Yay, thanks, guys! I'm glad you like it!
Iron is one of the essential elements that our body needs for survival!

Oh, wow, I hadn't thought of that.

^^ Anyways, my next post is about to be done. I'm leaving it open- anyone can say that my fleet came across them or something. Whoever that says it, though, will be in for future trouble- Draconian expansion is quick, and you'll be close enough to be on the edge of their territory very quickly

I take it we're quite done with the Tradehouse at this point? I was waiting on everyone to get their last posts in, before I made my "yeah, that shit's fucked" post.

Yep. I even dropped it out of hyperspace and plopped it in front of Fleet Solution. And everyone who was there, feel free to have picked up some Fay. Alternately, be prepared to have Fay hiding on your ships, causing mischief until they get to a world they can get back on the Fairy Path from.

Roger. I'll try to think up something to post about. My creativity has been a bit on the drained side, lately.

I'd just say that there simply isn't enough iron to be problem. After all, we're talking molecular size here. Lasis, being raised in a society that up until now thought that fat was unique to non-sentient species, wouldn't have the slightest idea as to how much iron is actually harmful. She's just overly concerned because getting an alien killed would look extremely bad. But it would be really nice to see something interesting done with it, that's just the simplest way out. Not using hemoglobin seems like the most interesting to me, but it really doesn't have a major impact beyond forcing Penelope to eat specialized food without iron, which would likely take the form of the Abh equivalent of rock candy because I just have to make references to obscure events in the distant past of this roleplay. For everyone that doesn't know, that being everyone, the Terran colonies were saved from starving by a primitive species that had managed to grow brittle crystals to produce certain nutrients (No, this definitely couldn't happen, but it's sci-fi so I can do it). These crystals grew extremely fast in every environment, and soon the entirety of humanity was subsisting on flavored water where the flavor packet contained ludicrous amounts of nutrients. The Abh just happen to eat these brittle crystals whole as a candy, because if it even gets brought up, it would be funnier to have Penelope eating a bunch of candy for all her meals instead of nutrient paste. (As a side note, am I right to assume that this: "Long trails of it appeared momentarily in real space, lighting up the void with faint translucent rainbows, like a soap bubble." Means that the event is highly visible to the galaxy? Considering how large the Path would appear in realspace, I guessed it would , but I want to confirm that before having the Abh decide it's a sign from the gods or anything.)

I think only the area in and around Finnegan's fell out so it wouldn't be a galaxy wide phenomenon I think.

I'd say it's not galaxy-wide, but it's also not localized. In other words, if you want to see it because you think it'd be interesting, then see it. If you don't think it'd be interesting, don't see it. It's a delicate balance between keeping the Fairy Path the galaxy's most mythical "secret" and having enough interaction to RP with people. After all, the whole point of hyperspace is that it has handy tunnels through realspace that can act as shortcuts. So it seems reasonable that you'd get the glow in other parts of the galaxy nowhere near Finnegan's.

I'm almost tempted to beat the hell out of that fleet in a cheap manner. Almost. I'll let someone else deal with your fleet this time.

But then I'd be forced to either: A) Flee via hyperspace B) Land and fortify the nearest moon/planet C) Go shotgun with sublight antimatter missiles. Getting too close will be deadly, as there are a great many drones and missiles.

Not really in the mood to drag C'ran into a war at the moment. That will come later.

> Antimatter sublight missiles Any type of antimatter weapons for a "weak" navy is pretty powerful, hell its powerful for a strong navy. Nor were they mentioned in your app. Oh and any ground units with antimatter or smaller then a frigate better be damn rare.

It was actually my fleet that used the gravity bombs right before fleeing the Roman system. Though if you are simply doing that for IC RP then carry on.

A weak navy that any other people can blow up. Much less armor, much less armaments. And it has been obvious that the Draconians use antimatter weaponry- go read Finnegan's Tradehouse. It's a little obvious from the cargoship blowing up and tearing a hole in the Fairy Path. If you wanted to object, you might have wanted to do so after it'd been integrated into the roleplay. Sorry that I hadn't mentioned it, though, truly. Antimatter sublight missiles are expensive- they can only be produced in the coreworlds, and the Forerunners use them as brownie points or trade items with Draconian warlords- the richer the Warlord, with more influence and system powers, the more he can trade with the Forerunners to get antimatter missiles. The cargoships have them, and the droneships have them- the droneships are easy enough to kill that a single swipe from someone else's lasers would destroy their shield, a second, the ship itself. And droneships use their drones as shields or weapons- when they're attacking you with drones, they won't fire sublight missiles. Likewise, they only have so many, and pretty much everyone's fleets number more than a Draconian fleet for a simple reason- they are not trying to kill each other. The primary use of such large amounts of antimatter missiles on cargoships is for planetary defense. When they touch down, they're used as ICBMs if needed, but primarily to be launched as conventional warheads into space, where they then activate sublight once they're out of the atmosphere, and blow an enemy target up. The only reason why a Draconian ship can take so many antimatter missiles is because they're partially engineered to counter them. Another ship from a different alien race may not be as efficient in stopping antimatter missiles, but would find that they would last longer anyways because of better shields/armor. Or, if one specialized in FTL communications, sensors, and point-defense, they would be able to remove most of the threat entirely. A cargoship lands -> it turns into the capital of that world. All the antimatter missiles on-board are distributed across the planet, meaning that most places would only have two or three missiles in a fully developed world. If this is still unsatisfactory, I can make them even rarer- only used by Forerunners, for example- or have them as only concept and experimental for the Draconians. I'd replace them with sublight nuclear missiles instead- well within the technological range of warring savages.

I'm communicating with Durandal now, hopefully he can help me balance my race, otherwise, I'll have to use another one. I'll edit the NS once we finalize the balance.

You forget that both you and I happen to have ships that carry giant swarms of antimatter missiles. If we were going with full scientific realism, then one of your missile frigates could destroy a planet's crust.

Since when are we full scientific? MWG has had MAGICAL PONIES MAN MAGICAL FLYING SPACE UNICORNS And I've just been reading books by this one guy, and every one of them have antimatter missiles as one of the primary weapons. Got me hooked, bro
