Both the boy and Dani had seemed amused by Pearleane's answer to Dani's original question, which made Pearl giddy. Pearleane didn't like being the center of attention, but when she happened to be in that position- she gleamed. Bonus points if she could make a person smile or laugh while doing so. "I heard the feasts here are to die for!" The other patron in their cart exclaimed happily. Pearleane nodded with great enthusiasm, she too was excited for the huge feasts. She adored eating food. ADORED. She prided herself on trying anything that was offered to her that could be eaten, even trying a jelly slug once. "I'm Peter by the way!" the boy commented "Peter Dobson." Pearleane would try to remember that. Peter and Dani. Pearleane offered Peter a jelly bean once Dani had taken hers. Pearleane looked towards Dani after the boy had answered, waiting for the next question. In light of the girl's condition Pearleane thought of it as almost a game. One could suppose it was a mix of her being naive and also trying to make the girl fit in as much as possible. She genuinely liked her, though she didn't know much about her. That's just how Pearleane was- diving into friendships without fear. “I’m excited to learn as well. I’m new to this whole thing. By the way, what was that… thing I ate?” Is what appeared on the white board as Dani flipped it over. Pearl's dark almond eyes scanned it, reading it, "That's okay. I'm brand new too, hopefully we can all help one another." she commented, looking between Dani and Peter with a reassuring smile. "And that thing you ate was a Bertie Botts every flavor bean!" Pearleane exclaimed her hands throwing up into the air as she was very excited about the subject. Perhaps too excited, as a few of the beans flew out into the cart and onto the floor. "Aww man.." Pearleane groaned, picking them up and putting them back into the box. Those ones would have extra flavor. "What flavor did you two get?" Pearleane asked to the two of them. She hadn't tried one yet, and was curious to see what the other two had gotten before she tried her hand at one. Before the two could muster out anything the door swung open and a few older kids stood there in the door. "Alright neeeeewbs. Move along." they said, "We always use the first two compartments. We'll forgive you for not knowing if you'll take your educated selves elsewhere." Pearleane looked unimpressed. Her mother, and the young boy who had helped her put her luggage on the train both said she could sit ANYWHERE she wanted to. "Hey, I don't think so!" Pearleane spoke up for Dani and Peter as her hand rolled into a fist and placed on her hip. "We can sit anywhere we want, maybe we'll forgive YOU for being rude!" she chirped, looking at the towering teens. She was most likely making a terrible mistake.

A trace of what seemed like a smile started to play on Alaric's lips. So Mr. Loony's actually pretty entertaining, he thought again, albeit much less snidely than before. Who would've thought? "Thanks," he replied rather wryly, "That's nice, I guess..." The boy trailed off in the middle of his sentence as he noticed a rather peculiar look starting to form on Nathaniel's face. A look he knew all too well by this point, actually... "Oh by Merlin's beard, here we go again," Alaric groaned to no one in particular. The boy suddenly got the odd urge to bash his head against the wall in sheer frustration. This's getting godamned ridiculous, he thought irritably as he watched Nathaniel leave the compartment. Then he fell silent for a moment, pondering. "They can't all be mudblood supporters, right?" he muttered to himself, frowning, "No, no... they can't all be that daft." If the people with even a shred of sense left in their brains weren't going to come to him, he'd just have to find them, then. Alaric would normally be... uncomfortable with the idea of barging into compartments like Nathaniel had earlier, but he needed to find them before he was convinced all the people here were idiots. Alaric got up and made his way to the aisle, eyeing the people in each compartment. ...Then he noticed the Slytherins enter through the door. Alaric's frown deepened as he watched them tell the first years in the first two compartments to just "move along". What a jerk, he thought disdainfully, You're not supposed to make such a ruckus then just... shove people out of their seats. The boy stood there and stared for a moment, wondering what he should do. So, of course, he did what he always did when he was stuck. What would Archie want me to do? he asked himself. ...He'd definitely want me to help. Unless they were mudbloods. But there wasn't any time for doubt right now (or so he told himself), so he made a mental note to check. Later. The boy gave the Slytherins a rather disapproving look. "She's right," the boy said, "Now bugger off before I... make you bugger off." As the words left his mouth, however, the boy started to feel a little doubtful. He hadn't asked any of them for their blood statuses, had he? But if he was saying this to a pureblood... Alaric suddenly felt a little queasy.

Caelum "That could be true." Caelum tilted her head, studying the other girl's wand closely. "I think that everyone has heard of unicorns. They are unicorns in many fairy tales and paintings. Maybe they are more powerful... or more friendly? I've never heard of a kelpie before I got this wand." "I am excited to use magic..." She felt the need to defend herself. She felt her cheeks turn red. She simply wasn't as energetic as the other girl. Both the sparks from her wand and smile lit up Charlotte's eyes. Caelum took a picture in her mind, she wanted to memorize the moment, and try to paint it later. "... I think I'm most excited to make my drawings move! Do you know if we learn that in our first year?"
Charlotte opened her mouth, closed it and finally found what she wanted to say, "I've only seen a few moving pictures, actually. I don't know how they make that happen. Special paint, maybe? So you draw, huh?" Just then, she heard some kind of ruckus from down the train. Mostly voices, but some banging and doors opening too. "What's that, do you think?" She got up and peeked around the door. "Lots of people switching compartments. Wanna see what it's about?" It seemed important that she bring her new friend along, she didn't want to wander into a crowd alone.

Rozalia looked on at the sneering fifth year, neither intimidated or impressed. Leo had warned her this might happen - there was always someone who took advantage of the new first years. Rather than moving, she settled further into her seat, folding one leg over the other and smiling up at Wade. "No thanks. We've already sat down, you see. Maybe if you'd like to take a compartment elsewhere; that'd be great." She said calmly, and the three Slytherin students stared at her incredulously; hints of worry was showing on Zeva's face as she looked to Wade; no doubt scared he would do something to get them in trouble, as made obvious by the fact his sneer was replaced with a deep scowl. However, the eldest, Tim, looked vaguely impressed. Although retaining the don't care attitude, he couldn't help but smile at the spunk of the younger kids. Most of them that he encountered just scurried out of their way, not wanting any trouble before they'd even gotten sorted. "Well well. You're a fiery lot this year, aren't you?" Wade said softly, still glaring at Roze. "It appears so." She replied swiftly, still retaining her composure with an almost patronizing smile - in this situation, she was looking to be the more mature one. "It seems you'll have to find someone else to bully this year."

Peter nodded at Dani's written response. Learning was also something he was looking forward to, especially after growing up in Diagon Alley, where the entire street was filled to the brim with magic. He couldn't wait until he would be able to cast charms, brew potions and even conjure up powerful curses (non-lethal of course!) although he was well aware that that would take a while. He took note at the comment of her being new to it all. Peter figured she was muggleborn and his face lit up at the fact. Maybe she had seen some of the films Uncle David had shown him. Strangely that was something else that interested Peter about Hogwarts. Sure it was a place of witchcraft and sorcery, but it also gave him a chance to meet people of all different types. Before he had a chance to ask, Pearleane had produced a small box from her purse. His eyes lit up at the site as he knew exactly what they were. He eagerly accepted one once she offered, closing his eyes slightly in order to not spoil the surprise. That obviously wouldn't have made any difference however, as he would never have been able to guess the flavour his taste buds were receiving. Cottage pie. Peter was completely disgusted; due to him actually enjoying cottage pie, although for him, that was a new one. Out of the corner of his eye he watched as Dani tried hers, and gave a short chuckle at the site of her taste it. As her eyes began to water, Peter leaned forward with a smile. "Take it you didn't get a good one then?" Peter was about to tell the tow which flavour he had when the compartment door burst open. In the doorway stood three students. They were obviously all older which slightly intimidated him. The girl was pretty he noted, although not his type. Speaking of his type, however, Pearleane rose her feet defensively. Peter kept his mouth closed as he watched her hands ball into fists and one thought crossed his mind; He was going to die before the train even left the platform!

Dani had mixed emotions when Pearleane said that she was also new to everything because, on the one hand, they were both equally inexperienced but, on the other hand, Dani wasn’t going to be able to get a lot of help from Pearleane. Hearing the name of the snack as Pearleane sent jelly beans everywhere explained the incredibly spicy taste that she had experienced upon biting into the jelly bean. From his expression, Peter’s wasn’t as bad as hers. To answer his question, she shook her head, scribbling down on the white board, “I don’t know what it was, but it was really spicy.” As Dani was erasing the black writing from the board, seemingly oblivious to the black flecks that stuck to her fingers as she did, so that she could start writing another question, this one about how the Houses worked, as she had heard them mentioned but never explained, a group of older students, each of them much larger than Dani, showed up in the doorway. Dani, as non-confrontational as ever, was perfectly ready to leave when Pearleane stood up, hands on her hip, and told the three of them off for insisting they leave. Feeling that she couldn’t just undermine her new friend’s attempt to stand up to the older students, Dani didn’t move or make any attempt to communicate, merely turning her head to look the leader, a lanky boy with a white lock of hair among the brown, in the eye without blinking. Her hope was to creep them out enough that they left, as she knew from past experience that people could be very uncomfortable with her never ending silence, an effect that was only magnified when she refused to break eye contact.

[Collab between Apoalo and myself] Chandler mostly just stared at the other boy as he listed the houses, this was where people called him weird and shunned him. His mind while very sharp had a interesting trait that has to filter all the information that he receives. The filter breaks it down and once it finishes Chandler can always remember the conversation, including the details around him. It just made him look slightly crazy simply staring with a little glaze on his eyes. He nodded as Nolan finished and shrugged. He watched closely to see any reaction to the stare. "I would say either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor since as you can see I can get pretty air headed as well. But I have a weird reflex to protect people." He shrugged again and patted Castiel a few times. Nolan nodded. "It's cool that you have an idea. And Gryffindor's always respectable. That was Harry Potter's house, you know?" The idea that the boy, muggle-born or not, would not know who Harry Potter was did not even occur to Nolan. He probably more famous than Merlin, and most muggles had heard of him. "Erm, sorry who is Harry Potter?" He was already excited by the small amount of talking and learning he had done. And besides Nolan wasn't looking at him like he was a crazy person which was helping Chandler's self-confidence. "Also what is a mudblood? Someone called me and my family that when we went to that awesome place called diagon. Is it a sort of curse?" If Nolan looked surprised when Chandler asked who Harry Potter was, he looked absolutely appalled when he heard Chandler had been referred to as a Mudblood. "What? Are you serious? Out just shopping in Diagon Alley?" He shook his head. "Well... a mudblood is a terrible thing to call someone who comes from a Muggle family, you know from no magic. People who use the word like to think they're better because they come from a magical family. Anyone ever calls you that again, you give em a good beating. It's a filthy thing to say." Despite never having experienced such discrimination due to his half-blood status, and his mother's full blooded witch status, he had been raised by a family that refused to tolerate such things. "I really didn't even think people said that anymore... "As for Harry Potter," Nolan continued, his serious tone falling away and being replaced with excitement once more, "He's probably the most famous living wizard. The Boy Who Lived, he defeated probably the most evil wizard ever. That was about thirty years ago. Here, let me see..." Nolan reached over for his backpack and dug through it. He found his book of chocolate frog cards and opened it, removing the Harry Potter card. "That's him," he said handing it to Chandler. "Really? Wow, no wonder they were laughing. But why make fun of someone just because they don't come from a pure family? Isn't that a good thing? Shows that magic is growing and that it will always be around, I mean i'm sure blood won't have anything to do with it when it really comes down to fighting each other heh." He sat back and patted his kitten who was purring affectionately and nuzzling his kneecap. "Oh cool, and he was in Gryffindor?" He was about to say more when he heard a commotion outside the compartment, sounded like just a few rows up, perhaps near the front of the train. "What is that?" "What was what?" Nolan asked. He stopped to listen and heard compartment doors sliding open, people crowding into the corridor. "Huh.... You think someone's having a duel? Roy says there's a duel at least once a week, maybe someone got started early." He jumped out out of his seat and slid open their own door. He saw a few other heads peaking out from the other compartments. Towards the front of their train car he could see a group of older students standing just in the doorway of the compartment. "I can't tell what's going on," with a bit of disappointment he added, "it doesn't look like there're any wands drawn." "Huh, weird. Something must be going down but doesn't really look like we could get any closer anyway. Oh well." Castiel shifted on his leg and did a sort of half-turn into a yawn curling up onto Chandler's lap and taking a nap. "So! Have you managed to do any spells yet? I memorized one, the Repairing charm seemed pretty useful. Haven't got to use it yet though." He was proud of his accomplishment, sure it had taken about 3 days to even manage to cast it halfway right but in the end he had it down. He smiled and closed his eyes his photographic memory bringing up the very moment he managed to get the spell down. Nolan gave a nod as he took one last look at the gathering group. The other boy was right, and it didn't seem to exciting whatever it was. He'd still ask around to later to see what had happened. He sat down again across from Chandler, and at his words, he uncomfortably gripped his wand looking down in embarrassment. "Actually, I've tried a few, but couldn't quite get anything to work before my dad made me stop. We're not supposed to be doing magic outside of school, see?" He didn't mention that even after being reminded of this fact he had stayed up three nights trying unsuccessfully to unlock his own bedroom door. "Oh, that's good to know. But how would they find out haha, it's not like th--... Oh, magic." He busted out laughing at his own thinking and was probably a shade redder than before. Now that both boys had decided that the ruckus couldn't be reached Chandler decided to just set back and relax. It was a great day outside for a train ride and Chandler loved watching the scenery pass by. Castiel had decided that she wanted to explore the other boy and jumped across the compartment to paw and sniff at Nolan. Nolan chuckled with a nod. "Yep, and if they catch you, you can get in some real trouble. Even expelled if you do it too much. But they go easy on us before we actually start school. All the holidays though... don't think about it." He was caught off guard by the sudden interest the kitten showed in him. He gently pet Castiel, following Chandler's gaze out the window. I wonder how long it 'll be until we can see the castle grounds." Castile purred at the pets and figured she liked this other little human. She rubbed into his hand and would then turn and playfully attack it nibbling gently which turned into licks. Chandler smiled, "I think she likes you." He to was wondering when he would first see the place he would call home for the next seven years. It was a interesting thought, but his mind was currently taking in the scenery, analyzing and storing it. He smirked a bit more recalling his mum calling his brain a computer. "Nolan, thanks for talking with me and not ignoring me. If we're not in the same house, can we still be friends?" Chandler obviously knew nothing about the fact that they would undoubtably share classes at some point. Nolan couldn't help but smile at the kitten, even if he found its behavior weird. "Yeah she really does seem to..." He just wasn't used to cats. He then laughed at Chandler's question. "Of course! You're gonna need me to tell you about wizard culture. And I'm gonna need you to have someone around who won't just stare blankly when I talk about football. Yeah, we can still be friends." Smiling, Chandler pumped his head up and down, he did love football. It was one of the things he thought he was going to end up pursuing until he found out about his being magical. Castiel finished her exploration of Nolan and vaulted back across the compartment the begin cleaning herself ignoring the two humans. Chandler was excited he had made his first friend, and wondered if Harry Potter had felt this way when he was heading to school.

Compartment 2 (Tim stands in the doorway, confronting the first year students within. Dani, Pete and Pearle) Tall Tim crossed his arms. He looked over the kids in compartment 2, his eyes lingering upon the pretty-Pearle, her looping locks, and lips pressed tight in determination. Her companions were stone-quiet. ‘She’s so… small and polite, but she’s got grit.’ His lips curled into a smile. “Your all first years right? Anyone of you interested in joining Slytherin? Playing quidditch?” he shook his head. He ran his hand through his hair, his fingers trolling through the white-patch in his hair.

Compartment 3 (Wade stands in the doorway, confronting the first year students within. Rozie, Julius, Jake, Magnus, and Moirah.) Wade set his sights squarely on Rozilla. “Bullying? Hardly! We were asking you all nicely to move. That’s all. Welcome to Hogwarts, chumps, your place here has to be earned.” Wade cracked his knuckles around his wand. He shook his head. “Can you believe the entitlement complex of these kids today?” he asked this to no one imparticular. “Listen, if you get sorted into Slytherinand somehow manage to make it onto the quidditchteam, thenyou can hang out with us. Until then I’m doing you any favors or trying to explain the rules nicely. Scram.” Wade puffed his chest and deepened his scowl. He loved to be intimidating. He handled the hazing of first years as if it were his civic duty.

In the Hallway between the compartments. (Alaric confronts Zeva between compartments 3 and 4) Zevasaid nothing, and scowled at Alaric. Despite his younger years, he and Zeva were exactly the same height. She reacted to his threats quickly. She lurched forward and closed the distance between them in quick steps, giving the boy a hard shove into his chest. (Meanwhile Nathaniel stands looking toward the conflict between compartments 5 and 6 while Charlotte and Caelum peak out from compartment 5) Nathaniel looked back at the first year apprehensively. “Maybe I’ve judged the kid too harshly. Maybe he overheard that foul word in the station, didn’t knowwhat it meant.” He sighed deeply and pulled out his cards, shuffling them nervously. He noticed the two first years looking out from their compartment. There seemed to be an unusual number of first years in this particular car. It happened this way every year. By the second year everyone kept clear of the schools most territorial sports team. He looked toward the girls. “What do you think?” Then he drew a card from the deck, considering it deeply. Had he been talking to the girls or the deck? “Looks like we’re on our own for this one.”

Compartment 5 (Charlotte and Caelum dare to venture out.) Caelum peaked around the corner in curiosity. There was a tall blue haired upperclassman in the hall outside their door. He shuffled a deck of cards. Was that a strange thing to do? “I think... um... Let’s… get a closer look.” Caelum whispered to Charlotte. She was not brave enough to take the first step out, but was overwhelmed with curiosity. She had never seen a wizards argue before... perhaps there would be a fight...

“Your all first years right? Anyone of you interested in joining Slytherin? Playing quidditch?” Pearleane's tight fist uncurled, her fingers falling to her side. What was this guy trying to be friends now? The smile had thrown her off. Perhaps this was a test of some sort that the older years took pride in. Pearleane sat back down next to Dani, hoping they wouldn't have to move after all. "Yeah, we're first years." she said, confidently. She wanted to make it known that even though they were small, young, and pretty clueless to how everything worked- they weren't chumps that could be pushed around. "I'm not interested in either of those things, especially if you're going to be there." Pearleane sneered, the last part that was supposed to be just in her head- slipping out. Oops. She let out a laugh nervously, trying to cover up her words. Hopefully the kid wasn't too focused on her words and didn't hear her. "Maybe these two are interested though!" she looked to Peter and Dani for help, hoping that her new found friends would give her a hand on this.

"Great," Charlie whispered back, hopping out into the hallway, swaying a little with the movement of the train. As she approached, the first distinct thing she heard was a question. Whether or not the various first years wanted to be in whatever house, or play Quidditch. Charlotte didn't know much about the houses, but she had heard plenty about quidditch and it sounded like a blast. A ball game played flying on broomstick? Yes please! "I want to play quidditch!" She answered enthusiastically. "I'd give it a try, anyway!" She was oblivious to the fact that Caelum hadn't wanted attention drawn down the hallway toward them.

Despite Wade's attempt at looking threatening, Rozalia wasn't cowed in the slightest. She'd grown up around truly frightening and intimidating people; scarred and grim Aurors always stopped at the house following her Mother's death, to check up on the family; and her Father's Army friends were always visiting throughout the months. She'd grown used to being around trained and paid killers of both the Muggle and Wizarding world, so she wasn't the least bit frightened by a little boy who thought he was being scary. Standing up and facing Wade - well, she was around his mid-chest, so she wasn't really facing him, but whatever - her face appeared calm, but her eyes and hair told another story. Although not pissed off enough to go full fiery red, she-devil pigmentation, her anger was tickled enough to produce a warm, chestnut-y colour to emerge from the roots of her hair, easing their way down till the previously happy blonde colour was swallowed up at the tips of her curls. Roza's eyes were still her neutral brown, but within them, there was a look not to dissimilar from the infamous 1000-mile-stare. It gave off enough metaphorical fire to prove that she wasn't going to be a victim. Ever. "Listen up, buddy." She began, getting close enough to him to show she wasn't frightened by him. "I understand the whole ''new kid thing'' you've got going here - it's the same at any other school. First years are nobodies, right? But we're not going to be first-years forever, assbutt. And I'm already pissed off at you. So how about you 'scram', before I let my imagination run wild on ways to hurt you." Roza's voice was low and measured, the hint of a smirk on her face. "And trust me, I can hurt you. And I don't need a wand to do it, either. I can make you squeal like the little pig you look like and barely break a sweat to do it. So, if you want to stick around and continue messing with me and my friends here, don't say I didn't warn you. However, the safer option would be for you to round up your buddies, and get the hell out of Dodge." She stopped, finally, still retaining eye contact with Wade, who had broken out into a nervous sweat. He probably hadn't ever been spoken to like that in his entire life, let alone by a little girl first-year.

@Eyeris The young man watched, a little impressed by Rozie's little show. She seemed like real swell girl, all things considered. She'd probably be intimidating to most people. On the other hand, Julius was raised by an SAS officer who frequently had his war friends visit for shots, but he wasn't as intimidating or aggressive, so why was this information important? To emphasize why Julius wasn't exactly intimidated by Wade . . . And of course to explain his habit of trashtalking at a young age. Being around half-drunk men, you tend to pick up some things. "Go screw yourself! Roze's right, even if you get us now, we'll grow up eventually and make you regret it later! Heck, we can even let you regret it now if you're eager!" he shouted, shooting up to his feet. "Huffelpuff's the best house, your team blows, and you look like a snake got crawled up your ass and died in it! Go find another compartment you twat!" There was short pause, then he grinned. "Well, that asides, I'm Julius Hillshire. No hard feelings about that, yeah? I like your attitude, but this place is ours. First come first serve and all that. You could always join us later anyway." It was a mtter of fact that Julius only started trashtalking becaue Wade was trying to take their apartment and because he actually found it funny to do, so he liked to do it whenever he felt it was appropriate. Julius then promptly turned towards Moirah and the rest. "Now what were we talking about again?"

It took a lot to bother Jake. He was not scared by anyone or anything. He had two older brothers. They were had beaten his fearlessness into him. Course it did make him brash as all hell. He really did not care. He was more pusses about how they were bothering Roze. He had a thing against it. However Julius had no idea what he was saying. He was trashtalking in muggle and the snakes really. Yelling at them in muggle babble would only set them off. That and Jake got the feeling that Julius liked the snakes. Definitely not good. "Julius don't yell at them like a muggle. The dumb snakes over there won't be able to understand. They are too inbred to be very smart. It's the price for their precious purity. "He said grimly innocently at the team. "See I don't need to join your pathetic house. I've already got mine all down. Gryffindor is the place for me. Jake Masters. "He said looking at the team without any fear. "Also why not try and take it from us? I dare you to try. "He said not moving his attention from the older people.

"I'm not interested in either of those things, especially if you're going to be there." At that last remark, Peter noticed that Pearleane seemed to waver, with her letting out a nervous laugh. He could tell that she was worried about annoying the boy, as she turned to look at himself and Dani for assistance, with her stating that maybe they would like to take part in the boy's quidditch team. Honestly Peter couldn't see that happening for him. While he loved the sport, the last time he had ridden a broom truly hadn't gone well and he doubted that things would end up changing. Honestly, without meaning to be rude, he couldn't see Dani being one to be up for taking part, as she couldn't exactly carry that board up with her. Quidditch was a team sport after all! However Peter knew that he couldn't just leave Pearleane there defending them. Rising to his feet, he stood by her side, trying his best to be tall and look threatening. "Can't you just leave us alone?" He asked, his weak voice completely throwing off the mean exterior he was going for. "You can all easily squeeze into the next compartment! Cut us some slack, man!" By now he was sweating slightly, and seriously hoping that no one noticed!

Compartment 2 NPCs: Tim PCs:Dani, Pete, Pearle Tim narrowed his eyes a bit, peering closer at Pearle. If he heard Pearl's comment, he didn't say anything. Or rather, before he might responded a new and peppy presence caught his attention from outside. That was, of course, Charlotte. "I WANT TO PLAY QUIDDITCH!" Shouted Charlottefrom the hall. "There, That's the spirit!" Tim looked into the hall toward Charlotte with a wiry smile. To Peter he began to reply, his voice even and rather cordial. "Look, there is No reason that we can't---" A loud racket from Compartment 3 caused him to turn his attention away from with a deep frown. "Damn it Wade..." Compartment 3 NPCs: Wade PCs: Rozie, Julius, Jake, Magnus, Moirah Wade looked down at the first year, Rozie. Watching her hair turn the color of her mood. "Metamorphmagus? Am I supposed to be impressed that your a chameleon?" Is all he said with an uneasy chuckle, he wiped the sweat from his brow with a sweaty palm. That effort did him little good. Then the next to speak up was was Julius. "Huffle-puff? Please!" Wade chortled as Julius sat back down, as if to ignore the entire event. The third first year, Jake, didn't speak to Wade at first, but to Julius... "... Inbred..." Wade glowered. No one other student drew a wand faster than Wade of Slytherin house, the Alder-branch-wand was in his hand in the blink of an eye. "Caeni-Vespertilionis" Rozie was closest, her face even with Wade's chest. She received the first hex. There would be a flash and a fizz but no pain... at first. Rozie would feel her sinuses swell up. The goop inside her nose began to wiggle and grow. She had been struck with a Bat-Bogey curse. And nostrils filled with the flutter of bat wings. They would begin to crawl out of her nose and start to fly and dive around her head, attacking her face, particularly her eyes. Jake received the second hex. In the same breath that cursed Rozie he striuck out his wand toward Jake and uttered: "Lugulus-Eructo!" There was a stream of green light and Jake was struck by the slug vomiting hex. Jake would feel his stomach heave for a few moments, before the thick green slugs would begin to crawl up his esophagus. "DID YOU HEAR THAT?! THESE FUCKING FIRST YEARS ARE CALLING US INBRED!" Wade called out, his wand poised before him like a fencer might hold their saber. "FUCK THAT!" His call reached the ears of the entire train car. And rattled the sensibilities of all the Slytherin currently relaxing in compartment 1. You could hear them through the wall talking to one another: "What was that? What are they saying?" "Hell no!" "Blood traitors!" Compartment 1 began to stir with a mixture of outrage and curiosity that took hold of the Quidditch team. They wanted to see what was going on outside, and more importantly who needed to be paid back for their insult to their house and family honor. Moirah recoiled, pressing her back against the seat as the spells began to fly. "Th-th-they didn't mean it! Stop-s-s-S-s-s-s..." she shuddered, then her voice died in her throat as Wade set his hawkish eyes upon the penguin-like girl. In the Hallway between the compartments. NPCs: Zeva, Nathaniel PCs: Alaric, Charlotte, Caelum Zevapushed Alarica second time, sending him back just a few more inches. The ruckus in compartment 2 seemed to inflame her mood rather than distract her. Zeva would ignore Charlottefor the moment, allowing the girl to pass toward Tim or into any other compartment if she wished. In the hallway they could clearly hear Wade, his hexes, and his call to arms. They would see Slytherin and scowls emerging from compartment 1. Caelum was following Charlotte, but Nathanielreached out and grabbed her arm. He meant to grab both girls, but was only quick enough to catch one. "Stay out of here." He opened the door to compartment 6 and shoved the little fist year inside. He slammed the door in her face. "Colloportus" Nathaniel pointed his willow-wand at the door, locking it with a tight charm. Compartment 6 PCs: Chandler, Nolan, Caelum Caelumsaw the green light, heard the spells cast, her eyes wide as violence began to unfold before her. She couldn't get a good look at the damage done, for Nathanielquickly pushed her into compartment 6. She stood facing the door that Nathaniel had shut in her face. The hands that clutched her wand trembled slightly. She tried to open the door, but found it was stuck tight. Did the boy cast a spell on it? She turned, surprised to find she was locked in with two other boys. "I think... I think he locked us in with magic..." She took a few steps back from the door. She felt very uncomfortable being imprisoned with two strangers. It made her very anxious indeed, and the girl felt quite claustrophobic... in fact, she was very claustrophobic. She felt her heart rate begin to increase and her brow began to sweat as she realized that she was trapped in this compartment.

The way the older student reacted to their defiance, with a chuckle and a smile, lessened the anxiety that Dani had felt standing up to him with her friends. In fact, he seemed a little impressed with their bravado, asking them if they were hoping to become a part of Slytherin, which she recognized as the name of one of the four Houses, or join Quidditch, a term with which she was unfamiliar, though neither Pearleane nor Peter seemed to be confused by it. Pearleane crudely dismissed the boy’s question, stating that she wouldn’t be interested if he was there, the tone and directness of the statement a bit of a surprise to Dani, who was used to more tact being used. Still, she shook her head from side to side in response to his question. Peter, on the other hand, just ignored the question, imploring the older boy to leave and get a different, open compartment while someone from down the hall yelled that she would be interested in joining Quidditch. The boy seemed a little… exasperated with how the conversation was going, though his voice was still calm and even. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to express his thoughts before a commotion could be heard from the compartment across the hall. The boy seemed to know who was responsible, frowning and muttering something about someone named Wade. A couple flashes of light could be seen through the window before another boy’s voice as he shouted profanities concerning whomever was in that compartment. Seeing as how the boy in their compartment had the air of a leader, evidenced through his body language, Dani decided to take a shot and write a message to the boy on her whiteboard, erasing when she ran out of room before writing more of course. “Maybe you should try and stop him. I don’t think that the school would be happy with the Slytherin Quidditch team if whatever is going on over there doesn’t stop.” Hopefully, he would be able to stop the other boy before conflict spilled over into the car they were in.

At the very beginning, Julius had nothing against the Slytherin, Wade, in fact, he happened to find the whole thing fun. The problems began, however, the moment Jake opened his mouth.

". . . inbred . . ."

Julius had no idea what that meant, but judging from Wades' currently murderous expression it was probably one heck of an insult. Then Wade pulled out his wand and hexed Jake and Rozie.

Julius reevaluated 'one heck of an insult' to 'declaration of war'.

Over the panic and excitement of what was going on, Julius remained as cheerfully indifferent as ever, but the fun was done. Although the young man did think that he should leave Moriah alone, and that hex on Rozie was uncalled for. He stood up and stood in between of the older Slytherins wanx and Moriah.

"Hey, that was a bit overboard, don't you think? Rozie didn't deserve that hex. You started it, she replied, and that's all," he said, his eyes flitting between Wades face and wand, ready to react in a second. "And leave the penguin out of this. Aren't you the house of reputation and cunning? Do you really think this will do your House any good?"

Although he was calm, Julius in fact had no idea what he was saying and was obviously just firing off the first words that came into his head. He hoped it was enough.
