'What I play is art! Nobody has the right to say otherwise!'

[Name]

Hiiragi Sangu

[Age]

17

[Grade]

Year 2

[Talents]

Can sing decently. Knows how to play guitar really well, though she is more inclined to playing things like Metal and Rock. In the range of non-school-related skills, and despite not looking like it, neither liking to admit it, Sangu is also skilled at cooking and baking.

[Role Wanted]

Guitarist/Back-up Vocals

[Brief Background]

The eldest daughter of the powerful Hiiragi Commercial Group, Sangu had manners and whatnot drilled into her head as if there wasn't an end to it. She was trained to become the perfect heir for the next generation of the Hiiragi group, to become the head of the huge group that had reign over a lot of malls, supermarkets and whatnot, and she was on the correct path to do so, and the whole executive committee was in accordance to it, even using the part of her being a woman as another to promote the group, putting them as a company pro-woman rights. The only problem? Sangu had other plans herself.

She had heard before that her now stern father had also his own rebellious stage, and all of his, let's call it, dark past, was now put away in a single room that could only be opened with the key he always kept around his neck, as he called it his 'treasure'. When Sangu had become a promising candidate to become the heir, her father gave her the key he jealously kept hidden away from everyone else, saying it was time for his daughter to see the treasure he had been keeping to himself for a while now.

What Sangu found in there was surprising. It was a completely black room, adorned with lots of Gothic ornaments that gave the whole room a... somewhat eerie aura. Nevertheless, though, Sangu felt... strangely peaceful. All of her life, she hadn't had any kind of music classes, under the fear of her steering away from the path others wished for her to go down, and boy, were they assumptions right on. Inside the black room her father often called his treasure were a lot of things, between which she found: a pair of headphones, several CD's, some older than others, in fact, some of them seemed new, and more importantly, a guitar. It seemed terribly uncomfortable though.

And that's how she started. Sangu started hearing to the discs her father had gathered. Her breath was taken away and her soul felt in sync with the beats. They were all Heavy Metal, Rock, Punk and many other kinds of bands, it was something rare for one of them to be even if slightly calm, but even so, Sangu felt that those violent beats, those sick solo guitars and those throat shredding voices were the best thing ever. She wanted more. She wanted to learn how to play the guitar. She didn't care anymore about the prestige of her family. She just wanted to let her soul be heard with the tune of a guitar.

And as expected, her parents, more specifically, her mother, were against it. Completely against it. She just couldn't let her daughter throw away her time spent training to become the perfect heir just because the little missy wanted to play guitar now. A big fight ensued. Sangu, lastly, decided to leave her house. Her father, though, understanding her feelings and even though he didn't want to see her go, supported her fully in her decision. He made the arrengements and had her signed up in the academy, as well as preparing an apartment for her to live in and having everything in his dream room moved over to her new house. With a tearful farewell, Sangu decided to leave and make true her newly found dream, and put to good use her newly found talents. She bought another, more useful guitar, though.

[Appearance]
Based off of a younger version of Les Claypool in this music video
Les would consider himself a strapping young gent fit to take any young lady he wanted if he was right of mind. He isn't, obviously. He isn't exactly ugly just not good looking, more average than anything. He has a hooked nose that slightly bends to the right in the middle after being broken. His face is thin and his jawline is far from square. His eyebrows are thin and brown, almost the same colour as his hair. He has big, round brown eyes that rest just under his eyebrows and are almost, but not quite too close to his nose. His hair is shaven on both sides, but long enough to reach his shoulders down the middle. His hair is slightly lighter than his eyebrows and could be considered almost dirty blond rather than brown. He has the start of a moustache growing on his lip.
Voice: Les has a strong southern American accent that is rather nasally and somewhat high pitched.
[Name] Lester 'Les' Alexander
[Age] 18
[Grade] Year 4

[Talents]
He is very good at woodwork and making figurines or sculptures from wood. He's also pretty good at bass, specifically 'slapping' it but that's not the reason they got him in.
[Role Wanted] Bassist

[Brief Background](Sorry it's a bit long, kind of went crazy while writing it)
Les was born in the far south of North America. He is what could be considered 'trailer trash' as his family barely made enough to scrape by even within their mobile home. His mother was an aspiring poet who couldn't get her works published while his father was a lumberjack. His parents were both rather young when Les was born and so they didn't really have a plan for bringing up, Les other than just winging it. As a result of their lack of money, Les was often left to explore and play outside rather than staying inside to play with his new games console or something. He and his friends got into a lot of trouble because of this lack of things to do. They would often hop fences deliberately trying to get caught just for doing something to do. The worst case of this was when they were hopping fences and Les' jeans got caught on a stray bit of wire and sent him tumbling down onto the concrete below, resulting in his broken nose.

Les first discovered his musical talent when his grandfather handed him down his old bass guitar. Les was a natural with it, his grandfather gave him lessons every week and, Les began to copy old CD's his father had to the best of his ability after he began to get the hang of things. His main base of criteria for music was 90s rock music, but he sometimes delved into various other eras such as the 80s and 70s. He discovered his talent with woodwork around his twelfth birthday. He wanted to get a summer job so he could get some extra money and buy a new guitar. He got a job at his fathers lumberjack company, but was set for an alternate route than just cutting down trees after he was noticed by one of the higher up members within the organisation. They offered him the chance to get a few lessons in woodworking and possibly make some wood ornaments and furniture. He accepted and discovered he was quite handy at making wooden furniture. He went on to make various sculptures and miniatures which received acclaim from various friends and family Les knew. It was only when, Les' uncle remarried that he was discovered by Ongaku academy.

Les' uncle had a job in transport, which of course involved a lot of travelling. He met his new wife in Japan and they were soon married after being near perfect matches. The marriage took place in America, where Les met his new family. They couldn't have been more different. Les' side of the family were loud and energetic while the new, Japanese side of the family were quiet and courteous. Les began to learn Japanese before the wedding just so he could talk to his new cousins. He was far from fluent when the wedding happened, but he could at least make some sort of conversation with his new cousins. In a drastic stroke of luck, his new auntie's brother was actually one of the teaching staff at Ongaku before he retired. He had heard of Les' woodwork and was very impressed when he saw it. He recommended Les for Ongaku and just about the entire family scraped enough together to send him to it. He joined when he was 15 and was now fluent in Japanese, save for a word or two. Often times people originally from Japan would have trouble understanding him because of his accent, but that only happens very rarely now. He was rather ostracised when he first appeared at the school because of his drastically different culture and appearance. He gathered a small friend base as time went on though, he prefers to stick to this group rather than have a big group of friends he would find hard to keep track of. He writes to his old family every week and now lives with his auntie and uncle in Japan.

[Name]
Paris Uzumaki

[Age]
16

[Grade]
Year 2

[Role Wanted]
The Pianist

[Talents]
Quite polished classical piano player, though she has a secret passion for hip hop dancing.

[Brief Background]
Born on a frigid winter morning, Paris was given her names when her mother demanded that Paris' father run and gather a pastry from the nearest bakery. From that moment on she would be known to her family as their little cream puff. (She hates this nickname that they can not let go.) Paris was raised in a fairly well off family. Her father was a rampant and very busy business man and her mother had the luxury of staying home and bossing around raising Paris.

Paris' mother just wanted her daughter to prim and crisp example of a young woman. She dressed her daughter in dresses as often as possible and made sure her hair was brushed and her nails clean and polished. She got her started on playing the piano at around preschool age and was very strict that she practiced every single day after finishing school work.

Entering the academy was the highlight of Mrs. Uzumaki's life. Her daughter now had paper work. PAPER WORK! Mrs. Uzumaki made sure to grab plenty of brochures and pamphlets so she could show her friends and husband's colleagues later. Paris rolled her eyes before resting on a group of older students.

Hip hop dancers.

Paris was in awe. Their movements were so skilled and polished. Something the girl had very well developed within her finger tips but not her entire body. Taken out of trance by her mother's grip. "Those are the people I want you to stay away from ESPECIALLY." she emphasized, shaking her head in disappointment. Paris nodded but her heart longed to be in that scene.

It is now Paris' second year at the Ongaku Academy and she is still on a steady path to perfect her piano skills and continue to impress her parents. She's a little boy crazy cause she's a silly daydreaming' teenager- but she has not even had her first boyfriend or kiss yet.

[Name]

Michio Ueno

[Appearance]

[image] (this is an old image I drew for another RP. The reason for the negative colour and transparency was because he was a ghost in this RP h e h. The blurry grey spot next to his eye was a bruise as well, ignore it. Sorry about the weird image!)
Michio stands heads above a crowd at a height of 6'4. His hair is black and his eyes are a muted grey. His skin is olive, taking after his father, but he has a few patches of skin lacking pigment, birthmarks. The largest ones are on his neck/face (spanning. From his right collarbone to his right jawbone) and on his left hip (about the size of a large hand).

[Age]

17

[Grade]

Year 3

[Talents]

Michio excels at piano and violin, is educated in musical theory, knows his way around a computer and speaks three languages.

[Role]

Manager/Tech Editor (possibly)

[Brief Background]

Michio was born in Japan to a French Canadian mother and a Japanese father. He was raised speaking three languages, these being English, French and Japanese. His parents met in Japan while his mother was visiting a friend, where she ended up marrying Michio's father and settling down. From there, they opened a music store, and shortly afterward, Michio was born.

Michio grew up independent, being seen by his parents more as a burden than anything else. When he was about ten, he became an employee at his parents' shop, and the moment he showed any kind of musical talent, his parents shoved it down his throat. They pushed him to improve, particularly at violin and piano, letting nothing but perfection satisfy them. While Michio found it to be a chore, he worked at it nonetheless, as only when he was excelling in music did it feel as if his parents cared for him. Otherwise, they treated him more like an employee than a son.

When he wasn't working or practicing his instruments under scrutiny from his parents, Michio was in his room, working with the computers he'd built in his (rare) spare time.

Though he felt his future was with technology, he did develop a love of music and its effect on people. He was more than happy to apply to Ongaku with Tatsuya. They'd practically grown up together, and in that time he'd taken the role of equal parts brother and caretaker, always keeping an eye on her and terrified that something might happen to her, or that she might get herself into trouble. She was, to him, the only real family he had, and he cherished and protected her like a sister. So when the letter of acceptance arrived from Ongaku, Michio was ecstatic. Not only could he accompany his best friend to the most prestigious musical academy in Japan, but he hopes that through the academy, he can earn his parents' approval.

[Name] Michael Capanna
[Age] 17
[Grade] Year 3

[Talents] Singing, writing, cooking, athletic
[Role Wanted] Main and backing vocals/Songwriter

[Brief Background]
Originally Michael was a kid born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. His father was from many generations of Italians that had immigrated to the United States and his mother was a rich girl from the Main Line, an affluent community in suburban Philadelphia. His birth was an unexpected one; his father had impregnated his mother when they were eighteen and the two were married out of wedlock. A year later he was born and his father had realized that he needed a job and begged his father in law for a job in the company he owned, thankfully getting one so he could support his wife and newly born son.

Life had been simple; he went to school, had friends, and got good grades. It was when he was thirteen years old did he realize that he could sing and boy could he sing. The problem was that he was too shy to sing in front of people by himself so more often than he sang to himself unless someone simply walked in on him, embarrassing him instantly.

Socially he always had some trouble with making friends. He was shy and found it hard to relate to a lot of the students that formed gangs and getting into fights that would involve having teachers ripping hordes of students away from each other. For most of his life people could describe him as anxious and even depressed. At some point he became suicidal, but got help from the school that provided him with a hospital that could refer him to mental health facility. What happened in the following weeks were things that he'd rather not talk about.

When Michael turned 17, his father's job required him to move to Japan and Michael used this as a chance to enter the famous school that he had heard much about. It could be a fresh new start for him.

Goro Kenichi

[Age]

[Grade]

Year 2

[Talents]

Drumming, Writing

[Role Wanted]

Drummer

[Brief Background]

Being born the youngest of 5 brothers, Goro rarely got what he wanted. Goro's single mother had 6 mouths to feed, and getting by was a struggle for her. All 5 brothers coming from different male fathers wasn't helping her cause either. Goro's mom went through many relationships throughout her life, moving on from man to man. Hooking up with a man in the night, just for the dude to leave in the morning to never be heard from again. Working at a nearby meat factory, Goro's mom barely income to sustain a good environment for all her kids. All of Goro's brothers were forced to work at a young age to help with the income of the house, and Goro wasn't an exception. Goro would do anything from painting houses, to mowing lawns, to help building sheds. Anything he could do at a young age to make money, Goro would do it.

It wasn't until Goro was 9 years old that he took up drumming. Goro was walking home from helping a old family friend paint, when he noticed a giant crowd formed on the sidewalk, they all seemed to be looking and listening to something. Goro the one to never shy away from curiosity decided to investigate. After making his way to the middle of the crowd, Goro was blown away at what he saw. One man in about his mid 60's was sitting down on a chair, banging two drumsticks on two giant gray buckets. Also known as "Street Drumming", Goro sat there and watched the man play away. A few minutes later, the man stopped playing, a loud applause from the crowd started to form but quickly died out. The crowd dissipated as quick as it formed and everyone that was watching went on walking. Everyone but Goro walked away, Goro kept a eye on the man, noticing a small paint bucket near the man, Goro instantly knew what it was. A Tip Jar. Goro had just gotten off work, and it not being a "Real" Job, Goro gets paid on the spot. Walking up to the man, Goro dropped all the money that he made that day into the jar, and turned to the old man.

"Teach me how to play." Goro demanded of the old man, The old man looked to the kid and only laughed. "I'm serious." Goro yelled aloud the loud city sidewalk. The old man looked back to Goro, before standing up and looking down to him. The old man took a few steps back before looking at Goro. "Let's see what you got kid." Goro looked at the old man questionly, The old man pointed to the buckets. "Play." Goro walked up to the buckets, and grabbed the drumsticks that were placed on top of each bucket. Looking at the drumsticks, Goro started to play what came to him. Closing his eyes, and just feeling the beat flow through him. After a couple minutes, Goro opened his eyes to see a crowd formed around him. They started cheering like they did for the old man before soon leaving the two alone for the second time. "You're a natural kid. A real natural, come back every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and I'll let you play when I'm on break. Heck I'll even let you keep what you make during the time you play."

After about 2 years of playing Bucket Drums, and under the mentor-ship of the old man, The old man brought 4 buckets with him this time instead of just the 2 he normally brings. "Today is your final lesson. We will have a good ol' fashion bucket jam session." The old man pulled out a pair of extra drumsticks and passed them to Goro. Instantly the two drummers started their beat up, and went on for what seemed forever. The two were in perfect sync with each other, forming a bigger crowd around them than Goro had ever seen before, and more people means more tips too. Goro looked over to the old paint bucket. It was overflowing with cash, and by the time Goro and the Old Man finished the jar was full of too much money to count. "Take this, buy yourself a REAL drum set, and make a million more money than this" The old man had handed Goro the jar of money. Goro instantly started tearing up, and ran up to the old man and hugged him. "Thank you old man, I'll see you around!" Goro ran off with the jar of money, looking back to the old man that was hollering back to him. "See you Goro! And stop calling me Old Man! It's Ryuzuki for the thousandth time!"

about 2 years later, Goro had been practicing with his drum set that he bought at the nearest thrift shop. Although Bucket drumming and real drumming are different, Bucket Drumming did help Goro get on his feet with real drumming. Goro's drum set was located in his backyard, in a broken down shed that hadn't been used since Goro was born. Joining the Jazz Band for his middle school, he instantly stood out. Able to play any complex song they could throw at him, his teacher recommended he join Ongaku Academy for a real challenge and to push himself even further to be a better musician. Accepting his teachers offer, Goro instantly applied for the Academy and was instantly accepted. Goro hopes to push himself even further in hopes of becoming one of the best drummers the worlds ever seen.

Name: Hiro Mizuo

Money? Trust me, that's not an issue

Age: Sixteen

Grade: Year three

Role Wanted: #1 Fan

Talents: Signing his name on cheques, electronics, large scale sound equipment, poetry and singing (although he prefers not to talk about the last two)

Background:
Hiro was raised by his family's wallet more so than his family itself. Being born to one of the country's more wealthy families will do that to a person. His father made it big in the recording industry when he was younger and his mother was a reasonably popular fashion designer, meaning that Hiro was raised around money. However, being as influential as they were, Hiro's parents fought constantly until one day when he was quite young, his mother left, taking a lot of his family's wealth with her. In order to maintain the standard of life his soiled son had been raised with, Hiro's father began to work more and more. He took Hiro with him to see his work whenever he could, teaching him as much as he could about speakers and recording music as he could, but in his later years he found himself spending more time with family in Scotland than his actual father. But, whilst visiting relatives in Scotland, he found himself falling in love with a lot of the language there, the way it looked on a page and the sound of it. He started to write himself, never really sharing his works with anyone else but showing real talent in what he did. It didn't take long for his Father to discover what his son was doing in his spare time and sent an application to the school (along with a sizeable 'donation') in order to allow his son to further his talents. It didn't take Hiro long to figure out how he got in though. He didn't protest, wishing to explore his poetry further, but resenting his Father somewhat. He promised that he would be as great as his Father one day, but he would do it without his Father's help... Well, excluding Hiro's access to his father's bank account of course.

Five Words: Spoiled, Rebellious, Quick-tempered (I hyphenated it to make it one word, so it counts), Cocky and ... Uh... Has-a-deluded-sense-of-nobility (I really couldn't think of a single word for that...)
