back in with her name. Jinx. She literally means bad luck. She sighs and opens the door to her quarters and walks in, slamming the door shut behind her.

He nodded curtly
"Yes sir."
He murmurs, before turning and leaving to his room. Per usual, many people shuddered and shivered as he passed.
His room was located between the large furnace rooms, the only area that doesn't start to frost over with time.

Jinx sits down in her room, wringing her hands together. She needed to start coming up with a lesson plan for her classes immediately. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of the students. She pulled out a notepad and a pencil and began to write her lesson plan for the day.

Terry eventually found himself in the cafeteria. He looked around, obtained as much whole milk as he could carry, and went to an empty table near a window. He sat down and sipped the cool beverage as he surveyed the other students. He drummed his fingers on the the table and wondered what this school would be like.

Arianna left the meeting and went to the cafeteria. She would be in her dorm for a majority of the time, at least until it was time for her physical class. She groaned at the thought. Inside the cafeteria she procured a rather large lunch of assorted foods. Just enough to get her through the week without having to return. Her body perfectly processed all of her foods, leaving her fit and balanced and without the desire to over eat. She found a table and sat, eating the mountain of food, mostly carbs, like it was a simple meal.

Jade slowly made her way to the cafeteria. She want in any hurry. She wanted to memorize where everything was. She wanted to make sure that she knew where everything was. She was curious about this school and the other students. She had read a little bit about it but he had wanted to leave most of it to discover on her own. She didn't want other peoples opinions affecting hers.

Jack zoomed through the school, memorizing every last detail he could. Thankfully, the Speedforce increased his already near photographic memory and made it way better. He did his best to get his bearings and made sure to file everything away before heading to the cafeteria.

Jack didn't even blink as he scooped up as much food as possible before he was cut off, sampling absolutely everything before making it back to a table alone and systematically eating it all one by one. It would look ridiculous as he nearly and quickly began to put down his whole body weight in food. Jack would casually pull out a small book from his small pack that would read "Collective History on the Legend of King Arthur", a rather large affair, and begin reading it as he continued to scarf down food.

Violet walks into the cafeteria, looking around. She sees a bunch of people sitting down at tables and she immediately feels awkward. She doesn't do very well with large groups. She is more of a solitary person. She walks up and gets her food. She looks around for a place to sit and notices that a lot of people are sitting in groups. She sighs and looks for a place to sit at alone, but she doesn't see an empty table. She then notices Jack, who is sitting all by himself at a table, reading a book. She doesn't think he will mind if she will sit next to him. She walks over to his table and sits down across from him, at the other end of the table, not saying anything. She then begins to scarf down her food.

Jack would be continuing to eat before he would notice Violet sitting across and distanced from him. He would take a few seconds to wash down his food before speaking. "Hey, Violet! Why don't you move over here a bit, I promise I won't bite anything but the food!" He would say with a smile, motioning to the still huge pile of food that seems to be enough for eight people. "I wouldn't mind the company if you wouldn't."

Violet looks over as he calls her name. She smiles and picks up her tray, walking back over to sit across from him. She still does not say anything, and she begins to scarf down her food once more. She looked up at the handsome speedster and grins at his amount of food. "You pregnant? What's up with all the food?" she asks him, a smile broadening her face.

Jack would swallow again and take a second before replying. "Well, the thing about being a speedster is that your whole life becomes fast and slow. My powers come from the Speedforce and from myself. I move really fast. I age really slowly. I can think, see, and do everything at super speed. But my body is changed too, so my metabolism can kill a normal person. If I don't eat enough, I could become really weak and pass out from exertion." He would explain. "It's one of my few weaknesses I guess. Better than Kryptonite though, right?" He would say with a smile.

Violet smiles and nods. "I know how you feel. It's kind of the same with my power, except without the aging portion of it." She holds her hand out over the table. Where there would normally be a shadow, there isn't. "You see, how my power works is it feeds off shadows. Unfortunately I didn't know this and my power ate up almost all of my shadow." She sighs and sets her hand back down. "Without a shadow, a person dies. That's why all the myths have vampires not having shadows. And if my power eats up the rest of my shadow, I will die as well." She leans back in her chair and pulls out the vial around her neck. "That's why I have this. I collect shadows from people I kill or animals I kill, that way I don't have to feed off my own shadow." She grins. "Sorry, that took kind of a morbid turn..."

Jack would shrug. "Doesn't spoil my appetite!" He would say with a laugh. "That's really cool though. Have you ever tried feeding some of those shadows into your own to make it better? And how did you do that thing with the ring? I've heard that some speedsters can make things, but not like that!" He would be almost babbling too fast before he caught himself. "Sorry, I tend to do that." He would say much slower. "Super speed mouth isn't always good."

She smiles at him before frowning. "I have tried to feed the extra shadows into mine, but it doesn't work. It makes me incredibly ill when I do it sometimes and other times the shadows float away." She pops open the vial and begins manipulating a small piece of shadow between her fingers. "How I made the ring is I intertwined a small piece of my shadow, i.e. the gemstone piece, with a bit of shadow from the vial. When you press the gemstone, it's like tugging on my shadow." She manipulates the small piece of shadow to copy what her hand does, like a real shadow would. She sighs and stares at the shadow longingly.

Jack would notice her stare at the shadow, and he would hesitate before taking her hand. "Hey, I can see that it bothers you, but just remember this, okay?" He would say looking at her meaningfully. "Don't let your powers, or your envy, overshadow you. Poor word choice, I know, but it's true. It might seem like a piece of you is missing, but it's been filled by all of this." He would gesture around. "Just remember that you're not any lesser. And I'll be here to help you out!" Jack would smile, totally forgetting he was holding her hand for a moment.

Violet smiles at his words and stares down at his hand on hers. She blushes and gently slips his hand off. "You seem to be pretty optimistic about this whole academy thing. What if someone doesn't like you? What if you make a mortal enemy here? You can't exactly rely on looks or humor here."

“Which is exactly why you shouldn’t discuss your powers so openly in the cafeteria,” said Terry walking over to the couple while eyeing the large pile of food that was near them. “Potential mortal enemies might be listening and plotting to use your weakness against you. Of course, in all fairness to you, speedy, I’m pretty sure someone published an encyclopedia on speedsters and their powers. So, I guess anyone could look you up, assuming the book was actually published and that it is in the Academy library. Then, it would be a matter of trying to determine how much of the speed force you have access to…” He paused to look up and began to consider this himself.

Terry was probably a strange sight. The jacket and pants he was currently wearing were covered in pockets and resembled a black Nomex flight suit that had been made as two pieces instead of one. While those fit perfectly, the bronze colored t-shirt that he wore underneath was being strained by his considerable musculature. In addition, his dark hair hadn’t been cut in while and the locks reached half-way down his neck. Although, his hair was quite clean, it looked very unkempt. He had stuck to the shadows so far and was pretty sure that no one had noticed him up until this point.

He was about to leave the cafeteria when Terry overheard the conversation. It seemed like the couple were well-meaning but had made a tactical error in discussing their abilities in such a public place. Terry hadn’t completely let his guard down, for this place was still new and he understood very well that things were not always what they seemed. Still, he had decided to approach the two and offer some advice that he knew very well could be overly paranoid. He always figured it was better to be too paranoid than too relaxed and unaware.

Terry also figured now wasn’t a bad time to try to make allies. He knew alliances would be important in the coming weeks and months. He reasoned that it would be wiser to try to find allies after he had more information and knew more or less what everyone else could do but realized he had to start somewhere. So here he was. He sat down across from the pair, took a sip of his milk, and asked “Room for one more?”

Jack was going to answer, before the shady-ish guy interjected in their conversation. He would be smiling as he spoke, knowing full well that he was discussing his supposed weakness outwardly. "Well, unless someone here has a cage that can hold me long enough to starve me while I'm not exerting myself, I don't think it really counts as a weakness." Addressing Violet once more, he would shrug a bit. "If someone here has a problem with me or the way I do things, it's probably because they're too uptight. I don't look for enemies, I just give everyone the chance to be friends. And I don't exactly have enough looks to skate through, nor will everyone think I'm funny. I'm just here to meet people and train away from civilians. And I already made one friend." Jack would smile at Violet. "Besides, I'm full of surprises ready to burst out at Mach 1."

As the guy sat and asked his question, Jack once again shrugged. "It's a big enough table. As long as Violet thinks it is." He would say glancing at her to see if she wanted more company.

Violet shrugs, trying not to act as if she didn't want the guy here, but she is silently glaring at Jack, hoping he gets the message through her glare. She doesn't care for new people and the only reason why she ever talked to Jack was because she thought he was funny and he had been alone. Also, this guy seem like a jerk. "Nobody can really force me to use my powers. All they'd have to do is take away my vial to kill me, and it's always around my neck, so it's doubtful that anyone would take it," she says, addressing the newcomer that has just sat down at their table. She takes another bite out of her food and washes it down with a gulp of water. "I'm Violet Turner, by the way, a.k.a. Shadow."

Jack wouldn't even make any notice towards her glare, but message received. "Although, this is a bit of a private conversation. No offense pal, but maybe we can catch up later? Name's Vector, by the way, Jack if you like." He would say to he newcomer.

Pushing him aside from his thoughts, Jack would smile at Violet again. "Like I said, I'm here for the ride. I don't see myself making too many enemies. But I'm more surprised that I've been able to hold a conversation with you." He would say with a bit of embarrassment. "I tend to get really, really nervous around girls..."
