Just putting this out there, but I'm fairly certain what that police officer is doing right now is illegal.

Oh yes, very very illegal
The truth of the matter though is that the police force would favour the police officers story over some lower/middle class persons story.
Of course if you where rich it was a different situation all together.

@Bright_Ops well, I think Police Behavior issues were more illegal in the future due to the fact that anyone can easily get an Iphone, Record a police officer arresting someone and post it on 4chan Show the other Authorities what happened

@solamelike Very true, but if Sofie finds out John Smith had a Cabinet full of Alcohol John Smiths Story wouldn't mean anything regardless of how much cash he had

Wait, if we arrest the guy then we really have no reason to go to the stupid 'Haunted House' in the first place.

@nerminator

Is she likely to accept a bribe? I mean if she is enough of a hard ass to tackle and arrest an old man just because there was a chance that he owns a liqueur cabinet...

Sofie immediately charged into the so-called John Smith, slamming him against the Cabinet and turning him around so she could handcuff him

I'll try to get something up in a bit but wow.

Wanted to write while I still had a muse - what kind of check would I make to see if Amanda is familiar with John's story?

So for the spot hidden roll, what kind of information is she trying to find out? Why the room seems unlived in?

Well, in my ignorance of the United States, I had no idea that there was an alcohol ban. I'm going to retcon that Seumas had his whisky from before the ban took place - does that work?

Sorry for the delay as well. I live on a mountain with no service so I have to come in to town to check up on things, and the last couple days have been busy. Posting right now.

No worries, the laws seem a little fuzzy on if having alcohol before the ban and still having it was illegal.
Most people still drank alcohol despite the ban anyway so it should be fine that Seumas has whiskey

Based on what I know, Seumas still having possession of alcohol would count as illegal. That said, how strictly the law was enforced could get hazy, and in some cities, the speakeasies weren't hidden in the slightest. There's also the tale of a federal agent who asked a taxi driver where he could get booze, and the driver immediately handed him a bottle.

Prohibition was fun, I tell you.

Yeah, plus all the low paid police officers could be paid off to look the other way.
Which gave rise to mobsters and we all know the rest. (pew pew pew)
