So since we have Oracle, could she maybe do some programming on TANDEM to help fix them? :3 Or maybe trace a signal back to the baddie controlling them.

![enter image description here](http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/shannonmarie1510/default/florence-welch--large-msg-13477698383.jpg "enter image title here") _"Names have power. You fear mine. I want hers. And at least one of you is going to tell me."_ **Name:** Kate Kane **Alias:** Batwoman **Age:** 25 **Occupation:** trust fund baby **Skills & Abilities** - advance military training - firearms - hand to hand combat - interrogation - stealth **Equipment** - standard bat-gear (glide cape, batarangs, grapple gun, etc.) - Batpod **Personality and History** **Twice Born Daughter: ** Jacob and Gabi Kane had twins, Beth and Kate. Although, Kate would claim she's older albeit only by a few seconds. The two were identical in appearance, even their parents having a hard time telling them apart sometimes. But their personalities couldn't be more different. Beth was sweet and shy, while Kate was intense and hyper. The two always stuck together, inseparable since birth. Kate would often act as Beth's protector, since her meekness made her an easy target for bullies. In fact it seemed like Kate was always getting in a fight for one reason or another. But on their 6th birthday Kate failed to protect her sister. Her family was kidnapped by an unknown organization and held hostage. It is believed terrorists were after her father for military secrets. Kate's mother and sister were killed during the incident. **Dishonorably Discharged: ** When she became of age Kate enlisted in the military like her parents. Unfortunately she never got to serve. She was discharged after it came to light that she had a relationship with another woman. When questioned she didn't deny anything, she refused to lie. She spent the next few months of her life lost in a daze. Her whole life she thought she would enlist and fight for something worth fighting for. Suddenly her clear vision of the future was engulfed in shadows. And it didn't help that her father wasn't so accepting of the situation. It wasn't all bad tho, her "uncles" (her dad's army buddies who helped raise her ever since her mother died) all offered her comfort and acceptance. **Donning the Uniform: ** During her dark days, Kate spent too much time and money on booze and in clubs. But one night in particular she decided to check out a club located in the dirtier side of Gotham, the side she rarely if ever visited. Before she even reached the club she saw someone getting mugged. The loser wannabe criminal with a knife didn't last long against her fashionable boots. She ended up stopping 3 attacks that night. It opened her eyes to the chaos and fear that has razed Gotham. Using her numerous military contacts, notably her "uncles", she spent the next two years traveling abroad and training. When she returned she was ready for war. She took on the symbol of the bat because she saw it as a uniform, to let people know she was one of the good guys. Kate never asked for permission from Batman, and she didn't care if she had it. Getting funds wasn't difficult since the Kane family owned the half of Gotham that the Waynes didn't. **The Batwoman: ** Batwoman is the black sheep of the Bat-family, if you can even consider her a member. She is really only a bat in name and mask. Unlike other Bat-family members Batwoman wasn't inspired by Batman. The uniform was chosen so the cops knew not to shoot her and so the people knew they could trust her. Kate isn't in the loop with the rest of the Bat-family either. She doesn't have access to the cave, she doesn't know any of their identities, she's only met a few of them in person. All her gear and equipment are her own, she's a completely independent agent. Batman and her have an understanding. They're on the same side but try to stay out of each others' way, which can be difficult sometimes considering Batwoman's extreme methods. Kate is a soldier, and sometimes in war lives are lost. Her time spent as Batwoman has been hard and lonely. Being estranged from her father, her only immediate family, hasn't been easy. She had no one to rely on but herself, both in crime fighting and in life. **Story Arc** The war on crime has been wearing Kate down. There's only so much she can do alone. For once in her life she is reconsidering her own stubbornness. Maybe she should be nicer to the Bat-family whose name she stole. And maybe she should set Batwoman aside and work on Kate and all her perfect relationships. She never did call that cute waitress she met the other night. Maybe go back to college perhaps? But little does she know there are people out there more interested in Kate than Batwoman. ![enter image description here](https://36.media.tumblr.com/c19b491b5966c59b270d8ecfdadce048/tumblr_nfpgvhuyzQ1sosdedo6_1280.jpg "enter image title here")

So for the most part I have kept Red Robin the same as far as pre-New 52 cannon goes for his character. From the background I added in the key points of his past interacting with the Batman myth, but for everyone else I am eager to hear their thoughts on how my character will be involved with them. I have every intention of activating Drake's Hit List at some point during this role play which would likely strain his relationship if and or when Damion finds he is on the list. Obviously Red Robin and Steph Brown have a history in the comics, but Ruby and I will have to talk that through as far as what if anything we want to keep. As for Nightwing and the other before robins I have a lot of energy to channel into coming up with a new background for them as far as interactions and what have you if any are interested. Looking forward to stretching my wings so to speak with this role play!

> but for everyone else I am eager to hear their thoughts on how my character will be involved with them. I imagine Batwoman and Red Robin first met when they found each other perching on the same rooftop. Then Batwoman was like "too crowded" and glided off. THE END. Haha, jk. But they probably haven't seen much of each other if at all. Side Note: Changed Batwoman's pic because I wasn't sure if other people can see it.

"I don't kill... but I don't lose, either." ![enter image description here](http://i2.listal.com/image/1909995/600full-malese-jow.jpg "enter image title here") **Casandra Cain-Wayne** **Alias** - Blackbat; the "One Who is All", formerly Batgirl **20yo** Cassandra stands at 5'5" with naturally black hair (though in recent years she's been experimenting with highlights) and brown eyes. She is biracial, half Caucasian and half Chinese. Her body in slender and fit due to constant training and exercise. Cassandra has scars across her back from bullet wounds made by her father during her childhood training. **Occupation** - former Leader of the League of Assassins; former member of [Titans East]; Vigilante --- **Personality** Cassandra never learned to talk, let alone read and write, until she was 15yo. And though since changed, mostly due with the aid of Lucius Fox, Cassie still doesn't speak all that much. Her words are usually short and to the point. Criminals are most likely to receive her foot or fist to the jaw rather than words of warning. Cassandra is a badass and she knows it. She is one of a handful who can say they've defeated Lady Shiva. Batman may be able to defeat her now, but with his advancing age that's bound to change sooner or later. --- **Skills & Abilities** *Peak Human Conditioning:* Through continuous intense training Cassandra represents the greatest fighting weapon ever conceived. She possesses peak level strength, stamina, speed and agility comparable to the finest human athlete. - Cassandra possesses the peak human strength level of a woman her age, size and weight, in addition who engages in intensive regular exercise and combat training. Cassandra is capable of press lifting at least twice her own weight and can lift 230 lbs while running. Her strength makes her capable of swinging uninjured with a grapple. *Martial Arts:* Due to her life long training Cassandra has a master level knowledge of all fighting arts known and unknown and continues to learn with every new opponent she faces. She was trained by her father (David Cain), along with several other members of the League of Assassins, including Bronze Tiger, Merlyn and Alpha. Upon taking the mantle of Batgirl, she was trained further by Batman, Black Canary, and then by Lady Shiva. - *Dragon Style Kung Fu* is a Chinese martial arts form and is one of the many techniques used in the art of Wushu. The movements of the Dragon Style are based on the mythical Chinese dragon. - *Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced):* Cassandra is schooled in all known and many unknown assassin techniques such as pressure points, killing techniques and stealth to name a few. - *The Falling Leaf Technique* is a nerve pinch invented by Chinese monks in the 16th Century. Cassandra and her father are the only two people who know how to use it. *Body Reading Ability:* Cassandra has the advanced ability to read body language enabling her to read what a person is thinking and tell what they are going to do next before they do it. She has been shown able to read opponents far faster than herself, along with non humans and even alien lifeforms once she is given a chance to learn their body language. This enables her to identify disguised and transformed people as well. *Investigation:* Not on the level of other Bat Family members, Cassandra has had some training *Stealth: Due to her excessive training she is also a master of stealth. **Weakness** *Dyslexia:* Cassandra has extreme dyslexia, making it very difficult for her to read. --- **Equipment** - Blackbat's costume is a modified version of her leather Batgirl outfit (see pic below). She now wears a domino mask and exposes the rest of her face and head. Her cape is now severely torn, looking ragged and almost smoke-like. Her hands are wrapped in bandages rather than her former scalloped bat-gloves. - Like the other members of the Bat-Clan, Cassandra also wears a yellow-pouched utility belt which contains grappling hooks, batarangs, mini-explosives, tracking devices, a hand-held computer, binoculars, PlastiCuffs, and smoke pellets. However, Cassandra rarely uses any of these devices. - On occasion, Cassandra equips herself with a katana sword for those more extreme missions. - Batcycle --- **History** Cassandra Cain was born on the snowing night of January 26, 1994 in Tibet. For six years from the time she was 8yo Cassandra somehow survived on her own on the streets of the United States. When she was 15yo Cassandra stumbled into Gotham City. In February of 2009, while looking for shelter within an alley, Cassandra happened upon a mugging. The young girl dispatched the three thugs with ease saving a young couple from a brutal beating. A couple weeks later, she would find herself in a similar situation. Both time Batman had watched from a nearby rooftop. Eventually the Dark Knight would invite her to join him on his crusade for justice. Batman would soon learn Cassandra's origin when her father transmitted a video of the then 8 year old girl killing a businessman. Nevertheless, Batman continued to accept Cassandra after she takes several bullets to save the life of a hired assassin, proving her devotion to protecting human life. Cassandra Cain was conceived in a *business deal* between David Cain and Sandra Wu-San. David's goal was to create the ultimate weapon and perfect bodyguard for his master, Ra's al Ghul. Sandra agreed to Cain's bargain in order that she might go on to become the unstoppable force of nature known as Lady Shiva: creator and destroyer. Shiva's hope for her child was that she might one day grow to be the one force that could stop her reign of destruction. Trained by her father to be the ultimate weapon, Cassandra was not taught to speak. Instead, the parts of her brain normally used for speech were trained so she could read other people's movements and body language and predict, with uncanny accuracy, their next move. This also caused her brain to develop learning functions different from most, a form of dyslexia that hampers her ability to read and write. When she was 8 years old, Cain decided his experiment had progressed far enough for him to test Cassandra's abilities in the real world, and took her to a hit; the target being Faizul, a 'book man' in Macau. At the time Cassandra had no idea what she was doing and believed it was only a game (an interpretation in keeping with her own reaction to what happened, and matching the interpretation of Alfred Pennyworth, an expert on children who saw a tape of events). After striking a deathblow, she "read" the target as he died, and saw death as he saw it. In addition to scarring her emotionally, she realized murder, like her father's profession, was wrong, and she ran away from her father. Despite her notable handicap of being unable to talk, read or write Cassandra did remarkably well. Capable of understanding others' intentions due to her ability to read body language she was a more than capable listener, even if she couldn't reply. It was this trait that made her one of the Batman's most loyal and trusted followers. From going undercover in Madras with Batman to saving local heroes from the mob, Cassandra continued to impress as the new Batgirl. Especially when, despite Batman's warnings, she went face to face with a meta-human and won. She even managed to, despite her restriction to Gotham City, make it on the reserve member list of Young Justice. Cassandra's first kiss was with Conner Kent/Superboy, and they even went on one date... just one date. Time would pass and a rift would form between Cassandra, Batman, and the extended Bat Family. She would finally discover who Batman really was, billionaire Bruce Wayne. Cassandra had never asked who he was under the mask, but once she found out it somehow changed things for her. Then, Cassandra was abducted and injected with a mind-altering serum by Deathstroke and her father which made her leave Gotham. She joined Deathstroke's [Titans East] and fought against Young Justice, and then took her (rightful?) place as head of the League of Assassins. She would eventually be rescued and injected with a counter-serum. And then, there was Batman's on again off again relationship with Catwoman. Cassandra just couldn't understand why her mentor would lower his guard and fall for the likes of Selina Kyle. Disillusioned, Cassandra turned in her Batgirl uniform and left Gotham. In time her relationship with the Caped Crusader and the others would be healed, at least somewhat. Bruce Wayne was her adopted father and she had too much respect for him to totally cut ties with him. And, to much loyalty. Cassandra makes Hong Kong her home and base of operations. Under the guise of the Blackbat, she represents the Dark Knight and continues the fight for justice. --- ![enter image description here](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4c/CassandraBlackbat.jpg "enter image title here") --- **Story Arc** I like other player's ideas of the Court of Owls, No Man's Land, and the League of Assassins. I wouldn't mind doing something involving the Justice League. I don't know exactly what yet...

I still need to give Cassandra an occupation of some kind, but other than that I believe I'm finished with the CS. Should we all iron out our character's relationship with one another's before the game starts?

Blackbat looks great. Only small issue I have is the fact you mention Alfred being the one that helped her. In this timeline, Alfred has been dead for years. In his place would be Lucius Fox. Other than that, she's accepted. I'll put up an OOC tonight after work but I agree with Spidey that we should try an iron out character relationships first or at least get an idea of the directions we want to go with them.

> we should try an iron out character relationships first or at least get an idea of the directions we want to go with them. Batwoman's story is gonna be about building/repairing relationships. At the start she won't know anyone's secret identity, and she probably never teamed up with any of them (Ruby and I are brainstorming about a friendship between Batwoman and Batgirl, so that might be an exception). Its very possible she's met other characters in their civilian identities tho, since the Kane family and the Wayne family tend to run in the same social circles; and Kate is much more sociable than Batwoman.

Hello all. I noticed back on page 1 there was some interest in Jason Todd from Archangel, though he hasn't popped in since then. If the opportunity arises, it'd be a shame to have such a promising Batfamily RP without the residual almost-as-broody-as-Bruce quasi-zombie around. Who knows, maybe with the threat of competition archangel will come out of hiding. If I'm overstepping my lurker boundaries, I apologize and shall return to lurking posthaste.

Oracle's relationships are probably a bit strained and distant. It's not unlikely that most if not all of her fellow Bats may have received assistance from The Oracle, but she's been keeping her cards very close to her vest and not disclosing her identity as the Oracle to anyone. The only reason Batman knows is because he got her into this, although I imagine Tim Drake could probably piece it together. This deception has probably not done her relationship with Dick any favors either. Outside of the Oracle persona she's sort of lost her social appetites, becoming something of a recluse, so a minor plot thread could be breaking Barbara out of her rut.
