A group of young friends all get a call, asking if they want to move to Miami to rent a large apartment suite together. They pay their rent, and get to live in the city full of beaches, parties, and jobs. Each friend has their own personality, and job. They just try to live out their lives as best as they can. Work all day, party all night. Have relationships, get in an argument, go to movies and sporting events, you name it. These group of friends are lifelong, and have been through a lot with each other. Although they may fight at times, they will always have each other's backs no matter what.

RULES:
1) Keep it PG-13
2)Don't be a total jerk
3)This will be a drama RP, which means relationships, fights, plot, and story! but don't go overboard on the drama haha
4)Please respect that sometimes people get busy, and can't post for a short period of time.
5) PLEASE no two sentenced posts. that doesn't help the story, or your character if you just say. " 'yes' he responded. he took a sip of his drink" thats boring haha
6) have fun!!

Name: Jason Hunt
Age: 26
Appearance:
Job: Lawyer
Relation to friends: I'm the one who invited them all to live in Miami
Bio: Growing up, my Dad gave me two things: 1) my hatred for him. and 2) his natural talent of defending people. At a young age I always stuck up for the smaller man, and although i wasn't big or strong back then, i could persuade and talk my way out of any situation. My father, Robert Hunt, is a very famous and popular lawyer, but the world's worst dad. ever. But i have to thank him for my talent. My personality and charm gave me some of my best friends dating back to elementary school! He was barely home, and when he was, we usually argued about his views and mine. And i lost all respect for him when he was bribed to make his client lose the case, when he was clearly innocent. I moved out as soon as i could, being accepted into law school. I wanted to be everything my dad wasn't, and i soon made that happen. My exceptional skills and my family name got me places. I moved from city to city until I eventually hit Miami.

I helped the under dogs, and hated the rich. I never lost a case. Because of my looks, charm, and age, the media loved me. Making me one of the most recognizable faces in Miami. I was the only honest lawyer. From my skills i got money, and bought out the largest apartment suite they had... but it was missing something. So i called a few of my closest friends, and invited them to live here with me. All they had to do was pay the small rent each month. They eagerly accepted. Now surrounded with a job i love, the people i love, and a city i love, its time to have some fun

Personality: Extremely smart, and a natural charm speaker. Is very nice and humble to his clients and friends, but can be a smartass to people he doesnt like. Witty, clever, and a quick thinker. Loyal to friends, easy to get a long with.

Relationship?: Anyone interested, let me know!

Other: Hates to be compared to his father

Here we go. I wasn't too sure about the relation to friends section. I figured we could discuss that part and edit it as more people came along

Name: Lucas Adler
Age: 27
Appearance:

Job: Grant writer
Relation to friends: Old friend of Jason
Bio: We weren't poor, but we had to make do with less than a lot of my friends. My dad was a good, hard-working guy, and my mom did her best to take care of us five children. We were a rowdy bunch and we really tried her patience. They raised us well, though. My dad firmly believed that the world is anyone's for the taking. You just need the know-how and the sheer effort.

Around the time I was 12, my mom's sister and her daughter moved in with us, escaping an abusive home. So, my dad was supporting a few more people. It was no big deal, but we did start to feel the strain. A few more hand-me-downs here and there, our meals were a little more basic. We were okay though.

I got along well growing up. My grades were good despite the trouble I managed to find every now and then. Nothing serious, just usual rebellious teen type stuff. Really the biggest distraction to my studies were the girls. I broke more than my fair share of hearts and made a few enemies, but it wasn't something I could really help. I also spent a lot of my time at school writing. I loved to write. It just thrilled me to be able to express thoughts for others to read.

I graduated and went to a pretty good college. Nothing really amazing, but an exceptional English department. It was the perfect major for me, interesting and leaving me with enough time to really take part in extracurricular activities. I then went back home and got a job in grant writing. It's a decent job that keeps me alive. Eventually, I got a call from an old friend asking if I wanted to move to Miami. I couldn't get here fast enough.

Personality: Lucas is a confident guy. He's worked to give himself a satisfying life and feels he can accomplish anything. He's rather charming, and people generally like him even if he is a bit cocky. He tends to get around and has set a few against him that way but he's on good terms with just about everyone. He has a simple sense of humor and loves to laugh, even at the most stupid of jokes.

Relationship?: Now where's the fun in holding yourself down
Other: Decided to never drink out of empathy for his aunt and cousin's abuse at the hand of an alcoholic. He doesn't care other people do though. He just chooses not to.

He loves sports and dancing.
Working on a book.

Name: Momiji Smiths (Mo for short.)
Age: 23
Appearance:

Job: Barrista in a coffee shop. She always has a big passion for coffees since she was younger. She wants to open her own cafe in the future.

Relation to friends: Jason's childhood friend.

Bio: Momiji was born in a small city in Japan, in the warmth of her mother's family, in the middle of a cold autumn. That's where her name originated from. She decided to go back home so her little baby girl could feel the warmth of a family, even without a father. But the warmth couldn't stay for too long. She had to go back to the states because of her work. She couldn't risk to leave her job for too long. She was a single mother at that, she had to raise her baby girl alone. Didn't want to be such a burden to her parents, she brought Momiji back to the states when she was only 2. Momiji spent her most of her days in a daycare because of her mother's job. But they always had their quality time in the evening. Both of them were very close, they complete each other very well. But in the other hand, Momiji never knew her real father, nor she had the chance to find out. She asked her mother about it, but her mother gently shrugged her off, she always did.
As she grew even more mature, she couldn't care less about the bastard who left her and her mother that way. They lived only by themselves for years, counting on each other. Until then, a fine man show up. He married her mother and they lived happily together. It made Momoji's heart flutter as well, that she never saw her mother as happy as she was that time. But it was also a clue for her to get a life of her own. And it was like a perfect coincidence when Jason, Momiji's senior since elementary school, invited her to live together in a big apartment with some other people and share the rent. She would never miss such an opportunity, so she said yes immediately. Her mother already got her happiness back, and this is the time for her to shine.

Personality: Easy going, a little bit boyish, totally talkative to those she knows the most. She speaks her heart out without caring what others might say or think. She might act like a B sometimes, but she cares a lot to her closest friends. Loves a good laugh and hates everything that is too serious. She has great sense of fashion despite of her 'allergy' to pastel colors. She can cook a little too. Her specialty is instant noodles or cup ramen. She also has good taste for coffee.

Relationship?: *Loading in progress~

Other:
- Loves animals in particular, but hates bugs very much. She would scream like a little girl when she sees one.
- Never had any boyfriend before. She loves being around boys very much, explains her boyish behavior, but never get too intimate with them. Don't get her wrong, she's still completely straight, of course. But she's always nervous when she get too close to a guy. She's just too shy to flirt back, too much of a denial, actually. Just a hint, if she blushes so much around a guy, then she actually likes him.

Name: Eun Chae Yeom "Sunny"
Age: 24
Job: School counselour
Relation to friends: High school friends with Jason
Bio:
Eun Chae Yeom was born in North Jeolla Province in South Korea. She has three other siblings; two older brothers and one younger brother. Her family was fairly poor, living simply and never in luxury. She moved to America at the age of eleven with her family when a distant relative died and left a fortune to her family. It was like a dream come true. All of the sudden, she would finally step foot in the land of dreams. She moved to Rhode Island, hoping to live a better life. However, she was met with adversity. It wasn't really easy for her to learn English, especially when she lived in a low-class neighborhood that had lots of sneaky stuff going around. Eun Chae changed her name to Sunny and attended school a grade lower of what she was supposed to be in.

She never really had friends and Sunny's family found themselves in the same 'predicament' they had been in South Korea. They were still poor. Her parents still worked themselves to death to support their four children; and Sunny still wasn't able to make any new friends at her school. However, Sunny never really let that get to her. With hard work, effort, and a lot of tears; she finally got through her middle-school years and was able to obtain an American citizenship. From there, Sunny managed to skip two grades, getting a full scholarship into a well-known university. She has a degree in psychology and a masters' degree in counseling.

She recently got a job offer in Miami, and surprisingly enough, Jason had invited her down there. So she took the job offer.

Personality:
Warm-hearted and compassionate; Sunny enjoys helping others. She is persistent; always striving for the truth and leading a respectful, dignified life. She is an extremely loyal person and often finds herself to attached to an individual. Sunny is extremely passionate about her job and is always willing to stretch out a hand to those in need. She's very empathetic, but is quite thick-headed when it comes down to personal relationships. Sunny chooses to live with a smile on her face and without fear clouding her judgment.

Relationship?: "What?"

Other:
* Loves kendo.
* Cats.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in on this. I've been craving some Modern RP as of late.

EDIT: Ugh, this always happens to me. QQ Take forever to make a CS and just barely miss the GM.

Name:

Holden Bishop

Age:

26

Appearance:

Standing at a daunting 6'1", Holden is the exact carbon copy of what people think when someone says, "Business Man," or, "CEO," and his parents don't let up reminding him of the fact. Aesthetically pleasing layer of solid muscle, accompanied by perfectly tanned skin, flawless complexion, and piercing blue eyes—add to that perpetually windswept hair that looks more expensive than a nice country home in the Midwest, and you've got a man who anyone would die to get somehow caught between him and the nearest bathroom stall. Always clean shaven and always smirking, he doesn't let anyone forget exactly who the devilishly handsome one is, though his friends never forget to remind him of the abnormally large feat he was "blessed" with. If not for the fact that he was a giant klutz who acted more goofy than he did posh and sophisticated, then he'd be the epitome of the word, "rich douchebag." 'Cause Holden has the clothes and looks to match, but the attitude and lack of coordination to completely negate it.

Job:

Doctor/Oncologist (Internship)

Relation to Friends:

Roomed with Jason during college; was a rough start due to his family background (who doesn't know THE Bishops?), but it eventually blossomed into a great friendship. As well, good friends with Jason's tag along, Nick.

Bio:

Born to a very well off pair in Los Angeles, Holden only knew the delights of a rich family, housed in a large home somewhere in the gated and windy section of Bel Air. His father had inherited a large, privately owned banking firm. Luckily for him, he had a few older brothers to take the throne once his father felt it time to retire at the ripe age of 40, making sure each child was well endorsed and fully prepared for the life of a head CEO or whatever job could earn them the most money and the family the most positive fame. Sheltered and with whatever he wanted, Holden didn't realize just how different the world was outside of the wealthy and renowned bubble he was unknowingly kept in. To him, there was nothing wrong unless he was hurting and in pain, which was exactly how he was taught. As long as he kept his eyes on the prize, he'd get exactly what he wished for.

And with connections like his, who could ever deny him?

So, it was odd that he wanted to become a doctor. Servicing those lower than him? That seemed downright insanity. But... there was something in him that he hadn't quite felt before and he couldn't, at all, put a finger on it. Which was why his father gave him hell for it, raining down his rage and disappointment like fire and brimstone. He wasn't supposed to be digging through the plebeian muck; the bourgeois were there to service him, not the other way around. He had his cake practically handed to him at birth and now he refused to eat it? This was worse than coming out to parents who were vocally against homosexuality or whathaveyou, of which his parents treated as any normal sexual need (they fully endorsed infidelity, which was the actual offense). Not like he brought boys home like a crazed sex addict; his brothers took care of that with the amount of girl's screeching at the concept of the fortune they all leisurely sat on.

It definitely took awhile to get used to, much less accept, but before he knew it, Holden was gone in the blink of an eye. Of course, he wasn't thrown out, he just went on to college. Money waited for him back home, of which he didn't quite care for as much as he thought he would. It would never be an issue for him, since his parents tended to baby him like their prized possession. His brothers were practically drug addicts dressed up in exquisitely tailored clothes and talking in their highfalutin accents; spoiled, well groomed, and waiting for the next check to roll in to waste on whatever they could—mostly drugs and women. They weren't exactly the Bishops his family was known for, but they worked to keep the company afloat while his parents wasted away their time in private clubs and poolside cocktail parties.

On the other side of the world, however, he was busy working as hard as he could to become the exact thing he wanted. Despite also valuing infidelity, greed, and utter manipulation, the Bishops, over everything else, endorsed hard work and diligence. You wouldn't be able to see it at first, through the obvious need for social interaction and attention, but Holden was the epitome of their family motto: Nihil Boni Sine Labore (Nothing Achieved Without Hard Work). And work he did. He graduated at the top of his class and with outstanding honor, ready to jump right into work. However, there was still the need to go through the necessary requirements of any doctor, that being internship, which wasn't paid... at all. That wasn't a problem for his parents, of which graced him with the exact money he needed for a nice home wherever he decided to live out his internship. Only the best for a Bishop.

However, there came a better offer. It wasn't the bachelor pad penthouse his parents assumed he'd be living in, but a pad nonetheless with friends he grew more than accustomed to during his college years. Paying his part of the rent wasn't an issue and he'd offer more if he knew others couldn't quite add to the pool, which he did with as much grace and tact as he could. It was easy to offend people by flapping around hundred dollar bills like they were quarters. Money wasn't what he was after, it was the satisfaction he got when he worked and when he helped people he knew were in need.

After all, being an oncologist brought both the amazing feeling of saving someone's life and the one of dread when you knew you couldn't, no matter what you did. He knew what it was like to suffer; he saw death everyday. It was then, during his years studying his ass off, that he realized class, wealth, and who you were or who you knew didn't matter when you were on your deathbed, regardless of age. It gave him more meaning than he cared to acknowledge sometimes.

Personality:

Diligence is Holden's middle name. Work, work, and more work. He loved it and he definitely couldn't get enough of it, even when he was given plenty of opportunities to just slide by like his brothers, knowing there was a safety net made of his family fortune right below him. Of course, he wasn't one to let good ol' fun fly over his head. He took those opportunities too and sometimes took a nice, relaxing day away from work for granted. Overstressed and high strung from long nights often makes him quite the bitter individual and it can be grating if he isn't forced to sit down and rest for a moment. It usually takes more than a few drinks to get him piped down and in a state of normalcy, which isn't quite as hard as he usually intends to make it.

He has a deep sense of remorse for what his parents put him through, though he keeps those resentful feelings as far down as he can. He'd never voice his opinions to his own parents, nor to anyone else for that matter, but he recognizes it as a problem... it's just hard for him to solve it. It's easier to run away from something like that than to face it head on, though he'd never admit to running away from a problem—that's not what Bishops do. It's not hatred, though, and he'll make sure you know that; he loves his parents deeply, but has always been forced to witness and participate in their petty games and their intense fervor to get him to realize that he's no different than them. It makes it harder when you have brothers who aren't even looked on as Bishops and are, more or less, simply placeholders. His parents would never admit it, but they want nothing more than him to fail at achieving his dream and realize that his home is in Bel Air, running their multi-billion dollar company like the good little puppet he is.

All of that and more is exactly why he has friends like Jason, who understand, more than ever, the idea of terrible parents.

Relationship?:

What, I'm shallow? And you're saying you can pass up a good lookin' guy? Please, if he's hot, then why not? [Insert Sly Wink Here]

Other:
-Is a neat freak, as well as OCD about organization
-Has a habit of biting his lip when he's nervous
-Knows he's a klutz and hates being told about it
-Wants desperately to adopt a ferret and proclaim it the house pet
-Has a nasty sweet tooth (He puts sugar on everything)

Name: Nick Dawson (A-K-A Nick Ryan)

Age: 26

Appearance: .

Job: Radio Personality

Relation to friends: An old friend of Jason's from college

Bio: Nick was born in Arlington, Virginia, He was the youngest of three children; Nick has two other older sisters (33 & 31). Nick's father Robert worked for the C-I-A but never told anyone about it. Nick just assumed that Robert worked in a business office, because every morning he would go to work with a copy of the "Washington Post " under his arm and a brief case in hand. Nick would every once in a while ask his dad about his job and Robert would shrug his shoulders and say, "Just another Government Drone son." His mother Suzanne also worked in the Government in the I-R-S. Nick had a good life in DC until one of his father's operations went terribly wrong, and he was killed in action.

Suzanne raised the children alone and they all loved one another, but she knew that Nick would always yearn for his father, so there were times he was jealous of his sisters. He never had the close relationship that his sisters had with Robert, because Robert died when Nick was still under the age of 10 so there is a void in Nick's life. Nick and his sisters have worked through their issues and have a good relationship now. Nick went off to college where he met and became very close friends with Jason Hunt and Holden Bishop. The three of them got into the usual college hi-jinx and so on, but there was nothing that they wouldn't do for one another. These two guys were the brothers that Nick always wanted and never had and would take a bullet for either one of them.

When Nick graduated college with his degree in communications moved back to Virginia and with his mom for a few years. He got a job at smooth jazz station which he hated, but it gave him experience and Nick was very good at his job. He adopted the name of Nick Ryan (his first and middle name) because while Nick Ryan is outgoing and very jovial to the outside world inside Nick Dawson cherishes his privacy, and doesn't talk about his job much or let his "radio voice" be heard too often away from the station.

Then came the day that Jason called him up and asked him to move to Miami. Nick at first was hesitant because he wanted to make sure his mom was okay, and Miami was a major market Nick wasn't sure he could find a job there. His mom knew that moving to Miami would be a great thing for Nick and encouraged him to send his air-check tape to 95.5 WXQR a classic rock station. Nick loved the music and his mom said she could see him do well there. Nick sent his tape and two weeks later there was an opening in the mid-day Monday-Friday for him. Nick couldn't believe it he was not only moving in with some of his best friends but he was working in a field he loved.

Personality: Nick is very outgoing loves a good laugh and very loyal to his friends. A very quick wit and a sarcastic streak but isn't cruel about it, and knows when to turn off "on-air personality" and when to just be still with his friends. However the first thing Nick does when he gets home from his 9-3 job is goes into his room and just enjoys silence, because working in a major market and having to be "on" all the time takes a lot out of him. Nick will do anything for his roommates and considers them family. He is very exacting in the sense that the field he works in calls for him to be on time and everything to be just so. Not as OCD as Holden but still he likes things just so.

He doesn't talk about his father much, but it hurts him so badly.

Relationship?: Wait and see

Other: Loves the music of Bruce Springsteen, frequent "Daily Show" viewer, has a huge collection of "Batman" comics, is a sci-fi geek, loves murder mysteries, and enjoys working out.

Anna Crobatus

Age: 25

Appearance:

Job: Paramedic

Relation to Friends: A friend of Jason's

Bio:
Average family, average life. Anna was an only child born to two very outgoing and friendly parents in Alberta Canada. Ever since she was a kid, she was the quiet type. A introvert, keeping to herself mostly. Reading, writing and doing whatever else she could do alone. Her parents tried to pry her out of the little shell she created for herself, but it never really worked. So her childhood was quiet, and peaceful. They lived in a quieter part of town, away from the intimidating large city buildings and bustling streets. It made her fond of quiet environments. You could find her holed up in her room reading a book, or sitting on a weathered bench in a park staring longingly at the blue skies above. Then in her early teenage years her parents had this brilliant idea of moving to not so quiet America for mysterious reasons. She wasn't too keen about this, the heat and everything else. She heard all kinds of things about the land south of Canada and they weren't the best things. Being too submissive for her own good, she never really protested against their wishes. Her parents always wanted this, so she just went with it.

Her teenage years weren't the best, school hardened and smacked her around for being the silent introvert she was. So to adapt to the cruel environment she became a rather bitter and cold person. Spitting reluctant venom at anybody that decided to come near her, and that molded her into a terrible cynic. She only had a couple friends, and only one entered her personal life and actually got to know her. The long terms of isolation ignited a social anxiety. She'd avoid crowded places, social gatherings or anything in general that involved people. During those years she sparked an interest in paintball, the sciences and poetry. It was a steady time, on her weekends she'd invite her little group of friends for a paintball match or she would lay on her bed and surround herself with a pile of books and get lost in them. With her all these interests she had to come to conclusion of a career. She longed to be a poet, but of course it was unrealistic she needed a steady job.

One night her parents hosted a small party for her father's birthday and of course was forced to meet some of their friends. One woman really struck her though, she was a pale beauty and terrible outgoing. The complete opposite of what Anna was. They talked, well the lady spoke. She babbled on about her life and job. She gave Anna a small nudge on her arm and suggested to become a paramedic, which she was. She told her about the good pay, its benefits and how it relates to her interest in the science world. And it could possibly give her some inspiration for the poetry thing she had going on. After the party Anna thought about it long and hard, and came to the conclusion that she'll give it a go. It wasn't really her thing helping people and all, because of her cynical tendencies but seeing other people relieved and happy gave her some sort of joy. A little slice of whatever they were feeling. Cheesy? She knows. So she altered her education for that purpose, and continued on with her life.

Eventually her little happy family broke, her parents began to argue violently at each other for reasons unknown to her. Anna lost the remaining security she felt, and she shut herself out to her parents and practically everyone. Grades slowly began to deplete. Everything seemed bleak for a while. But luckily it didn't last long, her parents agreed quickly to a divorce and her father quickly handed custody over her and the house to her mother. He took his belongings and went without a single word, only offering apologetic eyes to his only daughter and a soft glare to his ex-wife. It hardened Anna further but with all this done and over with, she quickly put it behind her feeling it was useless to hold any grudges. Everything was somehow going steady again, her mother seemed more content and her schooling was going steady again. Her mother was a busy business woman that allowed them to be pretty well off. With average grades she got into the Paramedic Certificate Program with flying colors.

She ended up in Miami meeting Jason and being invited into his shenanigans.

Personality:
Reserved and still bitter, Anna takes some time get to know. She is terribly quiet, unresponsive and distracted most of the time. If you somehow manage to chip into her interior though, she can be a kind and trustworthy person. She will stay true to you, if you stay true to her. She is also terribly loyal if you play your cards right. With heavy reluctance she rarely ever admits that she can be submissive to those she holds close. Anna is a stone faced person, rarely animating her features. Play your cards right though, and you'll see more expression than you've ever seen before. Get on her bad side though, and expect a sarcastic asshole that will probably ignore you 90% of the time.

Relationship: "Relationships...?"

Other:
- She's a poet
- Hates Coffee
- Sleeps way too much probably due to her job
- You can probably always find her holed up in her room if not out exploring on transit
- She loves to explore on transit
- Bookworm
