When it was found to be incompatible with modern science, study of the art was nearly lost, until World War I rolled along. It was then discovered that for some reason or another, magic at its very core was tied inexplicably to bladed weapons of all kinds. The powers and abilities displayed by the magic enhanced cavalry and blades-men opened the eyes of many people. _ _Over three hundred years have passed since then, and study into the 'Magic of Blades' or as the scientific community likes to call it 'Blade Impulse Phenomena' has developed into a worldwide interest, with many people placing a lot of money into its research potential. One fundamental discovery is that it was easier to develop magic during puberty. Because of this, high schools heavily dedicated to teaching teenagers how to use their abilities were founded. One particular academy, set in between the border of England and Scotland,is of special interest to the international community: For it is here that the greatest known Blade Master. I'm not really clear on the magic mechanics. Is the magic in the character or in the weapon, or is it some combination of the two? Basically, is it: - Character picks up a different weapon and the magic they can do changes. - Character picks up a different weapon and the magic they can do is the same and behaves in the same way. - Character picks up a different weapon and the magic stays the same but behaves in a different way? Or - Character picks up a different weapon and just flat out can't use magic with it?

The magic is in the character, however it can only be used effectively when a weapon is in their hands. - A person's ability with magic is determined by the affinity they have with certain spells and their weapon - Weapon affinity is determined by how long a person has been using a specific weapon. Weapons of the same type do not count. - Picking up a different weapon will still allow you to use magic, but in return, your effectiveness with whatever spell you have in mind is cut into 1/7 of its original effectiveness. Man, its been awhile since I've had to explain magic mechanics. Feels pretty good xD Anyway, does that answer your question? If you do decide to join by the way, I can start up the RP, since your pretty much the seventh member already :3
