LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Frank Bucket walked into the serving area of the Pelican dropping the gate leaf behind himself. Only one dim light shone in the cavernous public room as he pulled down an old an worn leather apron and tied it around his waist after ducking into the neck loop.
He rolled up his sleeves using garters to hold them up then drew his wand and activated the magic lanterns. Then he began putting away all the pints that were left to dry as in the kitchen two house elves started up the morning's breakfast for the residence and hungry traveler.
Down the stairs bounded the odd American Witch Mis Hawkmoon dressed in her strange muggle running shoes and outfit.
"Morning Frank be back in an hour" she says in her accented but musical voice.
Frank looks up an chuckles waving goodbye to his best paying customer and resident. She was a queer bird to be sure but she was in his most luxurious suite complete with private bath and loo. Her choice in drink was top shelf though never in excess and as provocatively as she sometimes dressed she was every bit a young woman of breeding.
It was as he was coaxing the old chairs off the table tops when Mister Mystique walked quitely into the room and took a stool at the bar.
Frank like Henri and truly loved how the dapper young wizard entertained the ladies young and old. Watching the young Duelist demonstrate his talent with the fairer sex had become something of a pastime for Frank and his regulars. Most amazing of all was that even though Henri lacked all but meager means he walked with the cream of witches as easy as he did with those girls of equal means as his..
At first Frank had worried that Henri was a gigolo and was thinking of rejecting him to prevent a scandal at his Inn but then he'd seen him return an expensive gift. Later Frank had discovered that Henri wasn't here for money for he was quite set and frugal having saved his money to start his own Duello studio.
Morning Henri says Frank setting down a cup of Turkish Coffee before his young friend.
"Ah, Bonjour mon ami, to your health answers Frank lifting the scalding bitter sweet drink to his lips.
When Henri first appeared in the Pelican Frank had mistaken him for French when he was in fact Cajun from New Orleans. Henri held up three fingers for Soltz one of the Inn's elves to see indicating what he wanted for Breakfast.
