A CERTAIN CHAOTIC ACADEMY

Five years have passed since the trans dimensional conflict of Aleister Crowley had been put to an end. Few knew of these events and the handful of people who were caught in this collision are now living their lives in peace. Many have moved on, or have stayed to their roots. Kiyoshi is now a teacher, much like Kenobi five years ago. The conflict has been put to its end, but the darkness that surrounds Academy City hasn't diminished one bit. Even now, Aleister's plans go into action and those who work for him never stopped pursuing their dreams. In this new age, Kiyoshi will lead his students to a path like no other. Will this be their greatest achievement or their demise?

The rules of the universe. All high and mighty. No one can defy them, and all must obey. The dead cannot be brought back to life, the laws of physics, number 42, and of course, the rule about nothing is impossible. They said it was impossible to have Dual Skill, or even Multi-Skill. They said Hybrids cannot be produced. Well, they are going to be proved wrong, in this particular academy. An academy that not only achieves the impossible, but brings in trouble as well.

Many apply for Hybrid Academy, but only so many can actually get the application. You are here because you want to be in the so called 'best' academy in Academy City. You are here because everyone who came out of this Academy are, in some ways, different to how everyone else are, not just because many of them are Hybrids. You are here to quench your curiosity and explore the very depths of your own abilities. Ways to get into the academy are quite bizarre, as nothing guarantees your entry into Hybrid Academy. Just what is this academy, that does not follow any set guidelines to become a great learning institution? Well, if you want to know, apply to Hybrid Academy, "Where Chaos is the Norm."

From here, students will learn how to better control their ability, magic, or both. Our teachers here are of the best, possessing proficient skill in the art of teaching. We have espers that can teach the students how to use their ability safely and magicians who will instruct the ways of mana. We even have former students who graduated from our Hybrid program coming back to teach as well. You might ask, why should you enrol into this academy. Well, do days off sound nice to you? Yes, we celebrate all holidays and such, ranging from two weeks for Hanami to Tanabata. Not only that, we have plenty of field trips, funded from the magic and science sides. The characters in this role play are basically split into the three classes: Normalish, Espers, and Magicians. All three have their own set of perks, but the objective is to get them to the Hybrid class. If you do not want to, you do not have to aim for the Hybrid class, but it generally holds a lot of perks. Upon completion on the sheet, I'll wait a sum of hours, 'bout a day before accepting the sheet. During that time, you are free to change whatever you see fit. Once I formally accept it, you are not to make any more edits, unless you get direct permission from me. Make sure you fill in the reason for the edit part. If there are problems with the character sheet before I formally accept it, I will tell you.

There is another character sheet for the CC. The reason for that is because sheets in the CCTis in the Bank, an IC object. For that reason, information in the CC should all be IC.

Magic and Esper Abilities

The differences between the two sects

Long story short, Magic is magic and Abilities are character specific. I'd give you a long explanation of what they are, but you'll probably sleep on me. In the spoiler is the explanation that I used to have for this section.



Way too long for something so simple, so check the summary. If you want to use magic, think of something that isn't game breaking. If an Esper Ability, pick and choose from the preset powers.

Magicians and Espers

Why must they band two polars together?

The relationship between Magician and Espers are... well... you know, like oil and water. Though the Magicians and Espers are in mutual agreement, a lot of the times the two despise each other. Most of the Chaos is caused because of this relationship between the two sects. Would the students in classroom EX-01A ever become true friends?

Which Class Should I Choose?

[h2]There are five classes: Normalish, Esper, Gemstone, Magician, and Hybrid. From the start, students are one of the first four, as one must earn their way to becoming a Hybrid. Each have their own perks, but also their own disadvantages.

The Espers



For those who want to learn magic, it is but a road full of pain. Only under the Generators of Hybrid Academy is one able to use magic without facing the side effects. The stronger and more complicated the spell, the greater the risks of death/injury. Furthermore, Hybrid Academy only teaches elemental magic, being a safe and easy form of magic to teach. If one wants to learn different forms of magic or spells, one must either be an established Hybrid or resort to self-study, provided they have the resources anyway.

Espers are also, frankly speaking, horrible in fighting. They have no experience in martial arts or real battles, for they focus learning how to wield their ability instead of training their bodies. Hybrid Academy have great martial artist instructors and fitness teachers, but it is still up to the Esper to be able to learn the basics. Finally, Espers are the ones who are most effected by technology that stops Espers. An AIM field may stop a magician from using magic safely, but it doesn't restrict their movements or concentration. Capacity Down and AIM Jammers not only restrict an Espers ability, it also restricts their movements and concentration. A powerful Esper like Misaka Mikoto had been brought to her knees when Capacity Down was in effect. If you do not want to have just one ability and be limited in such situations, go for another class.

Types of Characters

Beware the teachers...
Student: Most of the characters will be this. They will choose one of the preset powers, unless their custom power has been allowed. There is a limit of around 2-3 students allowed per person (exceptions allowed), but I rather you make one character that you can control freely over multiple ones that will harm individual character development. Please refrain from making them part of the same family or extremely close (ones that you make, not with other people). I will ask for you to remove of some of the characters when that happens.

[Unavailable] Teacher: Most or all the teachers are more powerful than student characters. They will be semi-active and will not be allowed to participate in many battles. They are generally unrestrained in the development of their powers, but the more powerful they are, the less likely they are allowed to participate in battles. They will guide and teach the students new techniques, while many will be connected to certain events. The SiCs or I will probably hold most of the teacher type characters.

[Unavailable] Antagonist: Will also be powerful, depending on the type. Returning characters should be weak in the start so there will be room for improvement. Keep in mind that I used the word antagonist instead of villain or bad guy. PM me regarding this.

NPC: Like the name says, these characters are NPCs. You may create as many as needed and interact with them all you want, but please do not go overboard. NPCs could be other students, teachers, and Hybrids. Most of the antagonists would probably be NPCs controlled by me. As well, if someone made/has control of a NPC, it is better not to control them yourself, as it can cause confusion when being used back and forth.

Other: There probably won't be a lot of characters that fall into this category. Depending on what you want, you might be able to make this type of character. The first four should cover most of the characters you want though.

Hybrid Academy

Chaos everywhere!

This is the school where most events will take place and ultimately where most students are in, if not all. The school has gotten a reputation for being 'chaotic', so it gained a nickname, Chaos Academy. A lot of the chaos is caused by fights between Esper and Magician. Within the so called chaos are very capable instructors and teachers, some of which were graduates of Hybrid Academy, so in a sense you could say it is all 'controlled chaos'. Another reputation the school got was the fact that it has raised many high level espers. Will the students be able to climb that high without being crippled? Let us find out.

Cuz I can't draw, there isn't an official picture for Hybrid Academy, so I'll resort to something from the web and use words for the rest -_-"



In the picture is the main building, which has four floors. Only the top three are accessed though. One would find Homeroom EX-01A in the second floor. The main entrance leads to the second floor (ground floor), with side entrances at the third floor. The third floor is partially underground, with the underground portion 'seen' in the picture. There are no entrances/exits at the first floor (top floor). On paper, the school roof is restricted, but no one ever checks if students are on the roof anyway. The shape of the school is close to a hollow square, because there is a small garden in the centre that the school uses to grow plants for food.

Say the main building is in the 'centre' and the façade (front of the building) is pointing north. The student dorms would be to the east of the school and parking lot somewhere in the proximity of the main building and dorms.

The dorm building has three floors, but most students live in the top and middle floors. Entrances to the building are located in the bottom floor. The bottom floor has a bathhouse, but it is only big enough to have a 'family' section, not men and women only sections. Thankfully, there are separate changing rooms for the two sexes. Generally, there are set times for when the different sexes take a bath. "Ladies first". Other notable parts of the bottom floor include a living room, small kitchen (nowhere close to the size of the main building cafeteria), and the Dorm Supervisor's room. As that room is located near the main entrance, students trying to sneak in would get caught (in other words, be mindful of your curfew and do not count on the side entrances...).

A field of sakura trees and a garden (no foodstuffs) can be found in between the dorms and the school, which is big enough for everyone in Hybrid Academy to be in without overcrowding. Students caught vandalizing this area face dire consequences.

To the south of the school is the school yard and field. It is where many students go during break time, since getting permission for fights here is not your greatest concern. Flying robots and modified Security robots are found roaming about. One can attain permission by approaching the robots and inputting the necessary information and perimeters of the combat session.

Finally, to the west of the school is the second school building, which houses a bigger gym, auditorium and swimming pool. The gym occupies the better part of the building, and is so big that it requires five dividers (six sections, with each section matching the size of the gym in the main building). The ceiling of the gym is partially made of durable glass, which allows light to stream through without the fragility of regular glass. The auditorium has an outdoor portion to it, which is often used during warm, sunny days. The swimming pool has retractable roofs, with most of the remaining walls made of glass.

Hybrid Academy Facilities

All facilities are located in the main building unless stated otherwise.

Anti-Gravity Rooms: Situated close to the gyms. Open for use only when a teacher is supervising.
Auditorium: Located in the east building. The facility for theatre, official ceremonies, and assemblies.
Cafeteria: The Chef is always there... Ready to cook up the best meals for the students and teachers at Hybrid Academy. Requests are taken as long as you provide the ingredients.
Classrooms: Unlike ordinary Classrooms, these are equipped with Generators that allows AIM and Mana to clash against each other without harm. Most have WiFi connections.
Clinic: This might be needed FREQUENTLY
Club Rooms: They need this... to have some...."Quality Time" (Most club rooms are just classrooms after school)
Dormitory Garden: In between the main building and the dormitory. Is the area where the sakura fields and garden are located. A relaxing stretch of land perfect for naps and photography.
Faculty Lounge (Teacher Lounge): Well... Teachers need to relax as well
Gym Hall: Like most of the school, This place has those special Generators and is also fully furnished with equipment for the athletic types. Walls are padded to ensure they do not get destroyed in the process.
Judgement Office: Where Judgement situated in Hybrid Academy go to
Library: BIG ENOUGH to cater to whatever anyone wants to find... also has WiFi connectivity
Power Generators: In heart of the School. Restricted access. Basically the 'brains' behind the Generators that govern the school.
Second Gym Hall: Located in the east building. is just like the school Gym Hall, but much larger.
School Garden: Full of tasty fruits , vegetables, herbs, and dangerous peppers.
School Yard: Equipped with the same Generators as the classroom's and thus also free from the dreadful effects of Mana and AIM
Student Lounge: Packed full of recreational related stuff, a Wide screen LED TV (Which gonna be replaced again and again), a Fridge for snacks, even WiFi connection... and one Big Comfy Couch
Testing Centre: A place where Abilities and Magic are tested of their potency and practicality.
Student Council Office: Some rather boring and political stuff happens here... Pity the people who gets to stay here
Student Lockers: Hall of Shoe Lockers. For storage of student stuff, shoes, coats, love letters, etc. Located at the front entrance.

Factions

One is bad enough, but a group?...
In Academy City, there are many groups, factions, organizations, etc. Some are big, like SCHOOL and GROUP. Others not as much, like one Misaka tried making in the manga. You may make one yourself, but they must not be some overly powerful group if it is for a student character (at least, not in the start). The groups that have students in them are typically just groupies that share a common interest of some sort, be it their powers or interests.

Generator Mark 1.0 Series
The Predecessor
This line of Generators allows Espers to use magic by being able to safely mix AIM and magic together without the ill effects. The Mark 1 Generators were the first of its kind to ever allow something like this to happen, with the technology being used in it taken from a certain person that could do this herself. These Generators are now kept under store, ever since the Mark 2 Generators were created.

Generator Mark 2.0 Series
The Successor
The current running Generators in Hybrid Academy. Mark 2.0 provides the same outcomes, but with different methods to achieving it. These Generators separate AIM and magic, instead of safely mixing them. With this modification, Mark 2.0 is much superior, as the risks of injury/death becomes lower. It is still recommended that Espers be careful when trying to use magic, as the risks are still up there. The greater the amount of mana one tries to use, the greater the risk of things going wrong.

Planning for the future
These Generators are currently in their alpha testing phases, so details cannot be released. What we can say is that compared to the first 2 Generators, 2.5 shows greater potential of being used globally.

POWER UP SYSTEM

We've watched a lot of shounen anime and whatnot, I will be very strict with power ups and I will see it fit to those deserving with the power ups. It is only matter of performance on the RP itself. Development people not just character development.

Gemstone:

Pros:
- Most powerful characters in the start
- Need not work to increase their capabilities since birth
- Greater AIM advantages

- Greater AIM disadvantages
- Capped to only Level 4
- Learning magic is even more challenging compared to Espers

Magician:

Pros:
- Can choose from a wide variety of magic sects
- Can use high level spells, unlike Espers and Hybrids-to-be
- Healing magic
Cons:
- Affected by AIM fields; can cause serious injury when invoking magic in them
- Will have their magic forever hindered upon arrival to their Esper Ability
- Hybrid program not designed for them

First and most imminent, an escaped test subject called J-34K has been killing people in the vicinity. Kae is attempting to recruit students to fight this murderer. J-34K seems to have some connection to Eita and Anderson.
The second has to do with an unknown gang by the name of Akura. They seem to be a Skill-out kind of gang, but are being used by someone in the shadows. Could somehow be connected to the J-34K incident?

Biography: As one of the lucky few to live in Academy City most of his life, Satou Wataru has attended school here since he was a child. He never really stood out much, coasting along comfortably intul the end of middle school where he finally mustered the will to do something with himself. Opting to join Judegment at 14, Wataru spent the next year undergoing the ruthless training regime suffered by all new recruits. By the end of it his confidence had grown immensely, even if his nature as a social satellite had not.

He settled in well with his new co-workers in Judgement's Hybrid Academy branch, earning himself a valued place as an informant and tracker. While his record of arrests was relatively low, his assistance was often a decisive factor when dealing with a delinquent with a strong combat ability. While he had a few good friends within Judgement that he trusted implicitly, Wataru hadn't made much headway with his classmates; something he planned to address in the coming weeks.

Personality: Gentle, relaxed, quiet. While many enjoy the limelight and being the centre of attention, Wataru prefers life on the outskirts of the social group, close enough to join in but distant enough to not be noticed. Despite this, he isn't of a nervous disposition or unsure of himself; he simply enjoys a quiet life without the petty bickering so common among people his age. Wataru's sense of humour is somewhat snide at times, but he generally acts with the best of intentions if not the best of results.

Extras: Because his ability is of limited use in combat, Wataru has learnt to be proficient in other weapons to carry out his role with Judgement. His is pretty handy with a wooden cosh and always keeps a taser on his person.

Biography:

There isn't a lot to say about Tsumiki's past. He was born blind, but never showed any trouble moving around. When he was old enough, he would tell people that he wasn't blind, his eyes just didn't work. It didn't take long for people to figure out he was an Esper, and send him off to Academy City. There he was tested and trained, eventually selected to learn at Hybrid Academy.

During the five years between arriving at Academy City and enrolling in school, he joined Judgement to help fulfill his sense of duty. He's been in several close calls, dangerous chases and fights, but those are details for another time.

He can also cook extremely well, but rarely does it.

Not 100%, but I think micro espers work via personal reality, i.e. the reality they make for themselves through which their abilities manifest... or something. Whereas macro uses technology to boost abilities, stuff like suits of armour or (I think) Accelerator's Misaka clone box thing.

Biography: Ray was born in Japan. His mother was actually Chinese, and his father was Japanese. He unfortunately, never really had a child hood. So his father suggested he join Judgement, that way he would associate with other people. To many people he may be abnormal, but he has been able to make some friends in this group.

Magic: Ray is a Magician that specializes in Wind Magic. Ray usually utilizes his magic in conjunction with his martial arts. His gloves are yellow so he is able to use his wind magic through them. He also utilized spiked brace knuckles in his fights, but rarely does.

Biography:
Born to an American gang leader and a Yakuza princess, Anderson’s life has but full of crime and sin since he was born. Raised in Las Vegas for the first half of his life, he has learned how to gamble and cheat like it’s the back of his hand. At the age of eight, his father was killed in a street fight against a rival gang and Anderson was smuggled away to Japan where he was to live with his mother.

Although she is a tough Yakuza princess whose beauty betrays her intentions, she is very motherly towards Anderson and very supportive in his goals. She taught him how to fight and how to shoot a gun amongst other skills like coercion. When Anderson started to build his own criminal empire, his mother granted him a pocket watch that was actually a magical device, making become a magician in a way.

Anderson has recently transferred into Academy City for two reasons: 1)to make money off of the naïve students of the city and 2) to grow his criminal empire. He cannot be touched by Judgement and Anti-Skill after he successfully blackmailed the heads of each organization, much to the annoyance of the law enforcement. Although he is leader of a criminal gang, his actions are fairly tame considering the actions of other gangs, mostly staying in the realm of blackmail, information dealing and fraud.

Personality: While acting antagonistic, Anderson is a good person at heart, always making sure his gang’s member are happy, he does legitimately care for even the people around him as long as they are not openly hostile although he will often cover up his kindness with some dark excuse. He is incredibly charismatic and gladly exploits it to his advantage in gaining people’s trust. He also tends to be secretive, always having an ulterior motive that no one can quite pick out and headstrong/cocky as if he controls the world (which in some aspects he does).

Magic: Time Slow: The power that is embedded in the pocketwatch he got from his mother; the world moves to the beat of Anderson, allowing him to move at normal speed while everything else is slowed, giving the impression he is moving faster. It can only be to slow a maximum of thirty minutes a day and rests at midnight. Dispute its potency, Anderson tends not to use this very often in favor of more traditional “methods”.

- His name in Japanese can either mean "Money" or "Live Ammunition", fitting considering his line of work.
- His weapons of choice are a Beretta Raffica and a butterfly knife with a combat knife-styled blade
- The name of the gang he leads is “Coercion” and it deals in information trading and its large informant network. Anderson claims he has agents everywhere, even in Judgement and Anti-Skill but as no one has proven it. Either that or his agents are really just as good as he claims.
- He is noted to be both an excessive gambler and really lucky, so he wins nearly all his bets.
