I made the slight change, but it's mostly the same thing. Let me know when this is accepted. Edit: If anyone could point out why the tags aren't working I'd appreciate it. [quote] [center]The Vanguard[/center] --- Name: Kaedan Age: 19 Appearance: [img] http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/317/4/f/sword_guy_by_lasahido-d6u6fme.jpg[/img] Kaedan’s body is a product of what the human will can achieve. Every bit of him is developed in muscle, he is a walking embodiment of strength. He was already blessed with a towering figure, and even with such height was able to sculpt a heavyset body, with every inch hardened flesh. Without his armour, Kaedan seems as though he has stepped out of a painting, or broken free from the casting of a titanic statue. With his armor he looks even larger, but most of his impressive body is hidden away within the metal surface. The armour that Kaedan wears is thick, heavy, and simple. As a newly graduated neophyte (and now consequentially an initiate), Kaedan does not have access to the lavishly decorated and blessed sets of armour housed by his creed. Instead, what he wears is designed with only function in mind, and as such, looks dull and unimpressive from an artistic viewpoint. It covers all of his vital points with thick plated metal, and gives him a necessary amount of freedom of movement. He carries a one-handed battle hammer and a large tower shield, neither of which are particularly outstanding. On his back is a worn grey cloak, with tattered edges, as it was passed down from a superior. Most of Kaedan’s supplies are kept in an old leather satchel, which is tied around the back of his waist. His only personal belonging of value is a thick tome that hangs from the side of his hip. The tome is of a deep red colour, signifying Deliph. It’s thousand pages are of a stained yellow, and its cover has a few scratches. This is Deliph’s Book of the Soldier, which Kaedan has already memorized from his training as a neophyte. It is one of the many holy books which the followers of Deliph derive their knowledge from, and just like the others, it is a heavy tome. His skin is tanned, like the colour of sand or dirt, and his eyes are a faded gray-blue. Kaedan’s golden hair is usually messy and unkept, and he supports the beginnings of a beard around his face. Biography:
Kaedan is an initiate within the Brotherhood of the Cardinal; one of the many religious creeds dedicated to Deliph. This sect has only a few remaining monasteries scattered around the known world. Although their numbers are small, the Red Brothers, as they are sometimes called, have high ambitions and heavy expectations of those who wish to be in their ranks. One who comes across their monasteries will note the unusual number of boulders found within the yards of their churches. From a very early age, children accepted into the monastery are trained to achieve strength far beyond their years. They exercise in many ways, most notably in pushing or lifting the large boulders commonly found around the monasteries. Weakness of the body is punished abruptly, but second chances are always given. The children are also expected to memorize heavy volumes of text, most of which is dedicated to Deliph’s wisdom, or historical excerpts from wars past. Weakness of the mind is also punished if a student fails to recite chapters accordingly. But just as with the body, there are always second chances given. With the heart, however, there is no room for error. The slightest misjudgement is enough to be met with death. For the Brotherhood of the Cardinal, purity of the mind and soul are just as important as strength of the body. They achieve this in their pupils through rigorous indoctrination, and every member of the church, from the newest members to the most sacred elders, take part in meditative trances daily. Due to his physique and lifelong training, Kaedan can carry all of his gear for long periods of time. But during combat, the impact of his gear is definitely noticeable. His armour slows him down and restricts his movement. This limits the amount of fighting styles that Kaedan can employ. Many of Kaedan’s brothers from his sect are trained to value strength over speed, which makes them apt in the roles of fighting in the front-lines to protect others. Like his brothers, Kaedan can call upon the divine favor of Deliph to add divine weight to his hammer. The toughest challenge for initiates to overcome is the pilgrimage. When a neophyte is ready to become an initiate, he must prepare to leave the monastery in search of strife and conflict. The Brotherhood of the Cardinal believes that only by fighting for good can the follower find Deliph. When a neophyte is found to be ready, his masters will tell him to make his preparations before allowing him to leave. Most students begin their pilgrimage at the age of 17, but Kaedan has only been granted leave for his journey at the age of 19. He does not know why his calling was delayed as such.

Kaedan is just as devout as one would expect, and he spends most of his free time meditating or re-reading his holy tome, as any follower should. But unlike others of his kin, who are known for being harshly judgemental when it comes to moral actions, Kaedan is more willing to let things slide and let others be. The Red Brothers in particular have a vicious reputation for showing no mercy to those who have wronged, even to the point of savagery. Kaedan feels he does not share the same contempt for evil as his brothers, and for this he has been scolded and estranged by his masters and peers alike. As an orphan, he was found and raised by the Brotherhood of the Cardinal. There is very little he knows of the world outside the monastery walls. His monastery was from the deserts to the south-east, which explains the tan of his skin. Kaedan finds the absence of sand finding its way into everything he owns to be comforting, but is still having trouble adapting to colder winds. [/quote]

The tags aren't working because BBCode hasn't been implemented yet. They claim it will be done soon; until then, we wait and endure Markdown's shenanigans. As for the CS, looks fine to me. Did you intend to bring him in in Zerul City (where some characters are already waiting)? Porting over from last page, lest those go unnoticed: **Edit:** Oh, hey, someone found a way how to make single line breaks with this silly thing until we get a more functional editor: > EDIT: with a bit of googling, it turns out that you can use single line breaks by adding two spaces to the end of the line, then moving to the new line. > Example: New line! **Edit#2 @Ashgan:** I am technically working today, but on one of my breaks I decided to run up some of the posts into the Compendium Archives - is this an adequate enough summary of Jillian's adventures before the continuation of the RP on the new forum: [Link.](http://theprophecy.nefaerious.com/forumarchieve.php?name=Jillian%27s%20Trails&page=1) ((Are you good with me reformatting your paragraphs a bit? Looks a bit better if everything follows the same visual style.))

It's fine Shien; concise and to the point. I would only, perhaps, change the word "departed" to "escaped" in reference to her leaving Zerul City. She was outlawed and killed the enforcers who came to take her into custody, making her an illegal magician _and _a murderer; she was lucky to leave the city alive in the first place. You can also reformat the posts all you like, sure.

Truly? Could it really be possible? Single line breaks? I'm so happy! (Even if the method by which they are made is still somewhat awkward, but I suppose it's not worse than the // I'm used to from university-work.) I have no problems with your character either, Veridis; I'll add it to the list in the OP shortly. But to reiterate Shien's question, how do you intend to introduce Kaedan to the group, and is it still your intention to have him join up with Aemoten's group (the one in Zerul)? EDIT: _facepalm_ Except I can't edit posts made before this new system, so I can't change the OP. Yay... I swear there was one more thing I was supposed to comment on... Oh right; then I guess I'm next in the collab. I'll get a post together when I can.

Do you actually intend to timeskip right away, or do you intend to make at least one more post on the spot? I am actually halfway inclined to make a continuation post for Aemoten, and if you intend to timeskip, I'd rather do it now. Chances are I'm not receiving a reply to that, either (though Iäd certainly like one), but eh... If for no other reason, then for the sake of not making one hypermassive post afterwards. How do you imagine the people'd be brought together after the timeskip, by the way? I'm tempted to suggest not letting them meet right away, but just putting them in the same inn and have them meet in the morning or something... And will still have to talk to the people of the other collab (since they have to be picked up at some point before or after Zerul City, too) and make a post there. Rhaevnn, are you around?

My apologies for my absence - I have been working on a post, but haven't been able to fully write it until today (Between the holidays and moving back to college, I was a bit pressed for time ^^;) However, that being said, it is very close to being finished, but I do have a couple questions that'll help finish it: 1) In relations to the Seclyrian Army and sniffers - would it be common for sniffers to be treated less than human (such as a dog or pet or whatever)? 2) Does the Seclyrian Army have any special battalions/squads/etc.? And if so, is there one that I could have made Morgan a part of? This, of course, is assuming that there are special units within a battalion that require one sniffer (if not multiple sniffers) and aren't paired to a small group to hunt magic users. Also, I'm planning on altering Morgan's CS slightly, at least in the clothing section. When reading through the Compendium, I saw that those who usually follow The Wanderer tend to stick to the darker clothing color scheme. Since Morgan has more earthy colors, I figured I should correct myself and stick to the lore, especially since Morgan *is* rather dedicated to Death. ;) But yes - post incoming either tomorrow or Monday (preferably sooner than later).

I did intend to make at least one more post before the actual timeskip, yes, and my idea was that Aemoten's group would just arrive and take care of their own immediate business for the time being, and - since people seem to prefer that idea - postpone the meeting of that and I'on's group until the next morning. There are some things that Aemoten's group will have to deal with, though (like the poor rune mage that has been standing by the gate all day waiting for them), before they can retire for the day and get some well-deserved rest. EDIT: And Rhaevnn posted just before me. Concerning the treatment of Seclyrian sniffers, that usually depends on the circumstances of the sniffer's recruitment; a sniffer that was forcibly made one because its affinity for magic was discovered and not willingly surrendered would indeed be treated more akin to a prisoner than an ally, whereas someone who voluntarily submitted to being made a sniffer would be treated more like a comrade. If one isn't immediately aware of how one came to be a sniffer, however, Seclyrians are more likely than not to simply ignore one such and treat them as little more than part of the furnishing. Sniffers are also usually accompanied by a small group of soldiers in Seclyr, yes (actual soldiers, too, not just guardsmen) who act as the muscle once the sniffer detects a magical anomaly nearby. Sniffers are usually used in special anti-magic patrols and are deployed one per each of these squads, and they practically never get an opportunity to meet one another except when they are off-duty.

If you're not going to timeskip immediately, then you're good to go from my part. Do you wish for éireannach change summary? Legion has developed them a bit more since they were first posted. The Wanderer's followers tend to prefer gray garmets by my recollection (and gray is rather ambiguous tone). Wouldn't Morgan being part of some organization interfere with him going along (unless he was sent along with the group)? What organizations besides the deo'iel would accept a vampire into their ranks? Edit: Seclyrian sniffers in Zerul?

What organizations besides the deo'iel would accept a vampire into their ranks? Well, you have to remember Morgan didn't become a vampire until after he abandoned the Seclyrian Army. Also, he wouldn't be a part of an official group due to his hatred for Honored Ones and followers of any other god than The Wanderer. At least in his opinion, he would feel as if he were dishonoring his deity if he weren't wearing something along the lines of the typical garb worn by Death's followers. This again is a bit odd, since he has such a hatred for those who worship deities, but you know. Hyprocrisy and all that. **EDIT** > And Rhaevnn posted just before me. I'm reading the IC right now, but in case I don't finish it before you guy timeskip, can I get a summary on what is going on? I need to know how to work my character in the best way. Edit: How likely is it for most people to know of the withering? Is its existence a common thing to know in these lands?

@Veridis Quo: Which branches of the story do you wish a summary of? I assume the happenings in Zerul? The withering's *existence* is very well known because a sufficient amount of people have died from it already. It is, however, not known what exactly it is, how it spreads, or where does/did it come from.

Yeah I'd like to know what's happening in Zerul. Right now I'm reading the part with Crane, Gerald, and Jilian at the swamp, though.

I was wondering, but it's no worries, Shein. Though it would be funny/interesting to see which group would even accept a vampire sniffer. :P @DJ I went back to edit Morgan's CS, but due to the board's coding change, I couldn't edit an old post... Would you mind if I reposted Morgan's CS, or would you prefer I didn't?

@Rhae and Jack: They claimed they will made BBCode available again soon, and editing old posts would be enabled then once more. Edit#1: That ... is not going to end well. (Referring at the post.) Edit#2 @Veridis Quo: I will compile you a short summary afterwards ... well, either I or Jack, I'd figure, depending on which of us feels up to it first. Will probably also have to give a brief summary of what happened before the IC you can see.

> Do you wish for éireannach change summary? Legion has developed them a bit more since they were first posted. Oh yeah, if it isn't too much trouble I'm all about more information. > How likely is it for most people to know of the withering? Is its existence a common thing to know in these lands? Practically _everyone_ in at the very least northern Kirirak - including the western lands past the Yawning Gorge, the Savage Fields and beyond - know about the Withering; it is a plague that is affecting huge parts of the world both in the lives it takes and the political instabilities it causes, after all, and even though most of its victims are in Rodoria and its surrounding countries, the plague can be contracted anywhere, at any time. It has killed millions and is described as a disaster of cataclysmic proportions by many. Beside of that the things Shien mentioned aren't known, obviously, but its existence and symptoms would be known to just about everyone. > I went back to edit Morgan's CS, but due to the board's coding change, I couldn't edit an old post... Would you mind if I reposted Morgan's CS, or would you prefer I didn't? Don't you think it would be easier for you not to have to recode the entire CS after this new horrid system? I'd say it would probably be better if you waited. > Edit#1: That ... is not going to end well. (Referring at the post.) Yeah... I agree. Unless I'on or Ixion stops Morgan, that's a pretty horrible can of worms about to be opened right there. Although I guess chances are that at least I'on will just turn against Morgan altogether rather than join him in the ranks of the mercilessly hunted. On a completely unrelated note, some of you may recall that I once found musical themes for some of the characters in The Prophecy? (I recall finding ones for Jaelnec (I even think I changed the one assigned to him), Kreshtaat, the Grand Master, Samuel Self-Namer and someone you don't know about yet.) Anyway, I think I've [found one that I think fits Gerald pretty well.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctSQwwZpfv8)

Hello, everyone. I would just like to apologize for my abrupt departure. It seems I am able to return to this RP after putting aside my pride and stubbornness so that I may come back here and apologize to all of you as well as finding new motivation to write in a fantasy setting. I have already discussed coming back with Jack, and he has agreed after I promised to not abandon the RP so abruptly again. I do not know if I will be sliding back into playing Salas or a different character as of yet.
