The First Day: An Intro to Ongaku
Tatsuya Aika paced and paced and paced. She didn't know how long. Maybe too long, because the feeling in her legs became lost. The night before, she had made sure to memorize every map Ongaku Academy had to offer. The first floor was the lobby and basic classes like math or science--the useless stuff. And then, the second floor was a physical activity floor filled to the brim of ballet dancers or hip hop dancers or tap dancers. The third floor was the most important, lined with doors containing instruments and microphones. And the very top floor were the dorms, but that didn't matter now. What mattered was.. was.. her band.
Tatsuya had arrived in the morning, earlier than expected of a regular student, and organized/decorated her new dorm a bit, making sure to leave room for her roommate. She was pretty sure Mi-kun would be texting or calling her soon, expecting her to have slept late or to have totally forgotten about it. Little did he know, she had been decorating every inch of her side of the room with posters of her favorite anime and manga characters, tidying up her desk with manuscripts for music and songs, and polishing her guitar which she kept so neatly propped up in the corner of the room. And now, here she was, pacing and pacing and pacing. Her head was swimming in nerves of her prospect for a new band. Of course she was confident enough to gather a handful of people to make it happen, but.. still, Tatsuya was only human. She couldn't pull it off alone. The small girl stopped in the middle of the soft-carpeted room, staring ahead with more of a glare than anything. That was where Mi-kun came in. He had worked in a shop for most of his life. He could handle some things. Yes.
And Tsukino. Tsukino, one of her other childhood friends who was more or less supportive of most of the things she did. This would bring no harm to anyone, forming a band. Tatsuya slowly backed away, taking a seat on her comfy, pink sheets. She hugged her plush cat, tapping her foot in thought. Okay. You can do this. She told herself over and over. You can do this with some help. Yeah. Okay. Tatsuya had heard there was a big welcome dinner hosted by the Academy the first day, so she would find Mi-kun there and even Tsukino too. There, she would give them her grand idea. And they would damn approve it.
In fact, I could even go search for them now! She thought, abruptly standing up, but stopped dead in her tracks. Oh, yeah. She wanted to meet her roommate, who she heard was a piano prodigy. I've never met a piano prodigy before.. This could be a big deal. I bet she's really cool. She has a weird name, though. Furrowing her eyebrows, Tatsuya patiently took a seat, waiting then.

Tsukino had given tours in the morning to cute, little first years, so he hadn't gotten a chance to greet his old time friend at the door as he planned to. It was, after all, fun giving her a hard time. But instead, he checked on a list to see if she had arrived, and oddly, Tatsuya was one of the first ones. This must mean a lot to you. He thought, avoiding the stares of giggling first year girls in the lobby. Grabbing a complimentary apple that was meant for new students, Tsukino shoved his hand in his pocket and stared up at the roommate list. He had had the same room since Year 1, but his old roommate had finally graduated for being quite the accomplished dancer. Tsukino had seen his roommate's face on Tatsuya's cellphone wallpaper, and maybe once or twice in public with her, but that was about it. Michio Ueno. Huh. He frowned, starting to casually stroll up the stairs.
The 4th year student took a bite of his stolen apple, walking up and up three flights of stairs until he found himself caught in the girls' dorm hallway. All boys had to walk through it to get to their own, and some, Tsukino mused, lingered longer than they should have. He was surprised of the lenient rules of Ongaku Academy. Girls were allowed in boys' rooms and boys were allowed in girls' rooms. Then again, most students there were solely focused on their studies to ever even think on flirting. Tsukino took another bite of his apple, arriving at his room and opening the door.
There, his roommate stood, tall and unimposing. Smiling, Tsukino's arms lowered to his side as he tossed his mutilated apple in the trash can, tipping his head at the sight of Tatsuya's best friend. "Ah, you must be Ueno Michio. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Tsukino Yorushi."
