Aella stood straightening out her clothing and shooing Nos back into hiding then walked down the aisle between the tables. She couldn't help over hearing the others chatting about Quidditch a subject that she found tiring. It was a sport that seemed to consume their every moment and thought of her fellow students and for the life of her Aella never understood.
She could handle a broom as well as most students and loved to fly in and out of the open windows of the Manor and flying in the rafters of the great hall to annoy her parents. Quidditch though seemed a pointless game because it revolved around the seekers yet they called it a team sport, once the snitch was caught the game was done. No, not a sport like football or even rugby two muggle sports she'd actually watched while in London last summer while dating Lance the muggle boy that made her parents seethe with anger.
Remembering Lance made Aella smile and not because she cared for him for she never did but for how his presence had made her mother forget her spiders and storm into her room. She giggled as she remembered her mother's red face turning ashen white when one of her Orb spiders had dropped from the ceiling before her. Before she left her mother had used the parental lash of grounding Aella till school began which was a futile gesture because she never left her rooms at home all that often.
Once outside the great hall and away from all the Quidditch talk Aella walked out into the courtyard then out across the bridge. She was headed to Hogsmead to do a bit of shopping and observing of her peers.
