"There is always a Lighthouse, a Man, and a City." These words grace the Bioshock Franchise, showing the constants of many alternate universes. This is the tale of one of them... The year is 2020, the world lives in relative peace, over the past decade there have been few wars, and no mass exoduses to extremist cities, instead, since the dawn of the millenium, a small cult lead by a rich man has been quietly tinkering away on a small island, just off the coast of Madagascar. The citizens on this island are mostly the poor, lead by scientists with radical plans for the future of humanity, They have founded a small compound known as "Megiddo." The Cult of Megiddo is founded on ideals of transhumanism and a philosophy of empowering humanity with the gifts of nature. The community has managed to remain isolated as few who visit it leave, and those who do return with stories of monsters walking and talking like ordinary people. It is suspected by many world governments that the leaders of the community have ties to numerous supercorporations and utilize their influence to remain off the radar. Megiddo is not known as a restricted airspace, but on this day, a passenger jet was mysteriously lost over the island, those who survived the crash emerge to see things no man ought to suffer through... This is a survival horror esque roleplay with emphasis on gaining power and managing an escape. The island of Megiddo has actually recently fallen into collapse as the survivors begin to explore it, with numerous monsters running rampant and most technology left non-functioning. It will be up to the players to solve numerous puzzles, and perhaps embrace the technologies that ruined the island in the first place if they are to survive... NOTE: This is based off of the original design documents for Bioshock, it was a very different game when it first entered production in the early 2000's, many features of those original plans will be used, though I have tailored the plot and set up to be more conducive to group roleplaying as well as the modern era and conventions of the Bioshock series.
