Escort Ships HSR2 - Neloth Class Escort Cruiser - Captain Marcus Alison Ship Details/History An anomaly to the Royal Navy Fleet, due to being the only class to be able to house non-military people. The ship can house up to 100,000 human and non-human citizens alike. The ship replaced it's heavy weapon systems from the point defenses, suited to be able to take out enemy strikecraft swarms, frigates, destroyers, and missiles. And the light armor got replace by heavily armored, which decreased the ship's speed. The ship has a council, where the group of ten meet to talk about the peoples' needs, the state of the ship, and many other issues talked about in the meetings. The group is mostly made up of humans; but, only two non-humans are allow in the council. It's a democratically-elected council, where the heads are voted into the spot in the council. The captain is always the second head of the council until he dies and gets replace by another one. Most of their laws and customs revolve around this goal. It is illegal for couples to have more than one child, so that the ship can maintain zero population growth (if the population begins to shrink, this rule is temporarily lifted, and incentives may be provided to encourage multiple births). Families are thus very small and close-knit. Because the people depend on his or her crewmates to survive, they are much more community-minded. Loyalty, trust, and cooperation are highly prized qualities.

WIP Name: Vres, Morl (lesser chieftain) and Void Raider (privateer) of the Anansi Federation. The Anansi Federation is a tribal pseudo-nation that resides outside the jurisdiction of the Kingdom. Race: Azu, which are bipedal feline Augmentations: N/A Rank: Muruku Secondary (Squadron Leader) Alias: N/A
Personality: Conservative, cold and a tad bit touched in the head from what a lifetime of warfare has shown her. Maintains a taboo (and understandably covert) relationship with her warship's artificial intelligence for her own emotional comfort. Personal History:
Ship Name:Apedemak, Last of the Greats Ship Type: Arsenal-class Gun-Runner (HSR3 'Artillery Ship') Semi-Sentience Profile: Aggressive and murderous though prideful and vengeful. Regards the three escort spacecraft charged with his protection as valuable allies, but does not like Aker's handler, Captain Melrek, at all. Vres has attempted to appeal to the warship's mode of thinking on multiple attempts, but Apedemak's hate for Melrek has no discernible justification whatsoever.
Ship Details/History:
-Apedemak's War Totem From her own experiences with war, Vres has come to praise the wizened yet proven missile and the primordial but mature artillery cannon for their mutual reliability, raw potential for destruction and their impressive effectiveness against both voidships and planetary targets, but she is not overly fond of strike craft or DEWs. Ergo, Vres has had Apedemak stripped of his hanger bays and phased x-ray laser arrays, with both original installments being surrogated by a generous selection of supplementary launch cells loaded with high-yield thermonuclear missiles, orthodox close-in weapon emplacements and a network of super-heavy fission-pulse gun batteries. Apedemak's hull is divided into thirty independent fighting compartments cumulatively refereed to as Apedemak's Teeth. Each Tooth possesses its own dedicated crew complement, shield projector, fission-fusion hybrid reactor, auxiliary power systems, armaments, gun targeting computers, life support systems, crew accommodations, and other necessary facilities and apparatuses commonly ascribed to a basic martial space vessel; four of the compartments fully encompass Apedemak's CIC module, gifting Vres, the warship's intelligence node and the CIC's command staff with additional protection from enemy attacks. Forward thrust is delivered by a clutch of exceedingly potent atomic detonation torch drives that can be re-purposed into a dauntingly powerful (but very short-ranged) directed-energy weapon if dire combat circumstances arise. Apedemak's engines bless him with an unusually-high measure of tempo for such a substantial beast of metal and circuits, though his weight and weedy reaction control systems limit his maneuverability by a sizable margin. -Complement: 2,500, 250 of which are warrior detail. Much of the ship's crew consists of damage control engineers, medical technicians and Teeth Masters (officers). Warrior detail is not the primary solution to boarders; this crucial role falls to Apedemak himself. -Length: 5.1 kilometers

Name: Leidolf Lutzen. Race: Larestan. Larestans are artificial abhumans with a resemblance to Terran canines, such as wolves and dogs. Augmentics: In addition to the standard array of officer cybernetics, Captain Lutzen has an implant visually reminiscent of an eyepatch which occupies the space of his right eye. This actually allows him to see and alternate through the cameras outfitted to his vessel, giving him excellent situational awareness. It is outfitted with an emergency system somewhat akin to a surge protector that dims or cuts the feed if it receives input that could be harmful, such as staring directly into a star or other such intensely bright visuals. Rank: Captain. Alias: TBA Physical Description: A somewhat tall lupine-like individual with a black pelt and yellow eyes. He wears a Royal Navy officer coat as well as a peaked cap bearing the insignia of the service. Though it is against regulations under normal circumstances, he has achieved a concession allowing him to wear some of his medals from his old service, the Kaiserliche Weltraum Marine, alongside those issued by the Royal Navy. Personality: Captain Lutzen prefers inelegant, straightforward solutions to problems. He is particularly fond of head on attacks, and is prone to impatience when it comes to carrying out more sophisticated maneuvers. “No captain can do wrong if he puts his ship alongside the nearest enemy” is a quotation close to his heart. As a result, his poor vessel is very frequently subjected to repairs. He is abundantly energetic, impulsive and somewhat eccentric. It is this slight mental instability that fuels what the more generous term his “bravery.” He also at times has a rather tenuous grasp of the Kingdom's lingua franca, and is prone to mistakes. Lutzen is also somewhat vain. His hotheadedness sometimes is exhibited off the battlefield as well. His ocular cybernetic is in fact a consequence of one of his many duels he participated in during naval academy. "At least I came second," he reassures himself.
IC Sample: TBA Ship Name: Lohengrin Ship Type: Kaiser Larrstein I-class Linienschiff. Semi-Sentience Profile: It is actually a replication based the superficials of Captain Lutzen's own personality, as befitting his zest for vanity. It ultimately comes off as a cartoonish adaptation of the man, however. Being a semi-sentience, it is by no means a thorough or even accurate copy, lacking his intellect, knowledge, and so forth, but Captain Lutzen makes for one hell of a Yes Man when it comes to Captain Lutzen's needs. ("Talking to yourself is often the only way to get the answers you're looking for, after all!") Escort Ships:
Ship Details/History: The Lohengrin is the second of the five Kaiser Larrstein I-class battlecruisers Imperial Hundestaat constructed before its defeat and incorporation into the Kingdom. Though they were referred to as Linienschiff ("battleships") in the Hundestaat Kaiserliche Weltraum Marine, this was more for propaganda. Kaiser Larrstein I-class ships are actually a Hundestaat adaptation of the Arcturian Fisher-class battlecruiser, a ship that straddles the line between HRS3 and HRS4 (though is often considered HRS3 for convenience.) The Fisher-class were intended to be close-quarters brawlers and have most of their armament situated in broadside mounts. A balance of suitable protection and speed was aimed for in order to help it close in on the enemy and outlast them. Similar to the Dratha-class, which is in some respects its big brother, the Fisher-class has next to no hangar capacity. The Kaiser Larrstein I-class variation actually does away with hangars entirely, aside from a small launch for reconnaissance craft, as well as other utility vehicles. The Larestans never particularly warmed up to the idea of carriers and strikecraft. While they had both, they generally preferred outfitting ships with heavier cannonries. Beneath its three decks of broadside batteries are port and starboard facing torpedo tubes, as opposed to the more commonly encountered forward facing ones. Additionally, it has several center-line mounted turrets for medium range combat, but these are primarily for pursuits and to soften shielding as the Lohengrin closes in to bring its heavier broadside guns to bear. - Complement: 5,000 crew. While Hundestaatian AI is not as advanced as some other examples encountered in the galaxy, it does allow for a higher degree of automation than their Royal Navy's counterparts. - primary weapons/fleet function: The Lohengrin is outfitted with an incredible amount of cannons arrayed along its sides. In fact, the original Fisher-class had only two gun decks. The Kaiser Larrestein I-class added a whole new deck on top of the original two. The lower two decks carry the heaviest armaments, and the top deck houses an array of smaller, more rapidly firing guns. All guns can traverse, elevate and depress, albeit to a limited degree. The Lohengrin was intended for fighting on the most immediate front-line. It is outfitted with strafing thrusters to help it adjust distance when lining up to unleash its characteristic devastating broadsides. The bridge is built on top of a unique turret-like mounting, allowing it to traverse about 180 degrees. - Muhreens: No assault shuttles to speak of, and no marines, but the ship does have a contingent of Navy Troopers to thwart boarding attempts and for general security purposes. - "Strike"craft: A small detachment of 5 Palantir Unmanned Reconnaissance Drones, as well as a host of utilitarian vehicles, most of which intended to perform minor battlefield repairs.

Name: Gillam Belasko Race: Human Augmentics: In addition to the neural interface hardware attached to the base of the neck, Captain Belasko has received surgically-implanted synthetic eyes tethered directly to the optic chiasma. These pearly bulbs of iridescent crystal replaced his true eyes after he was rendered irreparably blind upon directly witnessing a nuclear blast during battle. Rank: Captain Physical Description: Captain Belasko is an man of caucasian descent. Though he is in his late thirties, he appears ten to fifteen years older. Shallow crows feet radiate outward from the corner of his lips and eyes. While he has a thick head of hair cut short to the regulation 4 centimeters, the color has begun to drain from his head at an early age with grayed hairs intermixed with the brown. His iridescent synthetic eyes rarely blink for lack of need. His gaze is stoic and very seldom does it betray any sense of attitude or emotion. Personal History: Gillam Belasko was born on Adriatus in the Vos System to peasant parents. His childhood was fairly unremarkable and he feared his entire life would be wasted in ignominy. In his late teenage years, Gillam left his home and parents to enlist in the Naval Academy in a final bid to accomplish something more substantial with his life. Though he had only received a standard education, Gillam made it through the rigorous entry exams by means of diligent and exhaustive study. During his training at the Academy, the Empire enjoyed a period of peace. There was, therefore, no pressing need to generate new officers and so enrollment in the Academy was very competitive. In order to keep pace with the more thoroughly-educated cadets - often the sons of nobles - Gillam found it necessary to work twice as hard most of his peers to keep from washing out. Even in the face of stiff competition from his peers, Gillam maintained high marks. Gillam relished in twarting his spoiled peers in the naval combat simulations, though he always maintained a facade of order and composure as was expected of an officer. As he progressed through the Academy, Gillam found himself infatuated by the naval organization, it's bureaucracy and its rules. For outside the Academy, one's nobility or lack thereof determined one's lot in life. But here, merit and hard work were all that could be counted. It was here that his respect for the established order was cemented. At the age of 21, Gillam Belasko surpassed the initial expectations of his instructors and was granted the rank of Lieutenant upon completion of his training. He was assigned as a navigational ensign to the Hyperion, a heavily armed Gothren class cruiser. His first tours of duty took Lieutenant Belasko on patrols to the Doldrums, where the Hyperion hunted pirates prowling about the asteroid fields and escorting mining vessels. It was on his second deployment where Belasko saw his first taste of combat. A distress beacon drew the Hyperion to an ore freighter claiming to have detected an unidentified vessel lurking nearby. As the Hyperion rendezvoused, scores of boosterpack-bound pirates scattered from their hiding spots among the asteroids and swarmed the cruiser. The Hyperion, wanting in point defense systems, was unable to repel the individual pirates. They landed upon the cruiser's hull and pried their way into the hangar bays. Before the marine contingent could don their vacuum suits for combat, the boarders managed to depressurize much of the ship, killing a substantial number of marines and crew. All remaining hands were forced to defend the ship. The captain excluded Belasko from the fight however, citing the need for someone to steer the vessel to safety should the captain fall in combat. With Belasko and a skeleton crew left to man the bridge, the remaining hands on the Hyperion took up arms to oust the pirates from their vessel. The fight went poorly for the crew, who were substantially outgunned by the heavily armed boarders. It was apparent to Belasko that the vessel would be lost if something drastic was not done. In a snap decision, Belasko made a 83 second hyperspace jump from the asteroid field that deposited the Hyperion just above the swirling clouds of Artemon, the nearest of the Doldrum's gas giants. As the captain and his crew made a last ditch defense of the bridge bulkhead, Belasko plunged the Hyperion into the tormentous atmosphere of the gas world below. The Lieutenant watched from the bridge screens as his shipmates fell to the pirate onslaught. As shells rattled off the bulkhead behind him, and his captain bled out, Belasko locked the bulkhead and then depressurized the entire vessel save for the bridge. As the cruiser sank deep into the heavy atmosphere of Artemon, a melange of hot, noxious gases inundated the ship. The vacsuits of the pirates, well suited for the void of space, collapsed under the intense pressure and the heat boiled the pirates alive in their suits. Within minutes, all hands outside the cruiser's bridge - be they pirate or crew - had certainly perished. Before the Hyperion sank too deep into the crushing atmosphere, Belasko fought his way back into orbit and made his way to Far Valyria with only 6 of the original 400 crew remaining. Upon arrival in the Far Valyria, Belasko was ordered to submit a detailed after action report concerning the incident in the asteroids. Immediately after submitting the report, officers of the Imperial Armada arrested Belasko and forced him to appear before a naval tribunal under Admiral Rutherford. For months, investigators combed through the relevant data extracted from the Hyperion's semisentience core. Hours of footage from the corridor and bridge feeds were watched during the proceedings; the owner of the ore freighter was brought to the trial for questioning. After nearly a year of evidence presentation and discussion, Admiral Rutherford handed down his decision: Lieutenant Belasko was not guilty of either charge against him. However, the Admiral Rutherford expressed severe dissatisfaction with his conduct. Though he found that Belasko's actions in the asteroids and in the skies of Artemon were ingenious and necessary to ensure that pirates would not seize an imperial vessel as his late captain had commanded, Rutherford concluded that Belasko's actions were not in line with one of core tenets of the Armada's Code of Battle: that the crew fight to the last man to keep the ship. To this end, Admiral Rutherford issued a highly controversial punishment: that Belasko serve as the Hyperion's captain under tours of extreme peril. And peril the new Captain Belasko saw aplenty. Not long after the tribunal, the Arian Jihad broke loose across the imperial dominion. At the helm of the ship he had saved a year before, Belasko led the refitted Hyperion into battle against the transhumanists. At the skirmish in the Nebula of the Crowns, Belasko wrought bloody carnage against an enemy carrier formation and sparing it's Dratha class sister ship, the Aphelion, from a surprise attack by a transhumanist frigate. At the Siege of Korogar, the flash of a nuclear detonation in orbit left Captain Belasko blind. Even so, the captain of the Hyperion worked in tandem with the data gathered by the ship's semisentience and scored two kills against the enemy. As the war came to a close, Captain Belasko had demonstrated once again to all those who had doubted his ability. All but one, that is. In the course of the Arian Jihad, Admiral Rutherford, the man that had issued Captain Belasko this trial of penance, had gone missing in action. On patrol deployments, the Hyperion stitched across the most remote corners Imperium, searching for Rutherford's flagship and the man that had given Gillam Belasko his opportunity to demonstrate his ability to demonstrate his capacity to serve the Armada with honor. It was Captain Belasko's determination to find the Admiral and demonstrate that the decision to confer the rank of Captain was not made in error, and he would not conclude his quest until the flagship was found and it's admiral reported dead or alive. IC Sample: (Pending) Ship Name: Hyperion Ship Type: HSR2 - Gothren Class Artillery Vessel Semi-Sentience Profile: (Pending, waiting to see how others portray theirs) Escort Ships:N/A Ship Details/History:Following the incident in the asteroid field, the Hyperion was refitted to facilitate more effective solitary patrols. Four small point-defence turrets have been installed to allow it to repel boarding attempts more effectively. Even with these additions, the cruiser will still find itself ill prepared to fend off strikecraft squadrons. The crew capacity has also been increased, allowing for a more robust marine contingent. With a full two regiments of well-armed marines onboard, the Hyperion is capable of launching surface insertions even against planets with light to moderate anti-orbital defenses. This offensive surface capacity was demonstrated spectacularly during the Battle of Gharash. - population: 654 personnel; 132 crew, 522 marines - primary weapons/fleet function: Two Heartseeker railguns (fixed), two Excoriator rapid-fire batteries (nearly-full range of motion), 6 torpedo tubes (each capable of launching eight torpedoes). Like most Gothren-class vessels, the Hyperion's focus in battle is to screen enemy formations and score shots against high-priority targets from great distance. The Hyperion's semisentience is equipped to rapidly calculate accurate firing solutions for it's long range, high-energy Heartseeker slugs. At medium range, the Hyperion's weapon of choice shifts to it's arsenal of high-explosive torpedoes launched from tubes on the dorsal hull. To defend itself and it's sister ships from enemy missiles and torpedoes, the torpedo tubes can also launch defensive countermeasures designed to fool or overwhelm missile tracking systems. Should enemy vessels break through into close range, the revolving Excoriator batteries are employed to persuade enemy vessels to return to a safer distance. - marine contingent details: (pending) - strikecraft contingent details: (pending)

Name: Avery August Ulysses Rutherford Race: Human Augmentics: Neuro-uplink Rank: Admiral, Duke/Commander of Plentiful Dawn Alias: Some names have been given to him, but he doesn't like them or use them. Among those is 'The Ghost of Dawn'. Physical Description: Admiral Rutheford has a fair complexion. He stands tall, with a frame leaning more towards thin. His shoulders are sharp but not broad. His facial features are sharp and angular, but not overly wide or big-boned. His cheekbones are high and his nose is of average size, but bent slightly at the center of the bridge. Shallow crow's feet draw outward from the corners of his eyes. His hair is black and cut low, with white hairs at the sides. His eyes are an empty gray. He has some heavy scarring along the right side of his jaw, but nothing monstrous. He stands with all the grace of an officer and noble; never seen out of uniform and always with an upright, stiff posture. Personality: Admiral Rutherford is a man shaped by duty. A no-nonsense, stern man of high esteem, but modest. Though he is a high noble and officer, he is not arrogant, nor has he led himself to believe he is superior based on his nobility. He does, however, demand respect, that his authority be recognized, and his orders followed. Rutherford understands men and women have limits, both physically and mentally. He does not expect men and women to do the impossible, or what is beyond their ability or responsibility, but he does expect them to do their duty. Rutherford values duty above all and holds great disdain for those who forsake theirs. He judges people by their merit more than their social status, and is well aware some of the best men come from humble birth, while some of the worst hide behind impressive-sounding titles meant to be cloaks that shield them from responsibility, and are often lent to useful criminals to escape justice and live to do work as free men at the service of corrupt nobles. It goes without saying he has fought strongly for reform. Rutherford disapproves of the Crown's decision to allow former raiders and the like to serve the Kingdom as auxiliaries, or worse - full-fledged members of His Unapproachable Grace's Navy -, believing them to not only be a stain on the noble image of the Royal Navy, but murderers who have escaped justice. He has attempted, numerous times, to bring them to justice himself, and has barred many from ever entering his native world of Plentiful Dawn, on the threat of execution for their crimes. With his professional attitude and stern, sometimes harsh way of command, it is easy to consider Rutherford a bitter, self-righteous man. It is true he commands strictly and holds little tolerance for misconduct, but Rutherford is not without mercy or compassion. He is a caring man to those who do their duty and serve their fellow men, but absolutely ruthless to those who forsake their duty and serve only themselves. Loved by his crew, Rutherford is the kind of man to care for them on an individual basis when time allows, offering them help personally and often using his influence as a noble to ease the pains and concerns of those who serve under him. He holds in high regard the principles of humanity and chivalry, believing even war must have its limits, or else it becomes barbaric and indistinguishable from the chaos that tore the empire apart all those years ago. Personal History: Admiral Rutherford was born on the frontier moon of Plentiful Dawn in the Horizon system. A once prosperous agricultural world on the Acturian Empire's frontier, it was cut off from the rest of the Empire during the war against the Rival Claimants and was, overtime, transformed into an impregnable fortress-world on the brink of former imperial territory. It was reclaimed about 40 years ago (in the Valyrian Calender) by the Kingdom of Far Valyrius. As such, Rutherford was born and raised in gargantuan underground, military installations linked together by breathtaking tunnel-highways, under what was effectively martial law headed by an Admiralty. Having been the target of Rival Claimant forces, and later barbarians and petty kingdoms, Plentiful Dawn's once fertile surface was, overtime, transformed into a crater-scarred land of ash and ruin. Constant bombardment forced its citizens to live underground, and only the moon's innumerable anti-orbital-ship railguns - operated out of huge bunkers where only the gun's barrel peered out from underground - kept the numerous invasion-attempts at bay. Son of the High Admiral, Rutherford was groomed for leadership from an early age. He was expected to one day command an entire moon on what was expected to be an eternal struggle against an onslaught of barbarians and expansionist states looking to plunder the ruins of the Arcturian Empire. Several pushes were made to reclaim the surface, as well as other surrounding moons and planets, with some success. Over the centuries, worlds came under control of the Admiralty, only to be lost later, and sometimes reclaimed again not long after. In the later years, however, the Admiralty made the defense of Plentiful Dawn its top priority, leaving other worlds to be picked clean barbarians. He was nineteen when a fleet of warships from the Kingdom of Far Valyrius entered Plentiful Dawn's orbit in the midst of what had been, at the time, a two-year-long, devastating siege by a unified coalition-fleet of scavenging aliens. Far Valyrius' ships devastated the invading force and broke the siege, later incorporating Plentiful Dawn into what was to become the new Arcturian Empire at the signing of the Concord of Dawn - an agreement that peacefully integrated the moon into the Kingdom of Far Valyrius, and guaranteed certain rights and freedoms -- thus becoming the Protectorate of Plentiful Dawn. Believing his people owed a debt to the Kingdom of Far Valyrius, Rutherford pledged his full support and service to the Crown, enlisting in the Royal Navy and proving himself a capable commander. He remained on Plentiful Dawn for a time to help coordinate with the capital in assimilating the moon. Later, he helped incorporate its military forces, proving he was a capable leader on and off the battlefield. When the Kingdom called for Plentiful Dawn to pledge its forces on the frontline, it was he who led his countrymen. Rutherford distinguished himself in numerous skirmishes and full-scale battles that saw him climbing up the ranks of the Royal Navy, whilst also becoming more involved in the Kingdom's politics - though he was never great at political intrigue, having publicly embarrassed himself several times, and openly despised it. Having been raised under strict military law, he quickly became known for being a no-nonsense, sometimes harsh commander. He openly criticized some of the Kingdom's more lax policies, particularly those with regards to former raiders and barbarians. He viewed the Kingdom's tendency to pardon raiders and barbarians - many of them murderers and slavers - and even place them into positions of power within the Royal Navy as being absolutely unacceptable. He also exposed corruption where he saw it. This of course earned him a lot opposition, particularly from the corrupt nobility. Later, rumors broke out that he worked for the Office Unspoken, further alienating him from other nobles who worried he could be an agent working to stomp out corruption and dissent on behalf of the Crown. Though he wasn't an agent of the Office Unspoken initially, he did become one after being officially invited into the ranks (though left not long after). He joined the ranks of Admirals later in his career and became the head Admiral at the Naval Tribunal. By the time the war against Arius began, he commanded forces as an Admiral, and four years later commanded the Adamant - a gargantuan warship at least a millennia old. He served admirably for the first four years of the war, taking part in numerous battles and proving himself as capable as even the oldest commanders. His luck ran out at the Battle of Terminus. Caught by surprise and quickly enveloped by forces loyal to Arius, his battle-group was quickly decimated and the Adamant sustained heavy damage, forcing parts of the ship to be sealed off - sometimes with crew still inside - or detached altogether. Rutherford watched as each and everyone of the ships accompanying the Adamant were destroyed and Arius' ships began to close in. What followed was a devastating last stand that killed 60% of the crew and nearly immobilized the Adamant. Realizing he could not fight back, and unwilling to let Arius capture one of Valyrius' most important vessels - one under his command, no less -, the Admiral ordered a retreat as the enemy ships began to trap the wounded Adamant. Unable to maneuver around ships encircling it, the Adamant rammed through one of the enemy vessels, sustaining near-critical damage and tearing the enemy ship apart, killing men on both sides. Without time to spare, Rutherford ordered a slipspace jump to "anywhere" mid-ramming. It warped the Adamant - and the ship it had rammed - into the middle of nowhere, where men on both sides - the Adamant and the burning-husk of a ship it had dragged with it - continued to fight for another hour before the enemy ship fell apart with what was left of its crew. The Adamant drifted through uncharted space a wounded beast, lost, for what would be six, long years. During this time Rutherford struggled to maintain order and numerous ship-wide riots occurred, driving him to take desperate and harsh measures to save the majority - including the execution of those that threatened the survival of the crew with insubordination, starving out those detained to save rations, and other things he wished he could forget. He was, by necessity, a tyrant. It tested him and he nearly broke, having come close to suicide early on. Duty saved his life that time, and he pushed on. The ship's crew grew more and more independent over the course of these six years, developing its own identity. The AI did the same, becoming Wanderer. And at the end of the six years, the Adamant reappeared, true to its name, at the Battle of the Burning Stars, where it assisted royal forces. The ship fought silently that day though, without orders. Unbeknownst to almost all, Rutherford lied on a pool of blood in his quarters. A crewman discovered him, startled him, and watched as he fired through his jaw. He had decided he would never be able to lead his men back home, and it had effectively broken him. His last order had been a slipspace jump to "anywhere", before deciding he would take his life. He was treated for his wounds immediately and his life was saved - barely. When he awoke demanding to know where he was, a doctor answered simply: "Home." IC Sample: Pending ---- Ship Name: Adamant Ship Type: WIP Semi-Sentience Profile: WIP Escort Ships: Many. Name: Harper Neion Race: Human Augmentics: Besides the neural uplink with his ship, Harper’s right eye is bionic and looks almost completely natural other than the crystalline blue color of the iris; Harper also has a bionic arm in place of his left arm as well as an uplink to the arm around the base of his neck. Rank: Captain in the Royal Navy; Second in Command of Special Task Force Rho Alias: The Tinman Physical Description: Harper is a mountain of a man, standing at six foot three with a bulky and toned frame to him. His face and body are riddled with scars from years of service in the Royal Navy. His left eye is a golden brown color while his right is a light crystalline blue color, and is surrounded by burned skin. All of his scars and bionics have aged Harper prematurely, making him look older than a man in his mid-thirties. Personality: Harper is a very brusque man, making most weary to approach him, even his subordinates. The scars and heavy bionics do nothing but increase the weariness of others to approach the mountain of a man. When he does talk to others, it is easy to see he has a very crude sense of humor and a mind built for raids; Harper, while caring about his men’s lives to an extent, is not afraid to risk them to achieve his task in the name of the Royal Navy. Harper is said to be uptight with his men, demanding great amounts of respect; this has been attributed to him being extremely bitter about being stuck as a Captain.
Ship Name: The Rook Ship Type: Indoril Class Strike Cruiser Semi-Sentience Profile: The Rook has imprinted most of its personality from one its former owners, making the ship as cold and calculating if not more so than its current Captain. The two are known to work in fantastic sync during battles, as if the ship can read the Captain’s mind. Escort Ships: Ship Details/History: - Population: 23,000 - Primary weapons/fleet function: The Rook is mainly used to fire on enemy lines from long range, launch the main bulk of the strikecraft in an encounter, and secure escape lines for allies in battles and cut off escape routes for the enemy. The Rook has more than the average number of plasma batteries on each broadside because of the additional reactor energy it utilizes from the sacrifice of an extra back breaker cannon to house another hangar bay. - Marine contingent details: Having focused more on its strikecraft contingent, The Rook does not have near the number of Marines as other ships, totaling at around two thousand Marines. The Marines that are aboard The Rook are primarily orbital drop troopers. - Strikecraft contingent details: The Rook is the primary long range craft in Task Force Rho, and so has added an additional hangar bay at the cost of a third back breaker cannon, making it home to: seventy-five Archangel fighter bombers, eighteen Impi assault shuttles, and four cutters.

Athanasius Morning Rank: Commodore, Second Royal Expeditionary Taskforce, Commander of Naval Squadron Epsilon Physical Description: Tall, slim, human male with sharp features. Extremely pale and slightly sickly looking from too much time spent in artificial gravity and sunlight. His right eye has been replaced with a bulky augmentic targeting module. Close cropped black hair, impeccable deep blue uniform with several medals displayed prominently. Personality: Cool, professional, haughty, disdainful of bravado, incompetence, non-humans, army personnel, and radical politics.
Ship Name: Lord Ashfallow Ship Type: Demnevanni Class Carrier Cruiser Semi-Sentience Profile: Thanks to a career mostly relegated to anti-pirate actions and system defense, the Ashfallow is a ship in almost pristine condition, and its AI remains largely impersonal and uncorrupted. It has, however, developed a slight tendency for impatience with deviations from Naval protocol, and its great age combined with a relative lack of heavy combat experience has made it both rigid and unimaginative. It is a reliable and efficient Semi-Sentience, but one that relies heavily on its captain for creativity and improvisation, two features not generally associated with the highly competent but conservative Commodore Morning. Ship Details/History: - population 40,000 - primary weapons: the Ashfallow is armed with a suite of forward torpedo launchers as well as medium-to-close range solid ordinance and laser weaponry capable of engaging cruiser and capital class ships. Like all Demnevanni Class carriers, the Ashfallow is a carrier designed to hold its own in a close range brawl. - marine contingent: The Ashfallow has a large contingent of human marines and boarding craft outfitted for offensive actions. Commodore Morning does not tolerate xenos or mercenaries on his ship, and refuses to make use of G'Mok marines. - strikecraft contingent: The Ashfallow is outfitted with a full compliment of strikecraft designed to provide a large taskforce with a sizeable fighter screen and bomber compliment. Konrad von Ravenstein Rank: Grand Duke of Lynz, Protector of Far Valyrius, Supreme Commander of the Second Royal Expeditionary Forces Alias: The Butcher of Vornheln, the Red Duke Physical Description: A man of slightly below average height, broadly built, heavyset but not fat. Strong facial features, with a thick mustache. The Duke has startlingly bright green eyes. He generally wears a white military tunic bisected by a red sash, and wears a single medal on his chest, the silver sunburst of the Order of Alexiana, the highest military decoration in the Kingdom given to army commanders, awarded after his victory at Odros during the Arian Jihad. Personality: The Grand Duke is a famously quiet man, preferring to give orders through trusted underlings. It is not uncommon for entire strategy briefings to be held in his presence without him saying a single word. His patience and capacity for stillness and inactivity are as legendary as his ruthlessness. He is not a great orator and tends to inspire fear and respect rather than love and devotion in those under his command. He almost never publicly loses his facade of icy, quiet calm. The Grand Duke is known to be a heavy drinker, but is otherwise not much given to luxury or self indulgence, though he is a passionate hunter. Unusually for a man of his upbringing and station, the Duke is quite tolerant of xenos (the old joke in the army is that the Duke doesn't care for the lives of all soldiers equally) and is known for seeking out the advice of his Gn'Mok Legion commanders with special attention. His relationship with the Navy is mixed- few in the highly conservative naval hierarchy appreciate the Grand Duke's often brutally pragmatic, unorthodox and 'dishonorable' methods of warfare and many senior naval personnel raise an eyebrow at his strained relationship with the Royal House, but his willingness to listen to the advice of his subordinates, his tolerance of failure and support independent initiative in subordinates, and the fact that he is one of the few Valyrian commanders actively feared by astrogothic chieftains has earned him a certain level of respect. Personal History: WIP IC Sample: WIP Second Expeditionary Force Command Staff: Rear Admiral Gerhardt von Gimzbrundfildgeschutzen: The Grand Duke's primary naval liaison. A short, tubby man of sour complexion and disposition. A talented logistics expert with a personal life marred by a series of homosexual scandals, who owes his current position entirely to the Grand Duke, to whom he is unswervingly loyal. Count Aldamaar Cezare: The Grand Duke's chief of staff. Handsome and charismatic, Cezare is a famous womanizer and alcoholic. A competent chief of staff, he is one of the few friends the Grand Duke can be said to have, and it is he through whom the Grand Duke does most of his talking. Some joke that Cezare is the mouth and the Grand Duke the mind. Captain Ulthosour Crakehall: A ponderous, cadaverous officer, Captain Crakehall commands the Grand Duke's flagship, the VRS Arrogance. Addicted to his neuro-feedback provided by the ship's AI, Crakehall rarely leaves his Command Throne on the bridge. Ship Name: Arrogance Ship Type: TBD Semi-Sentience Profile: TBD Ship Details/History: - population - primary weapons: - strikecraft contingent:

Name: Vierinissa Neerdril Aleaniryn Race: Ilythiiric Noble Augments: Unknown. Rank: Captain in the Hexarchic Navy, unofficially able to be recruited by other nations not hostile to the Hexarchy. Aliases: None Physical Description: Vierinissa stands at six feet tall, and towers over her fellow Ilythiiri, most of whom stand between 5'3" and 5'5". Her frame is well-built, but not thick-set, perhaps one might describe as slim but muscular, if that makes any sense. She has snow-white hair that reaches down to her upper back, sometimes tied back into a ponytail, other times allowed to hang loose, depending on her mood, as well as piercing crimson-coloured eyes that almost seem to change vibrancy depending on her emotional state. She also has the characteristic coal-black skin of the Ilythiiri. She has a prominent scar running beneath her left eye that was inflicted by a rapier during a ritual duel in her earlier youth, as well as several old scars across her body from wounds inflicted in her career as a Hexarchic captain. Vierinissa can usually be seen around others in traditional Hexarchic uniform - a black buttoned jacket and black tie, a white buttoned shirt and black trousers with black leather shoes with several medals pinned to the breast pocket of the jacket. Depending on the situation, Vierinissa may also wear a peaked cap with gold embroidery, fitting of her rank as a Captain of the Navy. On her boat, Vierinissa is much more lax with uniform, and is usually seen in a black garment roughly analogous to what humans refer to as a 'tank top', black three-quarter length trousers and simple or no footwear. Personality: Vierinissa is a stern, yet tolerant officer. Her command style is somewhat more lax than one would expect of a Hexarchic captain, mostly due to the more community-driven feel of a stealth ship crew. Vierinissa often has to step in and rein in SLT Raeviir's brutal discipline, concerned that it might drop morale amongst the crew. Although Vierinissa is tolerant of failure, she does not suffer fools gladly, and has no qualms about telling people precisely what she thinks of them, including other captains. This may lead to conflict with others, so perhaps it is best to leave the wolfpack to her command. At least, that's what she tells her superiors. Vierinissa is also a very religious woman, firmly believing in the Pantheon and the Pillars of Faith in the Hexarchy, and although she is tolerant of other religions, she dislikes any jab or mockery of her faith. This attitude is fairly common amongst Ilythiiri, who see their deities as watching over them almost at all times. Personal History: WIP IC Sample: WIP
- The Hexarchic Navy Wolfpack - Ship Name: IHCS Argonaut Ship Type: Argonaut-class Stealth Ship Semi-Sentience Profile: Hexarchic ships do not have ship-based AIs. Ship Details/History: The Argonaut. One of the most famous stealth ships in the Navy, its name only mentioned in hushed whispers by excited ratings posted to the ship, and feared by any enemy vessel it attacks. The Argonaut is the first and the finest ship, as befits the lead ship of the class. Launched 12 years before the present day, the Argonaut is not the most combat-experienced of the stealth ships in the Hexarchic fleet - that honour belongs to the Amethyst. The Argonaut is the flagship of the Hexarchic fleet, and is under the command of Captain Vierinissa Aleaniryn, the Hexarchy's foremost stealth ship captain. ---- Ship Name: IHCS Amethyst Ship Type: Argonaut-class Stealth Ship Semi-Sentience Profile: Hexarchic ships do not have ship-based AIs. Ship Details/History: Commanded by Captain Garan Aleaniryn, Vierinissa's husband, the Amethyst is the second commissioned Argonaut-class ship and arguably the most experienced. The Amethyst has been present in every single major battle that the Hexarchic Navy has fought since its commissioning some ten years ago, and the Amethyst's crew are veterans of combat, more so than the crew of the Argonaut. The Amethyst, unfortunately, has also had a tendency to suffer from missile malfunctions, with missiles failing to launch, missiles failing to detonate or detonating early, once causing the bow of the ship severe damage when a missile detonated mere seconds after leaving the tube. Despite this, the Amethyst is also one of the most successful raiders in the Navy, with over 50 confirmed enemy ships destroyed. The Amethyst is a tough ship, with a tough crew. ---- Ship Name: IHCS Audacious Ship Type: Argonaut-class Stealth Ship Semi-Sentience Profile: Hexarchic ships do not have ship-based AIs. Ship Details/History: TBC ---- Ship Name: IHCS Alpine Ship Type: Argonaut-class Stealth Ship Semi-Sentience Profile: Hexarchic ships do not have ship-based AIs. Ship Details/History: Commanded by the hot-headed Captain Yuri Koslenko, the Alpine is the fourth commissioned Argonaut-class boat and is the most green. Captain Koslenko is a daring, confident commander who is perhaps a little too reckless in his attacks from time to time. Whether it's engaging in a gun duel with enemy light cruisers or a bold attack on an enemy dockyard, Yuri Koslenko has done it all. The Alpine itself has undergone several modifications that has increased it's mobility at the expense of shielding, which is now almost non-existent - not particularly concerning considering that the Argonaut-class is not supposed to be shot at. Apologies for the lack of detail in some areas, wanted to get something up for the time being.

Name:Logan Noctura (formerly Havarr) Race: Human Augmentics: N/a Rank: LT Commander Alias:Child Warrior (Formerly), The Pirate Prince (Also Formerly), Blackbird (his current nickname and Callsign) Physical Description:
Logans formerly dark hair has been colored a light blond to further distance him from his past, but his hazel-green eyes remain, and normally he is always wearing his jacket even over his flight suit
Personality:Logan can be described as a firm believer of always doing the right thing no matter what this sometimes pains him when it draws between orders or doing what he knows is right, Logan can also be described as a bit of a joker who is always laughing and telling jokes with this said he is a little bit of a pervert and he enjoys flirting with the many women around the ship, he is generally also very kind treating everybody equally including xenos.
Other:
Ship Name:The Archangel Fighter-Bomber Ship Type:Fighter-Bomber Semi-Sentience Profile:The Ship has an AI that helps with things like an extra set of hands on the controls or taking over the rear cannons when it's being chased. Logan's AI is simply known as the silver lady, due to her taking the appearance of a pale skinned woman with Silver Hair and clothing. She does not act like most of the larger ship AI instead being confined to the systems of the fighter and Logan's helmet hud. As for behavior, she cares for Logan which is an odd behavior for an AI which has caused some to question if she is defective or not, but she also gives the usual advice, tactical data, and all around pushiness of most AI who know what they are talking about. Escort Ships:N/a Ship Details/History: - The Archangel Fighter-Bomber is the ultimate pinnacle of Valyrian engineering, it's a durable craft that is capable of taking hits and dealing them as well, the fuselage is in the belly of the beast and reinforced heavily so it won't endanger the pilot. It's a heavily armored fighter all around which sacrifices some of it's speed but it's still an agile attack craft. It is equipped with two twin cannon systems one is under the nose of the craft, the other one is in the rear underneath the pilots canopy that is either controlled by a co-pilot in the older versions or the fighters AI in the newer versions. The cannons fire heavy shredder rounds that contain miniature flechettes that act like flak rounds to fighter craft shredding wings and equipment with precision. The Archangel is also fit with a missile rack under it's wings. It can either fit a rack of 8 scorpion anti-fighter missiles under each wing, that are capable of laser guidance or lock on capabilities, it can also fit 4 torpedoes under each wing that are capable of dealing with larger craft and causing substantial damage to the hull, it can fit 3 "Mole" torpedoes that dig through ship hulls and detonate either upon pilot/AI command or detonate when it chews through an significant amount of hull, or in the case of last resort the archangel can be fitted with two low yield tactical warheads for that extra bang, but it's only used as a last resort because most of the time the attack craft can't escape the emp yield of the warhead in time.

Character and Ship Sheets: Name: Rear Admiral Aden Wander Race: Human Augmentics: Advanced neuro-link, datajacks along spine, full-sensory VR interface, vitae-rejoo treatments. Rank: Rear Admiral Alias: “Master of the Bazaar” Physical Description: Aden Wander, from all outward appearances, appears to be a young human man barely at the age of 21 with blonde hair that is always ragged-looking no matter how much grooming is invested and sharp blue eyes. What isn’t immediately evident at first glance is that Wander is a recipient of rejuve treatments, the fact he is really twice his age hidden under a face that is uncannily smooth and unblemished, and a body more sculpted than born of exertion. Personality: Hedonistic, womanizing, cheerful, and frequently bored. Aden avidly pursues whatever form of pleasure and excitement he finds suits his fancy at the moment, before discarding it and seeking new amusements. Yet while he considers the job of logistics to be one of his games, its one he is never bored of and is solidly good at it. A logistical logjam is not a disaster to him, its a challenge to rise to and defeat by any means possible. Solidly thinks that actual frontline warfare is someone else’s problem, and lets his subordinates take charge whenever combat comes to him, although he doesn’t panic under fire either. Personal History: House Wander is a middling noble house charged with being custodians for the four moons orbiting a gas giant at the Vos system turned over to being pleasure world resorts and home to significant elements of the royal bureaucracy, as well as holding high-level positions in the bureaucracy at Throne. While this grants the House considerable “soft power” among the aristocracy, they have historically been unambitious and infallibly loyal, barring the degrees of recreational hedonism shared throughout the family line. This in turn has made the power and position of House Wander an unusual constant in the tumult of aristocratic politics. Houses may rise and fall with the fortunes of trade and war, but House Wander is already there to keep the bureaucracy and kingdom chugging along regardless of kings or lords. For those of the House who join the military, as many do given the rather prolific breeding of heirs and grandchildren, the majority end up in the kingdom’s logistics and rear-echelon units both out of connections (The current head of the Bureau of Logistics is Augustus Wander, along with several department heads also being Wanders or branch-family relations) and because their abilities are better suited for the tasks of maintaining supply lines, bases of communication, and supporting the fleet. Such was the case for Aden Wander, who while lacking in aggression and personal martial ability had a mind for figures and numbers. Quickly rising in the ranks of the rear-echelon units out of innovative thinking in organization and ensuring reliability of tenuous supply lines even at the heights of the Arius Crusade. For his continuous reliability Aden was assigned to the Crucible and command of one of Valyrius’ precious Artificer-class Strategic Fleet Auxiliaries after the death of its previous master and some clever maneuvering by his House to cement their control over a second of the grand industrial ships. IC Sample: WIP Ship Name: Crucible Ship Nickname: “The Bazaar” Ship Type: HSR4 Artificer-class Strategic Fleet Auxiliary Ship Semi-Sentience Profile: A cold and robotic logistics AI governs the Crucible’s factories and repair yards. No emotion, no empathy, only a relentless pursuit of completion of quotas and objectives. Despite its near-uselessness as a combat adviser, with only rote combat plans tending to result in extremely high casualties, the Crucible’s S-AI is a master at coordinating interstellar logistics of an entire fleet given enough data, ships, and time. Recently it seems to be developing a sense of sarcasm. Escort Ships: Valiant Servant, Gravitas Express, Bishop of Plenty (Grace-class HSR 2.5 Auxiliary Tender) The Grace-class auxiliary tender line is a mass-produced multipurpose fleet support ship 1.5 km long, with spacious ventral cargo bays that can be used to haul enough supplies for a battle squadron one journey, return home with a field hospital full of wounded the next, and return to the front carrying fighters as a improvised support carrier or shuttles full of engineers for damage control assistance. While lacking in hull strength or direct-fire weapons besides point-defenses, these ships form a critical logistical backbone of the fleet inbetween or even during battles. Valiant Servant, Gravitas Express, and Bishop of Plenty are directly attached to the Crucible as part of the Just-In-Time Resupply Doctrine, commanded by captains Maxwell Raynar, Collet Minako, and Andrei Tyrosian respectively. R-96, Fury (Rook-class HSR 2 Escort Gunboat Frigates) The Rook is a heavy defense frigate, designed for planetary or slow escort roles that don’t require much mobility. What it lacks in acceleration and maneuvering power is made up with heavy armor and multiple laser batteries that can be dialed up or down as needed to fight strike craft or cruisers. The service history of the Rook-class as a whole is characterized by ruggedness under fire, all guns blazing up until the end of the battle or their reactor is destroyed. Two veteran Rooks are assigned to protect the Crucible at all times, R-96 under Kapitan Adolfine Strasse, a hardened veteran of the martial Strasse family, and Fury led by Captain Claus Wander, Rear Admiral Wander’s younger brother. Ship Details/History: Just as rare and strategically important as the battlecruisers and battleships of the Royal Navy are the precious few Fleet Auxiliaries capable of maintaining them. Each of them worth entire fleets of lesser freighters, tenders, and transports that would otherwise be required to maintain the starships of the Valyarian Kingdom in its far-distant campaigns. More than once during the Dark Ages, crusades and wars have been launched to recover even the broken hulks of these logistical juggernauts, and for the secrets they retain. The Crucible is one of five Artificer Class Strategic Fleet Auxiliaries of the Kingdom, a mobile four-winged fleet starbase six kilometers long from end to end. Combining the assets of a starbase to an ancient FTL drive to enable it to follow fleets where they need support. These mobile fleet bases have been the linchpin of several campaigns in the past, including the Arian Jihad where the presence of an Artificer at hand was often the most pivotal factor in whether a battlegroup was successful in taking and holding a world against the enemy. The logistical superiority they provided and the decisive capture of Arius’ only Artificer played a major role in the warlord’s eventual demise, said to have shortened the war by three years according to fleet analysts. Yet for all its strategic importance, the Crucible itself had not earned fame nor glory unto itself in the war, given its rear-lines role and irreplaceable nature. This in turn resulted in the Crucible being a handy dumping ground for well-connected noble’s heirs to valuable to die, second-rate conscripts, unambitious officers, black marketeers, and third and fourth sons of little remarkable ability. Under the command of Rear Admiral Aden Wander during the war, this motley crew was turned into one of the finest engineering forces of the kingdom, as well as also its most decadent. Rather than curb the growing excesses of his crew, Aden instead codified, regulated, and set up an entire sub-section of the Crucible towards the growing black market to turn it into a open fleet bazaar. Adding being site of R&R to the logistic ship’s growing resume as Bazaar grew into promenades and red light districts and luxury noble clubs, and the Crucible gradually became a mobile one-stop station for a fleet in need of all the facilities of home close to the front. With the new campaign declared despite the previous war only just coming to a conclusion, the importance of the Crucible and its fellow Artificers would only grow further. Especially as the Crucible has been designate the Royal Flagship of the King in remote of Throne. - population: 125,000 crew, variable aprox-200,000 assorted civilians, logistics and administration staff, industrial workers. - primary weapons: The Crucible is not a frontline warship, but an Artificer is still a HSR4 class vessel. Albeit better classed as a mobile starbase than a dreadnought of the wall. What it lacks in mobility, it possesses heavy plasma beam cannons, torpedo tubes, and gun batteries. -fleet function: Task Force Logistics ship. The Crucible serves as a mobile repair yard, a factory for munitions manufacturing, a hub of logistics administration and coordination, and rest stop for tired crews with onboard “creature comforts districts” for an entire task force. Major attractions of the Crucible’s Recreation Decks: WIP, coming soon. Major Officers and Notable Personnel “The Tac Witch” Chief Tactical Officer, Commander Melanie Hawthorne: Melanie is a woman of paradoxes. Outwardly an elegant and very full-figured angel incarnate, she is in charge of the Crucible’s systems and coordinating its defenses. A job she takes to with almost disturbing gusto, rejoicing in the deaths of the enemy at the hands of her weapons in the most creative ways possible, which was why she was eventually removed from the front. While her behavior can be solidly classified as sadism, Wander reigns in and redirects her excesses and she is a remarkable gunner regardless of her “hobbies” belowdecks or in her quarters. “The Witch’s Pet” Lieutenant Commander Daren Conway: Subordinate officer to Commander Hawthorne, serving as the Crucible’s E-War and battlespace management officer and primary link to the ship’s AI. A not-so-closet masochist, and frequently the recipient of his superior officer’s “affections”. Regardless of their off-duty activities, Daren and Melanie are a very well synchronized duo who make surprisingly good use out of the Crucible’s armament for an auxiliary. “The Fox” Chief Administrator Otsune Wakahisa: The head of the attached royal bureaucrat logistics administration division is a seemingly young woman with fox ears and tail. Disguising the fact she is pushing 70 years of age with heavy-duty rejuve treatments and has earned the right to dress and act the way she does because of her extended service and high ranking and pull in the Imperial bureaucracy to ensure supplies run smoothly and all the spoils of war properly tallied. Not-so-unofficially one of Aden Wander’s mistresses, although its more of a recurring workplace fling among similar ranking persons than a serious relationship or act of patronage from either of them.
