Meat, Meat, MEAT!
As the girl smugly went on and on, Edward did his best to ignore her until he noticed that she had gotten up and was walking away. "Where are you-- You have to pay for that!" he yelled as she left the building, running after her. The nerve. He'd hardly ever seen a customer so rude. She had come in, run her mouth and left without paying. "Hey! Get back here!"

CCG Headquarters Yuuka smiled. This kid was sharp. Things she never would've thought of at his age he grasped in an instant and he could even follow the thought processes of a Special Investigator. "You've got a bright future ahead of you at the CCG, Hisoka-kun. Now, where to start... How about the downtown area? Not near the parks, but in the heart of the downtown where the 8th ward borders the others. That would be the most likely place to find a motorcycle shop in the Eighth ward, and if we're careful we might be able to spot a Ghoul smuggling ring bring in stuff like horses and blacksmiths from other wards. If we searched all the residential areas he'd catch onto us before we did him, so we need to work from the outside and work our way in. Sound good?"

Praise from his superiors was not something Hisoka was completely used to yet. He'd had it from his teachers at the academy, but to hear it from a Special Investigator was a whole different level. A feeling which he could only describe as 'funny' stirred in his chest, the urge to give a wide being forcefully pushed down for impressions sake. Instead, he just bowed his head in thanks. Another idea came to mind. "Understood, Matsuoka-san. Um... before we head into town, I have a request - could I buy some difluoroethane and dry ice while we're out? I have an idea in mind for dealing with Knight. It is pretty silly sounding, but I think it will work." He rubbed the back of his head, realising that the two things were an odd combination to ask for, to say the least - but given they had information on how Knight fought it's battles, he saw no reason to not prepare for facing it. Who was he kidding, he was partnered with 'Cannibal Corpse' Matsuoka. She could wipe the floor with most A Rating Ghouls. It was a dumb idea, thinking too hard on a single case when there were lord knows how many others to work on after this one was complete. "...Actually, never mind. It's just silly. Let's go."

Chou and Akurai
Chou watched as Ishin disappeared, happiness and disappointment bubbling in her stomach- grateful that he had allowed for her small request, but ashamed that she had made one in the first place. Nonetheless, she had made one and now had to follow through, making her way towards the blonde. It had seemed that the girls plea had worked as the man quickly vanished after given a few orders to the girl. However as the man vanished Akurai let out a sigh of relief, he would live to see another day. Reaching out a hand, she whispered in her small voice, "Ghouls taste weird don't they?" Pointing to herself, she greeted, "My name's Chou... we should get you out of here... There are cameras everywhere, you know." "Less weird and more absolutely horrible." Akurai hesitated before he took the girls hand "The name Is Akurai" however as she mentioned the cameras he shrugged "Well nobody knows who I am so I don’t know if I need to be afraid of the cameras just yet" But non the less he followed the girl Chou naturally reached for Akurai's hand- after all, she didn't travel with Ishin unless they were hand in hand, and it had come as second nature. "Put this mask on, just in case," she said, placing her mask over his face, using various ribbons from her dress to cover up her own. Then, when the two were set, she released her wings and with a tight hold on Akurai, pushed the two of them off the ground and onto a rooftop. Akurai put on the mask the girl handed him, it was small and barely covered his face, but it was the least he could do for her. The two of them jumped from roof top to roof top and soon after reached the entrance to what Akurai guessed was some sort of club. Chou let go of Akurai’s hand as they reached just before the club, and she warned him- "The people here might be easy to hunt... but you can't, okay? Not until Ishin says you can." "Well... as said I have no interest in hunting these people." He stopped for a moment and then asked "So... his name was Ishin?" "Yes," Chou nodded as she took his hand once more to drop down in an alley. Opening the back door, she continued, "He owns this club. And if you don't hunt... they can provide for you." Pausing, she reiterated, “I'll hunt for you." After all, he was her responsibility. Akurai didn't answer when the girl offered to hunt for him. He didn't want that. That would mean she would go out and kill for him and no matter how you twist it that does not sound good. "I can find my own food...somehow" After asking for the key, Chou looked down at it and furrowed her brows and then the two of them starting to walk down the halls of rooms. Chou’s eyes often flickered up and down to try and match the symbols on the key and the door, almost reaching for 3-D before realizing the second character was different from the one on her key. "Here," she said, after two more doors, clicking the key open and stepping aside to let Akurai through. "You can clean up in here," she added, looking over his messy attire, "If you need to." Akurai looked at his clothes and felt the holes in the back of his shirt "I suppose I should change... the things that come out of my back rips holes in all my clothes... it is rather annoying" he could not help to give the girl a faint smile. Chou tilted her head at the blonde's smile, finding it different from Ishin's blood thirsty one. "Okay," she nodded, allowing him to do his business before starting to rummage through the drawers, hoping to help by finding him clothes. And she knew they kept clothes here- she remembered her father doing it too.

"What do you think about this one?" Kaede asked, holding up a blue dress. She looked at Hisoka with a questioning gaze. "It's nice, but I think red would look better on you," Hisoka responded, smiling gently. "Hii-chan," Kaede frowned slightly," you always say that. Plus they don't have a red version. So what do you think about this one? Should I get it?" "It's very nice, but you should wait and see if you find anything better before you buy anything." "Geez, Hii-chan, you sound like my mother," Kaede sighed. She put down the dress and continued to look around the store. Hisoka smiled slightly. Kaede had forced her to go shopping. It wasn't really Hisoka's thing, but Kaede had practically begged for it, so Hisoka had agreed to go. "Hii-chan, I'm going to buy the dress, okay," Kaede said, walking up to the counter. Hisoka followed her, she was slightly upset that Kaede has not bought a red dress. Even though Hisoka did tell it to a lot of people, Kaede really did look good in red. It wasn't just that Hisoka had a thing for red, most of her victims wore red, a noticeable fact. "Hii-chan, are you scared of ghouls?" Kaede asked as she sat down at a small table with a smoothie. "Only slightly," Hisoka responded, in truth she wasn't. She was rank S. She could take care of most attackers. "Hey, Kaede. What should I write my next article on?" "You should do it in recent ghoul attacks. Or something like that," Kaede responded. Hisoka frowned slightly. To do an article like that she would need to find out the ghouls who have most recently attacked. She might be able to ask the CCG, but that would be dangerous. "Well, bye, Hii-chan," Kaede said, standing up and leaving. Hisoka waved, before heading back. Once Hisoka had gotten back to her house she made sure to put her mask in her bag before heading out again. She had made sure to cover the mask. She was going to collect information on recent ghoul attacks, and there might be a chance of getting information straight from ghouls.

Bakura laughed a little at what Edward said "Don't count on it" He said, taking another sip from the coffee as the female stranger began to speak. Edward was obviously annoyed but Bakura didn't mind it. It actually kept his mind off the pain as he focused on healing. Without even noticing, she was gone. He turned to speak to Edward, but he was gone as well "I should of made that Rhino suffer some more" He stood up, gripping his broken ribs. He hit the door leading to the kitchen open with his shoulder and walked in, looking at the barren kitchen. It was a relief to see no one could stop him. Not like they could in the first place. Despite his weakened state, he could still put up one hell of a fight. He hit open the last door, now on the roof where he was free of cameras. He looked at his jacket as he quickly activated his Kagune while his eyes remained the same. The tips of the appendages tore bits and pieces of his jacket before dispersing back to normal. He decided to alter the way his jacket looked to avoid relation between himself and his alias. He put on his hood and his mask, his state of mind changing due to him being under disguise. He leapt away from the building top to hunt away from the shop. He stopped once he was far enough from the shop. In the distance, he could see a night club which was known as a Ghoul refuge. He grabbed his ribs as he moved his left arm inch by inch. He knew it would be dangerous to fight another Ghoul at the moment, as much as he craved their meat. He shook his head. Bakura was in shock at his own thoughts. He actually craved the meat of one of his own. He took a seat on the building top and crossed his legs, sitting in a meditation like position. He closed his eyes and focused his mind on both his senses and his healing. He listened out for any potential meals.

CCG Headquarters Rank 2 Ghoul Investigator Saito Yuuma was officially cleared for duty once again. His body had healed itself as best it could, and he had worked hard to get back into shape. All the paperwork was done, and he had been assigned a new partner. He had even received his new Quinque, which he held onto at this very moment, in its briefcase form. He quickly looked over the papers on his new partner for the dozenth time as he walked. 19-year-old Luca Langley, also a Rank 2 Investigator. When Yuuma had first received the news, he had thought a mistake had been made. Two young, low-ranked, inexperienced investigators being thrown together? It didn't seem to make much sense. Yuuma had been assured, however, that there was no mistake, so he figured the higher-ups had their reasons. If the boy was competent, Yuuma wouldn't have anything to complain about. In fact, he thought, having a partner so close to his age could be fun. Perhaps they could become good friends, something that had never been possible with Yuuma's last partner. No use thinking about it now. He had called Luca a few days ago, scheduling a meeting in CCG's cafeteria today after-hours. Yuuma would soon be able to decide if he liked him or not, and then go from there. As the young man entered the cafeteria, he checked his phone for the time, noting he was a little early. As he dropped his Quinque on a nearby table and folded his paper away neatly, he saw that the large room was fairly empty -- normal, considering the hour. One person in particular did catch his eye, however: Cannibal Corpse, Matsuoka Yuuka. He had seen her around enough that her appearance was no longer shocking, but it was certainly still a little unsettling. She sat with a dark-skinned boy, the pair poring over what Yuuma assumed to be an assignment. After eyeing them for a few moments, he returned to his own business. While waiting for Luca, he looked over multiple ghoul files, trying to find an assignment the two could ask for, instead of waiting around to be given one.

Giichi Hadwin "Ah! Yes sir! Always glad to help out a fellow ghoul when I can." Giichi loaded the last of the human remains into the guy's freezer. "Please feel free to take an arm or a leg. After all, you did help me stock up for a bit. No ghoul should go hungry, especially down in these parts" "No, its perfectly fine. In fact, if it's all the same, I'd rather hunt for my own food. My parents, until they sadly passed, always brought me up to have me take care of yourself. Funny how moms are though, she couldn't stop but spoiling me and telling me how we should lend a helping hand when we can. I'd like to carry on their spirit with me when I can." A tear escaped from Giichi's eye as he said that, further solidifying the poor ghoul's trust in him. "...Um, sorry, but if you don't mind. I-uh, I could use some help though. See, as much as I try, I still can't seem to get rid of a cat that I'm scared is drawing attention to my place. I can get close, but when it comes time to, you know..., do the deed. I just can't bring myself to..." Giichi let out a nervous, fake, laugh as he slipped his finger across his throat, signifying his plans to kill the cat. "Oh, yeah that shouldn't be a problem. Got a soft spot for pussy I see." The ghoul teased Giichi to which he only smiled back, a little mind blown and wishing he could just kill the perverted sod already. "But yeah, I have a bit of free time. I can head over with you to get rid of the pest." "Excellent... Much obliged sir." Giichi almost couldn't contain his excitement. This would make the fourth victim, the first two being his parents, which he quickly learned his mistakes and thought of a better way to operate. And the third victim, which passed away two days ago. Female, late 20's, owned a cat. She had a lovely house in the basement of a barber and pie shop that has long been shut down for reasons unknown. Two days earlier... Giichi actually stumbled across her place by mistake. He was hopping building to building, running from his old life. He ran as far as he could from his parents house which was too bloody, and popular thanks to that news cast, to continue living out of. It was late one night when he ran into the shop, only to be followed by a near invisible shadow. He stood in the middle of the buildings lobby and let out loud whisper of a greeting to check if anyone was there. No one answered and the shadow just stood silently, still unseen, still watching. Giichi started scavenging around, looking into the register, the cabinets, and all the rooms in the back until he noticed a small stair case behind a few empty boxes. Suddenly two crystallized spikes shot out in front of his face and a woman stepped out of the shadows. "Who are you, what are you doing here?" Her voice was cold and sharp and an Ukaku kagune could be seen coming out behind her, but she was rather cute despite the scowl on her face. "Woah woah woah," Giichi threw himself back on his butt and his hands into the air in surrenderence to the mystery woman. "I didn't mean to invade, I just... I just found myself without a home suddenly. Not! that I'm being chased or anything, just..." Giichi fell silent. "Just what?" she demanded. She didn't want any trouble to appear at her doorstep. "...Just that my parents were just murdered by the CCG, and..." Giichi started crying, not only to try to sell himself to the ghoul that caught him by surprise, but also because deep down he really did, probably, regret the things he had done. A few moments of silence passed which made it a bit hard to continue, but he pulled through to the best of his abilities. Finally, the woman spoke up. "Fine. Come with me, you can't stay more than a day, but I'll let you crash here for a night. I hope you aren't allergic to cats, Angel isn't going out to satisfy your needs." The woman led Giichi back out of the shop and to the street entrance to the basement and her personal abode. "You can sleep on the couch, I have an appointment at noon tomorrow which you are to leave here permanently. You hear? No more coming back to this place... If you do need help though, I hear that the club Dark Nights is ghoul friendly. I'm going to bed now, I suggest you do the same." The woman left Giichi there in her living room and headed off to the back where she closed the doors. A small click could be heard a split second later. Giichi remained quiet as she left and looked around the living room. It was nice, compared to the shop upstairs. Everything was clean and white and there were mirrors everywhere. The cat was missing though, probably in the back with the woman. With nothing else to do, Giichi laid on the couch running through his mind what kind of job she might have. He was just trying to pass the time until he fell asleep, or until the woman did. Slowly the thought of cannibalism started creeping into his mind. He already ate two ghouls, rest in peace, and this would bring him closer to his goal to be as powerful as he ever could. The more he laid there, the more his thoughts excited him. Who was that woman really? She lived alone, secluded from all the world except her cat, and, albeit cute, had a nasty attitude toward strangers. Who would wanna be friends with that? It's been about two hours since the woman's door closed and all this time thoughts have eating at Giichi to kill the woman. {It's been enough time for the woman to fall asleep, right?} he thought to himself. He got up quietly, trying to make as little sound as possible and he walked up to her door. Nothing could be heard from anywhere and the cat still has yet to make an appearance. He tested the woman's doorknob, sure enough it was locked. Rather than breaking it down, he looked around for a screwdriver or anything he could use to open the door as quietly as he could. He eventually found a metal spatula which he was able to unhook the lock through the crack of the door, gaining him entrance. There was that cat, staring at him as he answered and laying on top of her dresser; ant there was the woman, prettier without a scowl on her face and tastier than ever. Fist thing was first though, he had to kill her. Out sprouted his tail shaped kagune, which awoken the sleeping woman, but was too late as Giichi was already on top of her and pinning her down. His broad tail reared back and quickly struck down on the woman's vulnerable neck, completely severing her head from the rest of her body. There he froze, pinning her dead body against her bed and tail separating her head, until some considerable amount of time has passed. The cat, still laying on top her dresser, starring. Now was the time for his long awaited meal. Oh the excitement, Oh the joy! He had the biggest grin on his face during his whole meal. His kagune retracted as he made his way down to the woman's feet. {Ah! So soft, so delicate little toes! Cute, small, ...delicious?} He brushed his finger down the row of toes laid before him. {Hehe... this little piggy went to market, this little piggy had roast beef, This little piggy cried we we we all the way....} CRACK went the woman's pinky toe, being torn off and oozing a deep red liquid all over the pure white sheets. CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK The cat, laying there eyes open, watching. Next came her foot, which he savored every bite until he made his way up her leg to her knee. Then he began working on her other leg. Toe after toe, bite after bite. Then together, he finished off both of her legs enjoying every bit of her thick, juicy thighs. When there was nothing left below the hips, the blood now all over the bed, but no longer flowing out of the deceased, he moved on to her hands and arms. Directly snapping off her fingers one by one with his teeth and swallowing, instead of tearing them off first. His hunger was quickly being subdued, but he kept at it. First the fingers, then the hands and arms. Then, he sat there. No telling how long he has been picking at her, he could tell the next day was about to start. He looked at the cat and there it was still starring at him, expressionless as it witnessed the devouring of its master. But after a moment, it was no longer a cat that stared at him from up top the dresser, but her. The woman's face haunted Giichi; pale and beautiful, but blemished by a look of surprise and betrayal. He adverted his gaze away from the cat, back onto the woman's remains and gagged in disgust. He quickly got out of the woman's bed and left her room to clean himself up. Next, he cleaned up the bedroom, taking the woman's torso and head as well as anything covered in blood up to the upstairs pie shop and threw everything into the oven which he immediately ignited. He headed back downstairs, locked himself in, and falling asleep on the couch just as soon as he laid upon it. About one o'clock in the afternoon, a knock on the door woke up Giichi. He could tell it was human, but after about ten minutes of waiting, the person left and Giichi went back to sleep.

CCG Cafeteria
Luca pushed one of the doors of the cafeteria open with the tip of his foot and squeezed into the room before it quickly moved to shut. The briefcase in hand got stuck between the doors. Once he'd felt the tug when he tried to walk a way, he pulled it to himself and let the door rest on the other. Looking around, the flustered young investigator tried to find his newly assigned partner. He'd received information about having gotten assigned to be partnered with another dove around the same age and rank. He'd looked through his file before. He seemed like a decent dove and Luca couldn't really complain. It would be nice to have a partner that was around his age. He could have a good, proper friend for once. He looked over at one of the tables, seeing a young man looking at some papers in those beige covers. From behind, he couldn't really discern whether or not it was him but he decided to take a risk and approach him. "Good evening," he said, blindly sitting across him. Finally catching a glimpse of his face, he let out a weak sigh of relief. Oh, thank god it's him... "My name's Luca Langley. Nice to meet you Mr... Yuuma, was it?"

CCG Headquarters Yuuka shrugged. "I'd be down with silly. It's prooobably not setting a good example for my junior saying this, but when you've been at this job for over fifteen years you kinda need something new to break up the monotony every once and a while. Even killing Ghouls can get boring if they're too weak to be a challenge, so sometimes I like to mess around a little on the job just to keep things interesting. Seeing how long I can go unnoticed by them, putting on disguises and infiltrating their ranks, fighting with one arm or leg tied behind my back, seeing how many Ghouls I can kill with improv weapons..." Yuuka paused momentarily to consider the ramifications of what she'd just said. "It's definitely not something a junior should do though! You could get hurt if you don't know what you're doing!" Having dispensed her motherly advice, Yuuka cleaned up her mess like any responsible adult should, and then turned to Hisoka and said, "Tell you what, we'll discuss it on the car ride down. Tell me what you're thinking and I'll see if it'll make for a good first hunt. This is your first real hunt, right Hisoka-kun?"

CCG Cafeteria Yuuma looked up, the little concentration he had had broken, and gave an easy smile when he saw the speaker's face. "That's right," he replied. "Rank 2 Investigator Saito Yuuma." He closed the folder in front of him, and stood up, reaching across the table with his right hand outstretched. "Are you doing well, Langley-kun?" Sitting back in his seat, he took a moment to gather his thoughts, deciding what he wanted to cover and in what order. "Before anything else, I have a request," he said, his easy smile still there. "I'd prefer if we keep formalities between the two of us to an absolute minimum. Not only are we essentially married now, but we're both the same rank, and similar in age. So just call me Yuuma." Yuuma gave a small, content huff, glad to have that out of the way. It would even help with efficiency. No matter how little, that fact pleased the boy. "I was going through these," he continued after a moment, pushing the folder towards Luca. "Have a look. They're files on some ghouls I find at least mildly interesting. I figure we can request to be assigned to one, instead of waiting around and twiddling our thumbs." Yuuma scratched his nose and leaned back into his seat, before deciding to share more of his thoughts with his new partner. "Considering we only have three years of field experience between the two of us, I can't help but feel like we'll be seen as weak and unreliable. And as much as I'd like to prove that notion wrong as soon as possible, I think it'd be good for our first few assignments to be C and B-ranked ghouls who have a penchant for violence. I'm sure you know, but I haven't done anything in a year, and I need to get back into the swing of things." His eyes darted towards his briefcase. "And my new quinque is a koukaku-type. The last one I had was an ukaku, and to say they handle differently is an understatement." Yuuma got out of his seat and stretched lazily. "Point is, while I'm plenty confident in my abilities, I wouldn't mind a little warm-up. We can familiarize ourselves with each other in a low-pressure environment. Then, we'll really start to work on making a name for ourselves, yeah?" he finished with a friendly smirk. The boy paused yet again, realizing he had been talking a lot, and hadn't given Luca much opportunity to speak up. "Is there anything you'd like to ask, or want me to know?" he invited, a curious look on his face.

Ishin allowed himself to listen at the door as it wasn’t immediately being answered. He heard a phone ring and a mechanical voice that simply sounded angry from what he could hear. He gave a short breath in and composed himself, acting once more as the dignified host and proprietor of a night club. The door opened and what greeted him was a woman; shorter than him, though to be fair at about 6 foot most people were shorter than Ishin, with a very clean cut appearance only marred by what looked to be animal fur. Ishin smiled briefly as she bowed, a cleanly snapped movement that was obviously practiced. Ishin leant against the wall that was behind him, slouched and hands in his pockets “not a pro-“ He couldn’t finish his sentence as she rattled off her name and rank as a Dove. Ishin straightened and smiled, practice of his own flicking a switch on his brain “A Ghoul Investigator?” He laughed “Cool, dangerous job though” he nodded and began walking towards the entrance “My name is Ishin Kuhaku, owner of this joint” he waved around his hand, gesturing to the walls “I have a few of you guys come through to wind down a lot…so I’ll offer you the same thing I offer them” he laughed “my clients enjoy ‘horror’ themes and taboo…if you ever find or…hmm…acquire some notorious Ghoul Masks” he gestured to the wall covered in masks “I’ll pay handsomely for them…might even give out free drinks” he grinned before gesturing to the entrance “I hope you can find your way home, Miss Hikari...and do come again.” Ishin turned on his heel after leading the Dove out, he had to check on Chou and The Boy…ensure nothing had happened. Checking that they had indeed come back here, Ishin made his way up the room and opened the door. He strode inside, like he owned the place…which he well did so that wasn’t an issue. The Boy was looking scared and frightened and Chou was rummaging through some drawers. He cleared his throat “Chou…tha-that’s the cutlery drawer…clothes are in the wardrobe over there” He pointed at the big panels of mirrored glass that covered a section of the wall. He strode over to the Boy and looked him over “Boy…show me your Kagune” he folded his arms “I need to understand what you can do and how best to train you to stay alive.”

Akurai watched Chou search through some drawers, but for what he didn't know. He lifted the bag he had been carrying with him of his shoulder and started searching through it for something to to wear, but before he found something Ishin stood right before him and Akurai jumped backwards. Chills ran down his spine, this guy really needed to stop showing up like this "Would it kill you to make a sound Ishin?" but he really did not expect an answer. So it was clothes she was searching for "G..guys I have a bag filled with clothes... right here" he pointed down right beside his feet. The next request Ishin came with was a bit harder. "I'll try my best" and as Akurai closed his eyes the thick ribbons grew out of his back and wrapped themselves around his arms, torso and neck. "It works like armor, it coils itself around parts of me."

"Quite well, thank you," Luca answered with a brief smile as his eyes fled back to the papers in front of Yuuma. "That's an interesting way to define our relationship," the younger investigator said, glancing up at Yuuma with another quick smile. Once the files were pushed to his side, his hands slowly went to grab them. He flicked his wrist to shake the papers and straighten them out before starting to browse. He would nod from time to time to show that he was listening, and he was. It was indeed true that they only outranked people who didn't come from the academy, but they'd have to show their worth somehow. What better way than that to bring a good few aggressive ghouls to their ends. The clapping of his hands were muffled by the paper and file shutting between them. "I think we'll get several chances to learn more about one another. It looks like we can start getting acquainted tonight, if you want to request the case right away," Luca answered, smiling as he leaned his back against the chair. "It's awfully fresh though. A good, ripe mystery."

CCG Cafeteria Yuuma gave another smirk, knowing exactly what Luca was talking about. Fresh was right -- the Bureau Investigators who had undoubtedly been dispatched to gather data likely hadn't even reached the scene yet. "I'm glad we both want to get into it immediately. I'll make the call." A moment later, he had his cell to his ear, put on hold after making his request. It didn't take long for him to hear the secretary's voice again. "You've been given jurisdiction over the crime scene, and are to head there immediately," she said simply, to the point. "At the moment, there are too many questions surrounding the event, but once we have more information, you two will be among the first considered to be assigned to any ghouls involved." Yuuma gave a quick thumbs up to Luca as he responded to her. "Excellent, thank you." Hanging up, the older boy motioned to Luca to follow him. "We gotta go, before bodies start rotting." As the two quickly made their way out of CCG Headquarters, Yuuma explained he had been told -- that they hadn't actually been assigned anything, but that what they had was a start. --- Targa Household Police surrounded the home, not many of them actually doing anything other than standing around. One of them, an older man, noticed the duo approaching, and stepped towards them. Not interested in wasting time, Yuuma simply showed his badge and the papers that proved him and Luca to now be in charge, and the two were quickly granted access. As they stepped into the house, Yuuma's serious expression remained unchanged from the sight and smell. He simply looked around, studying, mentally picking up anything he could. He did offer a comment, though. "Looks like some fun was had." Despite the positive-sounding comment, his brow furrowed. There were four Bureau Investigators present. Two held cameras, snapping pictures non-stop, gingerly stepping around the gore that surrounded them. The two others gathered samples from every pool of blood, every limb, and every unidentifiable piece of flesh. They paid little mind to the two young Ghoul Investigators. That was fine; they knew what they had to do, and they were doing it. "So there's three dead," Yuuma said, partially to Luca. "One woman, one man, and... that." He pointed to the largest pool of blood, bones with little flesh hanging onto them bathing in it. Mind working, he called one of the cameramen over. "You. How many people lived in this house?" The boy, who barely seemed to be 18, acted all flustered. "Uh, I-I have no idea, s-sir!" "Go find out," Yuuma ordered, taking the camera and motioning the boy out of the house. He continued taking pictures in his place. "Obviously a ghoul involved here," he said, glancing at Luca. "Just need to figure out what happened, why, and who."

Izumi jumped roof by roof, with only one thing in her mind. To hunt. With her pink mask on, she looked feral and more like an animal with each jump. Most of her face wasn't visible through her mask, but she wore a gigantic grin in her mouth while she sniffed like crazy for something, anything that could serve as her prey for the night. But of course, not everything is as easy as that. She suddenly came to a stop and observed a single person strolling about a dark alley, and she actually tried to make her grin bigger, but she was unable to. She was already smiling from ear to ear. Her kagune creeped out of her back, a pair of grotesque looking spider legs. She squatted down, ready to leap at the human right below herself. It seemed he was taking a shortcut towards his home, but if that was the case, then how unlucky for him to have been caught in Izumi's thread. "Itadakimasu!" Her muscles tensed and she almost leapt towards him from the top of the rooftop. Only to have her ears assaulted by a sharp neigh of a horse. It was unnatural, sharp and loud, some of the windows even shook because of it, seemingly about to break. Izumi crawled into a ball while trying to cover her ears. It might not have been so excruciating for anyone inside a building, or to a normal human, but to her, a ghoul and someone who was relatively near the source of the sound, it was really bad on her ears. "W-What? What the hell was that?" She peeked over the roof of the building, just to see her prey gone and a horse racing by. "Knight... you son of a bitch, at least warn people when you do shit like this." The ghoul, Knight, attracted all sorts of attention to him, now that he was so shamelessly racing by the streets while there were quite a few people in the street, as well as having his kagune out, fluttering much like a cape would. After a while, he finally found himself in the center of a crowded street, filled with shops of electronics. He looked around, until he finally found one of the cameras, which was focused on him. He climbed down from his horse and looked directly at the camera, and nodded. The image in every TV of the 8th ward was suddenly changed to an image of Knight standing between the crowds, while many looked at him, confused as to what was happening. "CCG! I know that you are onto me. As a ghoul, it is only obvious that you'll come after me. However, as the Knight I want to represent, I will not allow myself to bested by the likes of you, who use dirty tricks against us." Knight then turned his kagune into the spear he uses most of the time, and turns around to stab one of the onlookers. Many were taking photos, thinking it was some kind of elaborate prank, but as soon as they saw Knight's kagune piercing the victim's stomach, many ran. Knight threw the body elsewhere after that. "Cannibal Corpse.... I hope you are watching this. Come fight me here, alone with your partner, and I will also fight as cleanly as I am allowed. If you don't..." With bestial speed, he rushed to one of the other onlookers who were trying to escape and also pierced his chest. "This happens." He threw the body away again, and he started searching for anyone else that might have not escaped in time from his rampage.
Asuya
Already in his way to the night club Hikari was in, Asuya was attentavily watching his phone while driving, searching through the cameras to see if any of them caught something interesting. Much ot his dismay, they did. A transmission from Knight, the ghoul he just had put Matsuoka unto. It was bad, because, if they already knew of the orders he issued, then there was either someone on their side giving away information, or Checkmate was so much of a hacker that they were actually able to break through the CCG's security. Both were equally worrying. He listened attentively to what Knight had to say, before concluding that he should really leave it in Matsuoka's hands. Besides, Asuya had his own problems to worry about. After a while, he finally arrived to the Dark Nights and started honking for Hikari to hurry it up. "Hey! Hikari, hurry it up! We ain't got all day!" He shouted. He suddenly felt lots of deathly glares directed at him too. One way or the other, he knew why those stares were directed at him. The most probable case was that he was seen as the 8th ward most paranoid and irritating head ever, and that they were all ghouls. The other one was that they were envious of his incredible good looks. He wanted to entertain the latter, since it'd be way too troublesome to eb caught in the middle of a ghoul storm.

Leaving CCG HQ
Luca's smile grew as he got the signal from Yuuma that they had gotten the green light. "We're off 'en, hm?" He got to his feet with a stupid grin on his face. A nice mystery was always a good way to end the day. Especially one as unhindered as this one. There would be no trickery; all would be put in front of them as they were on the same night!
Targa Household
"Strange... Only one of them was actually eaten," he said, walking over to the woman lacking a lot of flesh and some limbs and kneeling beside her to take a closer look, though it didn't give him much more information. He turned his head to Yuuma. "Well... Completely, I mean." The boy cleared his throat as he got back to his feet. "We should do an RC count on their blood, to make sure who's what. We should take a look around the apartment too. If we've got any luck, there'll be more than just what we see in this room." It still bothered him. Sure, one of the victims was torn apart and eaten but the body wasn't fully devoured, not to mention the man who was simply killed. And the mystery victim... Pondering on the events that might've unfolded, Luca found himself looking through the rooms. At the third door he opened, he came to a sight for sore eyes. Blood. It wasn't too much but there was some blood and clothes on the shower's floor. "Yuuma! I think I might've found something!" Now this was nice. The blood had probably sunk into the clothes. From them, they could even see what kind of a person they belonged to. Height, size, and maybe gender... There might've been more somewhere in the house, if they were lucky. Once we do a sweep in here, we might get some DNA. This looks like it's gonna be fun...

Yoko Hikari Yoko listened as ths guy, Ishin Kuhaku, started talking. Yoko felt she got an odd reaction from the guy when she pushed her CCG skit. Not that she had a reason to think he was a ghoul, but sometimes in sketchy situations it helps to test the waters. She didn't think he was a ghoul, maybe he was just a bit awkward sounding to her as he was the head of the night club? Then there was the whole deal with the wanting of ghoul masks. She supposed there were different levels of agents just as there were clean cops and dirty cops, but handing over masks as a ghoul investigator didn't seem too professional in her opinion. Either way, she decided to put this feeling deep in the back of her mind. There was something there inside her that made that encounter a bit awkward, hopefully not for him as well. Asuya's car pulled up not long after Ishin finally left her. He was loud, honking and yelling at Yoko to go ahead and hurry it up to which she just rolled her eyes. She didn't care that he was mad at her nor that the people were starring them. Yoko just quietly got in the car and signaled to Asuya a quick 'hello,' and 'lets go.' "So, what's going on? We didn't have much time on the phone to speak, but I'm sure something's up for you of all people to pick me up." She pulled down the visor and opened the up the mirror as she took out her contacts and sealed them away in her bag. They were near invisible to begin with and served no actual function, but they were starting to give her a headache just as her migraine started going down.

As all the TV stations changed what they were showing Hisoka pulled out her notebook. She scrawled down the exact words that Knight had said, as well as summarizing what had happened. Perfect. That would make a great article. She could image the article itself. "Ghoul Challanges CCG Inspector." All Hisoka would have to do was be there when the battle happened. If she was there she would be able to record the entire battle for a beatiful article. One in which. She could use the challange itself along with a battle. Hisoka grinned and began to humm. It was times like this when she enjoyed being a freelance writer the most. She began to question some of the people who had heard the challange. She asked them how they felt about it. What was your reaction to seeing a ghoul on TV directly issue a challange to CCG? Do you think the inspectors are going to win? Those sorts of questions. And she recorded their answers as well as as much information she could learn about them. Age, name, etc. This article was a perfect way to get information. And Hisoka was already enjoying it.

District 8 Rooftops
A collab between Sketcher and Shiho
A fully cloaked and hooded figure raced on the rooftops, with an ominously empty mask on his face, the only two lines ending with the invisible image of a smile above the chin. Before long, the grinning ghoul took note of some commotion going on down below. He was quite tempted to interfere with some rampant ghoul causing trouble, but he didn't want to lose the girl. He noticed a figure whose mask stood out quite a bit. With his full speed, he approached her, the cloak fluttering behind him. Izumi slowly rose from her laying position, and she shook her head a bit violently. It pissed her off a bit that that guy was doing whatever and disturbing others' nights. Well, whatever. She had lost her prey and now had to search for another one. She turned around, only to see a cloaked figure menacingly approaching her, or at least that's what she thought of it. "Wha! Who the hell are you!?" Izumi shouted at the cloaked figure, her kagune creeping out from behind her back to help her protect herself. The ghoul slowed down as he got near, not revealing his kagune nor any intent to attack. His hand pushed out from under the cloak and grabbed the mask, pushing it back a bit further. "You didn't pay," said the voice quite simply. "I'd like it if you just did so now." Though it was somewhat altered by the mask, the voice belonged to the cook at Meat, Meat, MEAT! without a doubt. Izumi couldn't believe it. The guy actually ran after her with all his might. She sighed with exasperation. "Are you... Are you for real? I mean, there are way more important things, like the fact that I am actually searching to re-supply you, than having to worry about some paytab! Why do I always attract the weird ones?" Izumi said, sounding really tired, if a bit accustomed to having to deal with this kind of person. "Wait a bit." Izumi then started searching through her diminute cleavage, until she got a little coinpurse out of it, and then, she threw it at the guy. "Grab what you need from there, then throw it back at me. Though, if there's a single coin missing aside from what I need to pay, I'll cut them off you know?" The boy snatched the purse out of the air, rolling his eyes behind his mask. He counted the coins for the meat and the coffee and pulled it out before tossing it back. "Scary," he muttered half mockingly before turning his head to where the mounted ghoul was. "We have enough in our supply, you know," he growled. "Nobody has to go on a hunting spree and just kill random people to get meat." "Oh..." Izumi slowly took her mask off, to look better at the guy. Her eyes were filled with excitement and seemed almost like those of a rabid animal. "But I do, and I'll tell you this, pretty boy. Either you stop being such a partypopper, or I'm going to start tonight's hunt with you!" He remained unmoved. I guess it could work... "Hmph... Fine," he said, walking towards the general area she was at. "This isn't the place to do it though. Looks like that guy's already going at it." He pitied the people below quite a bit, but he didn't want to get involved if the doves were coming. "There's a small... 'group' nearby. A place where some people gather quite often," he said. "An abundance of nice meat. And I really doubt that any doves will actually come looking for who killed them." "What are you, some kind of hero of justice? This is the first time I've heard of a ghoul who'd actually do something that good for society." Izumi said, approaching the edge of the roof, while putting her mask on again. "But as long as I have a good hunt, I don't really care. Now, shall we go?" Izumi then jumped off the building, just barely making her fall non-lethal after she jammed her kagune onto the side of the building to slow down her fall. "Hurry it up! We don't have all night!" Izumi smiled at him. Well, at the very least, she had found herself someone she could hunt with. The boy followed her, jumping across the alley and onto the other building, stepping on each wall once before jumping back to the other. He swiftly made it to the bottom, skidding to a halt. "You don't have to be human to try to be a good person," he said, annoyed by her comment. Her train of thought seemed quite similar to that of any dove's. He made his way out of the alley and moved quickly, but only as quickly as her. "Yeah, yeah... Why do you want to help the shop, anyway?" "I'm not actually looking to help you, you know? I'm just good friends with the owner. He knows I go overboard sometimes and haves me bring in what I can't eat for you guys. It never hurts to be overly supplied, right?" Izumi let out a cheery laugh, while she ran behind the guy, which, by the way, she hadn't heard his name until now. "So, what's your name, pretty boy? I might as well get to know who you are if we'll be hunting tonight's dinner together." It also came to her mind that she didn't really tell him her name, so she'd do just so. "I am Izumi, by the way. Or Hunter Spider, as doves like to call me. Use whichever suits you best." "Ed," he answered as briefly as possible. He wasn't looking to make a new friend, really. "It's right around here," he said as they reached a small, more vacant lot with nothing but a bit of fire in the middle. Edward sniffed the air as he got the mixed scent of humans and ghouls in the group sitting around the fire, laughing about their victorious battles of the day. His eyes glew as he walked onto the dirt. "Here we are," he said. Izumi didn't answer. She merely started laughing. It was the perfect prey, just sitting there, unsuspecting of what would fall upon them. Poor guys, somewhere inside her, Izumi really pitied them. Her eyes, behind her mask, quickly started turning black. "Itadakimasu!" Izumi shouted once again, loud enough to alert more than one of them. She rushed to where they were, and then started her dance of death, the two strands of her kagune moving around to do her binding. She pierced the stomach of one, then the throat of another, and she was smiling all the while. "This is fun! Fun! So many easy preys in one place... I might get addicted to it." Izumi said, frantically while she continued on rampaging like a wild animal. Edward followed suit, though he didn't let out his kagune. With his now tilted mask, he rushed past a few of them, biting off meat from their fragile necks as he passed. Though he wouldn't admit it, he had a smile on. He enjoyed the rush, but who didn't? Blood everywhere, flesh tearing apart... He moved from man to man with speed, his mouth covered in the crimson water. Soon enough, the group had all collapsed, either killed by Izumi's kagune or Edward's hunger. He moved towards one of them who had his eyes black and red. He repeated what the girl had said before starting the main course. Izumi looked through the corner of her eye at the guy. He was pretty into it now that they were there, hard to imagine he was so against her killing people a while ago. When he approached another guy and repeated what she had said before, Izumi knew it was her chance. She approached the guy from behind, lifted her kagune and with one swift movement, she brought it won on him and the other ghoul in the ground, hoping to pierce them both through the stomach. "I told you, right? Continue being a partypooper and you'll be come part of the hunt." The boy felt the kagune go through him, coughing. With all of his might, he dashed forward before the kagune could lock him in. The wound slowly started to regenerate as he looked over at the girl with the dull eyes he had before. He'd snapped out of the frenzy he was in before. "Haaa... So you really are the worst kind of person," he said, chuckling, correcting his mask once more. It fucking hurts...! A bulge appeared over his back and his kagune appeared in its crystalized form, two large sword shaped wings spreading out while four more noticable kagune flung out. "You want to pick a fight, prick!?" "Actually, no. I don't want to pick a fight. I want to start the hunt!" Izumi threw herself at Edward, bringing her kagune forward with her own body. She brought both pairs of legs down upon her opponent. "You are fast, I'll give you that. but irritating as hell too! Don't think you can get away with insulting Izumi-sama like that, boy!" Izumi shouted at him. "Egomaniac," the boy muttered as he took a large leap back and tapped off the ground to dodge, creating a storm of projectiles to be thrown at her in the meantime. If he hadn't just eaten, there was no question that the blow he'd taken would have taken hours to heal. Luck was his thing, apparently. "Only a megalomaniac call herself 'sama'!" Izumi took the full brunt of Edward's attack on her back, taking just a few of his projectiles on her kagune. "Tsk. You damned rat! Stop squirming around, will ya?! I can't finish you off!" Izumi took one of the projectiles from her back and took it out, making some of her blood sip from her wound. Izumi looked at how Edward moved, before finally being able to predict if even for a bit his trajectory. She took her kagune back to gain momentum and then brought it forward full force against Edward, hoping to throw him against a wall or otherwise. "I don't care what you call me, as long as I can see you dead!" Edward's kagune took a more liquid form and reached around him to shield him from a direct hit, but he felt the impact more than he needed when he crashed into one of the buildings. He got up, coughing among the dust. His kagune grew as he grew angrier, the spikes becoming more evident. He wasn't really in great shape, though. With a wise decision, he decided to creep out of the back window and into an alley. Even if she did find him, in a closed place like this... "Running away now!? It's no use! When I find you, I'll tear you apart and then-!" Before she got more excited, her phone started ringing. She searched for it in her cleavage, yes, again, and found it after a while. She looked at the screen and saw the letters 'CK' in it. She clicked her tongue. She stored it away again. "You got lucky, boy. Duty calls. Next time won't be as easy, though. Make sure you either never appear in front of me again, or that if you do appear, then at least have a written apology ready. Ciao!" Izumi said, before taking a backflip and running away from the place, leaving Edward alone. "Next time I'll be watching my back, stupid bitch," the boy muttered as he held onto his wound. It finally shut tight. He looked over to the edge of the alley, waiting to make sure she was gone before retracting his kagune. Next time, he was definitely going to be more than ready. This wasn't how this was going to end.
