So NOT the first-person online-shooting fiasco?
Nah- the good ol' sci-fantasy RPG.

A good steampunk game that isn't a JRPG. Or that awful Resonance of Fate game either. . . need more steampunk games.

Arcanum's combat kinda sucks, but everything else is pretty damn neat. I imagine you've already heard of it, though.

I assume you've already played the Bioshock Series, especially Bioshock: Infinite? It's not exactly steampunk per se, but it's very close.

I absolutely LOVE the Bioshock series; I consider the first game to be an absolute masterpiece. I admit that I didn't get through Infinite before my sister took it back (with regret), but it was definitely fun for the first few hours I played). Not sure how I felt about Troy Baker voicing the protagonist, since they had been silent up until then. Oh yeah and the second one was okay, but not extremely memorable.

It sounds familiar. Is this an older gen game?

Yeah. Not -too- old, but it definitely shows its age in parts. If you've played Baldur's Gate 1 or 2 on the PC or the first two Fallout games, they're a decent idea of what it's like. The combat is far more clunky than in any of those, however. Additionally, there's also Rise of Legends, which is a fairly decent RTS that features one pretty interesting steampunk/clockpunk faction called the Vinci. The other factions are also pretty great, with one that is heavily inspired by Arabian Nights and the other is pretty much Ancient Astronauts Aztecs/Mesoamericans. They're not steampunk, however. Windforge is yet another in a long string of Terraria knock-offs (Which is of itself a Minecraft knock-off, which is of itself an Infiniminer and Dwarf Fortress rip-off, and so on), but features steampunk airship building shenanigans. I had a great deal of fun with it, but unfortunately it's a little limited content-wise. It's a little harder to recommend than the rest, but there's also Steambot Chronicles, a rather overlooked game for the PS2. It's Japanese and the steampunk aesthetic kinda comes and goes, but it's a pretty unique game. It plays kinda like Armored Core, but with far rougher (but surmountable) controls and far less depth. However, it compensates for this by having a semi-open world, a somewhat branching storyline (you can even join the baddies), oodles of side material, and actual dialogue choices (In a Japanese RPG of all things!) Aside from the aforementioned problems with controls, it has a fair amount of loading screens (I wasn't personally troubled, but many reviewers were), a storyline that's kinda crummy in places, a rather uninteresting cast of characters, and a soundtrack that I honestly think is a bit balls. I dug it enough to play it through, despite these failings.

I'd love to see some virtual pet/simulation games based in AR(Augmented Reality), The PS Vita and 3DS pull of AR pretty well, but having them expand into a virtual pet type game would be great. The type of thing that actually uses the environment around you, and makes use of QR codes to allow others to interact, without both parties needing to be synced or playing at the same time. Honestly, I believe AR has amazing potential and I hope to see it get expanded. It's my hope and dream, that future handheld consoles start coming with AR goggles/glasses. Imagine creating something in a piece of software such as Blender, using your handheld and goggles to place it in your room, then syncing it's position to a router or modem attached to your computer, so that whenever goggles are worn in the room, the object is visible. But I digress from the original topic, sorry. EDIT: I feel it is worth noting that I don't consider stuff like, Dogz for the DS with AR capability as my ideal game. I'm talking more about those old hand-held digivices, but expanded, think pokemon but the focus is more on breeding, training and health rather than battling.

Yes yes yes indeed. I wouldn't mind if it took ten years to make it completely perfect. Just as long as it happened!

A GTA set somewhere other than Fake Miami/New York/LA(Cali) Perhaps one set in Mexico? The main character being part of a prosperous drug ring, where he is a fast rising star. Part way through, he gets set up as a fall guy, and is left for dead/arrest, and manages to survive/escape(or cop a deal), and comes back to take down the drug ring/take it over, after a careful manipulation of events. Or even one in Japan(Or somewhere bigger). --- Also, more games that work like Fable 2(Best Fable of the series), in terms of Renown and Good/Evil.

A Superman game like the Batman Arkham series created by Rocksteady Studios. The main issue with it is that the game concept would be difficult to create. You can't make Superman invincible, but you can't power him down so much that he is no longer super. Maybe something where Supes at the start of the game is weaker yet still super and throughout the game he slowly rises in power as his enemies do the same. Also, Kotor III.

A mobile suit gundam game where you can have up to two or three sides to pick from, you can build your own custom pilot from scratch, an interactive plot line, you can build your own suit or pick a pre-existing one from the series, and you can compete online with or against enemy players. Also in english not just japanese.

Not really that big of a game but it'd be one hell of a game. Mecha games need more love.

I would love to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with the game mechanics and open-world-ness of DayZ, only, like 1000 times better, and with an actual, like, 5000 square kilometer area, just like the actual Chernobyl exclusion zone. Some RPG elements, a system to prevent completely random KOS, possibly a singleplayer with a really badass storyline, and a multiplayer which is basically just an RP sandbox. Holy shit, that would be the best thing to ever happen to me, I would never log off.

I heartily agree! That would be awesome even if my computer would leak vodka.

For the topic itself: Firaxis Studios making either X-COM: Terror from the Deep OR a remake of Abomination: The Nemesis Project. Former because they promised to go full Lovecraft and the latter because the original was like X-COM meets Day of the Dead in real time. Abomination would have been much better if it wasn't rushed.

Patience is a virtue folks! Good stuff happens to those who wait.
