Oh no. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I am getting 'some vibes here'. The "Actually do to points made to me by people I shall not name, I am actually very wary of you Wernher." bit actually got me to roll my eyes a bit actually. I guess I just like it when people tell me the why of things rather than say it's pretty much ok one post and then say that I have to redo the entire thing the next.

Or perhaps some people actually did have concerns about your nation, and rather than cause a scene in OOC, brought it up with Duck personally. To be fair, they would be well within their rights to, as I did have some concerns myself, but chose to keep them to myself and look to smoothing things over with history.

That is fine and dandy, but again, I can hardly correct my mistakes of I am not told of them. I am also someone who's been on this site since 2008 and I've been in pretty much the first NRPs on this site, so I can notice when people think someone is a powergaming douche. What I want to know is:

1: Am I so stained that I am no longer welcome. (A single person saying yes about this will get me to leave without looking back or arguing.)

2: Is this going to be one of those game where everyone is overly friendly with everyone in-game? Because what I am isn't a powergaming douche but someone that would like an epic tale even if that means an epic downfall (Especially so actually). I'm not here to win (Because if I can tell you something is that wanting to win in a NRP is so counter productive it's ridiculous). If you don't want war, betrayal, careful diplomacy and an all around bad guy outright trying to bully people because it has a stronger army then again tell me, because I'll find this a really boring game.

Again, I don't want to insult anyone or their taste in roleplays, it's just that I don't really want to wait around to myself in something I don't want to be in and then quit, because then you'd lose a player mid game and I'd lose my time. I'm your nazi germany and I'll follow you to the gates of moscow to then have my last hopes crushed in a magnificent counter attack and so forth.

Again, please don't think I'm a dick, because that's generally what people think when they read that, it's just how I like my games. If you don't and want to enjoy a quiet slice of life NRP, then begone I shall and I do hope we can shake hands and part ways in pleasant terms.

I don't mind, as I'm sure most players didn't, that you're portraying France as a superpower, as you did add that they have weaknesses. Also, your reasoning of giving the world a common enemy is quite acceptable, as I was feeling I'd have to start some diplomatic drama my self just to get things to become a little more action packed. It is just starting out, however.

And mainly saying that you crushed their nations in your history without talking to them first by PMing them and collaborating on a back story between the two Nations.

But, by all means, if you want to throw an all powerful France into the mix, bring it. The Germans will storm Paris and rip the hypocritical French "leaders" from their soft beds and crush their "liberty" beneath their German boot.

Well, you see, I think 'Invincible Switzerland' is a... redundant theme, redundant as in it comes up very often in RPs. I kind of hate it the idea of it. Not so much hate it as find it boring and in a way, more abusive than me wanting to have the means to back my status as a nemesis of the world because my thing implies situational power at the time, while being uninvadable implies... quasi invincibility.

And I'd like to state how I didn't ask the Netherland player because he stated in his history they hated France for the whole revolution business and that I assumed that germany would have behaved pretty much like it did historically (Take a beating, get up, get pummeled again, get up, get pummeled and get up again.) and add into the mix that german unification would have proceeded while France was in turmoil (I don't mean this as to belittle germany, but to justify France still being ridiculously overconfident). The thing is that Austria just being a neutral rock in Europe is... something I have difficulty warping my head around. But still, Alf seems resonable, I'm sure we could work things out.

If you two are going to continue the conversation I would recommend doing it in OOC because there is a rule against argueing and I know from experience that the GM enforces that rule pretty strictly... please dont hurt me.

Only abit of clarification. You said you cotrolled north west africa. Do you mean what the French had before or after the 1880 coference of Berlin?

Besides that I think everything has already been said and I dont want to be dragged down an arguement... as I have a tendency of doing :P

Otherwise well... Any particularity about history? Only thing I'd have to consider with you would be french in belgium but that's it.

...I am really at a loss as for what to do about the whole situation. For now I am going to step back and see what happens. I need more time to decide because in my current state I am not confident I could make a good decision.

Historically the Low Countries used to be occupied during Napoleon's reign untill his defeat at Leipzig. So as you can imagine they didnt like that.

1: At no point was the discussion between myself and Wehrner an argument. In fact, it was rather civil and we were coming to an amenable solution to an issue that came about purely by mistake.

2: Taniel literally had one post in the discussion, and the very first words were "Let's not let this get heated."

They have been revoked. I have been quite tired so as I said I may not be in the best state to make decisions.

Speaking of, I've got some plans in the works to get another post up in response to those who have either sent diplomats, or mentioned one or both of the dual-monarchy. So, get-hype :O

Wow... the monarchs are going to have a busy schedule with just turning down diplomats :P
In this timeperiod the European monarchs didnt meet personally with the diplomats of other countries anymore, they had a minister of foreign affairs for that. The only way to talk to a monarch as a foreigner was to be invited by them. Some countries were even so strict with this rule that the palace guards were ordered to shoot to kill... Ever fooled around at Buckingham Palace? Then you know what I am talking about.

Suggesting that the monarch would make time for you was rather rediculous because it would mean that you could make demands of a monarch and could get you kicled out of the country in Russia or Austria. Monarchs would only talk about diplomacy with their ministers, not the foreign diplomat. The only exception to this rule was if another monarch/president came to the country on a state visit which was agreed upon before hand by the hosting monarch.

That being said, this is ofcourse not a simulation of the 19th century, last time I checked we didnt have mechs in that century. But I just thought that it might add abit more realism if the monarchs are actually treated as such and not as a boring state dignitary.

If they will succeed is another thing entirely as they consider the Yellow Skins to be inferior by pure racism, saying that they could roll over China in a month if so they wished.
