Background: Born in New Springs California, James was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Moorcroft members of the federation themselves which gave James the knowledge and desire to follow his parents footsteps. His parents didn’t push him towards Starfleet, in fact they tried to push him in other directions but he persisted in joining Starfleet. His academic venture wasn’t all that impressive as far as action like some flamboyant officers but it was filled with personal goal achievements which gave him the wanting urge to become one of Starfleet’s best officers. His four years in the academy was probably the most intellectual and rewarding time in his life.
James first assignment was aboard the Constellation class Bosmere as the first officer. His Captain, Chris Shane took him under his wing and showed him the in and outs of being a starfleet officer. Not only was Capt Shane is commanding office but became a very close friend. Many nights were filled with poker and chess matches that he lost more than won but it was the challenge that excited him.
The day that James will never forget was the day that they encountered the rogue Romulan ship Shizmer as it was attempting to strike the Federation outpost 23. This was the day that he lost not only his ship due to extreme damage but lost his captain as well. The battle was won under the command of James but in his eyes the federation lost that day.
His next assignment took him to the Romulan Border sector command starbase 241 where he command the Cheyenne Class heavy cruiser. His time on this ship was his most peaceful of his duties, however, being on the Romulan border brought past memories back to him in which brought a hardship upon the crew for he was always running drills preparing for a Romulan attack. The crew learned to respect these drills for there were a few stand off encounters with the Romulans, but due to his strong cunning and refusal to back down they ended with the Romulan pulling back.
With the Dominion war occurring James was reassigned to the Majestic Class battle cruiser Darkstar. A time that he wanted to forget. Many lives were lost in this war. His skill and the skill of his crew barely escaped with their lives. The constant battle and loss of life almost broke James, but thanks to some dear friends and strong consoling he managed to keep his wits about him. Now after twelve years commanding the Darkstar he is once again reassigned to a new ship. The Artemis
Chev, I am setting up my (Klingon) character as an Enlisted assistant to your Ensign Korvel. He is a Chief Petty Officer. This would be a similar rank to that of Chief O'brien on ST:NG and DS9.

THAT ought to be an interesting working relationship: a JO and a senior NCO.

That is normal! :) I spent 21 years in the US Army, retiring as a Captain. When I was a 23 year old 2nd Lieutenant, I had a 37 year old Sergeant First Class as my platoon sergeant.
Let's see how a pair of Klingon warriors work it out.
Mok'Rogak stands 77" tall and weighs 275 Lbs. He has several scars about his head and body from years of fighting for the Klingon Defense Force or training with weapons, primarily the Bat'leth. Mok'Rogak walks with a decided swagger, acquired from confidence and pride in his own abilities as a seasoned warrior.
- Exceptional shot with a rifle/carbine, experienced - Skilled and trained in most melee weapons, prefers the Bat'leth. He won two Bat'leth Competitions; Champion Standing. - Is skilled in Close Quarters fighting aboard ship including small unit tactics, breaching and boarding techniques - Skilled and trained in martial arts; a fearsome warrior. - Trained in Star Fleet Security Operations.
2365 Entered service in 2365 - Recruited into Klingon Defense Force at age 17. 2365 Completed both initial and advanced combat training as a Klingon Marine in the Klingon Defense Force (KDF) and was assigned to the IKS Pagh, Klingon Bird of Prey 2368 Klingon Civil War. IKS Pagh sided with the House of Gowron. Mok'Rogak, aboard the IKS Pagh engages in combat with Duros supporters at the Battle of Mempa under the leadership of General Martok. 2373 The IKS Pagh was assigned to the Klingon Task Force that saw action at Torros III. Bekk Mok Rogak was present for this action following the outbreak of the Dominion Wars. 2375 Participated in the Monac Shipyard raid. During the attack, most of Mok'Rogak's squad were killed. There were only three survivors, but all were injured. Mok'Rogak was promoted to Sergeant following this action. 2375 Mok'Rogak, recovered from his injuries and was assigned to the Kov'el which was soon destroyed at the Battle of Chin'toka. He was rescued by a Federation Starship along with several other Klingon Warriors. 2375 Re-assigned to the Negh'Var-class Starship Navik and saw limited action on Cardassia. 2376 Joined Starfleet as an enlisted man, completed tactical combat training and security operations. His experience with the KDF was taken into consideration and received fast track promotions, entering service as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. 2377 Assigned as Security aboard the USS Hood 2378 Promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class. 2379 Assigned to Star Fleet Battle Group Omega in an attempt to counter the Romulan Warbird, Scimitar. 2380 Promoted to Petty Officer 1st Class. 2381 Promoted to Chief Petty Officer 2382 Assigned as Security Chief aboard the USS Artemis as Enlisted assistant to Ensign Korvel.
Background: Chief Mok'Rogak was born on Qo'noS (Kronos) to a family of Klingon warriors in 2348. It was his destiny to serve the Klingon warrior as such. No one in the family ever had the mental capacity serve as an officer; a long line of warriors. When not learning basic educational skills in school, Mok'Rogak learned the ways of the Warrior. He excelled at the Bat'leth, hand to hand combat and enjoyed target practice with the rifle.
When Mok'Rogak was old enough, he enlisted in the Klingon Defense Force as a Marine. Upon completion of Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Combat Training as a Marine, he was assigned to the IKS Pagh serving under Captain Kargon. He saw his first human when Commander William Riker entered an exchange program, serving as First Officer briefly in 2365. This experience with Commander Riker taught Mok'Rogak respect for the humans. He knew much of the rumors circulating about Federation crew and officers were false. They were competent warriors. Respect.
In 2368 during the Klingon Civil War, the IKS Pagh saw action at the Battle of Mempa. During a boarding operation, Mok'Rogak killed a Duras supporter, which he celebrated as his first kill in battle. It was a glorious moment for the 20-year old Klingon Bekk Warrior. This event strengthened his confidence, pride and arrogance. He had finally become a true Warrior. His mother and father were proud of him.
Between 2369 and 2372, Mok'Rogak made an annual pilgrimage to the Bat'Leth competitions. This was a weapon he had been training with for all of his childhood and he carried this training into his adulthood. In two of those four years, he won first place, receiving the coveted Standing Champion award. He displays these in his quarters on every assignment, inlcuding today in Starfleet. Most non-Klingons have no idea what they are. They appear as artful decorations. It was during this time, the Pagh spent time at Deep Space: 9, Bekk Mok'Rogak learned earth language.
2369 Competed in Bat'Leth competition and walked away with Standing Champion award. 2370 Competed in Bat'Leth competition and received severe laceration to chest and was knocked unconscious. 2371 Competed in Bat'Leth competition and walked away with Standing Champion award. 2372 Competed in Bat'Leth competition and received lacerations to both thighs, lost a finder from his left hand, a contusion to the skull and consciousness.
While assigned to the IKS Pagh Mok'Rogak saw action on Torros III. He participated in several boarding party operations with the Jem'Hadar. Mok'Rogak increased his body count severely during these campaigns. He even had the opportunity to participate in several small unit actions on the surface.
During the Monac Shipyard raids, Mok'Rogak's Marine squad came under heavy fire. They were seriously outnumbered, overwhelmed by the Jem'Hadar. The enemy laid siege to the Klingon position for 37 hours. When the fighting had ended, only three of the original 35 Klingons remained alive. Mok'Rogak was one of them. No fewer than 350 Jem'Hadar bodies were scattered about the Klingon position. Mok'Rogak was revered as a Hero of the Empire and promoted to Sergeant. He was badly injured, spending a few months recovering in a hospital.
When he recovered from his injuries, he was assigned to the IKS Kov'el, a Vor'cha class warship. This is where met Bekk Korvel, a young newly minted Marine. He had no impression of her yet, but would remember her years later. Mok'Rogak was with the Kov'el only a brief time, when it was destroyed during combat actions near Cardassia prime.
He was re-assigned to the Negh'Var-class Starship Navik and saw limited action on the surface of Cardassia. The conflict was concluded prior to their engagement with the enemy. Mok'Rogak's unit was returned to the Navik unbloodied and frustrated. Sergeant Mok'Rogak's temper got the better of him after not fighting on Cardassia and he was involuntarily discharged from the KDF with a loss of honor.
Not long after this and remembering his encounters with Starfleet, he sought out enlistment there. Since he understood the language, he recalled his experience with Commander Riker aboard the Pagh. He assumed all humans were equally warriors. He was in for a rude awakening.
In 2376 while in Star Fleet training he resolved to restrain his normal Klingon impulses and observe the human way of doing things. He adapted, learning their customs quickly. He even learned patience and understanding, which were contrary to his more aggressive emotional impulses.
In 2382, when Chief Mok'Rogak was assigned as Security Chief aboard the USS Artemis and met Ensign Korvel, it wouldn't be until after they'd had a conversation they recalled their earlier encounter aboard the IKS Kov'el. Mok'Rogak would not recognize her until after she brought the subject up. It was seven years ago and far from the Klingon Chief's memory.
I really wanted to play a Klingon this time, but I am holding onto a second character, Lieutenant Nick Harman of earth. Ruby, do you have an issue with multiple characters? I don't know if we have ever RP'd before? Maybe with HeySeuss years ago?
To put a bit of meat on the bones of my last post, I just can't see the point of developing a CMO when there's already a fully qualified medical doctor on board.
There's a few other misgivings I have about her, but those I can deal with.

Understand the misgivings. She's OP, but she's Section 31. So...naturally OP. Also she's a GM storytelling tool. And after that you'll just have to trust me as a GM. If it helps, I'm not shabby at it.
She's not a Starfleet doctor. Let alone a CMO. Lacks creditionals and training; both big deals. You'll not lose any kinda scenes or expertise to her.

I remember, excited to play together again. Fun doing this game with another Vet.

Yes we did. lol
No issue, but let's wait until we get going before a second character.
Well I certainly could have used google, but I was wondering if I had to mention their favorite foods or something. To be honest that was a really dumb question, I was hoping to come back and edit it before anybody saw, I even edited this.
