When Ilthallan awoke from his slumber he was really warm… almost hot. He figured out why as he felt someone else’s arms around him. His eyes bolted open as he looked over to see that Zenotha was next to him. She was still sleeping and had a smile on her face… as well as a nice droopy line of drool down her cheek. He smiled and wondered if he could draw her in this light. Instead of drawing her he took a mental note, it was like taking a picture. He would be able to recall this moment in time if he wished and draw it then.

Slowly he got out from under her and made his way to his clothing. Everything seemed to be in place and he checked to make sure. Luckily for him nothing was taken from him while he slept. Once he felt that nothing was gone, missing or stolen he got dressed… as quietly as he could. Sadly for him his skills of getting dressed weren’t all that polished. His foot got caught in the opening of his pants… it was strange as if someone had cast a spell just to trip him. With a loud BANG! He fell over the table and managed to grab and pull everything off onto his head.

“Ahh…” A somewhat muffled noise came from Zenotha as she dreamily opened her eyes. He sat on the ground looking at her for a moment.

“This is just a joke of a dream. I would never fail so horribly at putting my pants on. Now shut your eyes and dream of something a little less foolish please.” He said pleading with her in his deception. “O…k…” She groaned and went back to sleep. After a few minutes he cleaned up the mess and was dressed. Quietly as possible he moved out of the room, although the bard outside his room wasn’t helping.

He was singing something about some dragon born or some such. Ilthallan wasn’t paying much attention but was noticing the increased guard activity. It got even worse when he went outside and his headmaster of the caravan came running up. He was a young Nord, probably twenty something. He had a clean shave, dark eyes, and dark brown hair. He kind of resembled a linebacker and that was without the armor on. With the armor he looked like a monster made of metal. Although he wasn’t wearing his helm and looked less intimidating.

“It’s our lucky day! Mine because I won’t have to watch the caravan as much. I spoke with a guild that specializes in protection. They happened to be in the area doing gods know and I bumped into them.” He explained as he handed the papers over to Ilthallan. He examined them and took out a magical cipher. It was a golden magnifying glass magically enchanted to read guild stamps and help verify paperwork.

Everything seemed to be in order so he nodded and looked at Arralf the Trollsbane and had him lead him to the caravan’s new muscle. The man was clad in something that resembled scaled armor, he looked like a nord and had blue eyes. His hair was a dirty blond probably because of the helm he wore and possible blood on it.

“Hello, Arralf tells me you are going to protect us?” He asked skeptically. The Nord man looked the part no doubt and after a bath his hair would probably look blond. Which meant the man probably didn’t smell all that good. In any case Ilthallan extended his hand as a sign of friendship between him and this new person. He didn’t mean for his words to come out so judgmental but he couldn’t shake this feeling that something big was going to go down.

“They are talking about war.” Zenotha said and as she did Ilthallan jumped about five feet off the ground. That was something to behold seeing as he was wearing heavy armor. He was also carrying many weapons on him… it was strange to see him doing so but he did. It was as if the weapons weren’t even there or the armor.

“I don’t want to stand around and wait for a ballista to kill me… us.” He corrected as he moved to the caravan. “WE ARE MOVING OUT. GET EVERYONE COLLECTED AND LETS MOVE!” Arralf yelled and everyone moved in a routine quickly collecting belongings and people. “WHOEVER DOESN’T SHOW UP WITHIN TEN MINUTES GETS LEFT BEHIND!” He continued to yell and boss people around. Ilthallan got into his seat and helped Zenotha into the seat. She was carrying a big bag of things that smelt like food.

She handed him a bowl of something that looked like chunky soup. “Thank you Zenotha.” He moved over and kissed her on the cheek and with that a surprised look crossed her face. She almost dropped her own bowl and started to blush. This distraction allowed Ilthallan to cast a spell which allowed him to verify if his food was poisoned. Luckily it wasn’t and Zenotha didn’t even realize he had cast the spell.

“Hey don’t drop that.” He said helping her hold her bowl his hand cupped hers as he balanced her bowl. She melted to his touch and let out a small mewling sound. His eyebrow rose as he looked at her. Her face was as red as fresh blood. It looked almost as if she would pass out from the amount of blood traveling into her face. He slid up next to her and allowed her to lean on him while they ate food. Soon after the caravan would be ready to depart. Arralf came up and handed Ilthallan a ledger which told him how much they made this trip. To his surprise they had made well over ten times the amount of money and it was all from metals. Rare or not they had purchased all the ore and bars that the caravan owned. He was certain that this city was about to go to war after realizing the purchases.

There were a few other purchases like exotic and non-exotic foods. Technically they were carrying a light load compared to when they came to this town. Although they moved slowly he wanted to be as far from Whiterun as he could. He couldn’t afford to have his caravan destroyed… or the few friends he had made along the way. “Damn it!” He cursed as he realized that he had in fact grown attached to Zenotha and Arralf… even if Zenotha was suspicious and Arralf was a prick to him. He felt he acted that way to keep face when in the presence of others of his race. Zenotha looked at him concerned, but he just pat her on the head. “Burnt my tongue.” He lied holding it out and touching it. “I could suck the heat off of it if you like.” She said bashfully, as she took another spoonful and stuffed it into her mouth as if to stop herself from speaking.

“Perhaps someday I will allow you to do so.” He admitted as he started to eat more. “But only after you tell me the truth.” He couldn’t shake the feeling she was holding some grand secret from him… and he was right. They headed North West towards Morthal. If they came upon an invading army they would produce their papers and hope that they would be allowed to pass through. If said army wanted to purchase some supplies they wouldn’t say no. Assuming they passed unharmed from any army they would make for the T in the road and set up camp above the Silent Moons Camp.

As camp broke he walked up to the new members of the group. Sadly a few people of his own group were left behind. Drunks and people he didn’t really trust so they had extra room. “Sorry for the quick departure but I felt it was bad to say there. My name is Ilthallan and this is Zenotha my shadow.” He admitted as she let out a happy squeak and grabbed onto his arm. He let out a sigh and shook his head. “I was wondering if you and your men would be willing to explore the area. I’m sure people have already done so but you never know, could find a cave or something. I’m itching to find something to take my mind off the racism that hit me like a ton of bricks in Whiterun.” He said with a slight smile hoping to get something from this man. Hakkon was his name on the contract but he was hoping to have him introduce himself. To hear how one pronounces their name is their true name. You can have the same name as someone but until you understand the subtle or not so subtle nuances in speech you don’t really know how to say their name.

Daggerfall Castle, City of Daggerfall

A figure stood silently behind a castle window, a gloved hand parting the curtains enough to catch a glimpse at the crowd steadily growing larger just outside of the castle grounds. Merchants closed their shops in the market early, taverns ran short-staffed, and the Knights of the Dragon increased their presence in the streets as a general sense of unease settled in. The people of High Rock had known nothing but prosperity throughout the Fourth Era, the Great War itself having little affect on their daily lives (apart from those who fought). Daggerfall had even sustained itself quite adequately after the fall of Wayrest, one of the major hubs of trade in the Iliac Bay, but combined with the recent fall of Sentinel... even the common-folk knew times were about to get rough.

"It is just as I said when this whole damned conflict in Hammerfell started." The hand drew away from the curtain, the man pivoting sharply on his heels. "We'd have to take action sooner or later, but you'd rather keep the peace despite the consequences of inaction. Well, look what you've accomplished now. Wayrest itself lies in the hand of mercenaries and corsairs, dragons are ransacking Orsinium, and the Aldmeri Dominion are raping the children of Yokuda." His gaze fell down upon an infirm figure lying in the nearby bed, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he took several measure steps over to the bedside. "Conflict wasn't in your nature, was it?" He paused, "Or your fathers before you."

"A-alboran." A series of weak mummers came from the otherwise silent and infirm king.

"I suppose even now as your own voice seems to fail you, you'd attempt to steer Daggerfall away from intervention, but you've not to worry about such matters anymore. I believe that this affliction you now face in the wake of Sentinel's fall is a sign that you're no longer fit to rule Daggerfall." Two hands reached out to gently remove the pillow from underneath the kings head as he spoke. "I'll miss you, father." He spoke under his breath as he pressed the pillow tightly against his fathers face.

Gam Shei finally made it to the general location of Azzhlan. He had a hell of a journey to meet him just missing the sack of Sentiel "all this to join up with the Redguards" he hissed. He is lucky he wasn't killed by Aldmeri Raiders as he took another route around the burning town. He was sick of what he saw in the distance but the Argonian is only 1 man,1 creature. Some Aldmeti Raiders tried to harass him at night as he was sneaking around and he made them pay dearly for it. They were found wounded and tied up the next morning.

He reached the camp and two guards quickly stopped him. "Halt! ...... Why are you here Argoninan? It is rare to see your kind here!"

"Just take me to see Azxhlan" he says firmly to the guards.

Hakkon woke early with the rest of his men and met up with the caravan, he had his helmet off as he oversaw his men readying with the caravan for travel, when the high elf that owned the caravan walked up saying “Hello, Arralf tells me you are going to protect us?” "aye" was all he managed to say before the elf flew into the air at the sound of a small girl's voice, the elf then gave the order for the caravan to move out and Hakkon ordered his own men to get ready to move as well.

when they broke camp and began to move the elf introduced himself as Ilthallan and the little girl as Zenotha "Hakkon" he responded "i can send some men to scout ahead, if you like, but i know of a few places near silent moons: Dustman's cairn, Hamvir's rest, and volunruud mainly" just then Rasei had walked up to report to him.

More prophecies, more scrolls; do the Moth Priests ever tire?

Skyrim

Irileth had done well, the Dragonborn too. Fellglow Keep had delayed and bled the Stormcloak onslaught, causing Ulfric to admit, grudgingly, that Whiterun was a harder nut to crack. However, the Stormcloaks continued their onslaught, cutting down the trees around Whiterun in order to construct battering rams and ladders, while at the same time, trying to starve out the defenders by surrounding the city. This would continue only for a few days, though, until, one sunrise, the sound of trumpets could be heard: Solitiude had arrived.

Hammerfell

The Aldmeri Dominion would begin their next step, raising Ghosts of Hammerfell's defenders and 'interrogating' them for information on the land, which would then be used on the Thalmor's first forays out of Occupied Sentinel, where the remaining human population would be reduced to little more than slaves, working to rebuild the city's defenses against a Redguard counterattack. These forays would meet guerilla strikes from the partisan tribesmen who sought to prevent the Aldmeri from expanding beyond their bridgehead, leading to no small amount of frustration from the Thalmor commander. At the same time, however, a contingent of the Thalmor Fleet, 100 ships carrying 10,000 troops, would attempt to take Chasetown and Sunkeep.

In other news, several of the lost Ansei arts had been rediscovered, and while they were a fraction of a fraction of the power that destroyed Yokuda, they would still be formidable.

Cyrodiil

The New Model Army, emerging from the Imperial City, intercepted the Thalmor's easternmost host, deploying, for the first time, its combination of Pikes, Halberds, Crossbows, and Magical Staffs. The clash was indecisive, due to the rawness of the weapons, tactics, and men, but the Aldmeri Dominion had been dealt a bloody nose.

General Tulius' troops were still milling about in the north.

High Rock

((Sorry for being brief; there were no War Results for Daggerfall, only for Skyrim, so I have little to work with))

The Daggerfall forces succeeded in saving New Orsinium from Alunausbah, killing the Legendary Dragon at high cost with the help of the Orcs, and finally reseestablishing the Daggerfall Covenant.

Il stood there looking over the Caravan. He looked over the distance and cast a spell that allowed him enhanced sight. With a sigh he walked over to the caravan head and nodded. “Looks like my adventure will have to wait.” He said out loud so that everyone could hear him. “Seems that war is going on full steam.” He said as he scratched the side of his face. He was deciding if he wanted to be in this war. Well, not be in it but help those in need. It was strange and stupid of him… he thought.

“Hakkon what are your thoughts on this war that is going on?” Ilthallan asked the young man as he walked over to him. Zenotha and Arralf followed closely. “I think it would be safe to leave tactical decisions to you. I would also like to know where you stand.” His hand idly playing with his ring. It had some kind of second ring within the first and it allowed him to spin it. He seemed at a crossroad and didn’t know where to go and what to do.

“We could just keep going North, North West and we will hit another settlement.” Arralf suggested. Ilthallan didn’t dismiss his words and nodded signaling him that he had heard Arralf. “We could do that but I think we should stop off at the merchant guild and drop off our supplies. I will probably leave you in charge of the caravan Arralf. Assuming you don’t think me just another dumb elf.” He said with a smile. “In my few months of traveling with you and the rest I found that you were the smartest out of the Caravan masters. If you keep going about selling your wares like I did then you will do great. Don’t forget though just work the people. Lie and make them like you. Or if you can tell the truth… people like that better.” He said as he rested a hand on Arralf.

“Zenotha I would like for you to travel with Arralf. He may not say it but I think he has a crush on you.” Ilthallan said and with that Arralf turned around as he walked off stomping the ground with each step. Zenotha looked at him with a smile and then back to Ilthallan. “If anything you could keep him out of trouble.”
“But I…” She started and with that he hugged her. “I have grown to like you and most of the people in my caravan. I cannot have that weakness when I move around. I will end up charging Arralf twenty percent of his gain… maybe fifteen or ten. But I need someone with your skills with him. I saw what you did and since you will not tell me the truth I cannot trust you.” Ilthallan explained to her. She started to tear up and he held her close.

“Don’t worry it will only be for a few months, a year tops.” He tried to make her feel better but it wasn’t working. He broke the hug and planted a kiss on her lips. He could taste the salt from her tears but her eyes stopped and widened for that moment. She melted against him letting out little moans. Soon he broke the kiss and looked back to Hakkon. Ilthallan’s face was a bit red as he has never shown anyone that kind of affection.

“I will need a personal guard to help me along my travels. I would ask you but as you lead these men I would like to take on your next best, if possible.” He said as he walked around the caravan and pulled out a contract. Well, it was parchment and quill and ink. He started to write up the terms of the caravan as well as the single contract for Harkkon’s man or woman. Even though he told her to go with the caravan Zenotha was probably going to stay with Ilthallan.
