I should probably start working on my family history if this serf rebellion is to take off...
Quick question though, do you plan to start the rebellion immediately as the RP starts or are you going to hold it off for a bit?
I was thinking of perhaps starting off with the rebellion. But if you are thinking something different we can always discuss in PM.

How is the county of Laeutaeu?
Mostly mountainous as seen here:
As for population, predominantly German with a Slavic minority to the very north (Bohemians).

Yup. Two or three mines. Majority of the mines will be down south, in Greinburg. That entire county is in the mountains. I was thinking Greinburg will be the mining hub of the duchy, Manburg has very fertile ground along the middle so perfect for agriculture and also some mining in the south, Rastenburg as well, Dobersberg is good for agriculture and cattle herding, Lichtenau is great for cattle and mining.

So when you say mining is it like mining of everything or will you randomize what is mined? Like gold, silver, copper etc?

Most likely will randomize. The ore being mined will determine the revenue from the mine, gold mines being the most valuable, then silver, iron, copper and coal. The most valuable mines are of course placed in the most mountainous parts.

Yes, but you will have less manpower being in the mountains. That's the trade.

I shall edit my history to be more appropriate soon then.

Is the river leading to austria in Rastenburg???
Yes, but you will have less manpower being in the mountains. That's the trade.
So does that mean Rastenburg will have a fair bit of man power?

What do you guys think about general manpower of the entire duchy? It should not be too big since the duchy is pretty small and mostly mountainous. In my opinion should not be more than 6000 men in total. I saw some RPing guide regarding realistic army numbers that said about 5% of total population count would be professional soldiers. So the duchy would have a total population of about 120 000 people. That sounds reasonable, right?

Probably the most, after Manburg. I'm tempted to add another town or village in the place where it says "County of Rastenburg" as it's taking quite a space. I made the county too narrow.

That sounds fine however does that 6,000 include the levies that are conscripted during big wars??? Or are we going for an England style and having the peasantry pay a small tax to avoid fighting, thus using this money to have a larger professional army??? Fair enough...I see what you mean.

6000 is regular troops without the levies. We'll probably have them pay small tax to avoid fighting but if times are hard perhaps raising a peasant army to complement the professionals won't be off limits.

Yeah obviously the peasantry would only be called in emergencies or big campaigns when the farming season is off...
