  • In the context of writing in a different language, is it appropriate to use it in its native alphabet, with the optional requirements of providing pronunciation [and/or] a translation, or should it be written english?


Example:
  • Native Alphabet: ごきげんよう

Or
  • English Pronunciation: Gokigen'yō

The direct translation was an optional thing, it's not required, nor is it shunned (Unless somebody has an issue with either).

Ahh, well then yeah, I much prefer Native Alphabet. I really like this stylistic trope I've been using more often of simply having characters speak languages that few/no one understands, I try and use it, not express what the character is saying/thinking... But like, the significance of the lack of understanding surrounding the character speaking.

Like, Lucania speaks Italian to low level Castalia goons because she sees herself SO MUCH better than them, that she doesn't even dignify them by addressing them in the 'common tongue,' what she was saying wasn't important, and in fact I think NOT getting what she's saying is the whole point I was trying to make. Same with her randomly slipping into Japanese/Aqueon.

EDIT: In regards to latest post; That sick foreshadowing, tho, I thought the dreams were just metaphorical or something

Very nice post, Aeon.

But, I feel the need to mention that C-4 can not be ignited via a flame, it'll just burn. What's needed is a combination of extreme heat and a shockwave (i.e. a blasting cap). And also, I think you missed a "1" in the ammunition for the SCAR, a 7.62x5mm round would be little more than a giant BB gun. The 7.62x51mm however, is much nastier.

Just a little commentary from the local weapons nut.

We have monsters raging across the land and I can't have a C-4 ignitable by fire? It's not C-4 Plastic Explosive. It's C-4 Fantasy Putty.
