Makoto was lucky that the bathrooms by this classroom were just 2 doors down, 3 if you include the men's washroom door. She pushed on the door and walked in. Silence, she was alone, no-one was there. She tried to keep her composure but her eyes began to sting, threatening to pour out her bottled up feelings.
"No, not right now." she said to herself, striding over to the farthest sink with a mirror in front of it. "Great..." She mumbled, looking over herself and her red eyes. Makoto turned the hot and cool water on, watching the water run over her fingers until she got a comfortably cool temperature. Taking one last glance at her reflection in the mirror, she leaned forward and rinsed her face. She tried her best to keep the water away from her bangs but she still managed to get the tips wet. She turned off the water and leaned over the sink, dripping with water. Makoto sighed and began to focus on her breathing, thinking her life through. She combed through positive thoughts and good memories.
After a few minutes she stood up, her face no longer dripping but still wet. She moved to the paper towel and took a few to wipe off her face. She had decided it was a good time to call Storm.

*Ringing, pause, Ring, Pause, Ring, Pau-*
"Hello?" a professional voice answered.
"Hi Storm, It's Makoto."
"Hi, how are you today?" her tone lightened, softened.
"I'm alright, how is your day going today?"
"It's been a bit rocky but good." she sighed, sounding tired.
"I'm glad... I got your surprise-"
"You did!? What did you think?" Storm piped up, like an excited mother.
"It is wonderful." Makoto giggled "Thank you, Storm." Her tone softening.
"You are more than welcome, you have moved between comfortable places in life so quickly, it was the least we could do to make you feel more comfortable there."
"I really appreciate it." Makoto said, smiling brightly. "Oh! I've made some friends already, I like it here."
"That's good." Storm said, her tone suggesting she wanted to hear more.
"Two girls and one boy, Phoebe, Katherin and Flood. You may actually know their parents. Phoebe's dad is Batman and her mom is Poison Ivy. Katherin's dad is Iceman, and Flood's dad is Deadpool."
"They have quite the lineage." Storm said, calculating. "Be mindful around Flood, if he is anything like his father, he will be a loose cannon. You may find that he is not the most loyal."
"He seems alright, a little crazy but fun." Makoto said, her disposition saddening. She didn't want storm to not like her friends.
"Some fun and adventure will be good for you, always so studious otherwise." Storm said, sensing Makoto's fall in mood. "Just be careful with him. Is everything else alright?"
"Yes." Makoto responded quickly. She couldn't say that she still missed her parents. She had spent a decent amount of time with the woman and she knew that she viewed her as kind of a daughter. How then could she express that she missed her real parents.
"How are classes?" Storm prodded.
"Good. Actually, i'm kind of skipping the beginning of one to make this call..." Makoto said, feeling the pressure to get back to class.
"Oh, well then you should probibly get to the classroom. What class is it?" She encouraged.
"Power Development." Makoto sighed.
"I see..." Storm paused, knowing it wasn't a strong area of Makoto's "Do your best and you will be fine."
"I will. Bye, have a good day."
"Bye-bye Makoto."

Makoto put her phone away and turned back to lave the bathroom and get to class. She was feeling quite a bit better now than when she entered the bathroom.
