Madison "Mad" Flaherty

Madison wiped the sleep out of her eyes; she had barely got any sleep. She looked at the open book (Quidditch Through The Ages) on her lap, and her wand lying there, alight with the spell Lumos. "Nox!" she whispered. Maddie sat up and thought she had better tell Mary to come "stuverse" (studying and conversing, as the Ravenclaws liked to call it) with her after breakfast. She looked over at her bed and saw Mary was fast asleep. 'Better leave a patronus to give her the message.' she thought. "Expecto patronum!" she said, and her unicorn patronus shot out of her wand. She knew it would give Mary the message, so she headed downstairs for breakfast, where she began munching on a bagel whilst reading The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 6.

Morning time.

Damian was already awake, having been awoke since 4 AM that morning...something he could never really fix, due to that same nightmare. He usually went to sleep at around 9 PM every night, and so, waking up so early wasn't detrimental for his health or mental state. It was around seven to eight good hours, so that was good...unless he stayed up all night doing a prank with Nick, which, in that case, he tended to sleep until around the 6 or 7 AM period. The main reasons for him waking up so early was for a few things; one, he could take a shower and brush his teeth before everyone gets up. Two, it allowed him the early time in the morning to jog around the lake outside, pump some iron, and hit the bag before everyone started to get rowdy. And, three, he simply liked roaming the halls and doing illegal stuff whilst everyone was still asleep. It was just...fun. He guessed that it was from Nick's influence.

Regardless, it was about about time to head down for breakfast. He had some beef jerky earlier that morning, along with a protein shake, to get himself ready for exercise, but his stomach was growling due to the food already have been digested and turned into energy. The Sixth Year stood inside of his dorm room, towel wrapped around his lower body as he headed for his trunk. The trunk was sat at the base of his bed - large, sturdy, and wooden, with the steel clasp padlock permanently keeping it locked unless his own magical signature registered inside of it. There was one problem, however. "Leo...Wake your ass up!" He growled it deep within the lion cub's ear, a small, quirked smirk on his face as the lion snarled cutely, swiping at him with a padded paw. Taking a step back, he watched as it fell face-first onto the floor, before flipping over and blinking stupidly up at the roof. Chuckling, Damian picked it and rested it on it's feet, where Leo looked around before blinking and looking up at Damian's smirking face. A second passed, and it let out a delightful lion-roar, tackling Damian's leg and giving out a growling purr as it rubbed it's head against his calf.

"Morning to you, too." Damian's smirked turned into a grin as he kneeled in front of his trunk, opening it up and quickly finding his clothes for the day. Comfortable muggle jeans and sneakers, along with a black tanktop. Since he kept his robe clasped almost the entire day, to hide his muggle clothing, he wore these sorts of outfits most of the time. It was for a reason; He refused to ride his broom or do any duelling/sparring with stiff, starched suits, slacks, and loafers, and whenever he took his robe off during DADA, Quidditch, Charms, or basically any of his practical classes, the teachers didn't usually complain; apparently, it was efficient in some of their eyes, too. He also slipped on his silver rings, one on each index finger. His wand was already strapped to his fore-arm - an instinctive thing to do after he gets done showering, and after putting on his Gryffindor-themed robe...he was ready for the day.

"Breakfast time." He muttered to Leo as he exited the room, the little lion following him.

Stein "The Reader"

Today Stein awaked more early than other days , even if he had classes this day he was in a good mood.Awaken and in a good mood decided to take shower , get dresssed with the winter Ravenclaw uniform ,take his wand , the ring of his grandfather , one book called "All about dangerous magical creatures Volume 2" and his cat ,but before leaving his dormitory he noticed a letter , it was from his uncle Balthasar ,he opened it and readed it, it was a very short one and sayed.

Dear nephew,i am going to be on travel to other country ,so before i leaved , i sended you a gift, a very special one it will arrive the day after you read this letter so goodbye and good luck with your studies i know you are the best

After this he was excited and even more happier than before,he thought. "A gift this is going to be so amazing my uncle always give me the best gifts"

So now ready and with a more better mood he decided to write his aplication to the quidditch team of Ravenclaw , he was going to send it in a month but now motivated and wanting to give a good new to his uncle, now he wanted to enter.

Now he just finished the aplication and needed to give the aplication to the Captain and to pass a test,he readed about quidditch when he was a in his first year so he though it wasnt going to be so difficult. But something pop up to him ,he didnt even know who was the captain, primarly because he wasnt very aware of the teams of Hogwarts, so he needed to ask some people. But before all of this he wanted to eat the breakfast to get energy for the day.

Jaden

Jaden was silent as he stood positioned inside the Ravenclaw Common room, Jaden's eye's shifted slowly back and forth between reading the black worn journal he held in his hand, and watching the groggy Ravenclaws wake up and start for the main hall for breakfast. Jaden commonly stood waiting in that exact same spot morning after morning, being a school prefect he naturally got up earlier then the others, and made sure the morning went smoothly. As much as he loved his fellow Ravenclaws they could be a particularly rowdy bunch in the morning, especially the new years, while most settled in by this time, some were still just a bit anxious. That could definitely be said for the muggleborns, or the ones who were completely new to the magic world they found themselves in. They were always getting into some kind of hi jinx somehow someway, most of them who somehow found themselves with gags from the joke shop in Hogsmeade. Jaden had been trying to discover the culprit who kept supplying them seeming new years did not find themselves commonly in Hogsmeade. Unfortunately he could not observe every single Ravenclaw every single second of the day, but he had his suspicions. He was not going to relive the incident from his fifth year of school, his first year as prefect, when the new years were being supplied with decoy detonators. Every morning practically the new years were setting them off, which turned out to be a deliberate act to drive Jaden crazy in his new position, the one who planned it he never found out.

Jaden looked up as Madison a 6th year came down from the girls dorm, he nodded at her with a small smile as she left to go to breakfast. Jaden trained his eye's back on his black journal as he looked at several spell incantations he was working on, very potent defensive spells once he worked out the kinks in them. The problem with any invented spell was that creating the necessary wand movement was very complicated. Creating spells was both a dangerous and a very long complicated process, however in the end it appealed to his long nights when he was unable to sleep. He spent a lot of his time when he was not roaming the halls for curfew breakers in the library, some people would say he was never without his black journal, and some of the muggleborns would say it was his little black book whatever that meant. Jaden was broken from thought when he heard a steady clicking on the floor, the sound was all too familiar to him. Jaden quickly brought his book down as he took his wand from his robe and pointed at the ground.

~Evanesco~

The word flash through his mind as he waved his wand simultaneously, the decoy detonator on the ground seconds from erupting vanished into nothing as Jaden moved his eye's up seeing a couple students on the stairs. Closing his black book he slid it into one of the large pockets in his robes as the two students quickly scuffled back upstairs to avoid the lecture he was going to give them. Jaden shook his head as he smiled to himself, truth be known he didn't mind the small pranks, what was the point in being good twenty-four seven all the time, life would get increasingly boring for him. However he was a school prefect so he had to at least glare at them and make sure they thought he was going to do something. As the Ravenclaw tower steadily emptied, it became quiet, walking over to one of the several couches Jaden took a seat, he had not seen Mary yet, probably still sleeping. He usually liked to walk to breakfast with her if he could, when he was not chasing down pranksters.

In all honesty Mary was one of his real if only friends at Hogwarts, Jaden knew others of course, but his rather distant and constantly changing personality made him rather lonely in most cases. He didn't mind it though really, since he was a young man he had favored being alone. He used to always stay in his room, or go somewhere outside of his small village, a lake, an open meadow, just a place he could be alone and think. Truth be told he was alone more because he chose to be, it was just easier for him that way, the less anyone knew about him the better. He was pretty sure there had to be others who dark past's like his, he did not pretend he was the only one, in fact Mary his friend had one, she never spoke of it but he knew that look in her eye. He did not know about it really, he knew it was about her mother, but specifically what it entailed he did not know. He never pressed and she never pressed him about his, their friendship was built on mutual respect for each other and that was enough for him.

It did not mean that he was not curious of her past, but from his own he was not going to just ask, if someone did the same to him he wouldn't even care to tell them anything. Jaden moved his hand up to his neck as he rubbed the spot where the scar was, even though it was hidden by magic he could feel the different texture of the skin. It dang near went from side to side, Jaden quickly lowered his hand and perished the thought. It was far too early to start reliving nightmares, and he had a full day ahead of him with his classes, patrolling, Quidditch practice, he needed a clear mind. Removing his black journal from his inner pocket he opened it with one hand and began to read again waiting for Mary to arrive.

~Karen Antonius~

Karen took a sip of her tea, savoring the brew's deep taste to go along perfectly with the cool morning air. She'd been since 7 am, not for any particular reason; she just got up at the time and that was it. Seeing as going back to sleep was impossible and she had nothing better to do, she figured a bit of tea in the morning wouldn't be a problem. She'd used her own supply to avoid having to go downstairs to the kitchens, which would have been a hassle.

Soon enough other students began waking up and moving about. Some noticed her, some did not. Among those that did, many gave an awkard jump upon realizing that she was there, before try to scurry away as quickly as possible. Karen smiled and waved back pleasantly. It didn't seem to help there nerves. Yawning, she pulled out a tiny pocket watch from the robe she was wearing, and peered at it. It was nearly time for breakfast.

"Very well," she decided, sitting up from her chair, "I suppose it's best to be off by now."

Drawing her wand from a holster that was hiding within the sleeves of her robe, she pointed them at the used plate, and cup of tea. With a quick flick of her wrists, she preformed the Switching Spell, and in place of the used tableware was her rosary, red scarf, and golden cross. Picking the items up, she concealed the former in her robes while wearing the latter around her neck. Back then, these two object would attract considerable attention from most of the student-body, but now they've gotten used to it. Most of them, anyway.

Karen flung the red scarf around her neck and several males stepped back, looks of apprehension on their faces; they knew very well what the scarf was capable of doing. Karen laughed lightly. "Don't worry, I've nothing planned for today," she said reassuringly. "Unless of course, you want me to make plans for you . . . ?"

Her voice had taken an attractive tone, and it would have definitely been enticing had it not been for the underlying meaning behind them. The referenced students shook their head quickly and left. Karen, still smiling, stepped out of the common room after them, and was greeted with a familiar looking lion cub.

"Good morn, sir Damian," greeted Karen with a light smile on her face, walking up to side of the boy that wasn't being occupied by an overgrown kitty. "And to your companion as well. How goes your morning so far?"

Aah, idle conversation; it was truly the unmatched King of Activities when it came to passing time.

Felicia

Felicia had been awake for a short while now. She was already dressed and ready before she needed to be. It had grown into a habit over the last year and a half as a result of the tattoo. Felicia did love her tattoo, but it just wasn't normal for a girl so young to have such a large tattoo. So Felicia got up earlier than most normal twelve year olds would. Lero sat on her lap, looking up at her with his large green eyes. Felicia stroked his fluffy black fur, looking at the fire in front of her, admiring the beauty in something so simple.

Parum

Parum scooped up Geminus and held him close to her. She was sitting on her bed. She was ready to go to breakfast, but she just hadn't motivated herself to do so. Geminus mewled, and Parum grabbed a little bottle and began to feed her newborn kitten. She worried slightly about Geminus, about how long his life would be, born with two faces. She dismissed her thought and stood up. She left the room she was in and began to walk towards the great hall for breakfast, still holding and feeding Geminus.

Genevieve Braveheart
She crept through the quiet of the house. Gryffindors were not known for their ability to wake up in the morning, so it was a little strange that she was up as early as she was. Genevieve smiled as she saw her snowy owl perched on the window, its head tipped to the side, with a letter in its beak. She crept over quietly and took the letter from Geric. "Thanks Geric," she whispered to him and he flew off, heading toward the owlry, or the Owl Tower as she called it. She looked down and saw it was a letter from her dad. She frowned. She hadn't heard from him for most of the year. With a small sigh, she tucked the letter into the pocket of her robe and headed toward the door.

She walked out with grace and ease, seeing a few students heading down toward the Great Hall to eat. She saw a few of the Hufflepuff colored robes around and she looked around, looking for Patrick's familiar face. She couldn't help the tingle in her stomach as she looked for her best friend, but she immediately tried to force it back down. Chill. she told herself. You need to chill. He doesn't like you like that and never will, so relax and just go to breakfast.

Her mind forcing her to give up her search for her crush/ friend, she hurried down the stairs to the Great Hall. She noticed that there were a lot of students already down their as well. A few she recognized from the Quidditch teams and others she recognized from class. She smiled and went over to sit down at the Gryffindor table. She slid in between the seats and immediately started to pick at food, taking a huge bite out of a roll as she grabs it from a stack.

Still munching on the roll, she pulled the letter from her dad out of her robe and set it on the table. Shockingly enough, it wasn't a talking letter as he normally liked to do. She frowned. This must be important. She ripped open the letter and began to read.

My dearest child,

I send you this letter both out of joy and grief, as I fear that you will react badly to the news I am about to deliver. But first I must ask: How are your classes going? Are you excelling as your mother did when she went there? How about Quidditch? Is Gryffindor undefeated as always?

Genevieve smiled at this last comment because she knew very well that her father knew that Gryffindor had lost their first Quidditch match of the season this year. They were playing again really soon, she just couldn't remember who. She kept reading.

Now onto the difficult part my dear. I know it may be hard for you to hear, but I have been seeing someone over these past couple months. Her name is Delilah Evergreen, and I think I am in love with her, dear. I want to ask her to marry me and I seek your approval for it. I understand that this is difficult for you to hear, but I wish for my happiness as well as yours. If you do not give me approval, I understand, but then I will not be happy. I want what is best for both of us, Gene, and I think Delilah is it.

Please respond as soon as you are able.

Much love,

Daddy

The letter slipped from her sweating hands. She no longer felt like eating. Her father was getting married. To another woman?! She couldn't believe it. She knew that her say didn't matter because he always went against his word, like when he said he would love no one other than Mother.

"He's getting married," Genevieve murmured out loud. "He's getting married." Now she really wished Patrick was here.

Oliver Batch

Oliver, drenched in sweat, was walked back into the school after his run around the lake when an old barn owl swooped down and dropped a letter in front of him. The 7th year student was slightly puzzled by the early morning mail. Running up the stairs to the perfect bathrooms he enjoyed a very well deserved soak in the warm waters. Cleaned off the morning workout and then returned to his room where he changed for the day ahead. He considered wearing his student robes, but remembered that the guest professor for Care of Magical Creatures had a ban on them during his class. Leaving his room in a plain white t-shirt and jeans combo he made his way down to the breakfast hall to silence his stomach.

The great hall was the epicenter of chaos in the mornings. Students realizing they had homework do desperately dashing from one friend to the other to see who they could copy from. Others just sleeping in and needed to rush through to get food while not being late. As a 7th year Oliver had a lot more independent time, but most of this was taken up by studying. Under his arm he held some of his study materials which he set down as he sat in the center of the Ravenclaw table. The table was the busiest of the four with most of the students sitting and studying. Oliver would have cracked a joke about the table being nothing but stereotypes, but as he put his own study materials down he saw the obvious hypocrisy.

Grabbing a piece of toast and smearing some butter on it Oliver dove into the book with full force. It was an advanced book on Alchemy that he had been assigned by an old professor from his time abroad last year. He had gotten some advice on how to survive his 7th year and the number one advice given was stay ahead of the curriculum. Since then Oliver has done his best to remain a week ahead of his classes as far as prep and practice. It had shown to be the right move as he was at the top of his classes.

Mimi

Mimi grumbled and rolled over in her bed. She didn't want to get up yet, that was for damn sure. With a mumble and a sigh however, she lifted herself up onto her feet, and stretched. "Ugh..." She said, quickly and lazily getting herself dressed in her student's robes. The things were too baggy for her tastes, if she could wear a simple t-shirt and jeans she sure as hell would. But of all things, she had to stay in school. If she got kicked out, that would be no more Quidditch, AND she'd have to go home as well.

She stumbled out of Syltherin common room, ignoring or glaring at anyone who was in her way. When she got to the great hall, of course there were people everywhere, scrambling to eat. Mimi walked over to the Slytherin table, and sat down. She still wasn't fully awake, so she was even more irritable than usual. She grabbed food and began to eat.

Claudius

Claudius sat merrily at his table in the great hall, stirring his breakfast around with a spoon, staring off into the ceiling. It was quite a nice ceiling, though he couldn't exactly place why they needed to have candles floating around. Surely they'd provide more light at ground level? Granted, there were candles at ground level. Then why do they have them in the sky? Do the ghosts eat up there? It didn't seem very likely, but then again, it could be likely. He was excited to begin teaching a class full of students, ready and willing to learn about the stars and the galaxy. He felt he would get along with a lot of these students. He thought a lot. He continued to think about the usefulness and purposefulness of the candles.

Devin Coal

After the sun made its morning appearance the entire forest was bathed in a delightful yellow and orange tone. For the past two weeks Devin had been getting up early to track a small herd of Sunrise Deer a rare breed of cervidae who constantly glow with the same color and brilliance of the sun which makes for a beautiful sight, but can be difficult since they are easily found by predators. It is only during the hour before and after sunrise the glow they exude is unnoticeable to the naked eye making it the safest time for them to graze.

Every morning Devin had gotten up and, using a broom, flown into the Forbidden Forest to see what was causing the herds of Sunrise Deer to venture further and further away from the school grounds. Normally the grounds were a safe place for these gentle creatures and they understood this. The only thing that would normally scare an herbivore away from a prized food source would be a dangerous predator; however, after some extensive field time Devin had yet to find any alarming threat to the herd.

Devin had been considering the idea of bringing some of his 6th and 7th year students on a field trip to visit the herd, but at this point they were deep enough in the Forbidden Forest that even his laid back style of parenting wouldn't allow it. Taking a few photos of the herd and mounting his brook Devin took a final look around the forest and then kicked off the ground and flew into their air.

While flying back to the school grounds Devin thought about stopping by and saying hello to the centaurs in the forest. He had quickly become good friends with the tribe that called the forest home. He saw a small line of smoke coming up from the north side of the school grounds. That meant the gamekeeper was making his morning fire to boil water for tea. Time wasn't completely on his side so he forgo the centaur visit and flew back to Hogwarts.

Returning a few minutes later Devin looked around the great hall for one of his fellow Professors. His eyes were very much looking for something and while he didn't see it several people around him were certain of what he was looking for. "Professor..." A student said before stopping. “I believe I saw @ScarlettWaters16 Professor Carlyle earlier in the main hallway.”

It was no secret that Devin seemed to be keen on Professor Carlyle considering he had asked her out at the opening ceremony when the students were excused. Devin hadn’t done it in the most public fashion, but several students had heard him ask about her plans for the weekend and rumors have started from less. It also didn’t help that he came into her classroom at one point and asked the same question in front of the class.

Devin wasn’t embarrassed by his actions. He saw them as perfectly normal. He found her smart and pretty and was interested in getting to know her better. His friends back home had always said he was far too nonchalant when socializing with woman, but he just felt that his way avoided any sort of confusion. Thanking the student and making his way to the main hall Devin figured Terra had been making her way to her classroom as classes started in less than 30 minutes. With a brisk pip in his step he made his way towards the Transfiguration classroom.

David Windstrider

Mid term was most definitely not fun for a prefect. Lots of first and second years, pampered to the extreme and displaying that typical, involuntary egocentricity that only fades with age, were returning from their winter holidays, and David, as a prefect, had to put up with their endless supply for both energy and bad ideas. It was even worse for Slytherin youngsters, as their arrogance was simply nauseating, and you didn't know how it could get "political" if you subtracted points for transgression. All in all, it wasn't a happy time.

Up until 4 am, David had been patrolling the corridors for two second years that were up to no good. He eventually somehow ended up with even more work on his hands, as that number rose from two, to five, to ten. In the end, he did manage to catch them all, give the non-slytherin a good scare that would make them remember him for the rest of their lives, and gave the former essays to write on motivations for the existence of rules as glue to a society. At 4 am, David realized all the chasing around and ranting had kicked the tiredness out of him, and proceeded to pester Charles into waking up in the middle of the night and helping him at his new project - stretching his ability to wandlessly cast random charms.

Entering the great hall for breakfast, the two boys looked more like ghouls than living, breathing teenage boys. Separating to join their respective houses, David slumped into a seat and started filling up a cup of coffee. Meanwhile, the usual snark was going about around him about his friendship with Charles. Normally, he'd just retort snarkily back, but the last sleepless night had broken his nerve sufficiently that he had little interest in... anything, really. Taking a sip of the coffee, David straightened his back ever so slightly, eyes closed, concentrating on a simple heating charm he could cast wandlessly with moderate success on the beverage. That should make him feel relatively better in 15 minutes or so.

Professor Terrabeth "Terra" Carlyle
All of her students smiled and laughed as she walked passed them in the hallway, but she didn't care. She wasn't ashamed of getting asked out by the attractive new Care for Magical Creatures professor. In fact, she would have said yes if the headmaster hadn't been in the area at the moment. She felt a small flush rush up to her face as she thought about Professor Coal. He was fairly attractive. She knew that a few of his female students had a crush on him. In fact, when she first met him, she couldn't help but gawk at his handsomeness, but she was well over that... Sort of. Not really.

She walked down the main hallway to her classroom. Drawing her wand, she placed it on the lock and murmured the password for her magic induced lock to keep the students out of her classroom. She smiled as she walked inside, looking around at all of the animals. Most of them used to be teacups or clocks, but now they are her pets. Well, not really. They're more of her test subjects. She has only two pets and one stays in the Owlry while her cat is almost nowhere to be found.

She walked up and sat down at the front desk, drawing out some papers that still needed grading from earlier. She had skimmed over them quickly and she knew what grade to give. She wrote quickly on them with red ink and set the papers aside right as one of her younger female students ran up to her. Her friends surrounding her, the young student was giggling profusely. "May I help you, Anabelle?" Professor Carlyle asked.

"We just thought you should know that Professor Coal is on his way down," Anabelle giggled before whipping around and running off with her friends. She would normally scold them for this, but she was curious as to why Professor Coal was heading down here. She looked in one of the nearby reflective surfaces and fixed her hair quickly, smiling. She felt like a teenager again, even though it was nine years ago. She took a deep breath and pulled out some more papers, trying to look like she was doing something when Professor Coal got there.

As with his usual early morning routine, Sylvester woke up earlier than most Gyrffindor students and did his morning run, push ups, sit-ups, bench presses, and so forth. A healthy body did lead to a healthy mind after all, something that many students in Hogwarts should pick up on. It was always outside of the building, usually by the loch and by the end of it lead all the way back to the edge to the entrance of the Forbidden Forest by an old cottage that was there for some reason. At that point, Sylvester would take a water break and stretch his tired muscles before he lightly jogged back towards the castle to then later jog up the many changing stairways of the school towards, often gaining looks from passing students who wondered how in the world this guy could keep this up on an almost daily basis. At last he would soon arrive back at the portrait of the Fat Lady.

"Password." The portrait asked.

"Tassel foot." The half-breed stated with a bored tone, most likely because he had to do this everyday. As the door opened for him Sylvester stepped into the common room which was still empty at this time, save for some early birds. He had grabbed some clothes; a red t-shirt with Gryffindor's crest, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a black jacket with the logo of the Bulgarian quidditch team logo on it. Mr. Tibbles, his pet iguana, laid on its stomach and looked up at Sylvester lazily and then laid its head back down before deciding to take a nap as Sylvester made his way towards the prefect's bathroom. One of the benefits of being the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team is that he is allowed to use it whenever he wanted to. The blue haired boy took a relaxing bath in the large, luxurious tub and after nearly falling asleep in the pure silence and relaxing bliss he got dressed and head down to the dining hall.

Well isn't she a sight for sore eyes. Genevieve, one of the beauties of Gryffindor and one of the many that he teased and flirted with when they were off the quidditch field. When it came to quidditch he was surprisingly strict and demands more than a hundred percent from them. Typically he would flirt with her, but the look on her face at the moment told him that his usual fun would meet an unsavory end. "Yo Genevieve. Who's getting married?" He asked as he sat down across from her.

Archion tapped his feet as he was glancing at the letter he had received a moment ago, the topic being about the guest teacher for the Care of Magical Creatures class. He had been awake for several hours now and was drinking a cup of coffee, while reading the letter before deciding to throw it somewhere as he finished it. Setting his cup down, he looked at his clothes before changing in the room before leaving in some casual clothing for the class. He had put on a simple gray casual tee-shirt, along with a dark pair of pants, then finally came his dark scarlet beanie and jacket which had a black and white checkered pattern. Taking his bag and glasses on the way out before putting them on, taking his wand and pointing it to his bag, he cast a simple charm lightening his bag from all the books stored in there. Placed on the bag was another spell which allowed it to carry more that what others could think would fit in there, it was only large enough to carry his books with little extra room for anything else.

Out he went and into the great hall he went, where he briefly grabbed something to munch on before sitting at his table setting down his bag before pulling out a book to read. Nobody at his table seemed interested in talking about this morning and when looking to see what he had grabbed, he discovered it was a pear along with a apple as well in his other. Fruits were good but he would need to eat later, so he pocketed the apple and would eat the pear for now. Occasionally from his book, his eyes would wander off the page and observe the other tables.

It has seemed anyone he knew at the Hufflepuff table at the moment weren't here so he didn't find anyone he was interested in to talk to in the morning. Then there was the Ravenclaws, who seemed the be the busiest table at the moment and he wonder if he had been put into that house would anything be different from now? He truely wondered about it but didn't keep his mind on it as he quickly brushed over Slytherin who he didn't care much about only keeping track of the troublemakers for his own safety. Gryffindor's table, where it seemed to be the second most busiest table, who he had a neutral opinion about taking note of some people that were sitting over there before he returned to his book.

With twelve classes, he spent every moment he had with a book in his hand as he was studying and reviewing material from them, while also going ahead while he had time to remove some stress when the lessons came. He was practically ahead of the majority in his classes, however having to study many subjects meant that he often forgot some small things here or there. Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts were his best classes out of the... thirteen that he had and easily caught things on during class and excelled in them easily. Dueling was another thing he like but wasn't a class but, it was still a fun pastime to do as he often practiced spells against his opponents. Then there were the other eleven classes that he needed to study for when he had the time to of course and the perfect time was now.

Genevieve
"Huh?" Genevieve looked up blankly as her Quidditch Captain, Sylvester Evans, sat down at the table. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, sliding the letter off the table and hiding it back in her robe. The blue haired half breed looked at her curious and and she sighed, hoping that he wouldn't go off his shenanigans with flirting with her off the Quidditch field. He would do that a lot. She told him, "My dad. He said that he found another woman and has been dating her for the past couple months."

Some small thing inside of her snapped and she hissed, "How could he do that?! How could he do that to Mother?! How could he do that to me without telling me?!" She felt heat rush to her face and tears stung at her eyes. She sniffed and rubbed her eyes with her robe, playing it off with a statement of "Damn allergies." She dropped her arm back down by her side and rested her chin on the table, staring at the half eaten biscuit in front of her. She looked up at Sylvester and said, "Do you know who we're playing next in Quidditch? I was trying to remember, but I just couldn't." She dropped her eyes back from him and stared back at the biscuit.

She wanted her get her mind off of this damn thing and she looked back up at Sylvester. "Do you think we could have practice some time soon as well? I think that would help me a little bit. I need to get better at avoiding Bludgers, especially on my mom's broom since it doesn't maneuver as well as the rest of your guys'." She stared back at the biscuit.

@Asuu

As Leo gave the two-faced girl a prolonged mewl of aloof acknowledgement, Damian took a few more seconds to turn his head downwards and study her. Platinum hair, pretty face...she was Karen, someone known for being able to charm virtually any male with her good looks and angelic persona. Only, he, rather easily, saw through all the flirtiness and kindness. She was as sharp as a snake, he knew, and loved to tease others. He had met many a girl like her back at home, and dated quite a few, too. He wasn't interested in another one. Buuut, she was decent company, even though he didn't like company itself, and so he didn't try to run her away. Rather, he snorted and turned his head back to the stretching corridor.

"Name's Damian. I've already told you that." He replied coolly, whistling softly as Leo had stopped to paw at another student's wooshy robes. The tiger meowed in annoyance as it trotted to catch up, and Damian smirked down at it, the tiger cub's annoyance seemingly growing at the smirk, judging by how it started to paw at Damian's Gryffindor robe. The teenager ignored it in favor of glancing, once more, at the girl beside him, as they began to get closer to breakfast. "Needed something?" As he pushed open the large double doors with one hand, Damian glanced down at Leo as it managed to somehow bite through the hem of his robe and into the tough jeans underneath. It's reaction of victory was amusing.

“Hey, pipsqueak, how's it going?”

Rough hands descended on to Lindsey's shoulders, gave her a quick shake, and then released her shoulders so as to give her ponytail a fairly hard tug. Scowling, Lindsey aimed a sharp elbow into her brother's side, eliciting a rather satisfactory grunt of pain. Turning to face her older brother, Lindsey offered him a smile full of teeth.

“Is there something you wanted, cretin?”

Marcus laughed and shook his head. A few guys lingered nearby, waiting on him so that they could leave the great hall and get on with their day. Her brother was the opposite of Lindsey in many ways, having almost a foot of height on her as well as a more tanned, blonde look than she could ever manage. He was almost far more sociable than her, a fact which showed in his frequent entourage of fellows Lindsey found thoroughly average and forgettable. After 4 years she still couldn't remember who was who, not that she had ever really tried.

“You look tired. Again. Mother is going to kill me if you don't get sleep.”

“I would, except after you had me help that fellow's owl... uhm, that Ford (@Lockerz) fellow - " Color seeped into Lindsey's cheeks as she attempted to convey a certain carelessness. “Well, since then I've had people from every house plaguing me with some of the silliest concerns about their pets. Really, you'd think they had never heard of the library.” Although she was pale with fatigue and some frustration had crept into her voice, Lindsey wasn't overly irate – she liked helping animals, and a lot of people now owed her favors.

Her brother offered her a rather fierce scowl, muttered something about her being far too friendly, and patted her head in farewell before leaving the great hall. Grumbling about being treated like an infant, Lindsey reached across the table to snag another sausage.

Devin looked up the stairway as it swung around to face the east side of the tower. It is almost like the school has a vendetta against people figuring out how to navigate its halls he thought after getting off the stairs. It has been several weeks since the young professor had arrived at Hogwarts and he had yet to master the grounds beyond his classroom and outdoor areas. He knew the Forbidden Forest better than he did Hogwarts.

He had a suspicion that students had been ordered by their house heads to follow help him around in hopes that he would award points to those that assisted him. The plan had worked as he already had awarded more than 20 points while getting lost. Thankfully when he turned the corner he saw that he was standing in front of the Transfiguration classroom which had its door slightly open. “Excellent!” He said with a happy tone. @ScarlettWaters16

“What is that Professor Coal?” A stern voice echoed. The voice cut through the light hum of students moving about the tower and its owner needed little introduction. Wearing a brilliant black and green robe, with a hat an equal match to the upright posture, the Headmistress stood in the middle of the corridor that Devin had just walked past.

How she got the jump on him Devin never could figure out, but he chalked it up to her knowing the school better than anyone. He felt a slight prick run along his spine almost like he was in a jungle with a very powerful cat. “Headmistress, it is good to see you. I hope you are well?” He said with a bright smile. He enjoyed the Headmistress. She was clever as they came and wasn’t really interested in nonsense. "I was just looking for the Transfiguration classroom. Seems I am starting to get the hang of this school. What can I do for you today?"

Being someone who enjoys a fair bit of nonsense meant Devin had his friction with the Headmistress, but really it was just their alternate personalities. She seemed to hold his opinion high enough that if Devin explained himself the Headmistress would usually side with him. The problem of course was Devin rarely explained himself. It was mostly out of laziness and not an act against the system.

“A Leviathan?” The Headmistress said in a very curt tone. “A Leviathan. Professor Coal this is completely out of the question.” She said while walking over to the Magical Creature professor. They were now only five or so feet from Professor Terrabeth’s classroom. “I mean really I had my reservations about having you take students into the Forbidden Forest, but now you want to take them out to see a Leviathan?”

“Well the students have finished their advanced aquatic beast’s readings. Seems only fair to show the reality of what they have been reading.” Devin said with a smile. He knew this was because the letter he sent in a request for a field trip to the Arctic Ocean to see one of the last remaining adult leviathans in Europe. For monster watchers it was a spectacular event and Devin felt it would be an amazing opportunity since it was going to happen closer to Scotland than it had ever in the past. From the tone the Headmistress was using it was quickly looking like it wasn’t going to happen.

“Do you have any idea how dangerous those beasts are? And you want to put them on a boat and just shove off towards the beast famous for devouring ships whole?” The Headmistress seemed angry when she asked this, but Devin knew the Headmistress long enough enough to know she wasn't actually upset so much as very reserved. More than likely seeing his request as dangerous just made him think it best to pull the young professor back a little.

“I am aware. That is why we wouldn’t be in the boats. We can leave that to the thrill seekers. I have it on good source that the leviathan’s path will stretch along the north coast of Ireland and Scotland. There will also be several of my friends from multiple Monster Regulation and Protection NGO’s in attendance. I have no interest in endangering the students. Only enrich their understanding of the animals they share this world with.” Devin purposefully used some key words as well as used a warmer than normal tone.

The Headmistress seemed to soften after Devin explained the students wouldn’t be on a boat. Still she wasn’t completely sold. “I will talk to some of the house heads, but you are not going to just take any student who completed the course. Each student will have to get another permission slip signed and I don’t want to even think about what we might need from the ministry.” She then started to leave.

Saying a quick goodbye Devin turned back to head over to the Transfiguration classroom. “Professor Coal I believe you have a class starting in ten minutes…” The Headmistress said in what could only be described as an educator’s voice. There was a silence that again gave Devin a short prick. He could tell he was glancing at Devin with a knowing gaze.

“Of course Headmistress . Just checking on the animals in Professor Terrabeth’s room. You know how the cleanup can cause the house elves trouble.” Devin than made a quick exit before the Headmistress could give a more direct order to get ready for his morning class. He opened the door into the Transfiguration classroom and walked in with a bright smile like a boy who had just left a store after buying a brand new toy.

“I have tracked lions across the Savannah and shadow caps in the dead of night and none of them compare to the Headmistress.” He smiled even more as some of the students who had heard the conversation in the hall gave a little laugh. Looking around the classroom Devin saw the normal amount of cats, dogs, birds, and other creatures that used to know only how to be a pencil, cup, book, or other object. Slowly the animals started to move over towards Devin.

Since as long as he can remember he had always had a way with animals that seemed to draw them towards him. It was what made him want to pursue a career involving them. Giving a cat a nice scratch on the head earned a purr and a bark from a dog got Devin to lean over and give it a pet as well. “Hey Terra. I heard the students in my class yesterday say there was going to be a visit to Hogsmeade in a couple of days. Thought you might want to make a date out of it and enjoy the village together?”

To say that Genevieve took the news well would've been an obvious lie. Every inch of her face was etched with rage, hurt, and sadness that she kept trying to hold back in vain as she had her little outburst followed by trails of tears that she tried to playoff as allergies. It wasn't exactly the best exact moment to be his usual self so he decided to keep it to himself and let her vent out until she felt better. Still he couldn't exactly blamer her. All of these years it was just her and her father so for her dad to bring in a new woman into her life was a staggering blow for her. It wasn't like he could blame her father; a man does get lonely after all. But two months? Where the hell was the rush? How could her father not at least consider his own daughter's feelings at all? He didn't even introduce his own fiance to his own flesh and blood for crying out loud. Heaving a sigh, he grabbed a cup filled with coffee and filled his plate with stacks of various foods to satiate his intense hunger from exercising.

"Next game we're playing against Ravenclaw. Tch, I swear, next practice we're going to train so fucking hard that we'll be bleeding from our pours." Sylvester growled, glaring down at the stack of food on his plate. He could not forgive himself for letting his team get defeated in the first game of the year! He was the captain and when his team failed then that means he had failed as both a player and a captain. Failure was not an option! He will improve his team so that one day they would never have to taste the unappetizing flavor of defeat.

Her question finally broke him from his thoughts. "I'll see what I can do. It's not going to be easy rescheduling the reservation for the entire field, but I'm sure that I can make it work. If you need help I'll gladly make some time to help you outside of the field." He smiled at her and sipped his coffee, his face scrunched up from the bitterness. "Needs cream." With a flick of his wand, the container that held the cream flew to his hand and he poured a little bit in.

"Since your broom can't keep up like the rest of ours can we'll need to work on your reflexes and hand eye coordination to make up for your lack of maneuverability. If we work on your reflexes than everything else should come naturally to you."
He picked up his knife and form and began to dig into a stack of pancakes.
